Listeners of The Vexed Intellects Podcast that love the show mention:They say one should always bet on themselves... A message that apparently resonated with Atlanta Falcons receiver Calvin Ridley as it was revealed the star wide out allegedly bet $1,500 on a game that featured his own team. Similarly, the message was clearly received by Kytch (a Delaware based company responsible for fixing McDonald's ice cream machines) as they too are betting on themselves in a $900 million lawsuit against the fast food giant alleging the company made derogatory remarks through false advertisement. It's a 'bad look' when the thing you've been hired to fix is seemingly always broken, & the company is preparing to fight to protect its reputation in court. These two 'bets' are discussed at length in this week's episode of the Vexed Intellects. Plus: Updates from Ukraine, Britney Griner's detainment, the scamming of the "Tinder Swindler", the flippantness in the use of the word narcissist, placeholder status & the settling for 'second best' in relationships, fake orgasms, the difference between a good woman & the right woman, & are some people just destined to be single forever? Tuesday was 'Twosday' (2/22/22), & while many people around the world celebrated the "day that the numbers aligned", rapper Omeretta went viral this week for making sure residents of her native Atlanta (& surrounding areas) were 'aligned' on what IS & is NOT Atlanta. The Vexed Intellects, (a collective comprised of both Atlantans & NOT Atlantans), discussed the viral hit single whilst reppin' where they stay. Speaking of numbers, the guys also discussed several number related topics, such as the study on how 1 in 4 men admit to faking orgasms, & the incredible numbers trans swimmer Lia Thomas put up at the ivy league championships, shattering Harvard's Blodgett Pool records. Things aren't always as they seem... In the #1 series on Netflix this week, the "Tinder Swindler" appeared to be the heir to a diamond fortune to potential suitors seeking wealthy companions on a dating app. We now know that he's a master con man, who was arrested & is now banned globally from all dating apps. The "Crocodile of Wall Street" or "Razzlekhan" appeared to be a successful tech entrepreneur, motivational speaker, & "rapper" to her social media followers. We now know that she is one-half of a husband & wife duo accused of conspiring to launder almost 120,000 bitcoin worth $4.5 billion, effectively pulling off one of the biggest currency heists of all time. Sha'Carri Richardson accused the IOC of racism when they allowed Russian figure skater Kamila Valieva to continue competing at the Beijing Games amid a doping charge. This seemed in stark contrast to the punishment levied against Richardson when she was denied the opportunity to compete in last year's summer Olympic games due to testing positive for marijuana. We now know that the young skater is was allowed to compete due to a technicality with her being considered a "protected person" (a minor), & the decision in fact had nothing to do with racism. This week the Vexed Intellects (& Los) go in depth to discuss these unbelievable stories. Plus...The Trey Songz accusations, The future of Verzuz, the Super Bowl halftime show, the strange Moderna stock selloff, insightful relationship dynamics, & a hilarious story about one husband's terrible mistake during sex. If you were a cylindrically shaped object that's primarily used as a vessel for pleasure you most likely had a GREAT week! This statement is especially true if you just so happened to end up at a 'sip-n-paint' event, a federally funded crack house, or at about the 6-inch mark of a ruler tattooed on the forearm of a l very liberated British woman. If none of those options sound appealing enough for you, then perhaps you'd prefer to listen to the Vexed Intellects discuss Kanye vs Kim, Joe Rogan vs everybody, or the "tinder swindler". It was another WILD week filled with much foolishness & much f*ckery, but fret not, like makeup the Vexed Intellects have got it all covered! Rihanna is pregnant (insert sad face emoji). Neil Young, & other legacy acts have removed their music from Spotify in an effort to pressure the DSP to censor podcast giant Joe Rogan for allegedly spreading misinformation. Will "cancel culture" claim it's next victim? Whoopi Goldberg is in hot water after claiming the Holocaust was not about race (WHAT?!?), & on the first day of black history month, thirteen HBCUs received bomb threats. The guys discuss these stories, plus: Dr. Miami's $600 penis extension, 'skeetless' Joey Badass, thoughtful first date gifts, loving the right person at the wrong time, & a wife's dying wish to have sex with a former lover before she kicks the bucket... If a tree falls in the metaverse & no one hears it does it make a sound? Do trees even fall in the metaverse? After all, It's supposed to be the perfect alternative to our imperfect reality right?....... Right?? This week the Vexed Intellects (& special guest Teresa) discuss claims of groping in the metaverse. The group tackles tough questions in relation to this issue such as who will police claims such as these, & will there be a metaverse 'social credit score' or rating system implemented to keep the experience civil, & hold problematic users accountable? The gentleman also discuss the pastor Mike Todd 'spittng' incident, a shrinking covid d*ck, a champagne & Viagra induced fractured d*ck, an onlyfans creator with two va-jay-jays, & the problem with tropes for black men & women. Contrary to popular belief (and Frank's red hot commercials), hot sauce does NOT go on everything! This theory was unwittingly put to the test when an Instagram "model" allegedly went dumpster diving in search of a discarded condom containing the nectar of the (six) God himself (Drake) in a failed insemination attempt post coitus. According to reports, the woman is considering suing the rapper whom she alleges is guilty of putting hot sauce in the prophylactic in an effort to thwart any potential attempt at securing a 216 month financial agreement. This week the Vexed Intellects discuss the explicit details of this alleged hotel romp, plus: "Airpod shaped" women, Pretty privilege, sex education with Jim Jones' Mom, step sibling "love", & a "90 Day Fiance" star who made 200k from farting in jars. 2022 is true & new... but like rollover minutes from cellphone plans in the early 2000s, the first few days of the New Year feels like leftovers from 2021. Firstly, R.I.P. to the legend Betty White (insert praying hands emoji). NFL wide receiver Antonio Brown made quite the spectacle as he stripped down to his underoos & unceremoniously exited the field DURING his team's second to last game of the regular season. In the first episode of the year the Vexed Intellects discuss CTE, mental health, & public grace in the aftermath of this incident. The guys also discuss Tristan Thompson, Ghislaine Maxwell, Vin Diesel, BBLs vs teeth, & a Time magazine article highlighting how there are more men single than women these days. Pope Francis came out recently & said: "Sins of the flesh are not the most serious,”... A motto that 'Just-say-yes Nancy' Reagan once subscribed to allegedly as the former 1st lady's prowess as an elite Hollywood fellatio specialist made headlines this week. It all started when Ben Shapiro's sister posted a tweet comparing Reagan to famed pop singer Madonna in an attempt to slut shame the singer for posting provocative photos to Instagram. The internet quickly found an excerpt from the book "Nancy Reagan: The Unauthorized Biography" by author Kitty Kelley that read: "in the days when she was Nancy Davis, she was known to give the best blowjob in town, not only in the evening but in offices." This week the Vexed Intellects debate on whether or not the former first lady should be considered the "throat goat". The gentleman also discuss the Jussie Smollet verdict, Don Lemon, Chris Cuomo, Travis Scott, Instagram, & a couple of embarrassing sex stories involving a woman accidentally live streaming a romp with her husband for an audience that included her father, & a model passing out after attempting to join the mile-high club. It was a week of firsts in a wild 1st week of the last month of a very WILD year, & the Vexed Intellects are back for another fun filled episode to unpack it all. Bone Thugs-N-Harmony & Three 6 Mafia produced the 1st ever Verzuz fight, & for the 1st time on record, a woman sued her Mom for being born (she won). Speaking of being born, the guys also discussed a wild story from Dr. J's book where he revealed that his love child was spawned only because her mother got braces. Jussie Smollet took the stand in the 1st week of his trial & revealed a very interesting "bonding" exercise that he shared in a bathhouse with one of his accused attackers. Jackson State head football coach Deion Sanders had Brittney Renner advise his players on what to look out for in regards to Women seeking comeuppance, & lastly, the gentlemen also talked about what it means to do "wifely duties" at girlfriend prices. The omicron variant isn't the only reason to wear a mask right now... This holiday season the 'pregnancy bug' appears to be contagious, as Rihanna AND robots made headlines this week for allegedly carrying offspring. Hopefully both parties are well versed in consent laws, because an Australian sex expert is making headlines for saying parents should ask their babies for consent to change their diapers.. (no, seriously...). Non-Christmas 'Box' is being passed around left & right in the Southeastern region of the United States as an Alabama FedEx worker is accused of allegedly dumping 400 packages in the woods, & Atlanta rap artists & fellow QC label mates Lil Baby & Quavo share similar tastes in 'Saweets'. Comedian Karlous Miller posed a very interesting question on Twitter when he asked: "How much do you think free p*ssy costs a man?" Can't we all just get along??? In a week that saw Drake & Kanye squash their long-standing beef, a new rift took center stage as music stars DaBaby & (his new baby's mother), singer DaniLeigh went viral for an explosive spat on Instagram live. Leigh was charged with simple assault, & with baby in tow was forced to disperse from her co-parent's North Carolina condo. On this episode of the Vexed Intellects, the guys discuss the chaotic ordeal & debate if whether or not this latest incident will be the final straw for some fans of DaBaby. Plus... November is Men's health month & studies show that one way to feel better after a long day or tough workout is a steaming hot bath or shower. There are no studies tied to health or happiness when it comes to men thoroughly cleaning the "gooch" area, but fret not, the Vexed Intellects discuss the proper techniques to execute a thorough cleaning of the nether region after a post about men & "gooch" cleanliness went viral this week. The gentleman also discuss "holding frame" in response to another viral clip showing Jeff Bezos' girlfriend allegedly fawning over actor Leonardo DiCaprio while in the presence of her multi billionaire mate at a public gathering. Date/money discourse between genders happens almost weekly on black Twitter & other socials. Does physical attraction & status trump money in dating? The gentlemen discuss.. plus... It's the last week of October, which of course means Halloween is upon us. It's also 2021, which of course means there were most likely calls for someone to be "cancelled" at some point this week. Ironically, the person on the receiving end of said cancellation is a bit of a "canceller" himself. Legendary knifeman & horror film villain Michael Myers is being summonsed to 'cancel court' for the crime of (wait for it...) killing people (GASP!!). "Anybody can get it" has been the motto for the ever consistent Myers who's been indiscriminately & brutally immobilizing people since 1978. So why cancel him now? Well, apparently some fans have decided the buck stops at inclusion, as they were not too pleased with a scene where Myers allegedly killed a gay couple occupying his childhood home in the latest installment of the Halloween series: "Halloween Kills". This week the Vexed Intellects try to make sense of this topic, plus... The Alec Baldwin incident, Alpha Kappa Alpha sorority vs Amanda Seales, Pablo Escobar's hippos, a testicle bath contraceptive for men, & an interesting story about a budget conscious California man that spends only $150 total annually on food for the last 7 years. Last week actor & comedian Kevin James was trending on Twitter after a map surfaced on the social media site relating to PornHub's year-in-review data. Since 2012 The popular hub for porn (no pun intended) annually shares data revealing the most searched porn categories for each state in the U.S.. The map suggested the top search trend for the state of Tennessee was James, of The King of Queens and Kevin Can Wait fame. Not to yuck Tennessee's yum, but this revelation left many scratching their heads after the post went viral. As it turns out, the map is fake (it was created in 2019 by a Twitter user), however, the top category listed for the state of Louisiana (lesbian) might be closer to reality than not. It's being reported by several outlets that another famous big guy (the state's highest paid employee) has quite the appetite & the attraction for the ladies. LSU Head Football coach Ed Orgeron is being relieved of his duties at season's end after pictures surfaced appearing to show the coach shirtless post coitus with a young blonde. Several other reports made the headlines as well, like the time Orgeron allegedly made inappropriate comments to an LSU employee's pregnant wife at a gas station, & reports that children of love interests were allowed to disrupt practice & participate in drills with the team. Coach was wylin' y'all... The Vexed Intellects discuss these amazing events from the week plus.. Last week the internet was sent into a frenzy after Netflix released Dave Chappelle's latest comedy special "The Closer". Lines were drawn in the sand (on social media) as people debated whether the famed comedian was 'punching down' at trans people. For some, the overarching theme of the special was to point out the hypocrisy of selective outrage & "woke" culture. Chappelle made the argument that the plight of other marginalized groups are often prioritized over that of Black, brown, & indigenous people. Ironically that theory was quickly put to the test after a New York times report revealed several email messages dating back as far as 2011 where Las Vegas Raiders head coach Jon Gruden made some disparaging remarks about NFLPA Executive Director DeMaurice Smith's physical appearance (big lips trope) & competency (Dumb). No disciplinary action was taken in the days following the release of the report even as it was widely circulated in articles & discussed on news programs. It was only after the revelation that Gruden had also made homophobic & misogynistic remarks about NFL commissioner Roger Goodell, openly gay player Michael Sam, & others that the Raiders organization "allowed" the now disgraced coach to resign on his own volition. Was Chappelle right? Does a marginalized group hierarchy exist in which certain groups get prioritized over others, & if so, who gets to decide the pecking order? This week the Vexed Intellects address the complex questions surrounding this conundrum. Plus... The Kyrie Irving vaccination saga, the embarrassing defeat of Deontay Wilder, Jamie Lee Curtis comments on plastic surgery wiping out generations of beauty, modern female intrasexual competition, the expectations of return on investment in dating, & a woman who sued the insurance company of a guy she caught an STD from during a passionate backseat romp. Rapper Fat Joe introduced a new staple into the urban vernacular lexicon this year when he uttered: "Yesterday's price is not today's price" during an Instagram live stream following the Verzuz matchup between The Lox & Dipset. The now infamous saying has caught on like wildfire on social media, & has proven timely as popular value store Dollar Tree announced prices will be going "All the Way Up" on select items effectively retiring the store's motto: "Everything's $1". Could the increase in the 'cost of things' be the reason hundreds of world leaders, politicians, celebrities, & religious leaders have been using offshore accounts to shield assets collectively worth trillions of dollars as revealed in the 'Pandora Papers'? Miami residents (surpassed L.A. in cost of living) & ESPN's Sage Steele (suspended 1 week for racially insensitive remarks about former president Barack Obama) probably wish for "yesterday's price" to stay the same. This week the Vexed Intellects (& special guest Kenna Williams) discuss all of the topics mentioned, plus... Ellen Pompeo vs Denzel Washington, author/activist Frederick Joseph vs a Williamsburg 'Karen', Robin Thicke, the return of Rap City, Masculinity, virtual polygamy, & a drunk man helping the police search for himself. Kakorrhaphiophobia is defined as the abnormal fear of failure. There is an ongoing narrative (widely disputed by several publications) that 50% of marriages end in divorce. Unvetted belief in this narrative (among several other factors) has greatly contributed to many people having kakorrhaphiophobia towards nuptials. If celebrity relationships are "goals" for people on the fence about tying the knot... This week didn't help. Singer Miguel & his wife Nazanin called it quits after 17 years together. Will & Jada's marriage made it's way back to headlines (post 'entanglement') as Will confirmed via an interview with GQ magazine that he & wife Jada have an open, "unconventional" relationship. If those two marriage bombshells weren't enough to quell your nuptial naivety... Actress Gabrielle Union admitted that she (in her current form) would NOT have taken back husband Dwyane Wade if "break baby-gate" had happened today, & former NBA player Stephen Jackson shares the story of him leaving his bride to be at the alter after she reneged on signing a prenup. The Vexed Intellects discuss these stories plus... Snus in the anus, fire-starting boiled bear piss, Dez Bryant vs Colin Kaepernick/Jemele Hill, NBA anti-vaxers, Gen Zers' propensity for pics/relationship aesthetics over actual healthy relationships, & a rare condition that caused a man to ejaculate from his rectum for two years before seeking Medical assistance. What type of games are being played? We release this episode on the 132nd anniversary of the day Nintendo was founded, & like NBA 2K22 on a Nintendo Switch in the hands of a child, games were most certainly being played in pop culture this week. Twitter page raptv.com posed the question: “Is Drake in 2021 bigger than Michael Jackson at his peak!?”. As you discard the tissue used to wipe the laughter induced tears from your eyes after reading that ridiculous question, grab a couple more (you'll need them) because the Vexed Intellects discuss a WILD story where a wife explains that her husband is asking her for understanding as he grieves the passing of his mistress. These stories plus… JD vs Diddy, Karen Civil vs everybody, reality show “The Activist” gets cancelled before it's premier due to backlash, Chris Rock's PSA after being vaccinated & catching COVID, the value of platonic friends of the opposite sex, a man's love for va-jay-jay whilst having complete disdain for women, couples having more sex post breakup than when they were committed, & another wild story about a guy at a party, his ‘girlfriend', two random guys she met at the party, a locked room upstairs, & the original guy's friend quarantined at home documenting the entire ordeal thru text. According to a friend of Nicki Minaj's cousin in Trinidad.. COVID-19 vaccines may cause impotence.. with this possibility in mind, the Federal government might want to consider offering Viagra prescriptions to incentivize men to get the shot(s) as the Biden administration proposes to enforce vaccine mandates on all Federal employees, & companies that employ 100 or more people, a measure that will apply to more than 100 million workers. This week the Vexed Intellects discuss the ensuing fallout of Minaj's candid vaccine tweets to her 22 million Twitter followers as medical professionals, news anchors, & others accused the music star of using her large platform irresponsibly to spread misinformation. The gentleman also discuss the antics of this year's VMA awards & the pageantry of the Met gala. Plus... "A man gotta have a code" - Michael K. Williams as Omar Little. This week The Vexed Intellects discuss "man code" on a plethora of topics. Drake released his long awaited album "Certified Lover Boy" to much fan fare. The 21-song opus is projected to sell over 600k units in it's 1st week of release. Though the vast majority of conversations surrounding the release were positive, many people criticized the Canadian-born star for leaking an unreleased recording of a song left off Kanye West's 'Donda' album featuring a beautiful, sincere tribute verse to his late Mother from the legendary Andre 3000. Drake was also heavily criticized for having troubled R&B singer R. Kelly credited on his song "TSU' which contains a sample from one of Kelly's previous works. Was the 3000 verse leak a violation? Or Is all fair in rap beef? The Intellects discuss... Plus... The Texas abortion bill, Joe Rogan's home COVID treatment, California gubernatorial candidate Larry Elder on reparations for slave owners with Candice Owens, black nerds(blerds) & desirability or lack there of fun black women, dating phobias, & a WILD story about a guy who went to a Waffle House restaurant weekly to engage in fisticuffs with a cook over "principle" & runny eggs...... This week the Vexed Intellects discuss goal manifestation, & the process of attracting one's desires into actualization via intention & effort. The guys also discuss self expression & what that means for a person's experiences at different stages in life. For example: how does a child that grows up in an environment where their parents allow them to fully express themselves & be heard/have their feelings considered deal with social, professional, & relationship conflict as teenagers or adults? Another example: are black men better communicators when space is created for them (by other black men) to express themselves & be vulnerable/emotional without fear of judgment or having said vulnerability/emotion exploited, & used against them in retaliation in future arguments? The gentleman also respond to a tweet by a black woman comparing her experiences with male friends vs romantic partners, & her call for men to "protect black women" even in relationships. Plus... The milk crate challenge has taken the timeline by storm, & it is perhaps a perfect metaphor for life. You take small, careful steps towards your goal only to fall swiftly (& sometimes painfully). In this 'game' few will prosper. Luck is a major factor in success for most, while others reach the goal by carefully strategizing & planning their steps. The last few months might feel like the milk crate challenge for track star Sha'Carri Richardson as she finished dead last in her return to the track during the women's 100m event at the Nike Prefontaine Classic. The heaping wave of jeers & jokes pointed directly at the young phenom are only rivaled by the sweeping praise & adulation she received during her meteoric rise only months prior. This sparked a debate as to whether or not this was just your normal par for the course sports banter or the mob seizing the opportunity to 'humble' a confident black woman. This week the Vexed Intellects offer some thoughts on this topic. Plus... Jay-Z & Beyonce's Tiffany diamond campaign, 19 year old Lamelo Ball's "relationship" with 32 year old Ana Montana, Dell & Sonja Curry's divorce, Onlyfans' ban on sexually explicit content, Rachel Dolezal's feet pics, & an interesting theory on whether or not cheating is an illusion. This week the Vexed Intellects (with special guest Tonya Cole) discuss the continuing saga of rapper DaBaby as famed music festivals Lollapalooza, Governors Ball, & Music Midtown (among others) removed the Interscope Records recording artist from their lineups following controversial comments made during his performance at Rolling Loud Miami. DaBaby has since apologized (twice) for the offensive comments, but continues to lose opportunities. As culture critics DJ Akademiks & Dr. Boyce Watkins question if the "morality" play by the festivals is hypocritical, artists like Elton John, Madonna, Questlove, & others chimed in to publicly chastise the rapper causing many people on the social media timeline(s) to ask if this is considered piling on at this point. Is it virtue signaling? How "accountable" should we hold a young, admittedly uninformed artist? The Intellects unpack the many layers to this topic, plus... Intimacy without commitment, paying for sex, reciprocating effort, "settling" in relationships, attracting the right partner, "boyfriend" d*ck vs "one-night stand" d*ck, & a follow-up to the "what do you bring to the table" conversation.
