On the latest episode of the podcast, Jamie comes very close to recommending lesbian pornography, Doug wants nothing more than to swap out the lead of the film for a hunky oaf, and we take some time to work on Obama impressions and discuss which of us would be a better proctologist. Don't ignore tummy troubles or 'Near Darks' as we call them around here, grab a pocketful of painkillers, and join us as we wade through a whole lot of swings and misses to find the jokes in, Young Doctors in Love!Young Doctors in Love is a 1982 film directed by Gary Marshall and starring Michael McKean, Sean Young, Hector Elizondo, Harry Dean Stanton, Pamela Reed, Taylor Negron, Ted McGinley, Saul Rubinek, Crystal Bernard & Dabney Coleman..Visit our YouTube ChannelMerch on TeePublic Follow us on TwitterFollow on InstagramFind us on FacebookVisit our WebsiteDoug's Schitt's Creek podcast, Schitt's & Giggles can be found here: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/schitts-and-giggles-a-schitts-creek-podcast/id1490637008

Matt and Todd discuss the 1990-1997 NBC-TV Sit-Com; Wings, starring Tim Daly, Steven Weber and Crystal Bernard as we join their lives on Nantucket Island's Tom Nevers Field. The show features early performances by Thomas Haden Church as Lowell, Tony Shalhoub as Antonio and cameos from across the harbor. Wings cruises through 8 strong seasons yet is largely forgotten in the wake of industry giants of the early-mid 90s like Friends, Seinfeld, Cheers, Frasier, Married... With Children, Mad About You, Fresh Prince of Bel Air, The Simpsons, Fish Police and Capitol Critters.

The Marquis Theatre was having great success in 2001 with the revival of Annie Get Your Gun. It had opened in 1999 with Bernadette Peters and Tom Wopat and became just the second show in Marquis history to surpass 1000 performances. It closed with Crystal Bernard in the title role with Tom Wopat coming back as Frank Butler to close the show on September 1, 2001. But ten days after Annie Get Your Gun closed, all of Broadway closed, New York City shut down, and an entire nation was brought to its knees in anguish, heartache, and disbelief. Everything stopped. So far this season, Closing Night has been focused on individual shows at the Marquis Theatre and how and why they closed. But in this special episode, we'll look at the whole Broadway community—the shows and actors and industry leaders—how they were affected by 9/11 and what it took to bring theater back to New York City. Follow on Instagram and listen to Closing Night on your favorite podcast app. --- Closing Night is a production of WINMI Media with Patrick Oliver Jones as host and executive producer. Dan Delgado is the editor and co-producer, not only for this podcast but also for his own movie podcast called The Industry. Maria Clara Ribeiro is co-producer, and a big thank you goes to Playbill, the Guides Association of NYC, and the American September Project whose resources made this episode possible.  Click here for the transcript and full list of links and resources used in this episode. “I didn't know girls really did this stuff!”All aboard for the rockabilly massacre dreamscape! There's a clearly logical path from The Slumber Party Massacre to its followup five years later, Slumber Party Massacre II. The sequel follows the young sister from the first movie, now in high school herself, as she's still dealing with how being a witness to the murders in the first affected not only her mind but also that of her sister, now institutionalized. The filmmakers clearly didn't want to just tell that story though. This film amps that story up with the teen sex comedy and slasher horror elements mixed with musical sequences and a version of the driller killer that may normally be relegated to spoofs. It didn't seem to work for everyone, but for us, we had a great time. Join us – Pete Wright and Andy Nelson – as we continue our Slumber Party Massacre series with a conversation about Deborah Brock's 1987 film Slumber Party Massacre II.Here's a hint at what we talk about. The film feels different right out of the gate. Instead of a killer stalking women around town, we have the killer – now armed with an insane blending of electric guitar and giant power drill – haunting our protagonist's dreams. The filmmakers don't give us a kill for nearly an hour, instead spending plenty of time up front with the characters. We get more teen sex romp comedy and we get more psychological breakdown elements as our protagonist works through her dreams and the visions coming from it. We have a great time talking about this film and breaking it down. Check it out then tune in. Hi. This is the fourth and final installment of our summer rerun series wherein we send out old episodes that we think are good but perhaps didn't get all the attention they should have. This Wings episode is actually our least-listened-to episode, and we're pretty sure that is a result of Drew naming it originally “Roy Biggins Has a Big Gay Son.” We're betting that forefronting the fact that it's Wings will help more people listen to it, because you're more likely to know what Wings is than you are to remember who Roy Biggins was. Either way, this is an episode we will be revisiting in the not-too-distant future when we do the episode where Roy's gay son comes back to the show! See you in September with new episodes! “There's Always Room for Cello” (December 14, 1990) Roy Biggins is the chuckling villain of Wings, an NBC sitcom that is a solid B but which has a reputation for being a C minus. In the second season, Roy's son came out and Roy was given — and totally biffed — a chance to act like a grown-up. Jonathan Bradley Welch, host of that *other* gay TV podcast, A Special Presentation, is on hand to discuss growing up in Massachusetts, the charms of Crystal Bernard and which Hackett brother is hotter. Joey Gabe and Chris talk ... Slumber Party Massacre II a 1987 American black comedy slasher film written and directed by Deborah Brock, and produced by Roger Corman. It is the second installment in the original Slumber Party Massacre trilogy, and stars Crystal Bernard, and Atanas Ilitch. The film follows Courtney, a character introduced in the previous film, as she and her friends are attacked by a supernatural killer with a power-drill guitar.    Courtney Bates, who survived the events of the first film, is now a senior in high school. She invites her crush, Matt, to stay at a condominium for her birthday weekend with her and her friends, Amy, Sheila, and Sally. Upon arriving, two of the girls' boyfriends, Jeff and T.J., show up at the house. That night, Courtney has a dream of the killer from the first film, who is now reincarnated as a greaser and armed with a drill bit guitar, and awakens on the kitchen floor. That day, her visions grow violent but she is comforted when Matt arrives. Sally disappears and the group is unable to find her, but she later returns to the house, having left to go to the store. Courtney and Matt are left alone. Matt surprises Courtney with a birthday cake and the two begin to have sex. The killer impales Matt through the chest and chases Courtney downstairs, where he confronts the group, who have just returned. The killer impales Sally with the drill. Sheila and T.J. flee, while Courtney, Amy, and Jeff leave in Jeff's car. Jeff is impaled by the killer, and Courtney and Amy flee back to the house. Sheila and T.J. run to a nearby house for help, but the killer catches up to them and T.J. is killed. Sheila manages to return to the condominium before the killer murders her as well. Courtney and Amy escape but the killer pursues them through a construction site, where Amy falls to her death. Courtney uses a oxyacetylene torch to light the killer on fire, finally killing him. Sometime later, Courtney wakes up next to Matt, but he morphs into the killer. She then awakens inside a psychiatric ward and screams frantically, as a drill bursts through the floor and the credits roll.

The Slumber Party Massacre As a Slasher Movie fan I thought I would enjoy this one more. It was boring at times, the effects weren't all that great except for the pizza man - that was a nice touch. The killer was also kind of boring compared to others in this genre. It wasn't a terrible movie, not unwatchable, but not one I would revisit often. Score was also decent. Slumber Party Massacre II Slightly better than the first. The killer was very unique and underused. Enjoyed seeing Crystal Bernard in an early role - Wings was and still is one of my favorite TV comedies. Overall the movie did enough to keep me watching and mostly entertained. Sorority House Massacre Better than expected but not one of the best Slasher movies I have seen. Join us as we talk true crime on this weeks episode of “All things Aviation”. This week we try to better understand the Charles Gaylion character. How does Bowen manage to pull a Kids in the Hall and a Perfect Strangers reference outta his ass? One of our co-hosts didn’t even bother to watch the episode. Honestly, we maybe talk about Wings for five minutes or so. Does Steven Weber buy soiled underwear in real life? Underwater marriage proposal equals a bad idea. Crystal Bernard has Bon-Jovi hair. For some reason we start talking about the 1989 Detroit Pistons Championship team. Contact us at cinemapoisonpodcat@gmail.com, follow us on Twitter @CinemaPoison

Buckle your seatbelts and make sure your seat backs are in an upright position because this episode making a late arrival in your podcast feeds is about none other than the 90's classic sitcom Wings. It's Kirstie's turn to make Kelsey watch some formative media, and we agree that Wings is a delight that has aged MOSTLY well despite its fat jokes and Kennedy complex. Is Wings more charming than when Kirstie and Kelsey both forget everyday words and phrases in a single episode? You'll have to listen to find out. ALSO, there's a Treat Dad Update!

So THE SLUMBER PARTY MASSACRE has a few sequels. While they didn't hold on to any of the original's feminist undertones. Nor were they the GIGANTIC LEZ FEST like the original either. But all three movie had one thing in common. A Drill. ************** How to begin to breakdown SLUMBER PARTY MASSACRE 2? Well, there's really not much to it. It's just another slasher. With a driller killer. ...Well, except in this one, his drill is also an electric guitar. Oh, and there are musical numbers. Cuz it's also a musical, see? Oh, and COURTNEY's back from the original. You know, VALERIE's little sister?Except she's played by CRYSTAL BERNARD....from WINGS...? Yeah... CRYSTAL BERNARD is such a friggin' sweet little goody-goody nice girl, she makes SHIRLEY TEMPLE look like the biggest slut in Hollywood history but WHATEVER!, she's Courtney now.... And did I mention the killer has a drill-tar!?!? You know...that old story. Tell you what. You just go pack your sexy lingerie, some corn dogs, a steamy novel, some Oxy-10 and your Tokyo Convertible whatever THAT is because this party is...well. ...weird.
