The Teacher and the Preacher is a weekly radio program--hosted by Dave McGarrah, Senior Pastor at Deer Flat Church in Caldwell, Idaho, and Aaron Lipkin from Israel--that airs each Sunday at 10:30 am and 7:30 pm here on 94.1 The Voice KBXL and also on Sunday evenings at 5 pm on our sister station 790 KSPD. They are a unique phenomenon on the airwaves – a Christian and a Jew in an ongoing dialogue – celebrating the many commonalities but never shying away from the differences. They offer their listeners insights into each other's faiths that don't come up much elsewhere, that can only come through sincere conversation. The weekly discussion is more than a program about a topic; it's a demonstration of how God can bring two people together from 9,000 miles away to bridge the differences, learn from each other, and strengthen their own faiths. If you would like to learn more about this fantastic radio ministry, please visit their website at theteacherandthepreacher.com.Podcast Website: https://941thevoice.com/podcasts/the-teacher-and-the-preacher/
This summer, we're taking a short break from our regular podcast format, and instead have selected various installments from past message series given by James Emery White at Mecklenburg Community Church where he serves as the Senior Pastor. There are several critical areas of our spiritual life and our relationship with God that have both “good” and “bad” dynamics. When we confuse these areas, it can bring great spiritual harm. Today's episode comes from a Meck series titled "The Flip Side: The Bad Side of Good Things" with a look at "Good Guilt vs. Bad Guilt.” Episode Links Below you'll find the link to the full series if that's something you are interested in checking out, along with the sources that were used in the development of the message itself: “The Flip Side: The Bad Side of Good Things” Becca Cowan Johnson, Good Guilt, Bad Guilt: And What to Do with Each. Join us as Pastor Randy Mosher, Senior Pastor of Calvary Chapel of the Cumberland Valley continues leading us on a verse-by-verse journey through the Book of Jeremiah! In this study we pick up in chapter 28:10 and continue through all of chapter 29. In this section, we witness a bold confrontation between the true prophet Jeremiah and the false prophet Hananiah—a powerful reminder of the dangers of claiming to speak for God when He has not spoken. As we move into chapter 29, we'll unpack the famous letter Jeremiah sent to the Jewish exiles in Babylon—a message of patient hope, divine sovereignty, and future restoration. We'll explore what it meant then and what it still means for us today to "seek the peace of the city" and trust God's purposes, even in unfamiliar or difficult places. This is a rich and timely study about truth, discernment, and the faithfulness of God in the midst of trial. PDF Study Outline

In this powerful episode of the Built Different Podcast, Dr. Zach Clinton sits down with father-and-son evangelists Cliffe and Stuart Knechtle, the voices behind Give Me an Answer and leaders at Grace Community Church in New Canaan, Connecticut. Cliffe, Senior Pastor and founder of Give Me an Answer, has spent decades engaging skeptics and truth-seekers on college campuses across the nation, from Harvard and Yale to Stanford and UCLA. With a background from Davidson College and Gordon-Conwell Seminary, Cliffe has dedicated his life to presenting the Gospel with boldness and clarity. Stuart, Assistant Pastor at Grace Community Church and co-host of Give Me an Answer, holds master’s degrees in Divinity and Mental Health/Marriage and Family from Gordon-Conwell. He partners with his father traveling to universities, leading family ministries, and offering Christian counseling, while also engaging in debates and online outreach. Together, we unpack their testimonies, their call to ministry, and the generational legacy of faith that God has written through their family. We discuss the growing hunger for holiness among young people, the influence of media on culture, the dangers of building life on fleeting feelings, and the hope of the Gospel in seasons of suffering. The Knechtles also share how to effectively share your faith and live out 1 Peter 3:15—“Always be prepared to give an answer…with gentleness and respect.” Finally, toward the end of today’s conversation, the gospel is so clearly presented and a prayer of salvation is offered to help you or someone you love take that first step in receiving the grace and forgiveness God so freely gives to become a child of The King! If you pray that prayer to receive Christ for the first time, or maybe to recommit your life to Him during this episode, know that all of heaven rejoices over you as a son or daughter of God. If that decision is made, we encourage you to share it with a pastor or trusted friend, get connected to a local church community, dive into God’s Word, and allow the Holy Spirit to shape your journey of spiritual formation.

Send us a textStrong Women Strong WorldMary | Part 6Senior Pastor Keith StewartAugust 3, 2025Mary is the fourth-most mentioned New Testament character after Jesus, Peter, and Paul. Yet in the average Protestant church, she is typically ignored. Rarely will you hear a message devoted just to telling Mary's story. Or if you do, it sounds more like a sappy Hallmark commercial than the portrait we actually see of her in Scripture. It's time we get to know this prophetic, powerful woman who consistently points us to Jesus.____________Discussion Questions 1. What perceptions did you have of Mary before hearing today's message? If you have a church background, what sort of teaching did you have from pastors or other leaders in your church? If you have no church background, what was your understanding of Mary? 2. The level of poverty in first century Palestine was severe – affecting the vast majority of those who lived there. It's something that the holy family (Mary, Joseph and Jesus) experienced daily both personally and socially. People were hungry for hope in the midst of economic despair. Mary's song prophesies a new reality. In what ways has the church throughout the ages addressed the problems of poverty? If you don't know the answer to this question, use it as your homework assignment. 3. In this message, Pastor Keith addressed Mary's calling, her prophecy, how she prophecies, her Scriptural knowledge, and the things she predicted about her Son. Have you ever thought of Mary as a prophet? What stood out to you most about this? Why do you think so many churches downplay Mary's role as a prophet? 4. When it comes to the telling of the Christmas story, Pastor Keith laid the blame at the feet of the Church that has often watered down the radical and revolutionary message of Mary. Why is the church often the ones most guilty of telling a truncated, sanitized, overly simplified Christmas story? Luke's gospel is the most common Scripture read as it relates to Christmas, but the part about the Magnificat is almost always left out. Why is that? 5. There are definite and intentional parallels between the story of Eden and the story of Golgotha. Take some time to review this part of the message. List the parallels you remember. Why does this matter? How does it reflect the amazing unity of Scripture?

This summer, we're taking a short break from our regular podcast format, and instead have selected various installments from past message series given by James Emery White at Mecklenburg Community Church where he serves as the Senior Pastor. There are so many questions that people have about the Christian faith - both from people who would consider themselves Christ followers as well as those outside of the Christian faith. One of those has to do with whether there really is an "unforgivable sin" - something God has deemed so terrible that He cannot find the ability to forgive someone. We hope today's episode will shed some light on that question.
