My guest this week is Pastor Matthew Trewhella, pastor of Mercy Seat Christian Church in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Pastor Trewhella is the author of The Doctrine of the Lesser Magistrates and is a staunch advocate for principled living and for the duty we all have of protecting the vulnerable and defending our nations and our communities from destructive compromise on moral issues. He talks about the tragic decline of moral integrity in the Republican Party as it has removed from its platform policies against abortion and sexual perversion. He also speaks of the trial in Michigan of pro-lifers facing 11 years in prison for peaceful protest. Learn more about resisting evil at: https://defytyrants.com

Our show this week concentrates on the Supreme Court of Canada (SCC). We were triggered by the strange take on a sexual assault case from Justice Sheila Martin, who took issue with the word "woman." Then John reads out a few woke posts from the Court's X account. We also go over an excellent column on the SCC by Barry W. Bussey in The Epoch Times, and we review the Court's decision not to hear the Justice Centre's Manitoba lockdown challenge. We open the new season with a discussion of three recent Justice Centre victories: 1) The Michal Princ case in Alberta where a doctor was accused of professional misconduct for providing Covid vaccine exemptions, 2) the Leah McInnes case. Leah, a Saskatchewan nurse, who had been accused of unprofessional conduct because she protested—both in the streets and on social media—against lockdowns and vaccine mandates, and 3) an ArriveCAN ticket case in Ontario. Money from the Chinese Communist Party was funneled into the campaigns of at least 11 federal candidates…9 Liberals and 2 Conservatives. The Canadian Constitution and Charter of Rights and Freedoms protect Canadian freedoms such as:- Mobility rights- Conscience rights- Freedom of peaceful assembly- Freedom of communication in the media- Protection from unreasonable seizure- Equal treatment before the law for all CanadiansCurrently, Canada's courts are being flooded with cases where citizens are suing various levels of government for breaching their charter rights over the last few years. It is likely that our nation has never before seen such an influx of charter court cases in such a small window of time. The Justice Centre for Constitutional Freedoms is on the frontlines, currently representing hundreds of these cases across the nation.  Recently, founder John Carpay was detained in prison for 23 hrs for a related investigation that he was a part of 17 months ago.  He is with us today to discuss what happened and some of the cases he and his team have been taking on— the most notable case of which is The Hon. Brian Peckford's lawsuit against the federal government for breeching his mobility rights. Mr. Peckford is the last remaining architect of Canada's Constitution.  Thanks for joining us._________________________________Faytene.tv is a listener-supported program. Sign-up for our newsletter: https://firstfreedoms.ca/call_to_action_pages/stay_informed/ The Honourable Brian Peckford's, P.C., second visit on Freedom Feature centres around the importance of maintaining our democracy. Mr. Peckford reminds us that it requires a lot of engagement from the public which has fallen short. If we are to maintain our freedom we must do better. Our discussion began with the Public Order Emergency Commission; his proposal for a Canadian Magna Carta; his thoughts on Queen Elizabeth II, and his teaser that there will be an announcement soon on a “full scale inquiry” on what happened over the last 2 1/2 years. Public Order Emergency Commission The Commission is reviewing the federal government's invocation of the Emergencies Act. Mr. Peckford says there are a lot of problems with the Commission. Among his concerns are, first, it is the government reviewing itself. It is not an independent body. Second, the terms of reference highly favour the government's telling of the story against the truckers. It is not allowed to express any conclusion regarding the civil or criminal liability. No discussion of the seizing of the bank accounts. You may find more on Peckford's his blog on the POE Commission here: https://peckford42.wordpress.com/.../canadas-emergencies.../ Canadian Magna Carta Peckford advocates for a “Canadian Magna Carta” that will require: First, an independent inquiry on whether the government's vaccine mandates and lockdowns were necessary; Second, all political parties must open their books and publish audited financial statements; Third, no MPs, or members of Provincial or Territorial legislatures who broke the law can sit in the chambers; Fourth, private members bill in Parliament must be debated and voted within six months; Fifth, all superior court judges must meet established criteria and be subject to a parliamentary committee hearing and to full parliamentary vote which is final; Sixth, parliamentary committees cannot be shutdown until all business is completed and citizens who have relevant information are given the opportunity to speak; Seventh, all governments must have balanced budgets; Eighth, mandatory Civics course for grades 8-12; Ninth, the power of the office of Prime Minister must be reduced; and the PMO and Privy Council must not have more than 500 employees; Tenth, an annual First Ministers Conference outlining national priorities; Eleventh, the Supremacy of God and Rule of Law clauses of the Charter must be considered in all Charter cases; Twelveth, no international treaty can be signed that erodes Canadian sovereignty; Thirteenth, membership in an international organization must be conditional on Canada remaining a completely sovereign nation. You may find more on Peckford's Canadian Magna Carta here: https://peckford42.wordpress.com/.../magna-carta-for.../ Queen Elizabeth II Mr. Peckford shared candid memories meeting members of the Royal Family and shares his thoughts on the passing of Queen Elizabeth II. He also expresses the view on the importance of maintaining the monarchy for Canada. Special Announcement Coming Mr. Peckford also informs us that an announcement is coming soon about a “full scale inquiry involving citizens of Canada to determine just what happened in the last two and a half years.”

An interview with the only living signatory of the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms. What an honour and privilege to speak with The Honourable A. Brian Peckford P.C., on the current state of Canada. It's a long one, but worth every minute. Brian was born August 27, 1942 in Whitbourne, Newfoundland. He graduated from Lewisporte High School in 1960. In 1966 he graduated with a BA in Education from Memorial University of Newfoundland. He later did post graduate work in English Literature and Education Psychology. He taught high school in Sprindgale, Newfoundland, and in 1972 he entered Provincial Politics. In March 1972 Brian was elected the first Progressive Conservative MHA in the history of the riding at age 29. Later that year he became Special and Parliamentary Assistant to the then Premier, Frank Moores. In 1974 he was appointed Minister of Municipal Affairs and Housing and in 1976 Minister of Mines and Energy. While Minister of Mines and Energy, he also served for some time as Minister of Rural Development and Northern Affairs. In March 1979 Brian won the Progressive Conservative leadership convention and became the third Premier of the Province since Confederation. He was at 36 the youngest first minister of Newfoundland since the First Prime Minister, Philip Little in 1855. Brian became a strong advocate of Provincial Rights as manifested in his efforts to gain some control and revenues from the newly developing offshore oil and gas resources culminating in The Atlantic Accord. This groundbreaking Agreement brought revenues to the Province as if the resources were on land, around $30 Billion to date, and a say in the management of the resource. Brian was involved in the Constitutional Patriation Process of the early 1980's leading to the Constitution Act of 1982. It was Newfoundland's proposal presented at the Conference that led to the breakthrough. Brian is the only living First Minister of that Constitutional Process. Mr. Peckford retired from politics in March 1989 and began a consulting company, with his wife Carol, assisting companies in Europe and North America. He has written two books, the last, ‘Some Day The Sun Will Shine And Have Not Will Be No More,' a Globe and Mail best seller in 2012. He has received awards as an Outstanding Young Canadian and the Outstanding Contribution Award from the Newfoundland Ocean Industries Association. He was sworn to the Privy Council by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth in 1982. Brian has conducted inquires on behalf of the British Columbia Government and the Government of Canada. Stay in touch with Brian at https://peckford42.wordpress.com/ He retired in 2001 and presently lives with his wife, Carol, in Parksville, British Columbia.

Last month, he announced he is suing the government for violating the Charter that he helped craft. Yesterday, he spoke with Barry about current events. Mr. Peckford reminds us that the Charter begins with the statement, “Whereas Canada is founded upon principles that recognize the supremacy of God and the rule of law.” Everything else flows from that foundation. In 1982, the Charter was added to the Constitution, meaning that a guarantee of rights and freedoms for Canadian citizens became a part of the Supreme Law of the land. These rights and freedoms include freedom of conscience, religion, thought, belief, expression, the press, peaceful assembly, association, mobility rights, and the right to liberty and security of the person. Some would say in this season, it could be argued that many of these rights have been breached. Here to discuss the Charter and if, or when, it is ever granted by law to be overridden, is The Honourable Brian Peckford. Mr. Peckford is a very accomplished Canadian political leader, and is the only remaining premier that was at the table with Prime Minister Pierre Elliott Trudeau and his government as they crafted the Canadian charter. He's such an important voice for such an important conversation to so many of us right now. Thanks for joining us. The Roy Green Show Podcast - Conservative Party of Canada MP/Deputy leader Lisa Raitt subjected Gerald Butts and Michael Wernick to what could be described as withering questioning at the parliamentary Justice Committee hearing this week. Meanwhile Liberals with the majority on the committee voted down a motion to have Jody Wilson-Raybould return to testify at the committee next week. As well, the Liberal MPs voted against a Lisa Raitt motion calling on Butts to produce all texts and emails with his staff on the JWR matter. MP Lisa Raitt shares her takeaway from the experience. On the day following International Women's Day we engage our show panel of very accomplished Canadian women on the number 1 news story in Canada to take on the news out of Ottawa this week. From the drama at the Parliamentary Justice Committee, to Trudeau's newser and calls from the opposition for Trudeau to resign, Catherine Swift, Linda Leatherdale and Michelle Simson are ready to tackle what happens next and how Canada will be affected. Former Newfoundland and Labrador Premier Brian Peckford is blogging about the current crisis in Ottawa. One blog piece is titled 'Why Aren't We Using the Words Right and Wrong? Have They Become Taboo, Too?' and the other is 'Thank God for SNC-Lavalin: We Might Never Have Known How Unethical This Federal Government Is.' Bian Peckford joins Roy to expand on the points he brought up in these posts. How nasty does it get when an MP refuses to stand and vote with their own federal political party on principle?  Our guest experienced this reality first hand. John Nunziata was a three term Liberal MP and member of the so-called "Rat Pack" with Sheila Copps. During the 1993 federal election the Liberal Party under Jean Chretien said they would abolish the GST if we're elected, and it became constantly repeated cornerstone election promise. But as soon as the Liberals were elected to form a majority government the "abolish the GST" promise evaporated. One Liberal MP alone decided to hold his party's federal government accountable and declared he would vote against the government on its first budget bill, which was a confidence vote.  Nunziata was kicked out of the Liberal Party and sat alone as an independent MP. Then, in 1997 Nunziata ran against the Liberal machine and their official candidate Judy Sgro in the York South-Weston riding of Toronto. Nunziata was reelected, defeating the Liberals who again won a strong majority government. John Nunziata joins the show to discuss his experience and what he believes Jody Wilson-Raybould and Jane Philpott are experiencing from their Liberal caucus mates and party leadership now. - Guests: Lisa Raitt Catherine Swift, Described as "Canada's most powerful woman" and former President/CEO of the CFIB. This is the first A first real test for the People's Party of Canada, in its quest to form the national government in the October 21, federal election. PPC founder and leader Maxime Bernier Democracy Watch co-founder and law professor Duff Conacher continues to challenge the involvement of federal ethics commissioner Mario Dion in the Trudeau - Wilson-Raybould issue. Dion was appointed by the Trudeau cabinet and without engagement by the opposition parties as required by the Canada Parliament Act. Conacher write that "any committee of MPs is a Kangaroo Court, as they are all partisan.  Fully independent investigation needed."  He joins Roy to expand on this. Brian Peckford was Premier of Newfoundland and Labrador for twelve years.  Mr. Peckford, in two blog pieces this week, is very critical of the use of the Clerk of the Privy Council to defend the federal government in the Trudeau/Wilson-Raybould/SNC-Lavalin/PMO issue and particularly the CBC for its reporting of the situation. The National Energy Board gave TMX the green light, and there is a developing scandal in the B.C. legislature. Roy brings on CKNW host Mike Smyth to cover these issues and address how the byelection in Surrey could decide the fate of NDP leadership. Jussie Smollett continues to insist he is telling the truth, that he is the victim of a racist attack, and he has hired a legal defense to take his "I'm innocent" position to court. Meanwhile Smollett has been charged criminally as the perpetrator of a racist hoax, and was directly challenged by the Chicago Police Commissioner. Many, like Democrat Senators Kamala Harris and Cory Booker, tweeted their immediate support for Smollett and his claim. And some voices are saying Smollett's case should still be used to attract attention to the hate directed toward the LGBTQ and black communities. The European Union has agreed to a Brexit deal with the U.K., saying it is a one-time only offer. Will British Prime Minister Theresa May be able to sell this deal to a fractious parliament? The Northern Ireland political party supporting May has already indicated it is not interested. And will the current anti-government rioting in France affect the Brexit vote in the U.K.?
