“We don't need to save the world. We need to let the world save us.” I was delighted to bring Darren back for the first episode of Season 2 of the Love Is Our Nature podcast. A lot has happened since I first had Darren in episode 8 about a year ago. I have partnered up with Darren to bring to life the Gaia Awakening Institute, which will be inaugurated later this year. The Gaia Awakening Institute is a center devoted to the evolution of human consciousness, and the reawakening of our interdependent nature and symbiotic relationship with Mother Earth. Through eco-spirituality, the restoration of indigenous wisdom, and cultivating conscious community, we are stewarding a new paradigm for humanity and a universal culture of peace and unity. Darren has been visioning this beautiful project for several years. And after experiencing everything that I have over the past year, I wholeheartedly support this vision. In this episode we get to explore what eco-spirituality is, as well as what the latest news is with the unfolding of the Gaia Awakening Institute. If you grew up in western culture like me, some of what you will hear in this episode my sound a bit crazy. Do you remember the first time you saw people react to your videos? That feeling of seeing people's emotional response to your work is so motivating. Today's guests, having only started their studio a few years ago, are still riding that feeling. Austin Hall and Darren Clausen started it as a 50/50 partnership and have hired a full-time employee as well as some part-time contractors. Their goal is to raise the standard of quality content and creativity in the Midwest. Navigating the Complexities of Working as Partners Not everyone is cut out to be in a partnership like Austin and Darren. It comes with its challenges and special considerations, such as tax prep, budgeting, and goal setting. However, if you can agree on priorities and practices, you can be each other's greatest assets. Austin and Darren learned to set clear roles for themselves to make the most of their partnership. When you each operate within your respective strengths, the team will be much greater than the sum of its parts. Getting Creative with Studio Spaces Having recently moved into their own studio space, Darren and Austin are enjoying a new sense of freedom. By being masters of their own space, their creative juices are flowing like never before. With this investment, they have given themselves time and flexibility to shoot whenever they want. They now have a space that they can set up just the way they want and are proud to bring clients to. I bet there are underutilized studio spaces in your area. The man believed to be responsible for the 2019 shooting death of Chicago rapper AAB Hellabandz (real name Ameer Golston) has reportedly been arrested for first-degree murder. According to Local10 News, 26-year-old Austin Hall was busted by Miami Beach, Florida detectives who accuse Hall of pulling the trigger that May evening on South Beach. They think Hall went to Miami Beach to seek revenge after Golston was named as the alleged shooter in a 2015 nightclub murder. He was also a man with nothing to lose. Hall had just been convicted of armed robbery and came to Miami Beach before having to turn himself in to begin serving his sentence.
