Finishing up the release for the new iOS app for Micro.blog. Working on Micropub and XML-RPC, and trying to get through it. Talking about shoutouts.lol and the theme section, as I'm not really happy with it. Any ideas on what I should do? I certainly have some ideas. Adding support for more image formats. We've been busy working on the Micro.blog iOS app for a few weeks, bringing a new update (version 3) to TestFlight, to you your favourite fruit company. It's a long beta and will run along the releases of the Android version. I cut a lot of this episode because of a car that started parking right next to me... I left some of my comments in. Then I tried talking more (not present in this episode) but more and more people started parking... so I gave up. Thanks for listening. If you like the show, feel free to support me. A special episode to mark a milestone for the Micro Monday podcast. Manton and Jean talk with Patrick Rhone, who previously appeared on Episode 4. We take a look at how Micro.blog has evolved and where it’s going, focusing on these questions: How important are independent blogs, considering what we have seen elsewhere in social media? How has Micro.blog and the community evolved? How could Micro.blog be improved? Our pets share opinions too.

Manton Reece and Jean MacDonald of Micro.blog and Jonathan Hays of Sunlit have joined forces to bring photo sharing to the Micro.blog service, and join us to talk about this new enhancement. In Part 1, Manton starts us off by discussing some of the newest features in the latest update to the social media/microblogging platform, and Jean explains why they haven’t had to implement heavy-handed security to keep the service a pleasant one to use. Jonathan then explains how Sunlit integrates with Micro.blog, how it is and isn’t similar to that other photo sharing service, and why you would want to take advantage of it. This week, Miraz Jordan returns to the podcast to talk about her new project, How To Customise Micro.blog. She first appeared on Micro Monday Episode 35. Miraz tells us how she went from a teaching career to creating her own business as an internet instructor and co-authoring a book on Word Press. Then we take a look at the tutorials she’s created, starting with basic customizations that don’t require any special skills or experience. Miraz also recommends folks check out Mars Edit, the blogging software by Daniel Jalkut, which she used to author all the posts on How To Customise Micro.blog. At 35 minutes, this episode is a bit longer than a typical Micro Monday, but for those interested in learning more about customizing their microblogs, there is a lot of great information to help you get started. (There is also a quail update.)
There are so many microblogging platforms that are offering such an impressive user experience that it's dizzying. Hopefully, this will beat back Facebook's missteps in favor of more power for the user over their content. To get paid for their posts too would be nice!
