What matters to our clients in private practice?Hello and welcome to this week's episode of the Business of Psychology and welcome to the new season. I'm really excited to be doing a new series of the podcast and we're kicking off with three episodes that are all about getting more clients into your practice or getting those first few clients, and what it takes in the modern setting to do that, because what I'm hearing a lot from people is that it feels like things have changed and that the industry is starting to change.I think there's an awful lot of positive change going on in our industry at the moment. I think that people are more interested and positive about mental well being than they ever have been before, and I think that they are far more likely now to invest in looking after themselves in terms of their mental health than they ever have been before. But there are also some difficulties in the industry at the moment. Not least, the difficulties caused by the wider economic climate, and I'm really aware of that. So in these next three episodes of the podcast, we're going to be talking about what we can do to make sure that we're running our businesses in the most effective and efficient way in this new climate, and that means not spending hours and hours on marketing, but really focusing on the stuff that is going to make a big impact.Full show notes of this episode are available at The Business of PsychologyLinks & References:6 Ways to Use Google Trends for Marketing (Hubspot)The aspects of healthcare quality that are important to health professionals and patients: A qualitative study (Science Direct)New Survey Asks: What Do Patients Want Most in a Doctor? That's actually what marketing means; marketing is actually the practice of putting the client's needs and desires at the forefront of business strategy. It's not about persuading people to buy stuff at all, it's about creating stuff that people naturally want, whether that's to purchase our paid for services, or whether that's services that they want to use in the public or the third sector. Now, in order to achieve that, we have to get to know our clients inside out and give them the best possible...

In this episode, Tracy Brinkman discusses how to generate endless content ideas. He recommends ten websites that entrepreneurs can use to get ideas for their next piece of content. These websites include sites like BuzzSumo, Quora, and Reddit.   Tracy discusses how important it is for experts in their field to come up with content ideas, and provides a list of ten websites that can help generate an endless stream of content ideas. The websites listed include: Quora, Reddit, Google Trends, and BuzzSumo. Tracy  emphasizes that the purpose of the list is not to provide ideas that can be copied and pasted, but rather to give experts an idea of what their audience might be interested in.   The conversation discusses the website Socrates which is a search engine designed to help you learn more about your target audience. You can use Socrates to find out what topics and keywords that are already popular inside your target audience as well as common problems they're facing and questions they're asking. The information from Socrates can be used to create content that is relevant and useful to your audience.   Quora is a website where people can ask and answer questions on any topic. It is a great resource for finding content ideas, as you can easily find questions relevant to your niche or industry.   TIMESTAMPS 0:00:00   10 Websites for Endless Content Ideas 0:02:14   10 Websites to Help You Generate an Endless Stream of Content Ideas 0:03:51   How to Use Socrates to Learn About Your Target Audience 0:05:34   How to Use Quora and Answer the Public to Create an Endless Stream of Blog Post Ideas 0:07:07   Quora: A Great Way to Generate Content Ideas 0:08:28   How to Use Various Websites to Generate Content Ideas 0:13:17   How to Use Various Online Platforms to Find Content Ideas for Your Life Coaching Business 0:19:04   How to Use Google Trends to Find Out What's Being Talked About in the Coaching World 0:20:36   10 Ways to Find Ideas for Your Life Coaching Business 0:22:21   Ten Websites for an Endless Source of Content Ideas   HIGHLIGHTS This is a great way to find some visual content that is relevant to your audience to help you come up with ideas that are both interesting as well as being visually appealing.   Now in this particular example, it's actually the introduction to one of the people Twitter is trying to get me to follow. But if I click on their profile, they have a whole host of great pieces of content in here.   And as you might expect, these conversations can be a great source of content ideas to get started. Once again, type in the keyword or phrase and see what people are tweeting about.   How you can as a life coach to keep up with this example and I beat this one down the ground, could give your prospects, your clients, your customers some great ideas for motivational gifts for their loved ones on the holiday season.   Reddit is one of the most popular websites in the world and it's also a great source of content ideas. Simply browse through all the various Reddits. Some of you may think of them as forums and see what people are talking about.

OVERVIEW: Jason A. Duprat, Entrepreneur, Healthcare Practitioner, and Host of the Healthcare Entrepreneur Academy podcast talks about the importance of risk mitigation as you plan for the future of your business. He shares practical advice for navigating risks such as industry changes, new competition, and emerging innovations. Be sure to listen to the end of the episode to learn about the upcoming HEA raffle Jason will host on Facebook.    EPISODE HIGHLIGHTS: Business constantly evolves. You have to think through potential risks and “what ifs” to survive anything that comes your way.  As the founder of your business, you must guide it into the future to not only survive but thrive! Be aware of trends and make plans to pivot and solve problems.  Jason identifies some of the things that may impact your business—innovation, macro and microeconomics, federal and state tax regulations, and shifts in adjacent industries. Every few months, play devil's advocate or the “what if” game to plan for the short-term, which is three to seven years. Top military leaders do this and it's called wargaming.  Use Google Trends to track shifts in different industries over time. Look at keywords related to your business. Monitor the fluctuations and don't ride a super flat or declining keyword trend.  Avoid diversifying your business until you have six to nine months of cash reserves in your business bank account to cover payroll and rent. At the same time, don't keep too much money in your reserves. The FDIC only insures up to $250,000 of business income in a bank account. Jason is launching a raffle for participants who rate and review the HEA podcast. The raffle will run 9/13-9/23 with a grand prize drawing on 9/24. Prizes will include Amazon gift cards, FitBits, HEA swag bags, course access, and a pair of AirPods. Jason will post a video with all of the details in the Healthcare Digital Business Group on Facebook. You must join the group to participate - jasonduprat.com/raffle.   3 KEY POINTS: Risk mitigation and planning are key for a business to thrive and grow in the future. Entrepreneurs should stay updated on current events and trends in their industry and adjacent industries.   Once your business has grown and you have saved enough cash reserves, use the additional money to reinvest or diversify.   TWEETABLE QUOTES: “You can come up with plans to mitigate risks - pivot certain areas of your business.” - Jason Duprat “Solutions are not going to happen overnight. You need to plan for those ahead of time.” - Jason Duprat   RESOURCES: Join the HEA Digital Business Facebook Group to enter the upcoming raffle:  https://www.facebook.com/groups/HeathcareEntrepreneurAcademy/ Subscribe to the HEA Podcast: https://followthepodcast.com/hea #HealthcareEntrepreneurAcademy #healthcare #entrepreneur #entrepreneurship #podcast #futureproof #futureofyourbusiness #plan #prepare #whatifplanning #businesstrends
