Ever feel torn between holding on and letting go? This episode explores two emotional pairs that show up during life's toughest decisions: hope vs. grief and determination vs. surrender. These moments often arise in relationships, jobs, or personal goals—when you're not sure if pushing forward is strength or if letting go is the wiser path. The discussion reflects on how hope can be uplifting but may also be a mask for fear of grief, while grief, though heavy, often brings relief and clarity. We also learn that determination can turn into denial, and surrender isn't weakness, but an act of deep self-awareness. Drawing from yoga philosophy and neuroscience, the episode encourages tuning into your breath, intuition, and honesty to make these decisions—not from fear, but from presence. With relatable examples and powerful metaphors, like losing and finding an earbud, this episode helps you reflect on your own life moments. If you've ever asked, “Should I keep going or let go?”—this is one you don't want to miss.Episode Chapters:00:00:00 Introduction00:02:11 Hope vs. Grief00:04:17 Surrender and Yoga Philosophy00:05:23 Neuroscience of Hope and Grief00:06:20 Reflection Prompts00:07:06 Emotional Nuances of Letting Go00:08:52 Real-Life Example: Lost Earbud00:11:29 Determination vs. Surrender00:13:09 The Role of Intuition00:13:45 Yoga Lens: Tapas and Balance00:15:52 Asana Practice as a Metaphor00:17:06 Breath and Somatic Awareness00:18:45 Surrender is Temporary00:20:51 Reflection Practice00:21:48 Preview of Next Episode—-------—-------—-Michael Henri's Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/michaelyoga.pt/ Going Pro Yoga's Instagram: https://www.instagram/com/goingproyoga/—-------—-------—-Tags: hope, grief, determination, surrender, emotional duality, yoga philosophy, tapas, ishvarapranidhana, letting go, resilience, burnout, intuition, presence, life transitions, neuroscience, dopamine, limbic system

Today, we're diving into a question every believer faces: When should we keep knocking, and when should we wait? Life presents us with many doors—opportunities, decisions, challenges—but how do we discern which ones to walk through and which ones require patience? Our springboard for today's discussion is: Matthew 7:7-8—"Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you."Faith is not passive; it requires action. Jesus calls us to ask, seek, and knock. But He also calls us to trust His timing. Some doors open instantly, while others remain shut for a season. And then there are those that seem closed, but with persistent faith, they swing wide open at the right time.Think of Paul in Acts 16. He and his companions tried to enter certain regions to preach the gospel, but the Holy Spirit prevented them. Instead of forcing their way through, they remained sensitive to God's leading. Eventually, Paul had a vision directing them to Macedonia—a door God Himself opened. How often do we get discouraged when a door doesn't open immediately? Faith is both about stepping forward and knowing when to wait. Prayer is the key to discernment. If a door remains closed despite your efforts, ask God if it's a matter of timing or if He has another path. Sometimes, the answer isn't "no" but "not yet."Question of the Day: What is one door you've been knocking on, and how do you sense God leading you in it?Let's Pray: Lord, help us trust You with the doors before us. Give us discernment to know when to push forward and when to wait. Strengthen our faith to persist in prayer and follow Your leading. The climate crisis is worsening each day that passes, and yet society continues to turn a blind eye to its alarming impact on the entire planet. Climate activist George Paxinos, celebrated as the world's most cited neuroscientist, has decided to try a different approach to catch everyone's attention regarding this matter: eco-fiction. Sitting down with Corinna Bellizzi, he talks about his first novel, A River Divided, a story about two parties fighting over the Amazon Rainforest. George explains how his narrative aims to challenge readers to stand up and take part in the battle of nature versus nurture. He also discusses his goal to have a reset of religion, science, and culture, as well as how the ethics of scientific exploration and climate crisis might intersect. About George PaxinosGeorge Paxinos is a visionary neuroscientist who has discovered and mapped more brain regions than anyone in history. He uses principles of the mind, free will, and consciousness from neuroscience to shape the characters of his eco-fiction novel, A River Divided. An environmentalist himself, his novel explores some of the most important questions of the 21st Century: Is the human brain capable of solving the environmental crisis it created? Is this generation creating the conditions for the extinction of its progeny? In a battle of nature versus nurture, which will be victorious?Science and idealism are woven together in this novel about the search for meaning, for love, and for an understanding of what is important for us both as individuals and as actors in the environment. The characters of A River Divided will stay with you long after you read the powerful and evocative last sentence: “A Child, I will bring to the world a child.” Guest LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/georgepaxinosGuest Website: https://neura.edu.au/researchers/scientia-professor-george-paxinos-ao Love the show? Also, he is the author of the global best-selling business book DOUBLE DOUBLE - in its 7th printing and in multiple translations around the world, as well as Meetings Suck and The Miracle Morning for Entrepreneurs. Always look at the brighter side. The downturn is the best time to step up and grow your wealth. The best time to get ahead from everyone in business, invest in relationships, and in you. It has been proven by Cameron's experience on the past recessions and depressions. He never hides in fear but learns to adapt to the situation and apply the right mindset. He had bought multiple shares in big companies at a very low price and was able to grow his assets when everybody was in shock and distress. Moreover, you must be wise about how you spend your time, especially on social media because it's taking away the time you are going to spend on marketing, sales, & driving your business forward. Everyone must be strategic on applying the time, money, and people in the right area and getting away from doom and gloom. Instead, think about how you are proactively going to grow during this time. Stop consuming your time on uncontrollable things. According to Cameron, “God grants the serenity to accept the things that I cannot change, the courage to change the things that I can, and the wisdom to know the difference.” Thus, find the things you can control and control those. Surround yourself with the people in alignment with your core values, and consume content from different perspectives. Because there's a lot of opportunities to grow your skills set and your mindset right now as thought leaders are giving away more content than ever for free. This is a good time for an abundance mindset and people to focus on their growth! Some Questions I Ask: What feels different about this time than previous or does it feel different? (01:17) Where do you see the biggest challenge for the small business owner/entrepreneur/operator right now that if they lean into it they can weather the storm and get in front of it? (03:32) How can someone be more aware & attentive to the information or the influence of people or environments or resources that they're having over them right now? (06:05) Tell me about some of the opportunities that people should be paying attention to right now? (07:56) How do you continue to create and build culture and to create efficiencies and productivities? (09:20) What are some of the things that you have seen in some of those amazing companies that are remote with the great culture that they have implemented?
