In this week's episode, we'll be talking about the Melon Heads of Connecticut, Michigan and Ohio. These grotesque, mutant, feral, cannibalistic people are said to live in the forests, mountains and caverns in remote areas of the states. Sometimes they emerge to attack unsuspecting people. You may be kidnapped to be eaten or to potentially provide their community with offspring. Could these monsters actually be children that suffered relentless torture at the hands of a madman, commissioned by the government? Listen in and see what you think. If you have any comments, questions or stories you would like to share, or if you'd like to be on the show, email us at cryptidfanatic@gmail.com.Send us a textSupport the show

Darkness Syndicate members receive the ad-free version: https://weirddarkness.com/syndicateHOUR ONE: In parts of Africa it's not the werewolf you need to look out for, but the were-hyena… and it's almost always the local blacksmith that is the man behind the monster. (Lesser Known Morphing Monsters: The Shape-Shifter Hyena) *** Does the Vatican have a device that allows them to see in the past and the future? Some believe they do. And if it were to ever fall into the wrong hands, it could then create the “scariest dictatorship the world has ever seen.” (The Vatican's Chronovisor) *** Some fathers will do whatever it takes to protect the virtue of their daughters. One man's solution came at the end of an ax blade. (The Linville Murderer) *** A man believes the creature in his nightmares may be trying to speak with him. (Spirit Communicating Through My Dreams) *** A young girl is surprised to find the Easter Bunny visit her in the middle of the night. But many years later she learns it wasn't either of her parents. (Easter Bunny Creeper) *** The stories range from the being inbred cretins running amok, to government created mutants, to escaped hydrocephalic patients from an insane asylum. What are the strange creatures people are seeing in the deep woods of Ohio? (Strange Encounters With The Bizarre Melonheads) *** Glitch In The Matrix==========HOUR TWO: A group of hunters and Bigfoot enthusiasts go out looking for the elusive creature – but what they find is even more bizarre than anyone might have expected. (The Ultimate Monstrous Thought-Form) *** No one really thinks about it, but cops are usually one of the most credible witnesses to paranormal phenomena. Police officers are trained observers and usually will make better witnesses than a civilian. But even our brave men and women in blue can be terrified into a shade of white. (Police and the Paranormal) *** A bizarre phenomenon that manages to teeter where the lines of Bigfoot, Werewolves, the paranormal, and urban legend intersect, takes things deeper into the strange with various reports that suggest these beings utilize the mental power of telepathy as well. We'll look into some of the creepy encounters with the Dogman. Down a road in the city of Kirtland, Ohio sat a cabin that has since burnt down. That cabin has left behind lots of unanswered questions, and people are still wondering what truly happened inside those walls. Those answers might explain who the people are who have been spotted in the surrounding woods- the people with abnormally large heads and disproportionately small bodies who are often referred to as Melonheads. On this week's episode we delve into the urban legend that has become known as "Melon Heads". People in Michigan, Ohio, and Connecticut have claimed to witness seeing these packs of disformed humans in the forest but is there any possibility they actually exist?
The Western coast of Michigan has several idyllic and prosperous towns that are surrounded by thousands of acres of dark and foreboding woods. In those woods, there are beings hiding behind the trees, waiting for hikers or travelers to come across their path. Beings with enormous heads, emaciated limbs, and razor sharp teeth. Were these beings sufferers of a horrific disease, brought to the area to be experimented on by a mad doctor? Or, were they brought to the area from somewhere... else? This is the story of the Michigan Melon Heads. _________________________________________ Episode Written and Produced by Tyler Liston Music used with full permissions and licenses from Artlist.io _________________________________________ Want to be a part of a future bonus episode of The Timber? Hey Campers, we will be talking about a freaky fast cryptid for this week's episode. We will be discussing the history and sightings of the unsettling Melon Heads. Both Kimmy and Ryan will discuss Why melon heads have a need for speed, how Kimmy is actually a vampire, and why you shouldn't visit haunted places.. even if we don't condemn it. We hope you enjoy this episode of Aloreing, and remember campers Kimmy isn't a vampire so give Dracula Drive a chance, and if you need train, do it in a style of a rocky montage. . . . WANT MORE ALOREING?

Michelle tells Ash about the cryptids called the Melon Head Kids. There are multiple legends surrounding them, and they mostly revolve around kids being held in an asylum and abused or experimented on. They seem to generally wander forests these days and can apparently have razor sharp teeth and can be very aggressive, so if you're in Ohio, be careful!-Join us for as little as $5 a month on Patreon!-We'd love to see you in our Discord, come hang out!-Follow us on Instagram and Twitter!-We have awesome new merch, go take a look!-Audio editing by Emma Bowen.-Sources:Merriam Webster: CryptidWikipedia: Melon HeadsMelon Heads WikiWikipedia: List of CryptidsIMDB: The MelonheadsWeird US: OhioMysterious Universe: Melonheads
