Betsy Milne and Laura Milne are transformational business and branding coaches on a mission to empower women with the tools and motivation needed to turn a spark of an idea into full- fledged business and sought-after brand. So you’re probably thinking they’re sisters? Nope, total strangers that just happen to have the same last name.   Born from the ashes of burnout, Luscious Hustle was created to redefine what it means to "hustle" as an online entrepreneur. In less than a year, they harnessed their passion to build a six-figure business that supported the lifestyle and time- freedom they craved.   In this wide-ranging conversation on the power of women in business, the three of us discuss how to use the moon cycle in your business, how not to screw up your kids, Betsy and Laura’s soul contract, and much more. This interview will give a positive boost to all women seeking to tap into their soul’s calling.   And I also have an announcement to make - this will be the last interview episode for the Excellent Example podcast. Today’s guest is one of my favorite examples of a saying I have: May your work transcend your title. May your character transcend your work. In other words, I love this person to pieces and she’s one of my closest friends because she’s the real deal.   Kari Keating is a business and growth coach, podcast host, speaker, and mom to 3 boys. She had a 17-year career in corporate America where she cultivated skills in the areas of business strategy, sales and storytelling, working for companies such as Nike, Quiksilver, lululemon and other major retailers. After she had her second baby, she became an accidental entrepreneur when she started using health and wellness products that she loved and launched herself into the network marketing industry.    While managing her growing network marketing business and motherhood, she found herself struggling to find clarity in the chaos and hired her first business coach. It was in that interaction that she realized that all the business acumen she had developed over the years could be used to help other entrepreneurs, just like her coach was helping her, launch, grow, and scale her business.    Kari has since worked with clients ranging from network marketers, coaches, photographers, recording artists, and many more - but is MOST passionate about working with entrepreneurs who want to create a business and brand that lasts. She loves helping women step into their purpose, ignite their passion and truly expand into the women they are called to be.   Highlights of our conversation: 3:21 - What would your best friends be saying behind your back?  6:01 - Each couple’s journey is incredibly hard 9:30 - How Kari has used personal growth to deepen her relationship with her partner 11:25 - Is my partner growing fast enough to keep up with me? 15:35 - Preparing your life for the inevitable hard times 16:26 - Getting Kari and her husband ready for Tony Robbins 20:49 - Harnessing your feminine energy  29:31 - Helping clients find balance between their masculine and feminine energies 37:28 - Staying grounded during a difficult stage of life 39:28 - Keeping your driving forces balanced  41:32 - Designing the life you want 43:05 - Connecting with Kari and her ideal client 45:28 - Kari’s approach to business coaching    Find Kari: Connect at her website: https://www.kari-keating.com/ Follow on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/karikeating/ See her in person: https://www.kari-keating.com/events Listen to her podcast: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/work-hard-mom-hard/id1439973260  Engage on LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/kari-keating-446a1726   Get connected with Tory: Check in at my website - http://www.torydube.com/ Check in with Super Connector Media - https://superconnectormedia.com/   Credits: Interview: Kari Keating Theme music: Superstar by Gyom - https://www.premiumbeat.com/royalty-free-tracks/superstar Podcast edited and mixed by 51 features. He has the spunk and soul of an entrepreneur, and he’s just a guy from a small town with big aspirations (who went on to attain his goals!) This human has been in my life since middle school - and he’s one of the kindest, most driven, most pure people I've had the honor of knowing and loving. He only eats chicken fingers and pizza and absolutely refuses to acknowledge any of my inappropriate comments about what he would call “gross things,” but I can forgive him for that.  Please welcome the Director of Premium Hospitality Sales for Madison Square Garden (you read that right - the guy who has access to every amazing artist or sports event that comes through NYC), my dear friend Patrick Walcek. We talk about how he went from cleaning stadium trash to mascot to his current job, how the lessons of a wedding speech could 10x your business, the two-word phrase that will change how you network, and more. Enjoy the distillation of a successful career in under 45 minutes.   Highlights of our conversation: 1:39 - Seeking unique paths to reach your ideal career 4:28 - Surviving with an unpaid internship in an expensive city 7:34 - How recycling plastic helped sell the Knicks on Pat 10:14 - Why picking up garbage could make you a great manager 14:01 - The Mascot Mindset 20:56 - How to bring your ideas to life 22:55 - Practicing a wedding speech could land your next client 27:43 - How to get your team to excel 30:13 - Concrete ways to get to know your co-workers better 31:36 - Name your why and other practices to be a better salesperson 35:18 - The two-word phrase that will change your networking forever 39:54 - Pat answers the jar of LOLz 42:40 - The power of a good manager   Connect with Pat: Connect on LinkedIn - https://www.linkedin.com/in/patrick-walcek-1165342a/   Credits: Interview: Pat Walcek Theme music: Superstar by Gyom - https://www.premiumbeat.com/royalty-free-tracks/superstar Podcast edited and mixed by Andrew Geary - andrew [at] 51features.com

Today’s guest believes that if you’re in the world creating and serving - you need to protect your work.   Andrei Mincov is the founder of Trademark Factory International. His career as an intellectual property lawyer began when his father, the famous Russian composer Mark Minkov, caught a radio station stealing his music. While still a student, Andrei filed a lawsuit against the station, took the case one level below the Supreme Court of Russia - and won!   Now, Andrei and his team help thousands of entrepreneurs and companies protect their intellectual property. But since day one it has always been more than just a way to make a good living. It's also personal.   This interview was so interesting to me because not only did I learn so much about taking my own intellectual property seriously - but Andrei’s path to his purpose was winding and weird - my favorite kind.   Highlights of our conversation: 2:32 - Getting to know Andrei 5:35 - Supporting your dad by suing on his behalf 11:48 - How Rich Dad Poor Dad helped Andrei find his calling 18:02 - Why entrepreneurs need to protect their IP 21:11 - Go into entrepreneurship with a big idea 24:10 - Are you spending countless hours on your hobby? 27:54 - When should I consider trademarking my brand or program? 30:47 - You need a system for your coaching first, then do this... 37:25 - Andrei answers the jar of Lolz   Find Andrei: Visit his website - https://trademarkfactory.ca/ Check out Andrei’s webinar - http://webinar.trademarkfactory.com/register   Credits: Interview: Andrei Mincov Theme music: Superstar by Gyom - https://www.premiumbeat.com/royalty-free-tracks/superstar Podcast edited and mixed by Andrew Geary - https://twitter.com/spelledgeary

Laura Belgray, founder of Talking Shrimp and co-creator of The Copy Cure, has been a professional writer for nearly two decades and won big, fat awards for her work. The list of her credentials is incredibly long that she surely can’t expect me to name them all. But they include the likes of New York Magazine, Bravo, NBC, TBS, VH1, Joan Rivers, Kevin Hart, SpongeBob SquarePants, Kelly Ripa...and it goes on and on.   When not writing for private clients and TV, Laura likes watching TV. And when not watching TV, she enjoys traveling, eating in great restaurants, and talking about TV. She speaks decent Spanish, halting Italian, and a few obscene phrases in Ancient Greek. Laura lives in New York City, where she grew up, back when it was dirty, and everyone got mugged. She kind of misses that.   This episode is for you if you: use words to communicate want to know how to better use those words to impact people you're doubting the power of intention & confidence Highlights of our conversation: 1:53 - Getting to know Laura 11:23 - Laura’s starf**ker dream, aka the Marie Forleo story 24:26 - Laura breaks Twitter, plus how to be brilliant all the time 26:57 - How to avoid deadlines while pleasing your clients 30:55 - Two major writing lessons, especially if you work from home 32:53 - How cereal can help writer's block 36:03 - Can you really earn 6K writing Instagram posts? 38:28 - Dealing with constant rejection 42:25 - Upgrade your copy immediately by doing these things 44:09 - Should I try to be funny? 45:53 - Stop writing shitty emails (Laura tells you how)   Find Laura: Visit her website - https://talkingshrimp.com/ Check her on Instagram - https://www.instagram.com/talkingshrimpnyc   Credits: Interview: Laura Belgray Theme music: Superstar by Gyom - https://www.premiumbeat.com/royalty-free-tracks/superstar Podcast edited and mixed by Andrew Geary - https://twitter.com/spelledgeary
