Ed Rush was simply one of the greatest referees in NBA history. The Springfield High School and West Chester University alum spent decades in the league, starting in 1966, and also spent time officiating in the Eastern League and the ABA. After retiring as a game official, Rush spent several years serving as the NBA Director of Officiating. Theresa Luu recently completed her second season as the head coach of the women's golf team at Saint Joseph's University. She is the only coach in program history as she was tasked with building the program from scratch. Luu is an alum of SJU, and was a member of the club golf team while in school, serving as team president her final two years. Luu was a standout golfer at Clearview Regional High School in Mullica Hill, New Jersey and is a member of the Ladies Professional Golf Association (LPGA) as a teaching professional. Brittany Whalen is the head women's basketball coach at her alma mater, Immaculata University in Chester County. This is her first head coaching job and she has led the Division III Mighty Macs to back-to-back Atlantic East Conference championships and appearances in the NCAA Tournament. Whalen's record as head coach at Immaculata is 61-19, but over the last two years, the Mighty Macs have gone 46-8. Her team has not lost a conference game since February of 2024. Nydair Rouse is the Community Development Director for the non-profit It Takes A Village To Feed One Child based in King of Prussia. His non-profit work comes after a football career that saw him star at Simon Gratz High School and Division II West Chester University. Michelle Vittese is the head field hockey coach at Temple University. She has been in that role since taking over on an interim basis in August of 2021. The Villanova University football teams is two wins away from a national championship. The 12-2 Wildcats have advanced to the national semifinals of the FCS playoffs where they will host Illinois State on Saturday night at 7:30pm at Villanova Stadium. The Wildcats have defeated Harvard (52-7), Lehigh (14-7) and Tarleton State (26-21) to this point, winning the last two games on the road. Villanova brings an 11-game overall winning streak and a 23-game home winning streak into Saturday night. Illinois State is 11-4 and the Redbirds have won all three of their playoff games on the road. The winner of this game will play the winner of Montana/Montana State for the national title on January 5th in Nashville, Tennessee. The Collingswood, New Jersey native won 668 games in 33 years as a college head coach at American, Boston College, Ohio State and Maryland. He is probably best known for his 22-year run at his alma mater the University of Maryland, where he led the Terrapins to back-to-back Final Fours and the 2002 National Championship.
