In this episode of the Alamo City Sports Cast, host Mike Jimenez and show producer Joe Garcia discuss the thrilling victory of the San Antonio Spurs over the Phoenix Suns and the ongoing lineup controversy. They delve into the performance of key players, the impact of Tre Jones, and the role of Keldon Johnson. The episode also touches on the importance of player development and the team's outlook for the upcoming games. Main Talking Points: Spurs' Comeback Victory: The hosts start by recapping the exciting win of the San Antonio Spurs over the Phoenix Suns. The Spurs were down by 17 points late in the third quarter but managed to secure a dramatic 115-114 victory. Tre Jones and Lineup Controversy: Mike and Joe discuss the emerging talent of Tre Jones, a second-round draft pick from 2020. They highlight his improved defensive skills and efficient shooting, making him a valuable asset to the team. The controversy arises as they question Coach Popovich's decision to play Sochan, a 20-year-old guard, in a point guard role while expecting him to guard top-tier opponents. They argue that this approach could hinder Sochan's development. Keldon Johnson's Performance: Keldon Johnson's impact on the Spurs is acknowledged, with a focus on his consistency, scoring, and efficient three-point shooting. The hosts emphasize that Keldon's role, whether as a starter or off the bench, doesn't diminish his contributions to the team. The Role of Veterans and Team Development: Mike and Joe credit the veterans, such as Cedi Osman and Doug McDermott, for their leadership during the comeback against the Suns. They believe that it was the players who won the game despite lineup decisions. The importance of player development and the need to allow young talents like Victor Wembanyama to thrive are emphasized, as the hosts express concerns that the team's potential could be undermined by coaching decisions. Upcoming Schedule and Expectations: The hosts discuss the Spurs' upcoming schedule and express their desire for the team to achieve a 5-5 record in the first 10 games. They highlight the challenges and exciting matchups ahead. Audience Engagement: The episode includes interactions with the audience, including comments and questions from viewers. Mike and Joe respond to comments about Zack Collins and share their plans to review classic Jean-Claude Van Damme movies. Conclusion: The hosts conclude the episode with optimism for the Spurs' future and their commitment to bringing more movie reviews to the audience.

On the cusp of a new season with lots of reason to believe in the White Sox, SSS duty geezer Leigh Allan and his son and west coast correspondent, Will, delve into the predictions for the Sox and the rest of MLB from the computer whizzes at Five Thirty Eight, and even come up with their own predictions, which are never, ever right (one look at their March Madness pools will prove that). Of course, that involves looking at the lineup (hello, AJ Pollock!), the incredible fact the White Sox finally got a backup catcher who won't spend most of his time chasing the ball back to the screen (good-bye, Zack Collins!), and delving into the problems with injuries and such on the pitching side (welcome, Johnny Cueto?). Given the fact they have not one minute of any sort of medical training, Will and Leigh naturally delve deeply into Lance Lynn's torn meniscus, and what that could mean for pressure on the rest of the staff (Vince Velasquez, really?), and issue a strong joint hope that the TJHOFBP (the added TJ not for Tommy John, but for total ja*****) learned something last season about wearing out your starting pitchers early in the season so they have nothing left come playoff time. Not really much hope for that last bit, but plenty of hope for the rest, so Play Ball!!! Learn more about your ad choices. Visit podcastchoices.com/adchoices

Locked On White Sox - Daily Podcast On The Chicago White Sox

In this episode of Locked On White Sox, the Sox fall to the Royals 4-3 despite a late comeback attempt. Eloy Jimenez returned to the lineup, but went 0-4. Dallas Keuchel wasn't quite good enough, but the bats didn't really show up for him at all. Zack Collins continues to frustrate behind the plate, especially when compared to Salvador Perez. We also shift our focus to some other trade deadline targets that have recently become available. How about Trea Turner on the Southside? We explore that possibility and more in this episode of Locked On White Sox.Support Us By Supporting Our Sponsors!Built BarBuilt Bar is a protein bar that tastes like a candy bar.
