Our culture is obsessed with safety and self. We are constantly assessing risks, prioritizing tasks, and categorizing people. We crave the known, the safe. You can feel it, even if you have never named it. The tightness around not having enough, not being enough, not doing enough. The reflex to protect what you have before someone takes it. The way your relationships quietly become negotiations, your faith quietly becomes performance, and your inner life quietly becomes a war zone — all while you are calling it prudence, discernment, stewardship, responsibility. You have been living from a worldview. And you probably have no idea which one it is. Jamie Winship returns to Win Today, and this conversation cuts deeper than most Jamie is the founder of Identity Exchange and author of the new book The War of Worldviews, and for decades, he has brought peaceful, identity-rooted solutions into some of the most dangerous conflict zones on earth. What he has learned in war-torn regions, maximum-security prisons, and international diplomacy is this: every conflict, without exception, is a worldview problem before it is a behavior problem. There are only two worldviews. The separation worldview, which is built on scarcity, runs on fear, and always ends in self-protection and self-promotion. And the connection worldview, which is grounded in abundance, operates from love and produces self-emptying, other-focused transformation. We also dig into why identity alone isn't enough if the worldview carrying it is toxic, the staggering difference between influence and production, what Moses was actually warning Israel about through the story of Joseph, and why Daniel's refusal to bow to the empire changed three dynasties while Joseph's compliance led to his own people's bondage. If you have been calling your fear something else — and there is a good chance you have — this conversation is going to name it. You will have to decide what to do with what you hear. That decision will shape everything else. Guest Bio Jamie Winship is the co-founder of Identity Exchange and Identity Impact, training and consulting agencies that have helped leaders across professional sports, government, law enforcement, business, and international diplomacy discover their true identity and operate from it under pressure. After a distinguished career in law enforcement in the Washington DC metro area, Jamie earned a master's in English and spent years working in some of the world's most dangerous conflict zones — Indonesia, Jordan, Iraq, Palestine, and Israel — developing his Identity Method, a process of identity transformation that resolves inner conflict and opens new levels of creativity and resilience. He is the author of Living Fearless and the new book The War of Worldviews. Most Christians feel stuck — reading, attending, doing all the right things, and still not actually changing. Jamie Winship calls it "The Primer Problem." And it's not about your effort. It's about your identity.Jamie Winship is a former FBI agent and founder of Identity Exchange who spent years working in high-stakes conflict zones across the Middle East — including raising his family in Baghdad. The fellas talk to Jamie Winship, a former DC police officer and federal agent turned global peacemaker. Winship shares "absolutely bananas" stories, including the time he felt a divine prompt to "de-arrest" a suspect who committed two felonies, leading to a year-long partnership and a miraculous outcome for the man's family. Then, they explore the Identity Method, which teaches listeners how to distinguish God's voice from the "radio static" of internal accusations. Winship explains that your true identity is a gift to the world and an "inexhaustible energy source" that remains intact even when professional roles fail. We are bringing back one of our favorite episodes! What if following Jesus was less about carrying responsibility and more about responding to invitation? In part one of this conversation, Jennie sits down with Jamie Winship to talk about identity - not as something we achieve, but something we receive. Jamie shares his story of becoming a police officer, working in war zones, and learning to bring who he is into what he does, rather than letting his work define him.Jamie introduces two simple questions that have reshaped how Jennie leads, decides, and lives: “God, what do you want me to know?” and “What do you want me to do?” This episode invites us to slow down, listen, and remember that God is not asking us to carry everything - He's asking us to respond to Him. Jamie Winship teaches that only two things can move the human heart: suffering and beauty. Most people think suffering is meaningless and beauty is superficial. But what if beauty isn't superficial at all? What if it's actually one of the most profound forces for transformation? In this episode, I explore why beauty matters more than we've been taught to believe, how God used beauty to speak identity to me through felt goat ornaments, and why your style journey works best when it invites through beauty rather than obligates through rules. If you've ever felt guilty about caring how you look, this episode will help you see beauty as the profound spiritual force it actually is. Scott Winship analyzes 50 years of US median earnings, preferring the MACPI to accurately adjust for cost of living. He finds that the middle class is better off: women's earnings are up 120%, and men's are up 40–50%. Winship disputes populist theories that income inequality or the China shock are the main villains, noting that the worst period for young men was 1973–1989, predating those factors. SHOW 11-13-25 CBS EYE ON THE WORLD WITH JOHN BATCHELOR THE SHOW BEGINS IN THE DOUBTS ABOUT BUNDESTAG COHESION AND STABILITY. FIRST HOUR 9-915 1/2 Anatol Lieven discusses the war in Ukraine, noting the new Russian unit RubiKon hunting drone operators and the slow Russian advance on Pakovsk, aided by both innovation and old factors like fog. The conversation also covers Germany's military rearmament plans and the significant, rising influence of the populist right AFD party in German politics, which is strongly anti-immigrant and largely anti-rearmament. Guest: Anatol Lieven. 1/2 915-930 2/2 Anatol Lieven details UK Prime Minister Starmer's genuine political troubles concerning domestic policy drift and significant potential losses in upcoming regional elections. Starmer maintains prestige supporting Ukraine, though funding remains a question. A back channel to Moscow has been opened by Jonathan Powell to discuss peace, dropping the prior insistence on a ceasefire, indicating a shift in London. Guest: Anatol Lieven. 2/2 930-945 Chris Riegel, CEO of SCALA.com, states that Chinese claims of matching Nvidia's high-end chip success are largely propaganda, though China mandates domestic chip use. The US holds the AI "pole position." AI is a genuine profit driver, worth trillions to GDP, with material workforce impact expected by 2026. Guest: Chris Riegel 945-1000 Mary Anastasia O'grady reports on the assassination of Mayor Carlos Monzo in Michoacán, killed after leaving President Sheinbaum's Morena party and aggressively confronting cartels and their agricultural extortion. Sheinbaum has cooperated smartly with the US, allowing surveillance flights, and hired credible security chief García Haruch. The main challenge is whether Sheinbaum has the political will to confront the cartels, especially given the widespread belief in Morena's complicity. Guest: Mary Anastasia O'Grady. SECOND HOUR 10-1015 Cliff May discusses severe Christian persecution in Nigeria, which President Tinubu claims guarantees religious liberty. Attacks are carried out by Boko Haram, ISWAP, and powerful Fulani militias. May suggests jihadism acts as theological justification for Fulani nomadic herders to seize land from Christian farmers. The US could provide assistance, training, and advice to the Nigerian military to protect communities. Guest: Cliff May. 1015-1030 Sadanand Dhume examines the shift in US foreign policy, where President Trump now favors Pakistan and its military chief, General Munir. This followed intense combat between India and Pakistan after a horrific terrorist attack. When the US mediated a ceasefire, Trump took credit, which embarrassed Indian Prime Minister Modi. Pakistan cleverly thanked Trump and nominated him for a Nobel Peace Prize, securing his favor over India. India now needs a trade deal. Guest: Sadanand Dhume. 1030-1045 Professor Matthew Graham discusses the most powerful black hole flare ever recorded, which shone like 10 trillion suns from an Active Galactic Nucleus (AGN). Material falling into the supermassive black hole forms an accretion disc, releasing intense radiation. This 10-billion-year-old event was detected using computer cameras. Graham explains that these black holes are ancient "seeds" of galaxies, acting as cosmic vacuum cleaners, such as when a large star gets shredded. Guest: Professor Matthew Graham. 1/2 1045-1100 Professor Matthew Graham details his needs for future black hole research, prioritizing a network of space telescopes with large fields of view, like the Roman space telescope, for perpetual, multi-wavelength monitoring of the sky. This "audit of the cosmos" will improve detection speed and timing. Graham encourages students to pursue black hole work, noting it is a vibrant growth area, viewing black holes as the enduring future product of the universe. Guest: Professor Matthew Graham.2/2 THIRD HOUR 1100-1115 Veronique de Rugy discusses the cost of living, critiquing the administration's claims that Thanksgiving dinner is cheaper, citing the use of shrinkflation and item removal. She criticizes the proposal to send $2,000 checks, noting this Keynesian approach boosts demand, which, without increased supply, risks raising prices further. De Rugy advocates for deregulation and the elimination of tariffs (which she confirms are a tax) as the necessary supply-side solution to the affordability crisis. Guest: Veronique de Rugy. 1115-1130 Conrad Black assesses Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney's new budget as anti-climactic, failing to deliver promised growth or definitive decisions on controversial policies like pipelines. However, the budget was sensible and conciliatory, avoiding conflict with the opposition, Washington, and Alberta. Carney, adopting a diplomatic style akin to a central banker, did offer serious encouragements to alleviate the housing shortage. Guest: Conrad Black. 1130-1145 Scott Winship analyzes 50 years of US median earnings, preferring the MACPI to accurately adjust for cost of living. He finds that the middle class is better off: women's earnings are up 120%, and men's are up 40–50%. Winship disputes populist theories that income inequality or the China shock are the main villains, noting that the worst period for young men was 1973–1989, predating those factors. Guest: Scott Winship.1/2 1145-1200 Scott Winship investigates the mystery of the decline in young men's earnings between 1973 and 1989. He concludes this period was not caused by accelerated immigration or women entering the workforce, as men's earnings continued to rise. The actual explanation is the unique economic combination of stagflation—high unemployment and very high inflation—that occurred until the early 1980s recession. This severe economic dynamic has not been matched since 1989. Guest: Scott Winship. FOURTH HOUR 12-1215 The arrival of the US carrier Gerald Ford signals an escalating commitment to possible military solutions against Maduro's regime in Venezuela. Maduro has ordered a Cuban-style guerrilla defense, but analysts worry more about "anarchization"—wreaking havoc—if he falls. Removing Maduro and lifting sanctions could lead to necessary refinancing of Venezuela's $170 billion debt. Guest: Evan Ellis. 1/4 1215-1230 Peru faces severe political instability, evidenced by six presidents in two years and detentions for corruption. Transitional leader José Heresi is tackling rising organized crime, including a 36% jump in homicides, through a state of emergency. Meanwhile, China maintains deep-seated influence, controlling key sectors like mining, oil, and the deep-water port of Chancay. Guest: Evan Ellis.2/4 1230-1245 Honduras is holding a high-stakes, single-round election where the outcome could determine if the country returns to alignment with Taiwan or shifts to China. Election observers noted improper pressure and concerns about meddling by the ruling Libre Party. Separately, Argentina's economy under Milei is strengthening, backed by a significant US currency swap and political support. Guest: Evan Ellis. 3/4 1245-100 AM COP 30 is largely "political theater" with commitments insufficient to address climate change. Estimates suggest the crucial 1.5-degree global temperature increase will be reached by 2030. While there is increased international attention, funding remains inadequate; Brazil secured only $5.5 billion toward its $125 billion forest preservation goal. The plight of Amazonian indigenous peoples continues unaddressed. Guest: Evan Ellis.4/4 |

This week, we're diving into a viral LinkedIn post that challenges everything you thought you knew about recruiting. We'll break down five key principles, starting with the art of the email. It's not about you — it's about the candidate. We'll show you why "selling the conversation, not the job" is a non-negotiable rule and how to craft a message that actually gets a response. We also tackle the sheer volume of outreach needed to succeed, and why getting your email deliverability right is more critical now than ever. We'll explain why candidates are most honest at the outset and how you can use that to your advantage. Most importantly, we'll talk about the power of listening. We make the case for why a recruiter should be listening for 27 minutes out of a 30-minute call, and how asking "Hot Ones"-quality questions can help you connect on a deeper level. Finally, we'll discuss why clear communication, not just speed, is the ultimate superpower in a competitive hiring market.Chapters:00:00 - Five recruiting strategies you can't ignore for 202502:50 - Why you should sell the conversation, not the job08:59 - Why volume is your friend and deliverability is your superpower10:53 - The initial screening call: what candidates are really telling you13:28 - The 27/3 rule: why great recruiters barely speak19:06 - How to create momentum without sacrificing the candidate experienceExplore all our episodes and catch the full video experience at loxo.co/podcastBecoming a Hiring Machine is brought to you by Loxo. Jamie Winship is back—for the third time!—and it's no surprise why his previous interviews (Episodes 354 & 394) are among the most downloaded in Dream Think Do history. In THIS powerful conversation, Mitch reconnects with the award-winning DC cop turned international peacemaker and identity expert to explore how real transformation happens—especially when stepping into a new season of life or leadership. Jamie started with a childhood dream of becoming a police officer—and went on to become a decorated officer… known for solving high-stakes cases and training others to do the same. But as he pursued justice, he also began experimenting with ways to hear from God—unlocking what would become the Identity Method, a breakthrough process that helps people resolve inner conflict, dismantle false beliefs, and access new levels of creativity, courage, and peace. This identity-first approach led Jamie and his wife Donna into some of the most volatile, high-conflict zones in the world—including Indonesia, Jordan, Iraq, Palestine, and Israel—where they worked to bring reconciliation and healing across cultures and divides. Now back in the U.S., they're walking this same process out with educators, entrepreneurs, professional athletes, government leaders, and divided communities across the country. Whether you're stepping into a new chapter—or a new chapter is being forced upon you—Jamie shares timeless strategies for navigating change without fear and for operating fully in your God-given identity. It's deep, it's practical, and it's filled with the kind of stories that stick with you. If you've heard Jamie before, you already know this one's a must-listen. And if this is your first time meeting him… buckle up. You're in for something special. Read The Full Show Notes Here: https://mitchmatthews.com/424
Donna spent 25 years in various countries in Asia, including warzones. Her stories of listening to the ‘inner voice' of God to guide and draw people into His Kingdom are beautiful, instructive and challenging to us in how we seek to share our faith. “God, what do you want me to know in this situation” is a simple (and profound) prayer, whether being held at gunpoint in the extreme, or whenever fear creeps into our day-to-day activities. It's a great episode! ▶️ Watch it on YouTube here: https://youtu.be/OJzGMrdyw2cDonna and husband Jamie founded www.identityexchange.com and I can't recommend it highly enough in helping us to live fearlessly out of our true identity.
