Joe and Shawn recorded this on July 20th, so they started with the sad news of Greg Knapp being in critical condition. They then moved to the Cam Akers injury and what the Rams will do. Next, they discussed how Younghoe Koo was more upset about his cleats being stolen than the Jeep they were in. The final quick hit was the Ted Ginn Jr. retirement announcement. The first big topic was the announcement of the Monday Night Football Live Podcast being hosted by Peyton Manning and his brother, Eli. Finally, Joe was forced to discuss the quarterback he does not want to name, Aaron Rodgers, and the leaked news of the 2-year extension he turned down. Beathard. Joining host Pat Fitzmaurice (@Fitz_FF) this week is one of his closest friends in the fantasy media, John Paulsen (@4for4_John) of 4for4.com. John and Pat start by pouring one out for Ted Ginn Jr. a longtime favorite of John's who just announced his retirement after 14 NFL seasons. Then the conversation turns to young quarterbacks, with John and Pat taking opposite sides on Trevor Lawrence and assessing the outlooks for Zach Wilson and Tua Tagovailoa. There's some talk about the Denver RB situation, with Pat touting Melvin Gordon as a potential value even with rookie Javonte Williams threatening Gordon's workload. John and Pat also discuss Darren Waller and George Kittle. As natives of Southeastern Wisconsin, John and Pat have been closely following the Milwaukee Bucks' playoff run, and they compare notes on Bucks fandom and the franchise's tortured playoff history. Pat also asks John about one of his former basketball coaches at the University of Wisconsin-Platteville, Greg Gard, who's now the head coach at the University of Wisconsin and whose strained relationship with some of his players recently became a national story. John offers a few musical recommendations, and then John and Pat discuss the Scott Fish Bowl and the DataForce charity draft they've been doing together, with some conversation about Cam Akers, Julio Jones, Terry McLaurin, Michael Thomas, Jaylen Waddle and Dionte Johnson. John and Pat also talk about their beloved Green Bay Packers, assessing the Aaron Rodgers situation, examining the value of Aaron Jones and A.J. Dillon, and trying to peg the Packers' WR hierarchy behind Davante Adams. What the bleep is wrong with Ted Ginn Jr is also discussed (30)!!!. We then went on a second explosive rant about the Chicago Red Stars' questionable trade to Racing Lousiville FC (1:00). --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/ben9314/message
Mike P. and Andy try to process the Bears ill-fated trip to LA. They try to do the kick return math for Cordarrelle Patterson, try to figure out what it is that Ted Ginn Jr. does and what Matt Nagy's fascination with Demetrius Harris is. How many of Nagy's 25 career wins are against winning teams? He probably would rather you don't know. Did former Bears great Brian Griese cause some QB room tension on Monday night? And what did he say was experiencing leakage? They also have some Netflix recommendations for you and a Michael Keaton joke. --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/desipio/message

Also, discuss Donovan Mitchell and Chris Paul not wanting the ball on the final play. Get ready for Buckeye ReTalkables, a new series in which Doug Lesmerises, Nathan Baird and Stephen Means watch an old Ohio State game and then break it down. NFC North Green Bay Packers (13-3 last year) How much does Aaron Rodgers have left? Still productive, but not as good as he once was. Drafted Jordan Love in the first round. Fantasy - Davante Adams, Aaron Jones (not worth a high pick in my opinion). Brought in Devin Funchess to be a weapon for Rodgers - has opted out this year. Minnesota Vikings (10-6 last year) Stefon Diggs - traded to Bills along with a 7th round pick for 1st, 5th, and 6th round picks in 2020, 4th round pick in 2021. Drafted Justin Jefferson out of LSU to replace him. Still have a lot of good players on that defense (Danielle Hunter, Anthony Barr, Harrison Smith). Top half of the league in most categories. Have lost a couple studs on that defense, though. Fantasy - Adam Theilen, Dalvin Cook, Jefferson. Kyle Rudolph - iffy. Chicago Bears (8-8 last year) Traded for Nick Foles - is Trubisky experiment over? Brought in Jimmy Graham and Ted Ginn Jr. - will that do anything to spark their offense? Brought in Robert Quinn (11.5 sacks, 2 FF last year) on Defense to help Khalil Mack. Top 10 Defense in most categories, but offense needs to catch up. Detroit Lions (3-13 last year) Is it time for a coaching change? Matt Patricia doesn't seem to add much. 3rd Pick overall - Jeff Okudah (CB) out of Ohio State Defense towards the bottom in most categories, worst in the league in pass defense. Matthew Stafford - will he get injured again/how much does he have left? Fantasy - Kenny Golladay/Marvin Jones Jr are both solid options. --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/slackerssportsshow/support
The Chicago Bears have yet to live down drafting current starting QB Mitchell Trubisky 2nd overall. Trubisky has mightily struggled over the past 3 seasons, but Bears fans had a bit hope now due to the press conferences with Mitchell Trubisky, Ryan Pace, and Matt Nagy. Mitchell Trubisky believes he has made major improvements with reading defenses and has supposedly changed his throwing mechanics for the first time ever, a trait that many people have been very critical of. Trubisky also mentioned that he has made major improvements with reading defenses and footwork. Matt Nagy also noted that the Bears athletic training staff has commented on just how good his shoulder looks and how well of shape he is in physically. But it hasn't just been the Chicago Bears front office and coaching staff that has voiced support for Mitchell Trubisky, but also players. Previously, Ted Ginn Jr. came out and said he views Trubsiky as the starter; the same sentiment has been echoed by Anthony Miller. In this episode of the Bear Necessities Podcast, Austin and Reece discuss whether or not they are buying in to the Trubisky hype and how they believe these improvements could impact his play on the field. In other news, Detroit Lions QB Matthew Stafford was placed on the COVID-19 reserve list, ultimately meaning that he has either contracted COVID or was in contact with someone who tested positive- Austin and Reece discuss how this could impact the NFC North and What it means for the NFL. Bears UDFA Artavis Pierce has also been elevated from the COVID Reserve list which ultimately means he can join the team for training camp. Ryan Pace was also Quoted this past week describing that he has felt the full support of the Chicago Bears Organization- Austin and Reece Discuss whether or not Ryan Pace deserves that safety or not. This past week also, Pro Football Focus came out in an article and claimed they believed that Allen Robinson could potentially be traded by the Chicago Bears. Austin and Reece discuss the possibility that Ryan Pace trades Allen Robinson away from the Chicago Bears, and give four other potential trade candidates. Finally, Austin and Reece round out the show with a discussion about Six potential Bears breakout candidates that could have a huge season ahead of them this year.
