Riverdale zaskoczyło nas nowymi informacjami (jak co tydzień). Po 5. odcinku 5. sezonu przyszedł czas na omówienie i analizę ostatnich wydarzeń. Ten odcinek nie był tak intensywny i zmieniający świat wokół naszych bohaterów, jak ten poprzedni. Przyniósł jednak sporo nowych faktów, a także wydarzeń, które mogą mieć wpływ na dalsze losy naszej paczki przyjaciół. Wszyscy oprócz Archie'ego wrócili do Riverdale na chwilę - okazać się może, że zostaną na stałe. Andrews próbuje za wszelką cenę uratować miasto, Jughead potrzebuje natychmiast pomysłu na powieść i pracy, Veronica próbuje przechytrzyć męża, a Betty węszy spisek i wciska nos w nieswoje sprawy. Hiram Logde postanowił "zlikwidować" Riverdale, by przejąć ziemię, ale ostatnim bastionem broniącym się przed gangsterem jest Riverdale High. Szkoła staje się prywatnym ośrodkiem i zatrudnia... Reggie finds out about Kevin and Fang’s tickle videos and wants in. After filming one he convinces Kevin and Fang that they should cut out the middle man and do it themselves. Kevin talks to the producer and is able to step away but after the producer finds out that Kevin, Frag and Reggie are doing their own tickle videos he threatens Kevin to give him 40 percent. Reggie counters by meeting the producer with the rest of the football team and says he’ll he nothing and if Kevin is hurt the team will take care of business. Principal Honey calls Kevin, Fang and Reggie into his office to tell them about a call he received about the tickle videos. Kevin says it’s true and they were done off school property and with clothes on. Honey says that some videos have students wearing Riverdale High logos and this makes it his business. He orders them to take it down. Archie and Betty try to sort out their feelings. Archie composes a song for Betty and Betty reads her 5th grade diary about when she met Archie. When Archie plays his song for Betty she stops him and says that they are acting like this because of so much uncertainty about the future. She loves Jughead and he loves Veronica and they need to.l focus on those things and the future. Archie goes home and tells his mom that he’s ready to take enrollment to the Naval Academy seriously. Jughead and Charlie keep pursuing who is making the video tapes. The trail leads to Ethel who denies any involvement but a search of her pace uncovers the second tape Bret made of Jughead and Betty. That leads them to a room at a local video store that rents taboo videos. The room is shut down much to the chagrin on Principal Honey. Veronica and Cheryl are threatened by rival maple liquor sellers. When Veronica refuses to stop selling to college campuses they smash up the Maple Club. Cheryl backs out of the business arrangement with Veronica. Veronica thinking Hiram is behind the rival gang tells him to back off. Hiram goes to take care of the gang but gets beat up. He goes back later and shoots and kills the leader. Cheryl calls Jughead and Betty to tell them she has gotten a video recreating Jason getting shit by his father. The Flashback episode!! The parents are so sensitive- loosely tied to one murder and they all abandon hope and just give up? Classic Riverdale in that they try to make us forget details about people we already know like: FP joined the serpents after his dad kicked him out when he was 16 and the Fred Heads played the homecoming dance while Hal and Alice were crowned homecoming queen/king fighting about the baby. The real surprise was how hot Tom Keller and Sierra were, damn that kiss though. Also surprise hot moment by the vending machines between FP and Hermione. No one in the writers room seems to understand how pregnancy works. If Alice is pregnant at the top of the show then she is at least a month along, then after 5 or more weeks of G&G we are looking at 2 or 3 months along in the pregnancy - there is no way Hal would believe that baby is his. Its going to take another 10 million rewatches to try and unpack all of that but give us a listen and then shoot us a message on instagram @swimminginsweetwater or twitter @swimsweetwater because we need to discuss the detention practices of Riverdale High.

It's finally arrived, Riverdale Chapter 35 "Brave New World", and Kyle and Noah are here to discuss! Jughead lives, but the Serpents are worse for the wear, and with Sheriff Minetta moving on the White Wyrm, they make their escape to the Northside of Riverdale, welcomed by Archie and Fred Andrews. Betty struggles with the guilt of her father being the Black Hood and understanding the Darkness within her, while Polly makes a mysterious play for the members of The Farm. Veronica attempts to block her father's acquisition of the White Wyrm, striking a deal for Pop's Chock'lit Shoppe. Finally, Archie rallies the students of Riverdale High to keep the Serpents in school, confronts Hiram Lodge about all he knows, and is then struck down as he reaches his peak. All this, plus general thoughts on Season 2, some unapproachable RPG talk, and general plans for Sabrina and Season 3! Maple Syrup, Blood Money is back after a brief hiatus for Episode 28, The MSBM Double-Feature! Noah and Kyle return to talk the latest two episodes of Riverdale, Chapter 23 "The Blackboard Jungle" and Chapter 24 "The Wrestler". A lot has happened in Riverdale since the Black Hood met his end; Hiram Lodge efforts to expand his SoDale project continue full-steam, seemingly aided by Veronica. Archie is wrangled by the mysterious FBI agent Arthur Adams to collect evidence that Lodge Industries is up to no good. Meanwhile Jughead and the Southside Serpents are relocated to Riverdale High, facing discrimination and prejudice from the students and faculty. Tim & Bob continue to slowly burn out on a show that's not targeted at them anyway, but they still love Archie Comics. Still. Kevin, who was in the forest, hears the gunshots and rushes to find Midge crying. Moose, who shielded Midge from the gunfire, is hospitalized and survives. Following the incident, Archie founds a vigilante group called the Red Circle, to protect Riverdale High students. The Coopers receive a letter from "the Black Hood", taking responsibility for the shootings and the murder of Ms. Grundy, and detailing his intentions to target sinners. Polly leaves town, fearing for her babies. Meanwhile, Jughead begins his tenure at Southside High, befriends Toni Topaz, a Serpent, and refounds the school newspaper, the Red and Black, under the advisory of English teacher Robert Philips. Kevin keeps going out late at night, which concerns Betty. Betty follows him on one of his runs, which leads to him lashing out at her. Hiram tells Archie that he should utilize the Black Hood's main weapons for the Red Circle. Inspired by this, the Red Circle makes a video calling out the Black Hood.

Only a few more days until the next Riverdale.In the meanwhile, dig this:When we look back at American family life in the late 1930s, many of us view it not through the eyes of reality but, instead, thru the rose colored glasses of popular culture. If you were young yourself at that time, you have a more realistic memory of those years - but, if you're a baby boomer and beyond, you're more likely to imagine a typical American home, circa 1940, as being in Carvel where a teenager named Andy Hardy lives: clean, pleasant, prosperous, and where every challenge, crisis, or misadventure is resolved in time for a happy ending - complete with the occasional musical number.It's not surprising that we have this rosy vision of the past; after all, every entertainment medium did its best to create and sustain this image. Hollywood gave us a seemingly endless series of Andy Hardy movies, the Broadway stage gave us "What a Life!" which introduced the perpetually teenaged Henry Aldrich, and radio quickly turned Henry and his friend Homer into comedy characters that would endure for over a decade. As the 1940s progressed, the trend continued: perky teenager Corliss Archer came to radio in 1943, as did "A Date with Judy" - both sit-coms featuring a typical teenage girl dealing with her boyfriends, her often baffled parents, and the overwhelming dramas of high school social life. But it wasn't the stage, screen, or radio that would bring us our most enduring and innocent image of teenaged life; it was, instead, the comics.In December of 1941, just two weeks after Pearl Harbor, Pep Comics introduced a new character that continues to entertain readers to this very day - and his name is Archie Andrews. From the beginning, Archie was the epitome of the American teenager of the 1940s: dressed in a polka dot bow tie and a letterman's sweater that proclaimed his loyalty to Riverdale High, he drove a souped-up jalopy, hung out with the perpetually lazy Jughead Jones, and spent most of his time in a lovesick haze. Aside from occasional crushes on movie goddesses, Archie divided his affection between two teenaged beauties: Betty Cooper, a bright and down-to-earth blonde, and Veronica Lodge, a wealthy brunette who loved to toy with Archie's affections. Hitting just the right mix of familiarity, slapstick comedy, and small-town warmth, Archie and his pals were an instant hit with teen readers - and, in less than a year, the characters had made their way from comic books to a daily newspaper comic strip and to radio.In its first incarnation, "The Adventures of Archie Andrews" was a daily fifteen-minute radio series, aired over the Blue Network. Ratings were respectable and, after a brief move to a half-hour weekly slot, the five-a-week format returned on Mutual in 1944. But the series really hit its stride in June of 1945, when a largely new cast was introduced and it premiered over NBC in a Saturday morning slot that it would happily occupy for eight years. For the majority of the Saturday morning run, Archie was played by Bob Hastings, a talented young actor who had already made his reputation playing juveniles on dramatic programs. Woman-hating food-loving Jughead was played by Harlan Stone, perky Betty was played by Rosemary Rice, and the honey-voiced Veronica was played by Gloria Mann. If you were looking for subtlety or teenaged angst, you were never going to find it on "The Adventures of Archie Andrews"; in typical sit-com fashion, the plots usually revolved around some simple misunderstanding that quickly turned into bedlam. Aimed straight at a pre-teen audience, the programs were designed to be nothing more than loud, goofy, and fun - and, from the reactions of the studio audience that attended each live broadcast, the show was clearly adored by its listeners.
