In 2009, Douglas Simmonds, son of RAF pilot, Leonard Simmonds, who'd acquire a small cuneiform tablet while serving in the Middle East in the 1940s, took his father's tablet to Dr. Irving Finkel, one of the world's leading Assyriologist, a curator at the British Museum.  Dr. Finkel translated the tablet and discovered that it contained a remarkable account of the Mesopotamian Flood story, where Atrahasis, the Mesopotamian Noah, was commanded by Enki, the son of the High God An, to construct a circular boat to survive the deluge.The tablet, known as The Ark Tablet, dated to the Old Babylonian period (circa 1900-1700 B.C.), is particularly significant for its detailed portrayal of the ark as circular in shape, its emphasis on housing the heart of life within, its meticulous attention to waterproofing the vessel, and for its focus on the ark as a sanctuary offering protection from the catastrophic floodwaters.  These elements collectively suggest that the ark was not just a boat, but a temple- a microcosmic model of the macrocosm.Join us for this episode and visit us on the web at theancienttradition.com and www.youtube.com/@theancienttradition for more amazing comparative religion.

Working with Johns Hopkins researchers under an NIH Sprint for Women's Health grant, AlgometRx is developing pain response data sets for patients with systemic lupus and carpal tunnel syndrome. The startup is also a member of JLABS, Johnson & Johnson Innovation's life sciences incubator, where they get valuable insight into the Nociometer platform's potential role in pharmaceutical research.Running a lean operation lets AlgometRx prioritize data. Jackson is the startup's only full-time paid employee. Dr. Finkel, AlgometRx's board, and a network of consultants and contractors bring their expertise as needed. “We don't have a robust employee base, but we have a robust team,” Jackson says. “We've run this lean approach where we only bring in people as needed. Obviously, our investors love that idea because it's spending money on device development and data generation.”

Christian Longo, 19, married his wife MaryJane, 26, in 1993 in Ann Arbor, Michigan. The couple had three children in rapid succession, Zachery, Sadie, and Madison. Chris was the sole breadwinner in the family and after his business, Final Touch Construction Cleaning, began to fail, he struggled to keep his family afloat and soon turned to a life of crime to make ends meet writing counterfeit checks. The family was in dire straits financially and had alienated all of their friends and family through Chris' lies and deception.They decided to head to the Oregon coast for a fresh start but soon Chris and MaryJane were out of money and options. On December 19, 2002, the body of Zachery Longo, 4, was found floating in the water. Soon after, his sister's body was found in the same waters; later two suitcases were found containing the bodies of MaryJane and Madison.
