Is this thing on? Music of the Mat rises from its slumber with a remixed format. Instead of analyzing wrestling songs, Andrew and a guest will play and chat about songs related to a wrestling concept, term, reference, pun, etc. Yes, it really is that simple. Andrew explains the reason behind the big change, then gets down to business with returning guest and absolute delight Maura Johnston. Together they tackle the topic of "in-ring debuts," playing songs off debut albums from Aerosmith, Madonna, The Killers, Oasis, George Michael, Neneh Cherry, Living Colour, and many more. After the emotional and sometimes brutal New Beginning in Osaka, New Japan took a lighter-hearted turn this week with Fantasticamania, when the stars of CMLL come to Japan for a brief tour filled with their brand of exciting lucha libre. It's also a time for some New Japan stars to loosen up, with Taiji Ishimori, Hiromu Takahashi, El Desperado, Hiroshi Tanahashi and others getting in on the act. Steven and Jeremy discussed seeing CMLL's Mistico, Mascara Dorada, Atlantis Jr., ,Volador Jr., Titan, Ultimo Guerrero, Soberano Jr. and others. They also looked at the first night of the tour from Osaka, and how Volador and Rocky Romero set things up for a class later in the week. They looked at key matchups ahead, including a women's match featuring Starlight Kid and Ruaka from STARDOM. Plus, they talked about how others who have made news in New Japan, such as Bryan Danielson, Jon Moxley and more will have a huge match in Arena Mexico later this month as part of these major promotions working with one another.
Steven Conway and Jeremy Finestone are joined by special guest and Japanese wrestling expert Scott Edwards on the latest episode of Speaking of Strong Style! The trio talked about Fantasticamania 2023, their favorite matches, why Mistico and Ultimo Guerrero are all-time greats, why Soberano Jr. is so fun to watch. They also discussed how New Japan stars such as El Desperado, Douki, Hiromu Takahashi, Master Wato and Tetsyua Naito worked with the CMLL stars. They also got into some New Japan Cup bracketology, playing out their fantasy brackets and predicting which contenders such as Will Ospreay, Shota Umino, David Finlay, Shingo Takagi, El Phantasmo, and SANADA will do. They give their reasons for their picks and thoughts on who will be facing whom at Sakura Genesis coming up. All this and more makes this a must listen for New Japan fans!

This week on Lucha Talk the Trio cover all things about Dylan's all time favorite wrestler, Blue Panther's 40th Anniversary Show. From Stukita flipping to Halcon Suriano Jr. and his future, to Pamterita del Ring's unexpected return to greatness, to the meaningless Trios match CMLL main events with for no reason, it's all gone over. Then things heat up with the return of the yearly Dia de Muertos shows, and of course the kick off next week with the Rey del Inframundo #1 Contender's match to see who will face Sansón at the hallowed shows. From there we give updates on Volador & Soberano in Japan, Ultimo Guerrero winning the CMLL Heavyweight Title, ROH's next two Luchadores coming in from CMLL, & Puma King going to DDT in Japan. We go through a AAA show Micro calls the Sunday Night Heat of Twitch, a Lucha Underground show with 4 times the Jake Strong, and we even get into Fredo's recent journey to PWG and what he thought of Hechicero vs Zack Sabre Jr. , meeting Bandido & Flamita, and the PWG experience. Follow the Trio on Twitter @DylanZeroSky - @therealfredo - @MICROMANFEVER
The trio is back talking Lucha, from a Friday show with conflicting takes on an exciting midcard match, universal praise for one of the best Lucha Matches of the year, the whole show turned out to be one of the best, yet up and down shows of the year with horrible things too. From there we run down Blue Panther's Anniversary Show and question the logic of having a Northern México/Guadalajara feud in México City, then speak on Fuego's interview in which he spoke out about his unhappiness in CMLL with his spot, where he should go if he wants to leave, and if he'll ever get his dream match with Ephesto! From there we hype Micro going to see Rush live at MLW's Chicago show, then Dylan has his thoughts on another interesting week of Lucha Underground. If you missed the news a couple weeks ago, issue six of the magazine is now out. It debuted at the Break the Barrier show in Old Forge PA, where Puma and his dad Felino wrestled Guerrero Maya Jr and Skayde. That match was the basis for our cover (by Kcidis) and cover story bios by The Cubs Fan (@luchablog). To talk about his article in the magazine, we were joined on the pod by Dr. Lucha Steve Sims. We discussed his article on the Alvarado Family (Los Brazos, Maximo, La Mascara), their history and how that related to what happened to Ultimo Guerrero's car, the guys who were and were not fired over the incident and all the things that connect to the incident. We also discuss some of the other big families in lucha right now: The Munoz Family (Rush, Dragon Lee, Mistico and Pierroth), the Ibarra Family (LA Park, Volador Jr, Super Parka), the Panthers (Blue Panther Sr and Jr, The Panther) and of course, the Casas Family (Negro Casas, Felino, Puma, TIger, Dallys, Canelo), After that, we talk about Matt's article on Gino Hernandez's time working in Houston for Pail Boesch. We talk about his matches there, both as a single and a tag team with Tully Blanchard. Unfortunately, Matt was unable to be on the podcast to discuss his article. But if you want to see many of the matches he wrote about and we discussed, you can see them on the NWA Streaming Service (at least as of this writing). Then there is a whole mish-mash of subjects, from what wrestling we could watch in the mid-1980s to watching wrestling in college (Steve in Chapel Hill in the 70s, me in Bloomington in the 80s) to a bunch of other stuff. For more information on the magazine, check out its page here on the website.

On this week's Lucha Talk, we help make sense of the craziest story in wrestling at the moment. We present you the information and details about La Familia Alvarado taking out their frustrations on Ultimo Guerrero's car. It's implications on the landscape of lucha libre now with two CMLL main-eventers and a possible "real-life" betrayer of Ultimo Guerrero. It makes up the bulk of the show but we also bring you the most complete coverage for news relating to Lucha Libre over the week. Aswell as full in depth reviews of CMLL and AAA's biggest shows of the week. Contact the trio on twitter @DylanZeroSky @therealfredo @LIGERFEVER
A week after one of the biggest stories of the year in Lucha, Dylan returns for a less hectic week in Lucha, though probably an even more hectic show. Unfortunately, we weren't at full strength again as LigerFever was under the weather (though he was still integral to the show with his editing & tech skills) & didn't appear. Fredo "The Constant" Esparza & Dylan team up for a loose conversation about Lucha Libre & its goings on. - Updates on La Rebelión & their interviews since leaving AAA - The Crash's recent moves & Konnan's recent comments regarding CMLL - How hard it is to get TV in México & what the scene's like there - A minor ELITE update - An update on Lucha Memes Chairo8, card changes, VOD & general confusion - A return to form for CMLL's Friday show as we break it down and somehow delve into Ultimo Guerrero in depth, and an update on Lucha Retro - Waxing nostalgic about Super Astros and what went wrong - And finally a Blue Demon update as the Telenovela somehow gets even weirder and we again question the historical accuracy of this show Follow us all on Twitter, as we aim to return next week in full force: @DylanZero0615 - @therealfredo - @LIGERFEVER

A big week in Lucha comes in with a bang as the shocking winner of Aztec Warfare took the twitter world by storm. The Trios go over the Aztec Warfare match itself, highs, lows, and plants galore. But none topping the controversy surrounding Sexy Star and the reaction afterwards. The LT Crew has their take. Despite getting made to look like a geek yet again in LU, Pentagón Jr. has a strong week in AAA, capping off a solid main event with Dylan & Liger Fever getting a tad uncomfortable translating his raunchy (but awesome) promo. DTU announced its first iPPV with an amazing main event of Negro Casas vs. Flamita which sounds great! ...If it airs. Elite held its swan song which gets universally panned and laughed at by everyone up and down this card. At least they decided against airing the infamous Blue Demon Jr. episode. The king himself Ultimo Guerrero rules CMLL yet again, in a surprisingly fun Leyenda de Azul. Talk about the CMLL bodybuilding show and next week's Dinastia tournament closes out a packed Lucha Talk. Happy Thanksgiving! *Special note: If interested check out the brand new Lucha Talk Playlist on youtube if you want to see some of the best matches of the week in Lucha all in one place! - youtube.com/playlist?list=PLIsRqe-vJk_uDTw7dHAc0ni-K8FQOURl9
This week's episode revolves around much of the shows that took place this week, kicking off with the man of the hour and the upset of the year in CMLL as Valiente was crowned the Universal Champion. The Dia de Muertos shows and concept is analyzed, and the Trios tries to make sense of why Ultimo Guerrero gets after his meaningless main event win on Sunday. FantasticaMania lineups were announce and they're covered all the way. Moving on to Elite we saw one of their best overall episodes including an espectacular Trios match, and the shocking throwing down of his Volador Jr. Fanclub headband by one host, who aligns himself with Rey Escorpión, who gets much praise. AAA also has a surprisingly solid show this week that gets broken down in depth including Psycho Clown's "return" and smart angles to build up their Team Trump angle. Lucha Underground is ran down as always and no punches are pulled at the effort this week from Boyle Heights. All that and a roundtable discussion on the streaming services for wrestling and the effect and the role we think Lucha promotions will play coming off the news of RIOT getting picked up by powerbomb.tv as well as rumors of FloSlam looking into México for content, with big news seemingly on the horizon down the line that we look ahead and speculate on. #PorraReyEscorpión
Kurt Brown (a.k.a. Vandal Drummond) and Fredo Esparza talking the latest in lucha libre news! Sit back and grab a snack as we discuss Mistic 2.0's departure from AAA and return to Arena Mexico, Ultimo Guerrero loses to Atlantis in the Universal tournament and comes up with his own conspiracy storyline involving Atlantis, Thunder, CMLL & Tony Salazar, CMLL Dia de Los Muertos, Electroshock's AAA status, recap of Heroes Inmortales matches, and the Stardom USA show in Baldwin Park, CA that we attended. Lots of news, lots of discussion (including wrestling t-shirt talk!) and a very heated debate on just how bad Thunder is! Over 2 hours long! (10/22/15) Get all the lucha libre news at LuchaWorld.com!
Hey yo. Your weekly episodic dose of wrestling commentary from the folks at Bleeding Your Colors, BLADING YOUR COLORS, is ready for consumption! Myself (Trevor Utley), Andrew Sanford, and Lou Kessler recap the week that was in the 'E. Normally, we would profess our undying love of NXT than wait to fall off the wrestling cliff. This week though had Night of Champions on the docket. In between a 60 second (yes 60 second!) recap of Smackdown and a better than usual Raw, Summerslam's follow-up PPV gets the BYC treatment. Andrew gives you the blow by blow of the recent Mask vs. Mask match between Ultimo Guerrero and Atlantis in CMLL. Lou helps him bring back the memories of the fifth ever edition of WCW Monday Nitro. We give a shout out to the winners of Chikara's King of Trios and then Lou tries his luck to guess the 20 (or 23) wrestlers with the most matches at Wrestlemania. Does Lou regain his smile after his recent woes with Guess the Card? Find out here and be sure to check out our other wrestling related shenaniganry on our Soundcloud page. As always if you can't get enough of us, go to bleedingyourcolors.weebly.com for more content.

Among the topics discussed are the end of local SoCal promotion, Millennium Pro Wrestling (MPW), balls dropping!, the upcoming lucha shows in Los Angeles including the legends show on 8/25 and UIPW-LA's upcoming shows including that same day bringing in Mascara Dorada and their big show on 9/8 in Pico Rivera featuring a ton of CMLL, Tijuana & local talent! La Secta turning on Cibernetico, AAA tryouts in San Jose on 9/14 & whether we should fund and sneak-in Aerostar into the tryouts in hopes of getting him TWO BOOKINGS at upcoming AAA shows, AAA talent heading to All Japan, New Japan wrestlers heading to CMLL, the insanity of Dave Meltzer's attempt to watch every NJPW G1 Climax show, failed Senfield impersonations, Negro Navarro and what would happen if he watched a WWE Divas match, the break-up of Fuerza TRT and the future of the Dinastia Casas, Ultimo Guerrero feuds, Vandal's favorite MPW matches and a ton more. Fun 1 hour show. This week's show intro is the infamous Anticristo promo from Tijuana! The Luchaworld Pocast is available on iTunes as well. (8/15/13) Get all the lucha libre news at LuchaWorld.com!
