In this episode of Biblical Anarchy, we confront the complexities of Romans 13 and the nature of governing authorities. We'll also scrutinize the presuppositions associated with state power and the conduct of Christians under different types of governance.Acknowledging the diverse Christian perspectives on this issue, we'll juxtapose our own interpretations with those from other Christian perspectives, including other libertarian and anarchist viewpoints. We delve into the significance of good conduct in relation to state authority and challenge the conflation of governance with the state apparatus. Our discussion goes beyond a mere exploration of the text to question the effectiveness of political power in upholding righteousness. With an eye towards the history of nations and the calling of our faith, we'll encourage a focus on Jesus Christ as the ultimate hope and leader. The pandemic is over, but the magnitude of network security holes exposure provided by the epidemic is now being addressed by delivering more tightly controlled micro-networks. The Nokia agreement will allow IBM to rapidly deploy those micro-networks around the world. Stephen Rose, General Manager for the Global Telecom Industry with IBM and Rakshit Mehta, Business Development Leader for Global Telecom Industry with IBM speak with Don Witt of the Channel Daily News about IBM's current direction with Nokia. Rhashit Mehta Stephen Rose Over the last 24 months, enterprise organizations have learned what hardware and functions can be grouped together to enhance performance and security. Those categories are now being enclosed in micro networks that the Nokia technology will allow IBM personnel to deploy quickly and efficiently while taking advantage of the 5G edge technology as well. Once the micro network is put in place, there will be more orchestration to put in place AI, automation, and analytics to enhance the micro network performance. This is all being accomplished with the Communication Service Providers in mind since they are the primary channel that IBM is using to implement these solutions. For example, retail operations will be able to take advantage of 5G and utilize real time AI to improve the customer experience as well as increase sales. Listen to hear about the new relationship with Nokia and the positive impact it will have. How does Microsoft Loop help you collaborate? Richard talks to Stephen Rose about the recent addition of Loop to Teams. Loop uses the Fluid Framework to provide collaborative spaces to create to-dos and other lists with multiple people working simultaneously, marking up and responding to information. Documents and other assets brought into a workspace can be added to emails and other documents while remaining live. Every time you open them, they grab the latest info from the documents in the Loop workspace. Appropriate security privileges still apply, but Loop makes it easier for folks to work the way they want to and take advantage of up-to-date info from the M365 accounts in your organization!Links:Inside Microsoft TeamsMicrosoft LoopFluid FrameworkData Loss PreventionFormsOneDrive for BusinessRecorded June 3, 2022

By the Costa Award-winning author of Pure, a profound and tender tale of guilt, a search for atonement and the hard, uncertain work of loving. An ex-soldier and recovering alcoholic living quietly in Somerset, Stephen Rose has just begun to form a bond with the daughter he barely knows when he receives a summons - to an inquiry into an incident during the Troubles in Northern Ireland. It is the return of what Stephen hoped he had outdistanced. Above all, to testify would jeopardise the fragile relationship with his daughter. And if he loses her, he loses everything. Instead, he decides to write her an account of his life: a confession, a defence, a love letter. Also a means of buying time. But time is running out, and the day comes when he must face again what happened in that faraway summer of 1982.

It's an interesting free market design on the surface, but the owner also exhibits some prime cronyism suggesting that this method of capture and use will do well because governments have the power to force companies to use aggregate derived from captured CO2. However, who knew that real life cops imitated art as much as they do in this instance? Eight members of Baltimore's elite Gun Trace Task Force have been accused of a range of organized crime-level charges that range from robbery and extortion, to faking evidence, planting drugs, dealing drugs, and other serious crimes. Six of the officers, Sergeants Thomas Allers and Wayne Jenkins, and Detectives Momodu Gondo, Evodio Hendrix, Maurice Ward, and Jemell Rayam, have all pleaded guilty. In unfit to exist news, Joseph Tigana III was arrested in 2008 and charged with running a marijuana-growing operation. Tigano entered a plea of not guilty and insisted that his case move quickly to trial. Instead, he languished in pretrial detention—jail—for nearly seven years before he finally appeared before a jury, which convicted him in 2015. In drug warrior news, Jeff Sessions is in a court battle with a 12-year-old medical marijuana patient with epilepsy, because he's cool like that. Hell, I'm still catching up on ones I couldn't get to last time! As always, I'm going to hit my supporters questions first, then the rest. But rest assured if you didn't hear your question answered here yet, I still have it and I will get to it soon. I promise! PAX LIBERTAS TRAILER This is a new record. Johann Walther was adopted out of poverty as a boy and could sing like a canary. Initially taking a series of courtly composer and cantor roles, he jumped at the chance to edit the people's first Protestant hymn book. It's a great untold story - the hymns of Luther and Walther began a rich musical tradition in Protestant Germany which changed the musical world. Without Luther and Walther we would not have the oratorios, cantatas and passions of Bach and the word-centred, 'Protestant' tradition of high-quality and complex music and hymnody we know today. Dr Stephen Rose from Royal Holloway University of London tells the story of Johann Walther, the man behind Luther's musical Reformation.Producer: Rosie DawsonPart of Radio 3's Breaking Free series of programmes exploring Martin Luther's Revolution.
Historian of science Simon Schaffer is interested in the purpose of beauty within evolutionary explanations. Taking the ideas of Charles Darwin as his starting point, he wants to know how and why the capacity to see beauty evolved and whether this powerful, fleeting and apparently most useless of attributes can really have an evolutionary explanation. Simon talks to neuroscientist and biologist Stephen Rose and film-maker and anthropologist Chris Wright about whether Darwin really can explain why he finds Mahler's 5th Symphony beautiful. This programme is part of a week of programmes looking at the history of ideas around Freedom.

What happens when America recovers from the current economic crisis? Do things go back to normal? Not necessarily, and certainly not for everybody, says Don Peck, features editor of The Atlantic. In his new book, "Pinched," he cites voluminous evidence that deep recessions leave lasting scars, and we may never be quite the same again. He says we need to take immediate action to limit the damage, and that the current narrow focus on government debt is wrongheaded. Economist Stephen Rose is less worried about America's long-term prospects, but he too says government needs to do more to revive the economy.
