Nick Rathod & Labid Aziz - Have you ever been to a barbershop and noticed that it's a space where Black men can talk about anything and everything - except for their mental health? The two guests in this hour are on a mission to change that. Labid Aziz (founder of PoC - ‘People of Culture' - Studios), and Nick Rathod (a political strategist and community organizer who most recently served as the Campaign Manager for Beto O'Rourke's race for Governor of Texas) are the co-creators of the #ImmaBeHonest campaign, an initiative that is using the power of storytelling and community to create safe spaces for honest conversations about mental health.

This week we cover the recap of Jason Mesnick’s season! It’s a season full of some amazing women (we love Melissa, Molly, and Stephanie the mostest), love, and some BIG drama. Because this happened a decade ago and news outlets and social media exists, it's no secret that Jason and Molly are married BUT it wasn’t Molly who got Jason’s final rose! Jason’s season really does have it all (except diversity). Danielle gives the tea! Tea includes: Astrid Loch & Kevin Wendt, Wells Adams, Ari & Lauren Luyendyk, Hannah Ann, Mike Johnson, Jesse Palmer, Marc Bucker & Marisia van Wyk, Ben Zorn, Becca Kufrin & Garrett Yrigoyen, Nick Viall, Vanessa Grimaldi, Jojo Fletcher & Jordan Rodgers. The POC (People of Color) points of the week was a total of FOUR. DISAPPOINTING. We honestly are not sure if Naomi Crespo is POC so we gave a bonus 3. We also saw Raquel Medeiros, for less than a second, who is from Brazil. If you’ve got some time and want to watch all of Jason’s season, it’s available on Netflix. This week Bachelor GOAT covered two seasons in one night - Alex Michel and Trista Rehn. Alex was the first Bachelor, and Trista Rehn (now Sutter) was the first Bachelorette. This episode was a time capsule back to 2002 and 2003 and man was that a rough time for fashion and eyebrows. We get to see lots of Bachelor Nation firsts: the first kiss, the first steal, the first “not here to make friends”, and the first medical emergency of the series. We also get to see the first wedding in Bachelor Nation history - the wedding of Trista and Ryan Sutter! There’s a reason Trista is referred to as the “Godmother” of the franchise, she’s such a sweet soul. We have tea this week, unlike Cassie. We discuss Tyler C., Kaitlyn Bristowe, Shawn Booth, and Garrett from Hannah Brown’s season. The POC (People of Color) points for the week were sad, VERY SAD, especially with the fact that we saw 2 recap seasons in one! We have talked about going back to "normal" since this Pandemic started, but for minorities and POC(People of Color) normal does not benefit them. The peaceful protests that are taken place right now due to the police brutality of African-Americans in the United States is the refusal to accept this as "normal". Join Trevor alongside his two guests, Gervon Tucker and Makari Whittaker, as they discuss how white privilege and systematic oppression have altered similar events in their lives. This discussion is used as an outlet to have a deeper conversation and shed light on how white privilege and other oppressing issues cause POC to experience unequal challenged in life. Please use this as an opportunity to spark further discussion with each other and learn how we can educate and grow collectively as a society and bring true equal rights to everyone! Wenn du also davon weißt, was tust du dagegen?

The topic of rural broadband and net neutrality couldn't be more timely. When we are all using our video chats for school, work and communicating with vulnerable family members; can you even imagine not having a reliable internet connection? Hard to believe, but that is the unfortunate reality for many rural and namely (POC) People of Color: among the underserved communities across the U.S. The FEC does not even look at demographics in their broadband reports to assess for discrimination and inequality. The maps of coverage are also misinformed and hurt the case for those who do not have access when the FEC maps claim that they do. The USDA is the one pumping money into this, but that will give them control. When there are many public good such as healthcare and education that needs an even playing field with access to high speed internet. How does limited internet access affect everyday lives? How is limited internet access going to affect the upcoming election? Our lives exist online and everyone deserves access.
