Valerie Miller survived her first night of being hunted by her father. She fled into town and begged for sanctuary at her grandparents' house, only to be rejected and driven back. But that night was just the first of the new normal, and with no one to rely on, Valerie realized she would have to dedicate her time to learning more about the world outside her home and she prepared for her escape. In the 1960s, 8-year-old Valerie Miller was pulled out of school and brought to live with her father, Tom Miller, an anti-government ex-soldier and survivalist who lived off the grid. Wanting Valerie to be able to fend for herself, he began teaching her survival skills and brought in his friend, Rick, to instruct her in hand-to-hand combat. Alicia Thompson grew up in Wollombi, country New South Wales. She developed her writing skills through a program of reading and short courses, which culminated in a Masters of Creative Writing at the University of Technology in Sydney. Her debut novel, Something Else, was published by Nine Star Press in October, 2021. Baker was also the first NSU athlete to ever play professionally, with stints with the Montreal Alouettes on the Canadian Football League from 1964-69, with the New York Giants of the NFL from 1970-71, and then for multiple teams in the World Football League thereafter ... Was a 2004 inductee into the NSUAF Sports Hall of Fame. Morris' contribution: 127 points. His total shot attempts are lost to history, but Morris made 57 field goals, a bucket about every 30 seconds. Marvin Williams was born 1974 in Washington DC.  He attended DC public schools until the 8th grade when his family moved to Maryland.  He graduated from Eleanor Roosevelt High School in 1993.  Raised by his father and mother, he and his brother and sister grew up in the Pentecostal Church.  Even as a small child, he always had a love for God, participating in plays and singing in the children's choir.  In 2000, he gave his life to Christ.  Brother Williams is the father of one son, Savion, who is ten years old.  He was ordained as a deacon in 2007 and now worships at The Tree of life Christian Ministries in Clinton, Maryland under Pastor James Robinson where God is doing wonderful things in the church.
