Killer Mike gets recognized for many things - being an Outkast protege, a member of rap powerhouse Run The Jewels, one of Atlanta's biggest advocates, a Bernie Sanders whisperer, and, perhaps most importantly, a voice of reason in an increasingly insane world. Some might know one or two of those sides of Mike, but he is finally ready to introduce the world to the totality of Michael Render, a lifelong rap fiend whose consciousness is seeped in the sounds of community that raised him - multiple eras of southern rap flows, Sunday church service, and barbershop discourse.
We travel to Atlanta and spend a day with Michael Render, better known as Killer Mike. The rapper revisits his childhood spent in tough Atlanta neighborhoods being raised by his grandparents. Mike remembers his early days rapping and how he got his start with OutKast. The Grammy Award-winner and one half of Run the Jewels also explains what makes his new album Michael his most personal yet. Always outspoken on the political front, Mike uniquely describes why he didn't support Hillary Clinton in the 2016 presidential election and reveals future plans in running for office himself.
Michael is Killer Mike's most personal and vulnerable album to date — an audio biography of the nine-year-old Michael Render on the album cover, a boy with a halo and devil horns over this head dreaming about being an emcee and the challenges he would have to go through to get there. From drug dealing in Atlanta on the song “Something for Junkies” to saying his mother, Denise, was dead for the first time on the song “Motherless,” each song on the album serves as chapters in the journey of Michael Render. The Vexed Intellects have are having a great week and take some time out to discuss the good and the bad of today. The conversation begins with a discussion of the Domestic terrorist plot for Michigan militia to kidnap the MI and the VA Governor. The conversation continues to review Torey Lanez being brought up on charges for the Megan Thee Stallion shooting and is this a first step in “protecting black women”? The Oath Keepers “keeping peace” at the polls. Should this be allowed or is this outside the lines (13:35). The real question of the week is, are you getting the new iPhone even without the new charger (15:00)? We go on to celebrate women in our you Glo Girl segment Jeanie Buss, Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms, Kira Hancock, Kamala Harris and Dr. Lindsay Harris. The show goes on to shout out Michael Render aka Killer Mike and Ambassador Andrew Young for launching the Greenwood Bank (27:45) with a shout out to Lebron James and the Lakers for their NBA Championship win with a honorable mention for Megan Thee Stallion and her Don't stop initiative (29:00). Party fail for Mike Pence for ratting out his fraternity brothers for having a keg party. Shout outs to Macy's, Sephora, Rent the Runway, and Yelp for adjusting their policies to include a shelf space committed to Black business and review (38:00). The need to flex representing idiots of the week with blexit(43:00) and PPP loan scammers (39:00). Voter suppression at it's finest with 1.8 million change of address requests not being fulfilled and 8-12 hour voting lines (47:00) with a moral of the story being don't be discouraged by the game they are playing with our vote. Head high to the finish is the mantra! There are a litany of WTF's to go around and digresses into a possible Bestiality conversation with DTTP(1:02:00). We then take a listen of the Bill Burr SNL soliloquy around white women taking advantage of the Woke movement. A new segment of hypotheticals starts with a treatise on “being the bigger person” (1:10:00). Is it practical or some New Testament philosophy that we have passed down through the ages. The conversation turns to submission for Young Jeezy & Jeannie Mai and the flack that comes along with that decision (1:18:00). Help us understand the experience for US… We as the Vexed Intellects feel like we are better off with women in our corner. #GetVexed and Enjoy!

In his recent Press Conference with the Mayor of Atlanta, activist, rapper and teacher Michael Render (aka “Killer Mike”) urged people to “plot, plan, strategize, organize and mobilize”. Referencing the long battle towards equality assisted by organizations such as the YMCA (Young Men's Christian Association) and the SCLC (Southern Christian Leadership Conference), Teacher Mike urged us to place ourselves in this non-violent organizational line. In this show, we draw attention to an overlooked part of the history of organization towards peace and justice: The International Council of Women (ICW). First meeting in 1888 to celebrate the 40th anniversary of Seneca Falls, the “solidarity of human interests” brought together men and women such as Frederick Douglass (1818-1895), Susan B. Anthony (1820-1906) and Clara Barton (1821-1912) . The International Council of Women laid the groundwork for women's international support of the Peace through Law movement, work which still continues to this day. Rapper and Bernie Sanders endorser Killer Mike made a terrible mistake on Tuesday night when he quoted “a woman” who used the word “uterus,” during a speech at Morehouse College in Atlanta. Twitter and several media outlets blasted Michael Render, AKA Killer Mike, for sexism. Interestingly, most of them didn't bother to explain what he was really saying or who the woman he had cited was: feminist, anti-racist educator and activist Jane Elliott.
