Ellen and I discuss a recent study that looks at how patients with celiac disease interact with their health care professionals. This is, of course dependent on the particular health care professional, but the study found that often celiac patients felt that their doctor was treating them with less respect as if they weren't very smart. Ellen reminded us of the Conquer Study that you can still fill out. The study is looking at the experience of celiac adults as well as parents of celiac children. September is National Yoga Month Take a class at B Free Wellness Kaylin Orr joins Fit Phat-She is the Program Coordinator and Supervisor of Operations at B Free #whateveryouneed is her hashtag at the studio. Ayanna love's fruit of the loom and saying the word "underwears." but she gets to business when she asks Kaylin Why she wanted to join the Be Free team? Kaylin talks about her fitness journey. She is always seeking to find her place in the vast sea of jobs in the industry. Serious Injury At a five-year-old birthday, Kaylin does a round-off into a flip Kaylin breaks her Neck and dislocates her arm. That is right; she broke her Neck. She had her boyfriend drive her to the ER to confirm and then got surgery. After a spinal fusion, she gave herself 24 hours to be mean to herself and wallow in her frustration. She lived with her cervical collar and used no pain medication. She made herself a TikTok and started documenting her recovery. She read "untethered soul" and said she only allowed herself to read one chapter a day. She pushed through incredible pain and didn't accept the go slow advice from others. She is back teaching and credits being present with herself. Accepting her journey And how her body connects to the neck and spine She credits her fitness evolution to where she is today. Christie talks a bit about "toxic positivity." and being inauthentic vs. Kaylin's shift to accepting her station on her journey. Kaylin likes to connect to what space you are in now. Kaylin loves Pilates and Yoga. If you find the word "yoga" intimidating, you must take a class with her! She wants Yoga accessible to you no matter what your level is She makes every class comfortable and will give you modifications from beginner to advanced levels. In this episode, we are on the road in the Old City section of Philadelphia to get an inside look at the B. Free Franklin Post Office. We'll learn more about how this historical landmark reflects the characteristics of the community, as our tour guides Sylvia Herron, a Customer Relations Coordinator at the Postal Service, and Tammy Scott - acting customer relations coordinator at the Postal Service guide us through the museum and Old City's unique history.

We talk about all things rabbit with amazing, experienced exotic veterinarian, Dr. Sari Kanfer. We talk about the importance of rabbits being vaccinated against RHDV2, elderly rabbits, the ideal diet for rabbits, the costs of vet care for our bunnies , the most common medical issues and so much more! Dr. Sari Kanfer, originally from New York City, was able to escape the big city and attend veterinary school at Colorado State University. Shortly before vet school she became hooked on rabbits and later followed her addiction to the west coast. After 10 years of building a great clientele in the exotic pet community, she opened the Exotic Animal Veterinary Center as a full service hospital dedicated to high quality, compassionate veterinary care for avian and exotic pets. Dr. Kanfer believes that no matter how small or unusual your pet is, it deserves the best veterinary medicine has available.Dr. Kanfer is our resident small mammal guru and sees primarily rabbits, guinea pigs and chinchillas. She has a special bond with the rabbits and is well-known for her extensive medical knowledge in treating them. Dr. Kanfer is also well versed in treating dental issues with rabbits, guinea pigs and chinchillas. Dr. Kanfer has been featured on NBC Los Angeles.com discussing rabbit ownership and was also featured on ABC LA News discussing Santee Alley bunnies. She has written articles in numerous publications discussing exotics. Dr. Kanfer not only “talks the talk” but “walks the walk” with the 11 rescued bunnies with chronic health issues that live with her.Dr. Kanfer's special interests involve cutting edge veterinary care for mammals, and she provides advanced therapeutics, ranging from extensive dental abscess surgeries, rhinotomies, blood transfusions, and feeding tubes, to abdominal surgeries, and cancer treatment. You have a robbery/hostage into play in broad daylight, rush hour traffic in the state of Florida, and instead of making sure the innocent bystanders are safe FIRST, they opened fire in response to the open fire from the robbers???
