Jamie Winship joins us on the podcast today for a phenomenal conversation. Takeaways: In this episode, Jamie Winship notes the profound concept of identity and its foundational role in the lives of individuals, particularly those who adhere to the teachings of Jesus Christ. The discourse emphasizes the detrimental impact of fear, illustrating how it constricts our capacity for creativity and hinders our ability to receive new revelations. A significant theme explored is the necessity of asking God for insight in moments of fear, thereby allowing for the transformation of negative emotions into opportunities for growth and understanding. Listeners are encouraged to engage in a continuous process of confession, repentance, and transformation, as these elements are vital for spiritual maturity and clarity in one's identity. Jamie articulates the importance of distinguishing between the 'real me' and the 'false me,' highlighting how self-perception can either empower or detract from one's purpose in life. The episode invites individuals to reflect upon their fears and negative beliefs, urging them to seek divine truth as a means to overcome the lies that inhibit their potential.

Donna Winship left the American dream with her husband, Jamie and their three boys and spent 25 years raising their family in Southeast Asia and the Middle East. This was a journey that would forever change her life.Living overseas in a predominantly Muslim country, Donna discovered the principles of the Kingdom of God as demonstrated by Jesus and learned to live fearlessly in her true identity. When put into daily practice, these principles result in peace that surpasses understanding and truth that results in genuine freedom, even in an atmosphere of war, terrorism and death.Donna Winship is the CEO of Identity Exchange and the wife of Jamie Winship, who is the author of Living Fearlessly. What I learned from Donna in our conversation:It is not about the severity of the trauma or life event, it is the response to it. The response often triggers a deep lie and belief that takes root. There is no power in the lie unless you come into agreement with the lie. Listening Prayer is asking God questions that point you back to your true identity. People worship their theology and fear changing because of what would happen if Jesus really transformed me. People are stuck in false identities and get their identities from their various "right" beliefs. Start here, ask God: Who do you say I am? What do you want me to know? What do you want me to do?Try this in your organization: Truth Tell about what you are afraid of right now? Mind Change what is true? Form Change, what will you do?Start here to get a foundation of what living in your true identity could do for you, your family, and your organization. After leaving the American dream behind, she spent 25 years with her husband and children in Southeast Asia and the Middle East, where she learned to live fearlessly in her God-given identity—even in the midst of war and chaos. Donna helps us understand that spiritual warfare isn't always loud—it often shows up as quiet agreements with lies we never meant to believe. You'll learn how to move from feeling spiritually stuck to walking in freedom, why every negative emotion is actually an invitation to healing, and how to start hearing God again. Shawna found herself paralyzed by fear, dialing 9-1, her hand hovering over the final digit, simply to walk to the kitchen. She was terrified! Jamie, was driven into the desert by terrorists who told him, “We’re going to kill you!” In response, led by God, Jamie said, “I’m not afraid of you and I want to be your friend.” After decades of living and working in conflict zones, Jamie Winship, author of Living Fearless, discovered an important truth: all human conflict originates from fear, and fear originates from a false view of God, ourselves, and others. Fear is meant to inform us, not govern our lives. What if, instead of being driven by our fear we asked God what we should think and what we should do? Jamie says until we exchange what’s false for what’s real, we will never experience the true freedom of our identity in Christ.Donate to Moody Radio: http://moodyradio.org/donateto/morningshow/wgnbSee omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

In this episode Matt interviews Jamie Winship. Jamie tells some amazing stories from when he served in law enforcement in the Washington DC Metropolitan area, including a miraculous revelation during an active kidnapping case. He then goes on to explain how the Lord led him and his wife, Donna, to serve overseas and invite Muslims into the kingdom of God over many years in Indonesia, Iraq and Jordan. Jamie argues strongly that we should use biblical terms around the kingdom of God, rather than ‘conversion' when talking about Muslims coming to Christ. He shares mistakes he himself made in his early years on the field. He also shares how the Lord taught him to love his ‘adversaries', step into obviously dangerous situations (like a car full of Muslim extremists who wanted to execute him) and how to have a godly impact on diaspora Muslims in the West. We live in a time where Christianity has been reduced to a formula for self-improvement. Faith is treated like a performance metric. And Jesus? For many, He's become little more than a life coach—a spiritual consultant who exists to make life better, not new. But that's not the real Jesus. That's an illusion. This week, Jamie Winship returns to Win Today with a message that will shake your understanding of faith. He reveals: Why most people unknowingly treat Jesus as a self-help guru—and how to break free The hidden reason why many Christians stay stuck in fear, anxiety, and control What it actually means to surrender—beyond just words The cost of real maturity, and why many people never step into their true identity For centuries, the Church understood that following Jesus required more than belief—it demanded transformation. But today, we've substituted depth for comfort. We tweak our lives, make small improvements, and wonder why we feel unfulfilled. If you've ever felt stuck in faith, frustrated by your lack of transformation, or trapped in cycles of striving, this conversation is for you. Jamie isn't here to give you another spiritual hack. He's here to help you finally step into the life you were made for. Episode Links Show Notes Buy my NEW BOOK "Healing What You Can't Erase" here! Invite me to speak at your church or event. In this episode Matt interviews Donna Winship. She and her husband Jamie spent 25 years living and working in the Muslim world: Indonesia, Iraq & Jordan. In those locations their greatest joy was seeing Muslims discern the voice of God, enter into the kingdom, be healed and follow Jesus. Donna shares how they learnt so much about faith and mission from their own mistakes, from fellow workers and from painful trials (team-mates in Indonesia who were stabbed, others in Iraq who were shot and killed, a court case against Jamie for breaking Sharia law etc.). In the midst of it all, they have come to discover their God-given identity and His purpose for them and for the nations, something they now teach others how to do through their ministry called Identity Exchange. Donna also tells how she came to follow Jesus from a Jewish family background, with fascinating insights for those who work with Muslims or Jews. NB. This episode contains one harrowing story of sexual violence. In that regard, listener discretion is advised and it will not be suitable for younger children._________________________________________________________________________________Do get in touch if you have any questions for Matt or for any of his guests.matt@frontiers.org.ukYou can find out more about us by visiting www.frontiers.org.ukOr, if you're outside the UK, visit www.frontiers.org (then select from one of our national offices). You are valuable because you have something no one else has and it’s your gift to the world. Do you know what that something is? Do you know who you truly are? Only God can tell you who you really are. Jamie Winship, author of Living Fearless: Exchanging the Lies of the World for the Liberating Truth of God, has decades of experience bringing peaceful solutions to some of the world’s highest conflict areas. In doing so he discovered an important truth: all human conflict originates from fear, and fear originates from a false view of God, ourselves, and others. Until we exchange what's false for what's real, we will never experience the true freedom of our identity in Christ. Jamie has a gift for untying the knots that keep us stuck in the lies we believe so that we can learn to live fearless.Donate to Moody Radio: http://moodyradio.org/donateto/morningshow/wgnbSee omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
If Jesus were to introduce you to a group of His friends, what would Jesus say about you? Jamie Winship will be with us this Thursday to encourage each of us to listen to God telling us about our identity, about being the person God created YOU to be. An Uber driver once said to Jamie, “Does God talk to you? Does he say, ‘This is the identity I have for you'? Because if God does that, it would be pretty amazing. If God told us our identity, we would know what to do with our lives.” Jamie Winship is the author of the best-seller, Living Fearless. He was a Metro Police Officer in Washington DC and then spent more than 20 years in the Middle East working to diffuse terrorist organizations.
Elizabeth Ames is an attorney, wife, and mom of 2 rambunctious boys. She was diagnosed with appendix cancer at 38 years old and, from the outside looking in, she was the picture of health. Elizabeth was an athlete who loved working out and eating healthy, and even previously owned a crossfit gym. She has always been an "avid life consumer" and being diagnosed with cancer only tripled that passion and will to live. Upon diagnosis, Elizabeth read every book she could get her hands on, listened to every podcast, and talked to every mentor and expert she could find. It's Jamie's fault we needed a part 2 because he has so many amazing stories. We've been talking about how God has better blueprints than we could ever have for ourselves. We need to have a higher view of safety. If we can teach our kids to hear from God and know who they are then they can go anywhere. This is a must listen part 2 interview with Jamie Winship!Show Notes: https://bit.ly/4g0b8XI

In this episode Sam and Lex discuss LinkedIn's predictions for 2025. It's a list that's much shorter than last year's — which we're taking to mean that LinkedIn is just as confused as the rest of us when it comes to what's to come in the year ahead. Throughout the conversation, we focus on the predictions like the rise of millennial CEOs, the importance of supporting workers for global growth, and the evolving role of corporate employees as influencers. And, of course, we explore how these trends will impact recruitment and workplace dynamics.
