Dr. David Brown, Pastor Emeritus of the First Baptist Church in Oak Creek, has a Masters in Theology and a PhD in History, specializing in the history of the English Bible. In addition to his study of the English Bible he's also President of Logos Communications Consortium. For years he has conducted research on witchcraft and the occult. He is author of the book, The Dark Side of Halloween and also a research paper, Unmasking the Truth About Witches. There's an unleashing of darkness taking place throughout society today. Each Halloween seems to get darker as witchcraft, the occult and sensuality are all merging. So while you may think that witchcraft and those who deal with it are a thing of the past, you need to think again. According to Google Trends data, witch costumes were the most popular Halloween costume search in 2022. Last Wednesday, the most popular horror films in each state were released and some of the top movies by state deal with witches. Then on Monday of this week, LifeSiteNews.com ran a story indicating that the International Association of Exorcists recently published a book warning that Halloween, as practiced today, is closely connected to witchcraft and Satanism. So join Pastor Brown as he exposes the lies that witches tell and the proliferation of witchcraft, not only around the United States, but increasingly around the world. For example you'll hear:Why today's Wicca (meaning witch-like) isn't the oldest religion in the world like we're led to believe. The connection between Wicca and Satanism. Why it's a lie when Wiccans say they only engage in white magic, are family friendly and wholesome.

The Reproving and Approving Hand of God by Lighthouse Baptist Church | Williamsport, MD
This episode emphasizes the importance of living for Jesus and the power of dedicated preaching. It incorporates teachings from Paul to the Romans and Timothy about presenting oneself as a living sacrifice and preaching with conviction, even when it involves reproving and rebuking sin. Through scriptural references from Romans, 2 Timothy, and 1 John, the episode explains how true preaching should convict, correct, and encourage believers to walk in fellowship with God. The speaker concludes by urging listeners to share the gospel and support preachers who are spreading the Word of God. 00:00 Introduction and Call to Worship 00:33 Living for Jesus: A Life of True Devotion 01:44 The Importance of Preaching the Word 02:38 Reproving and Rebuking Through Scripture 06:33 God's Call to Reason and Repentance 09:02 Encouragement and Exhortation 10:03 Conclusion and Final Blessing
It was God's purpose from the beginning not merely to redeem sinners from His condemnation but also to bring those people into a special relationship with Himself. It is His desire to draw mankind closer to Himself than any other of His creatures and to establish a most special link between His people and Himself. Trials, then, have a purpose. They awaken us to a sense of our self-pleasing ways and to our indifference to the condition of the world we live in – not only as being a world of sin but thoroughly, and all over, a world of misery. They bring us into contact with solid certainties, and that produces thoughtfulness. They make us acquainted with grief, which drives off all levity. Since we know that God has our best intentions in mind, what should move us? What can ruin our joy? Our rejoicing is in the Lord, and He is good and has good plans for us. We know that this current life is not our rest, nor do we wish it were, for it is polluted; but our joy is this, that Jehovah is our God, and His promised glory is our inheritance forever. We are being molded and shaped into a vessel fit for His Kingdom! Do not seek, then, to please yourself, even as Jesus did not seek to please Himself. Live for Him, not for yourself. Live for Him, not for the world. Walk worthy of your name and calling. Walk worthy of Him who bought you as His bride. Walk worthy of your everlasting inheritance. Earth's dream will soon be done, and then comes the day of songs and everlasting joy (Isaiah 35:10) – the long reality of delight! About the Author In 1808, Horatius Bonar was born into a family of several generations of ministers of the gospel. He graduated from the University of Edinburgh and was ordained in 1838. As a young pastor at North Parish, Kelso, he preached in villages and farmhouses, proving himself to be a comforter and guide. In 1843, he joined 450 other pastors to form the Free Church of Scotland after the “Disruption.” Horatius Bonar wrote numerous books, tracts, periodicals, and more than 600 hymns. He believed that people needed truth, not opinions; God, not theology; and Christ, not religion. From his first sermon to his last, he ended with “In such an hour as ye think not, the Son of Man cometh.”

A new MP3 sermon from Master's Bible Church is now available on SermonAudio with the following details: Title: Reproving Those Who Contradict: Egalitarians & Women Pastors Subtitle: Titus Speaker: Justin Hornbaker Broadcaster: Master's Bible Church Event: Sunday Service Date: 3/24/2024 Bible: Titus 1:9; 1 Timothy 2:11-15 Length: 78 min.
The same word can mean different things. One example is the word, fish. This word can be used as a verb or a noun. To understand the word one must understand the context. In John 3:16 we see the word, world. We know that God did not send His son to save the world because we know that the world will be destroyed. The word refers to humankind, persons. In John 3:19 the word world means the same thing, mankind. He didn't die on a cross to save planet Earth, the trees, or nature. For God so loved mankind, He gave His only Son. The Trap 1 John 2:15 we see the same word, world. This word means the wicked, worldly. The things of this world, are sinful, and the things that keep pulling people away from God. Love not the sinful (world[ly]) things. Matthew 5 says to love the enemies therefore we are not to hate them. Bless them not curse them. Love them and not hate them. Care for their soul. Love the sinner and not the sin. Each and every person is a sinner and He loves each and every person. He hates and despises the sin. Reproving a person means one loves another. A lost person loves the things that are in the world, the sin of the Earth. The problem is not the nature we live in, it's the human race. Adam and Eve sinned first by disobeying and rebelling against God, it wasn't the fruit or the tree. The blame can't be placed on anything other than Adam and Eve. If you love the world today then you've been caught in the trap. Until one understands 1 John 2:15 then one will not understand John 3:16. The first thing a person thinks that to be saved they must give up _______, fill in the blank. That “thing” is a sin and they think they must remove it before they can be saved. This is not true because we can't save ourselves. God saves and He cleans house kicking out the “things” that need to be removed. The Lust 1 John 2:16; the lust of the sin (world). God will never tempt you with a sin. He will never tempt you with beer or a naked woman. There is a war going on in a saved person's life. There is an outward man and an inner man. The inner man is the saved person's soul, holy. The outward man is the flesh that is sinful and lusts after sins. Lust is built into a person. Anything that is not of faith is a sin. Have you given yourself to God completely? When was the last time you attended a church service? When was the last time you read your bible or studied it? When was the last time you repented of your sins? When was the last time you hated someone? A lost person doesn't understand an inner and outer man. A Christian understands this and is at war with the person in their mirror. The inner man drags the outward man to church because the outward man doesn't want to go. The flesh has desires. The eyes have lusts. Then there is pride that everyone has and must be dealt with because it's a hurtful, wicked thing. Life 1 John 2:17; humankind will die, all of us. 1 Corinthians 15, when a Christian dies the flesh (outward man) is left behind and the soul (inner man) goes to Heaven. The dead will rise first (those that are already dead). Some people are missing, some are ashes in urns or scattered, and there are also some in the ocean. All of those people's souls will be brought back alive. If they were saved then they will be in Heaven. However, if one is lost then they will also live forever but they will NOT be entering into Heaven but into Hell. They will beg to die but they will never die, they will be tormented in Hell for eternity.

But all things that are reproved are made manifest by the light- for whatsoever doth make manifest is light. Wherefore he saith, Awake thou that sleepest, and arise from the dead, and Christ shall give thee light. --Ephesians 5-13-14---The Ephesian Church had been quickened and made alive. but as seen by the letter to this church in Revelation 2-1-7 they had at that time left their first love, Christ.--Paul in his epistle to them gives them -and the church to the end of time- warning as to how they should guard against going back to the practices they had been brought to repent of.--In the two verses of the text we are to----1- Take heed to the light that reproves-2- Take heed to our own condition - Sleepiness and among the dead-3- Have regard to the promise. -Christ shall give thee light-

Jesus himself asked heart-probing questions and in doing so, the people had to evaluate themselves. It is never enough to train children what not to do; we need to tell them what to do. That's what it means to train them in righteousness, to walk in the wisdom of God's word. We are administering grace and mercy when we take the time to diligently train our child up in the way they should go. I love you too much to allow you to disobey and live foolishly. There should be a clean slate and forgiveness after consequences. We are responsible as parents to teach our kids the word of God, but it is God's word that actually convicts and brings about change. It is not about us, they still have a choice. It is never too late to begin training a child in God's word. How does God want you to obey? Right away, all the way, and with a happy heart. Daily Prayer: Lord, help me to be wiser than my children. Journal and Reflection Page - Ginger Hubbard

Our Parallel Look at The Gospels, with some extra rambling. The Gosepels are supposed to be a linear view of the life and times of Jesus Christ. Yet when you look objectively and in a parallel manner, they contradict each other to say the least.
All Scripture is God-breathed and useful for reproving and correcting. This midweek worship on exposing sin's deceitful via a "Hand-Heart-Head approach" provides practical and powerful hope for those ensnared by sin. 2nd Timothy 3:16-17
