With the Steelers hosting Houston this weekend for a Wild Card matchup, it's only fitting to go back in time and rebroadcast a Retro Show in which the Steelers were in a similar situation. The 1989 Steelers started out the season in a terrible way. They lost to the Browns and Bengals by a combined score of 92-10 to open the season. But Chuck Noll's team rebounded to finish at 9-7 and squeak into the playoffs only to have to face their arch-nemesis, Houston, in the Wild Card. Many thought the Steelers would easily go 0-3 against the Oilers for the year, but the Men of Steel had other plans. The Steelers visit to the Astrodome to closed-out the 1980s. December 31st of that year is the main topic that will be discussed on the a special rebroadcast of the Retro Show. Join SCN's veteran duo of Tony Defeo and Bryan Anthony Davis as they set adrift on memory bliss in the year that brought as a George Bush inauguration, Andrew “Dice” Clay, Field of Dreams and the Steelers near the doorstep of the Super Bowl. The Rams are double-digit favorites on Saturday in Carolina as we prepare for Wildcard Weekend, and teams that are double-digit favorites in the WC round are 12-1 in the last 13 games. This Rams team is getting healthy at the right time, and their aspirations are far above a wildcard win. Regardless, the Rams have to show up and get back to their winning ways. A commanding win vs. Carolina will alter how fans feel moving forward dramatically. But a loss? Could be one of the worst, if not THE worst in the Sean McVay era. We have all the faith in the world that the Rams will take care of business. Hosted by Simplecast, an AdsWizz company. The Wild Card preview continues as we dive into the skill position groups for both the Chargers and Patriots. How much is on Justin Herbert to rid himself of his current choker narrative? Then, Doug Kyed from The Boston Herald joins the show and explains why he thinks the Patriots' coaching staff gives Mike Vrabel an edge over Jim Harbaugh. And, Drake Maye hasn't been squeaky clean and can't be counted on to not be overwhelmed by the playoff scene.
Arcand is back and gets into the meat and potatoes about this Sunday's Chargers-Patriots matchup in the Wild Card. Who has the most to prove and who is facing the most pressure? Then, the weakest skills groups from each team will collide between New England's pass rush and LA's battered offensive line. And, between the common opponents both the Pats and chargers have played, New England has performed better.

Chris from Alabama absolutely unloads on the Packers fan base in one of the most passionate calls we've had all season. After a meaningless Week 18 loss to the Vikings with Clayton Tune under center, the discourse has gotten out of control—and Chris isn't having it anymore. Three Hall of Fame quarterbacks in 30 years, consistent playoff appearances, and fans are acting like we're the Cleveland Browns? The conversation dives deep into the Matt LaFleur debate, examining why the criticism doesn't hold up under scrutiny. We break down the injury context that nobody wants to acknowledge—losing Tucker Craft, Micah Parsons, and Jaire Alexander for the season isn't something you just overcome. Plus, an honest discussion about Matthew Golden that might ruffle some feathers: is he struggling to grasp the offense, and was that first-round pick really the right call? We also tackle the offensive line question heading into the playoffs—Morgan or Rasheed at left tackle?—and preview what it's going to take to beat Chicago in the Wild Card round.
