Jeff Haines recently retired after 31 years in the athletic department at Division III Stockton University in Galloway, New Jersey. A good chunk of that time (1998-2014) was spent as the head men's soccer coach and Haines is the only coach to win a national championship in Stockton history, taking his Ospreys to the top of the mountain in 2001. DeShawn Lowman was one of the greatest basketball players ever at Division III Neumann University in Aston. He completed his career as the Knights all-time leading scorer. He is 4th in program history in rebounds, 8th in assists, 3rd in steals and 1st in games played. He helped lead the Knights to two Colonial States Athletic Conference titles and two appearances in the NCAA Tournament. His number #32 is retired at Neumann. Ed Rush was simply one of the greatest referees in NBA history. The Springfield High School and West Chester University alum spent decades in the league, starting in 1966, and also spent time officiating in the Eastern League and the ABA. Theresa Luu recently completed her second season as the head coach of the women's golf team at Saint Joseph's University. She is the only coach in program history as she was tasked with building the program from scratch. Luu is an alum of SJU, and was a member of the club golf team while in school, serving as team president her final two years. TJ Dekmar has spent the last decade as the head men's basketball coach at Division II Goldey-Beacom College in Wilmington, Delaware. The 2025-26 season for the Lightning was one to remember as Dekmar led his team to the NCAA Tournament for the first time in program history. Brittany Whalen is the head women's basketball coach at her alma mater, Immaculata University in Chester County. This is her first head coaching job and she has led the Division III Mighty Macs to back-to-back Atlantic East Conference championships and appearances in the NCAA Tournament. Whalen's record as head coach at Immaculata is 61-19, but over the last two years, the Mighty Macs have gone 46-8. Her team has not lost a conference game since February of 2024. Mavreen Hering has been the head softball coach at Division III Stockton University since 2015. On her watch, the Ospreys have been one of the top teams in the New Jersey Athletic Conference, winning nearly 60% of their games. Hering also enjoyed a very successful run as the head coach at Camden Catholic High School and was a standout player in college at another NJAC school, Rowan. Nydair Rouse is the Community Development Director for the non-profit It Takes A Village To Feed One Child based in King of Prussia. His non-profit work comes after a football career that saw him star at Simon Gratz High School and Division II West Chester University. Upon graduation from West Chester, Rouse, a defensive back, went on to spent time with the Green Bay Packers, the BC Lions of the CFL and the DC Defenders of the UFL. Michelle Vittese is the head field hockey coach at Temple University. She has been in that role since taking over on an interim basis in August of 2021. That interim tag was removed a few months later in November. She has led the Owls to winning records in each the last four seasons, including a 12-6 ledger in 2025. She was a star field hockey player at the University of Virginia and played extensively for the US National Team including in the 2012 and 2016 Summer Olympics. Joe Jamison is the Director of Men's and Women's Wrestling at Division III Ursinus College in Collegeville. He was hired as the men's wrestling coach in 2019 and started the women's program from scratch four years ago.
