We'll dive into the stories that are challenging many of us in the world today, and highlight how we can see them in a different light or create breakthroughs as they relate to our lives.Episode Overview: In this first episode of Girlfriends with(out) Benefits, we will bring into light conversations amongst women that aren't typically talked about in public because of the way that we're supposed to be, but we want people to know that it's ok not to conform, and we want people to know that there is nothing wrong with being different from what society thinks that you should be.We want to take those conversations and publicize them. We want to put them out there. Girlfriends with(out) Benefits is the podcast that discusses topics that aren't typically discussed, with a focus on supporting women and finding that group that can truly support you, see you, and be with you in the scary (but sacred) space where we all choose to go. Unraveling a journey from corporate to entrepreneurial and spiritual endeavor is an essential topic discussed in today's podcast. Cassandra will give you a glimpse of life situations about unraveling.Cassandra thought of different ways to unravel from her previous podcast with Dmitria. And she is always asked, like, you know, is there a proper way? Is there a right way to do it? Like, how did you do it?Cassandra shares a little backstory on how she unraveled the pieces in her life. She was in the corporate and was working at one, quote, toxic job after another. At first, everything looked phenomenal. It was great salary, benefits, team, structure, and company. Then, however, she saw a lot of misogyny which she didn't want to subscribe to.Things get more and more frustrated with everything that was going on. Her own health even became a problem. It started with gluten intolerance and moved over to a Hashimotos base protocol. Finally, she got to the point of frustration, where literally one day she walked in, and she was done. She got to the level of frustration where she could no longer handle it as there was no income to replace, and she didn't want to focus and face it. So, that was her kind of journey out. So, Cassandra had to hustle and figure out all those things once she was out.Cassandra believes that humans have this need and desire for safety. But with the concept of severe trauma, some people find it hard that they're not going to do or not want to do to unravel. So what she did is create six things to slowly unravel whether you are in a corporate or in another business, or both.In this podcast, Cassandra will talk about strategically releasing responsibilities, defining the minimums, working towards realistic minimums, and the limited idea of unlimited hustling. She will highlight here why working beyond the average hours and pouring all your energy to working multiple jobs are not ideal for long-term sustainability. Now sit comfortably and listen in!Key points:Figure out why unraveling is important to you.Get clear of what work and life balance means to you.Prioritize what's important to you.Let go of trying to work and do it all.Simplify your life.Tweetable Quotes:“Overwork should have a kind of a short expiration date on it. Because if it doesn't, it becomes more of a life cycle and lifestyle.” - Cassandra Shuck“I think hustle for a particular season or a particular strategic event makes ascent makes total sense. On the other hand, I kind of sway away from it and disagree with it when it comes to long-term sustainability.” - Cassandra Shuck“Where can you still have some connection time with the relationships in your life to avoid that adrenal fatigue of just go, go, go, go while unraveling one thing and trying to stand up another?” - Cassandra Shuck
Recently, there has been a lot of conversation about finding out your gifts, and Cassandra Shuck has been hearing from different people seeking to know what their gifts are. They particularly want to know to discover their gifts and use them in their lives. So how do we do that?First of all, Cassandra thinks that it's important that we have these conversations in light of the idea of different questions to ask ourselves. Some questions Cassandra recommends finding out what your gifts include:1) If you could change one thing about the world, what would it be?For her, it's about changing the metric for women entrepreneurs to have the money that not only they deserve but could actually turn around and create an impact on their lives.2) What do you understand more about people?Cassandra shares that she understands the animals so well. She has some people that she worked with that understand, kind of uncovering their meaning and really digging down deep in their story so well. 3) What bores you or makes you feel tired, or makes you feel forced into doing it?For Cassandra, she loves the process of dissecting people's businesses, getting into their heads, getting into their mindset, seeing what makes them tick, seeing what makes their clients convert getting their client's heads in space. But for her, it's the process that she loves. It's not necessarily the outcome. 4) What is it that brings you joy? What is it that brings you the most satisfaction? Cassandra asks here what satisfies you at a deep soul level. She's not just talking temporarily but deep soul-level gratification. Identifying what drives us the most is a major component of gift identification.5) What is the happiest day of your life? She's not talking about the time she met her spouse or time she got married or met her partner or whatever the case may be, you've had a baby. Cassandra thinks of deeper than milestones. Like how do you live that out? What is it that you're doing? Where is it that you're going? Are you traveling? Are you staying still? Are you reading? What is the happiest day of your life? 6) What values do you have that you are not willing to compromise on? So often get into business because we're not willing to compromise on a value that we find out only later on in the business. So we have to bend; we have to compromise; we have to shift. Do you want to know more?Start believing, digging, and uncovering what your gift is by listening to our podcast below!Key points:Rediscover your passion.Motivate yourself to get your day-to-day tasks done.Want to have personal and professional growth.Achieve results.Share knowledge, experiences, skills, and talents with others out there.Tweetable quotes:“I'm aware of my value levels so that I'm able to create these boundaries from protection and from a love perspective.” - Cassandra Shuck“I believe that everyone has something true to themselves that they understand.” - Cassandra Shuck“I love the fact that my clients are making money and their businesses are growing, and they're getting to live out what their true dharma is.” - Cassandra Shuck“I am not willing to compromise my time with family. It's just a non-negotiable for me.” - Cassandra Shuck
In a way, all of us are time travelers. If we just pause and close our eyes, we can wander back to our childhood dreams, our failures, and all our first and best experiences that went on forever. But how can we make these thoughts and feelings work for us, and what can we learn from them?In this podcast, Cassandra discusses how, when, and why you can get quiet enough in your life to start connecting the dots and realize how everything makes so much sense. She emphasizes that the roadmap and the blueprint have always been there. However, Cassandra admits that things can be really hard in the moment, especially when talking about bad stories. We can get stuck in the victim mode. This isn't really negative; this just proves to be human and how we naturally progress from time to time. Cassandra stresses that we truly begin living when we cast aside victim mentality and truly become masters of our own lives. As the podcast continues, Cassandra mentions labeling our thoughts and emotions. She believes that doing this allows us to see the real issue at hand and accept it. Some things may be messier than others, but labeling them clearly can help build a roadmap to address the problem.Nostalgic work as it may seem, Cassandra recognizes that pulling the past forward to the present and labeling them can help to energize, move forward, and take on new challenges and opportunities life has to offer. Now, sit back, relax, and listen in!Keypoints:Acknowledge the feelings.Give a deeper understanding of what happened in your past.Learn how to label your emotions to reduce physiological distressBring your reaction under control.Discover the possibilities for what to do next.Cast aside victimhood and be your own champion.Tweetables:“Start looking at our paths, looking at how they intertwine, and looking at the labels that we assign them because everything is neither good nor bad. It has to do with the label we assign them.” - Cassandra Shuck“We are no longer taking things that someone passed to us and just accepting them as fact. But we are creating our own facts, and that's the blueprint of our life.” - Cassandra Shuck“Taking radical responsibility and what your life looks like are scary and uncomfortable as shit. But guess what, this is what we're meant to do.” - Cassandra Shuck

What are your values in life? If you can't answer this yet, let me follow this up with another question: What thought processes help you make a tough decision? Alright! This is something to ponder on, and whatever your answers from here are your values. Yes, values influence our decision-making process, and they matter to us. In this podcast, Cassandra will share her own experiences and ways to assess her and clients' values to live a more meaningful way.A Spiritual Life and Business Coach, Cassandra brings her own stories and experience to the table in this fascinating and entertaining podcast. From food-based stuff options in the grocery to going to bed, they have different perspectives as they don't put equal relevance to these things. Cassandra realizes that sometimes there aren't enough words to put around to the values when communicating. That's how complex it is, especially in the English language, as this has many words that may mean something or be completely different.Cassandra also emphasizes that values can be different in our areas of life: spirituality, career, family, relationships, personal growth and development, and health and fitness. This is why she further suggests looking at things internally, compare, contrast, and shift the values of what's important to you and why.Throughout the years of coaching and mentoring clients, Cassandra now discovers a new path of pulling and extracting out values, gets to know people on a different level, tries to align values with thoughts, and makes relationships meet between ends.Do you want to learn more?Listen to our podcast below and learn how I can help you understand your values and why it's essential to base it here when making a decision.Key Points:Create a list of your values. Cassandra heard you and is back with a solo episode! For the past couple of months, Cassandra has been focusing her energy and time in practicing the art of zooming out. Try out this practice when you’re in an unideal situation, like in a trauma or just going through difficult times. There’s a lot that’s been going on around the world with COVID-19, the COVID-19 vaccine, the economy and so much more. It’s not a situation where we want to make sound decisions as we fall into victim mode. And for Cassandra, there are also things solely happening to her with her business and being pregnant. Everyone’s in an overwhelmed state of mind, and Cassandra shares with us how people tend to zoom in and forget to see the beauty of witnessing the bigger picture. So when in doubt, zoom out and see how the dots connect and synergies happen when we get a bird’s eye perspective of our situation. She invites everyone to spend some time being intentional and practice how to ‘zoom out’ with a quick mental training exercise at the end. Key Points From This EpisodeCassandra shares what’s been going on latelyThe concept of “when in doubt, zoom out” - to start to look at everything in a grander scaleHow all the events that’s happening causes victim mentality and leaves everyone in a state of overwhelm Cassandra tells us how important it is to see the bigger picture Tweetables“We need to get into a practice of zooming out when we’re in our trauma response.” [0:00:51]“I'm going to see the natural positives. We’ve always talked about the raw stuff in every episode of Stacked Against but in this episode, you’ll be hearing something different from that. Cassandra will be redefining her new normal and redefining who Cassandra really is. She hashes through her experience at a three-day retreat at Rhytmia in Costa Rica. Cassandra shares her personal experience using the ayahuasca plant medicine. Being the Type A that she is, the decision to the retreat was all backed up with research and a few questions prepared beforehand back in December 2020. In Part 1 of the podcast, Cassandra fast forwards to the day before flying out to Costa Rica anxious of what was about to come. Going there with the goal to heal her mother wounds but led to many other things, as well. Wanting to release her fear, her need to please, and her desire to fit in, she hopes that this retreat would be the solution to finally getting rid of it.Key Points From This Episode:Detailed experience during the retreat at RhythmiaExperience with Ayahuasca CeremonyChat about breathwork The 4 different ways ayahuasca will speak to peopleTalks about her celestial surgeriesMentions her 2 intentions she wants to focus onGetting into higher states of consciousness without using plant medicine Something new to comeTweetables:“Different levels of consciousness and different levels of connection with higher self can be done just from being present.” -Cassandra Shuck“I see this as being a coming of age ceremony…and experience for kids and teenagers who are stepping into who they’re supposed to be and trying to figure that out.” -Cassandra Shuck“When you’re on a spiritual path there are so many things lining up for you. In Part 2 of the podcast, Cassandra delves further into her self discovery while at Rhythmia. As you may know, Cassandra has done a lot of work that relates to her loss, but this was a whole other level she didn’t expect. Up until that point on the night of the very first ceremony, Cassandra focused more on ayahuasca as a drug rather than a medicine. But as she got there, her mind was set at ease and a lot of her anxieties, after watching how these group of humans interact and the amount of respect, love, and admiration that they have for the plant, was released. Show Notes:What does it mean to be in a fulfilling meaningful relationship with someone? How do intimacy & sex complicate that relationship? Enter Ken Blackman, known relationship coach who’s guidance for couples seeks to foster deeper relationships between partners. In this podcast, Kevin delves into the complex dynamic of how relationships can often bring out both the best (& worst) in people working together. Ken draws from years of experience in coaching couples to provide sound advice in helping partners meet mutual goals: both professionally and sexually. From a coaching perspective, Ken believes that perception remains one of the strongest influences in our personal relationships with others. Projecting negativity can manifest poor life experiences. However you feel about yourself is also what you are destined to attract. As feelings about ourselves change for the better, so will those forces gravitate towards us. Mentors are instrumental in helping us see ourselves differently and drag us out of ruts. They help us to relate with ourselves and others differently.Ken explains about deconstructing historical stereotypes of gender roles within society and how they influence our interpersonal relationships. Helping people recognize WHAT goals people seek out in others and within their relationships has become Ken’s focus. There is no new “model” or template by which to set relationship roles. There is no “producer” or “protector”, so Ken is working on organizing that modern dynamic in his new book.Ken's primary Key Performance Indicator by which he measures relationship success is: Are they generally happy on a day to day basis - do they operate from a point of generosity? (willing to give unto the others) In a happy relationship people look for ways to serve others. Society will sometimes try to whitewash a stigma of women being primary breadwinners within a household. Couples that are attracted to Ken are normally when SHE is stepping into her power and how to go about setting up that dynamic. That dynamic isn’t flipped, it is dismantled and requires an entirely new mindset for a prosperous future.Key Points From This Episode:-Lasting relationships require partners to recognize and nourish what the other brings to the table.-Ken explains Key Performance Indicators (KPI) for good relationships.-There is no secret formula for setting a baseline of relationship dynamic in society.-Sometimes the greatest barriers are those that we create for ourselves.-Much of the techniques used by Ken are from experience with previous couples.-Challenging societal stereotypes can be a challenge in changing public opinion on breadwinners in relation to gender roles.-Reforming corporate stereotypes with relationships can help modernize the workplace.-As a woman steps into her power, couples need a new understanding of their relationship.Tweetables:“In a healthy relationship, couples are looking to do more for each other.” - Ken Blackman (26:47)“In clients (men) you work with, these are common threads (gender societal stereotypes) that are put upon people.” - Cassandra Shuck (17:56)“We no longer operate from that old (traditional) model of masculinity.” -Ken Blackman (18:57)Links Mentioned in Today’s Episode:Cassandra ShuckKen BlackmanSex & Connection Blog

Cassandra Shuck has always been good at “the hustle.” She grew up believing that she had to be self-sufficient to find success. After living in a place she couldn’t call home, Cassandra had two options: stay miserable, or figure out how to create the life she knew she wanted. At 16, this motivation helped her leave a home stricken with verbal and physical abuse. After college and many years in a successful corporate career, she decided to pursue her own entrepreneurial interests. I thought that doing things all by myself was the right choice, the safe choice. Then, I found out that what had “worked” for so long, wasn’t actually working. I was in an infinite loop of uncertainty, unhappiness, and stress. I needed to find my purpose; something to bring back my long-forgotten spark. I decided to seek my calling outside of my corporate career. Cassandra learned how trauma and unhealed wounds manifested and affected her choices and behaviors; showing up as self-sabotage, doubt, and perfectionism. She discovered that trauma needs to be leveraged to achieve a more balanced life. This enabled Cassandra to create a new level of income, impact, and fulfillment while finding peace of mind. Today, Cassandra Shuck is an Entrepreneurial Guide and Intuitive Business Coach. She has created and grown several successful businesses, including Tola Marketing + Creative and Milkin’ Cookie. She is also a birth doula and yoga instructor. In this week’s Work From The Inside Out podcast, learn more about Cassandra’s journey: Through her experience as a birth doula and yoga instructor, she realized that her true passion was to empower women in the most meaningful moments of their lives. There is magic all around us—in the trees, the animals and the world. Cassandra Shuck learned this at a young age as she grew up in a place she couldn't really call home, and so she sought out the magic where she could find it. It wasn't until she became a yoga teacher that she learned she was empathic. She then moved from metaphorical lily pad to lily pad as she developed her energy work and found her purpose—empowering women. We talk everything from soul fragmentation and soul retrieval, to polarity and working to bringing opposites together in this diverse episode. New to Human Design?
