What a statement Sunday in Week 8! We break it all down here on the Korner Booth Podcast! From the Broncos dismantling the Cowboys to the Jets FINALLY getting their first win of the season, this weekend had it all. Let's break down all the action from Sunday's slate! TOP STORYLINES **JETS WIN! AARON GLENN GETS HIS FIRST!** The New York Jets are finally in the win column! After starting 0-7, they came back from a 14-point deficit to beat the Bengals 39-33. Breece Hall had a monster day with a wild passing TD, and the Jets offense finally came alive for new head coach Aaron Glenn. Cincinnati's defense continues to be a disaster at 3-5. **BRONCOS EMBARRASS COWBOYS** Denver put on an absolute clinic, crushing Dallas 44-24 behind Bo Nix and a relentless ground game. RJ Harvey scored THREE touchdowns as the Broncos extended their win streak to five games. Dak Prescott threw two picks in an ugly performance, and Denver's defense made the Cowboys look silly. Sean Payton got his revenge on the team that courted him multiple times! **SAQUON'S REVENGE GAME** Saquon Barkley torched his former team, averaging 10.7 yards per carry as the Eagles dominated the Giants 38-20. Philadelphia rushed for 277 yards total in their best ground performance of the year before Barkley exited with a groin injury in the third quarter. The Giants' run defense remains a glaring weakness. **JONATHAN TAYLOR MVP CAMPAIGN CONTINUES** The Colts' star RB is putting together an incredible season, averaging nearly 17 yards per carry (!) against Tennessee as Indy rolled to victory. With Daniel Jones at QB, Taylor has been the focal point of Shane Steichen's offense and he's been money all year. ##
Matt Jones and Drew Franklin start with the Packers win over the Steelers. Jordan Love has 20 straight completions at one point. Do QB's specifically target tight ends because it's 'National Tight Ends Day'? The Jets and Aaron Glenn get their first win of the season with a comeback over the Bengals. The Eagles get past the Giants, but the focus is the Cam Skattebo injury. The Broncos cruised past the Cowboys, is it time to believe in Bo Nix? The 'Simpsons' curse continues and Matt reveals his favorite character. A big game from the Bills over the Panthers. Matt is really concerned for the Bears after a loss to the Ravens. When is Lamar Jackson returning? Greg Olsen noted a change in coaching strategy on close field goals. Matt offers his condolences on the passing of Fmr Jets OL Nick Mangold. Looking ahead to Commanders-Chiefs on MNF, Drew wonders if the game could be a rout. Are Eli and Peyton Manning the most popular former players? A surprising win for the Dolphins over the Falcons. A historic performance from Myles Garrett, but the Browns lose to the Patriots. The Bucs cruise past the Saints and the Colts still look like the best team in football at 7-1!See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
Chris Long reacts to Saquon Barkley and the Philadelphia Eagles coming alive and dominating the New York Giants. Saquon ran early and often, finally getting a run longer than 20 yards, and Jalen Hurts, DeVonta Smith and Dallas Goedert were all on the same page. Jaxson Dart and the Giants couldn't get things going, especially after Cam Skattebo went down with an injury in the first half. Around the league, Tua Tagovailoa bounced back from a horrible last two games and had a solid performance against a really good Atlanta Falcons defense, Drake Maye continued his dominance and the Denver Broncos and Dallas Cowboys delivered a great football game. Rich weighs in on the Indianapolis Colts improving to 7-1 and makes the case for RB Jonathan Taylor as the NFL's MVP frontrunner, and laments the passing of former Jets center Nick Mangold at the age of 41. Rich also wonders if Browns DE Myles Garrett regrets re-signing to stay with Cleveland who dropped to 2-6 despite his 5 sacks in Week 8, and comments on Tua Tagovailoa's big game to get the Dolphins a win over the Falcons, and on Justin Fields silencing his critics, namely Jets owner Woody Johnson, with his stellar game in New York's stunning 4th quarter comeback to knock off Joe Flacco and the Cincinnati Bengals.
