The guys from Dawgman.com - Kim Grinolds, Chris Fetters and Scott Eklund - hashed out all the main talking points after the Washington Huskies defeated the No. 23 Illinois Fighting Illini Saturday afternoon at Husky Stadium. And just like the weather coming off Lake Washington, the UW fans in attendance got to see a little bit of everything. They saw the Huskies go 6-6 in the red zone with 6 touchdowns, they saw the Huskies penalized 30 yards on one play, they saw a double pass between their Big 3 - Demond Williams, Denzel Boston, and Jonah Coleman. They saw Boston get career highs for catches and yards. And most importantly, they were able to see the Huskies come home, wash the bitter taste of a 17-point defeat at Michigan, and cap it off with a dominant offensive display as UW now goes into their second bye week before heading to Wisconsin. The guys talked about the key plays and drives that allowed Washington to get ahead and even go back into the lead late in the first half after Illinois had bounced back to take their own lead. And then they hashed out all the different adjustments that were made on both sides of the ball, the takeaways, the almost takeaways, the penalties, and everything else that happened during a day where the weather seemed to show all four seasons within a span of a few hours. After suffering their second loss of the season at the hands of Michigan, the Washington Huskies return home to host the 23rd ranked Illinois Fighting Illini. Former interns, Jack and Luke, get together to recap and preview the game. This week's matchup is perplexing. On one hand, Illinois is allowing nearly 300 passing yards per game to power conference opponents. On the other hand, the Huskies are scoring just 18.75 points per game over the past four contests. Jack and Luke discuss how Washington will look to get back in the driver's seat at the Greatest Setting and return to their high-scoring ways of early September. Additionally, Jack and Luke share their favorite bets of the upcoming weekend slate. Luke continues his dominant season while Jack will look to get back on track. Lifted by another strong second half against Rutgers, the Washington Huskies will carry a 5-1 record into Ann Arbor to take on the Michigan Wolverines on Saturday. Ex-Interns Jack and Luke rehash Washington's win over the Scarlet Knights before turning their attention to this upcoming weekend. Topics of discussion include Washington's recent slow starts and the challenge of playing a 9 AM Pacific Time game. On the brighter side, they discuss the likelihood of Demond Williams continuing his impressive sophomore campaign against a Wolverine pass defense that has allowed teams like Nebraska, USC, and Oklahoma to move the ball through the air. Luke also looks to continue his dominant Betting B1G season, where he currently boasts a 12-6 picking record and a six-game lead over Jack. The duo also picks a couple of players on each side of the ball that they anticipate performing well against Sherrone Moore's Wolverines on Saturday. Finally, Jack and Luke share their confidence interval that the Huskies can pull off a road win this weekend. - We still have a lot to talk about when it comes to last night's Game 3. The Mariners crowd showed out and Julio got them all fired up right away, but by the 3rd inning, things shifted dramatically and Toronto rattled off 12 runs in a row. Did the Mariners make the right decision to keep Kirby in and moving forward, what's the plan? :30- ABCs of the Mariners - D id for Dingers: all dingers have a different value to them; what value could we potentially place on Randy Arozarena's late home run? It was his first in 107 at-bats, could it be just what he needs to get heated up? - E is for Ewok: Vlad Jr is the most intimidating presence in the Blue Jays lineup, but that Ewok behind the plate (Alejandro Kirk) is worrisome as well. - F is for Fresh: is there a chance that a couple weeks off were actually good for Woo and he comes out fresher than before? :45- Jedd Fisch has a big game ahead of him on Saturday; can the Huskies pull off the upset in Ann Arbor? Just how big would this win be and could the Huskies enter the playoff conversation if they beat Michigan? Jedd Fisch rumors are already flying… See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
Headlines and Thursdays with SOFTY How is the Soft one feeling about last night's Mariners loss? Does he have any positive takeaways from last night? Was the decision to save Castillo for a start today the right one? Is he confident this team can get the job done? Oh, and let's talk about the Huskies! They have a BIG game on Saturday morning in Ann Arbor. Jedd Fisch really needs a win like this to elevate his program. :30- Luis Castillo is getting the start tonight for the Mariners while Max Scherzer goes for Toronto, but is this the same Scherzer that we once knew? He has not had a quality start since August 14th, so let's not let him have one tonight! It's been a long time since Max Scherzer has been Max Scherzer, so let's not let THAT guy show up at T Mobile Park tonight. :35- It's time for Fact or Fiction as Chuck makes his pick and we hope to be better than last week! :45- What is the plan for Bryan Woo? Rumors have swirled that he may start Game 5, but other rumors have him coming out of the bullpen, so how will he be used? See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
Michigan football faces a talented Washington Huskies offense at the Big House this Saturday (12 p.m., FOX). UW's offense is led by a trio that has been as good as advertised this season: QB Demond Williams Jr., RB Jonah Coleman and WR Denzel Boston. It's humpday AND game day as the Mariners and Blue Jays face off in Game 3 of the ALCS and the Mariners have a job to do. With a 2-0 series lead, many people may think this series is over, but the team knows they have a job to do and there's a lot off pressure on these guys as they carry the entire history of the franchise and the hopes of the city on their backs. The one question on everyone's minds: will Toronto fans be able to take over the stadium like they do in the regular season? :30- ABCs of the Mariners - A is for Available: The Mariners have many more weapons available to them to face Toronto in the ALCS than they did the first two times these teams met up. - B is for Bieber: Shane Bieber has been an addition to the Blue Jays since we last played them and he's still got good stuff. - C is for Cal-O-Ween: Ashley carved Dumpkin #2 for the ALCS and we have now realized, there's a method to the madness. :45- The Huskies head to Michigan to face the Wolverines on Saturday at 6am and they have a tough test ahead of them. Why are people so concerned with Dawgs not being in the Top 25? Win this weekend and you will be. See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
The Dawgs head on the road to Michigan this weekend and we can't find Cam Cleeland! We take a look at the matchup between the Dawgs and Wolverines. Jedd Fisch and the Washington Huskies return home from Maryland with their first B1G Conference win in program history after an epic comeback win over the Terrapins. As is the new weekly tradition, former interns Jack and Luke take to the microphones to share their thoughts. They begin with providing letter grades for Washington's performance in College Park, which was difficult to do given how different the two halves looked. Next, Jack and Luke pick one player on each side of the ball to have a stand out performance in The Huskies' upcoming Friday night showdown against the Rutgers Scarlet Knights. For last week's contest, their picks included Denzel Boston, Jacob Manu, and Decker DeGraaf - so they may have cracked the prediction code! Next, they will take to their Betting B1G segment, each picking three lines for B1G conference games for the upcoming week. Both Jack and Luke were 2-1 last week; however, Luke still holds the lead with an excellent 10-5 record for the year. Jedd Fisch's Washington Huskies suffered their first loss of the 2025 season against the Ohio State Buckeyes last week. Now, the Dawgs look ahead to their first road conference game of the year against the Maryland Terrapins. Jack and Luke do the same! The former interns assign letter grades to Washington's performance against Ryan Day's defending national champions. Believe it or not, the duo was in relative unison.
