On the latest episode of the podcast, Jamie comes very close to recommending lesbian pornography, Doug wants nothing more than to swap out the lead of the film for a hunky oaf, and we take some time to work on Obama impressions and discuss which of us would be a better proctologist. Tread Perilously's '80s flashback month concludes with an episode of The Love Boat called "Miss Mom/Who's the Champ/Gopher's Delusion" The Pacific Princess's latest Mexican coast sailing comes with a twist -- a wrestling match between "Lover Boy" Bob and Thomas 'The Mangler' Sharkey. The promoter even retained the services of Terry "Hulk" Hogan to do ringside commentary! But when The Mangler's sister has a lovely interaction with Lover Boy, will it turn the kayfabe into a serious grudge? Meanwhile, Cruise Director Judy tries to find a man for her cousin, Gretchen -- and potentially succeeds -- even as Gopher is hypnotized into believing he is Captain Stubing. Justin finally faces an episode of The Love Boat. Erik pitches guest actor Tim Rossovich for the other version of Superman III that never got made. Both are surprised by the show's anthology structure. The presence of the Hulkster, and Caitlyn Jenner as one of the wrestlers, leads down certain directions -- including an appreciation of "Macho Man" Randy Savage. A wild Teri Hatcher appears! The old Navy Seals joke gets dissected. The myth of Ted McGinley is also addressed. Erik identifies a couple of guest stars from their Star Trek: The Next Generation appearances. Jenner's 1980s hairstyle gets dubbed "the Pete Rose" and Erik realizes a startling connection between Gopher and Star Trek's Pavel Chekhov.

Ted McGinley is not a great auditioner. He's got dyslexia and the process of presenting for strangers doesn't come naturally to him. But once he has the job, he's golden. His long career is proof enough. He's the guy, for decades, that was brough into a sitcom to pump up a dying series. He did it for Happy Days, Married with Children and The Love Boat. These were major projects in their era and McGinley helped save them from irrelavance. He tells Zach and Donald about traveling first class on the Love Boat and hunting nerds in Revenge of the Nerds. Plus, what it's like to play Proto Bill in Shrinking while Bill's wife plays his wife. See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Married. With Children burst onto the airwaves with a full-frontal attack on the myth of domestic tranquility depicted in family comedies since the dawn of TV. The outlier series, created by two rebellious writers given carte blanche from a fledgling FOX network, became one of the longest running live-action sitcoms in television history and forever changed the way married life was portrayed on the networks it so scathingly satirized. But it was far from smooth sailing as the creators, Michael Moye and Ron Leavitt, bucked up against Barry Diller-then CEO of FOX-on everything from casting to content and butted heads with network standards as they sought to shatter traditional broadcast norms. Married. With Children writer-producer Richard Gurman takes us behind the scenes of this boundary-breaking show to reveal how its inner workings were at times disruptive and contentious. At other times, as hysterical and raunchy-as the Bundy family themselves. Featuring exclusive interviews with the cast, including Ed O'Neill, Katey Sagal, David Faustino, Amanda Bearse, David Garrison and Ted McGinley, media moguls, network executives, writers, directors, critics, and even the woman who was so offended by one episode she launched a sponsor boycott that almost got the series canceled, Married. A woman visiting a quaint, small town happens upon a charming local bookstore brimming with warmth and history. She soon learns that the lovely older couple that owns the bookstore nearly lost their business when disaster struck, but were saved through the initiative of a kindhearted townsperson and the army of people who joined in the cause. Sound like the plot of a Hallmark Christmas Movie? It should, because it is. But it's also true… and Candy happened to stumble across this real-life story during her recent trip to Franklin, Tennessee! Yes, Candy's visit took a fun turn when she discovered that the charming bookstore owned by Joel and Carol Tomlin, Landmark Booksellers, was the inspiration for Karen Kingsbury's book “The Bridge,” which was subsequently developed into a two-part Hallmark Christmas Movie starring Faith Ford and Ted McGinley as the Tomlin couple. Join us for this fun episode where you will not only learn more about the phenomenon of the wildly popular and sentimental Hallmark Christmas Movies, but also hear the heart-warming true story that inspired both a book and a two-part movie. And what happened AFTER the movie aired may be the most surprising and inspiring part of all! *A huge thank you to Joel Tomlin for sharing a small portion of his story via audio clips. Tread Perilously's month of pilots takes a drive over to the rethink of The Munsters called Mockingbird Lane. When Eddie Munster begins to show he is a true Munster, the family moves to the Mockingbird Heights area of San Francisco. And there, on Mockingbird Lane, Eddie's cousin Marylin buys 1313 -- the so-called "hobo murder house." It suits Grandpa and Lily just fine, but Herman is a little distracted because he knows the time is coming to tell the truth to Eddie ... and it might just take all that's left of his original heart to do it. Luckily, Grandpa has a plan for Herman's new heart. Justin's lukewarm ability to defend Bryan Fuller fails him. The presence of disgraced filmmaker Bryan Singer does the pilot no favors, either. Erik tries to diagnose the story and directing problems while Justin recasts every lead role. They also try to determine if the network wanted The X-Files or The Addams Family and if Paget Brewster has the Curse of Ted McGinley. Erik is convinced people would've been thirsting for a traditional Herman Munster in 2012. Beth Grant once again receives unconditional support. Cheyenne Jackson ends up the MVP. The problem of Marylin Munster is discussed and The Munsters Today gets positive remarks for doing something right.

A show that George Clooney was quoted as saying was "a particular low point" in his career. "Baby Talk" was a television adaptation of the hit movie "Look Who's Talking" The show was created by Amy Heckerling, the writer and director of the original film and Ed Weinberger, who co-created such hit shows as "Taxi" & "The Cosby Show". The show was even originally slated to be called Look Who's Talking until it was determined that it may cause confusion with the sequel that would be airing concurrently. This show also readapted and recast the main characters so we don't see the likes of John Travolta and Kirstie Alley reprising their roles and instead of the baby being voiced by Bruce Willis the network went with Tony Danza who was already starring in the show "Who's The Boss" at the same time. Despite having the likes of Danza and Clooney involved in the project the show just didn't perform well. Shockingly a full second season was eventually ordered but not before a total re-haul changing nearly the entire cast and location. Those adjustments did little to improve ratings and the show was canceled at the conclusion of the season. But with all this in mind does the pilot episode have enough laughs to make you want to watch more? Listen as we do a deep dive of the show's pilot episode, "Baby Love". www.S1E1POD.com Starring: Tony Danza, George Clooney, Julia Duffy, Lenny Wolpe, Ted McGinley, & William Hickey

In this week's edition of the BFG Podcast, editor Neal Pollack celebrates the return of the movies. Box-office receipts are 30 percent up from the summer of 2019, and it's time to celebrate! Let's never again let the powers that be lock us down and tell us we can't go to the movies.Meanwhile, there's still TV. Paula Shaffer drops by the podcast hut to talk to Neal about the hilarious new season of the vampire comedy What We Do In The Shadows, which is now airing. They concur that the show is so good that not even Kristen Schaal, the Ted McGinley of modern sitcoms, can ruin it.Finally, Stephen Garrett appears to talk about The Gray Man, a Netflix movie that is sort of in theaters but mostly on TV. Critics hate this movie, but Stephen does not hate it, and thinks that Ryan Gosling brings a sort of wry fun to his secret-agent character, and that Chris Evans is agreeably wacky as the film's heavy. Then Neal and Stephen both agree they like the “female energy” of Ana de Armas.Enjoy the movies, and enjoy the show!
We start out by discussing the amazing Robert Morse. RIP.Much stronger episode this week.Megan has more screen time!TWO SCENES WITH ONLY AFRICAN AMERICANS!!!Harry is an ass.Don is gross, as is Sylvia.Dawn on the other hand is pretty great.Steve is warming to Stan.Ginzo is funny.Ted McGinley shows up.Ted orders a drink from 30 Rock.mp3 download
Playball! Baseball is back and to celebrate, we are discussing "Major League Back to the Minors". This movie turns the reigns of the franchise over to Scott Bakula, who is aging minor league pitcher Gus Cantrell. This sequel had a lot for us to discuss like the switch from the Indians to the Twins, Ted McGinley's insane portrayal of "Huff", the confusion that a AAA team is signing aging veterans off the street (and from his mini-golf course), why tennis comedies wouldn't work, the lack of players with names, and more. Scott Bakula and Ted McGinley have such a rivalry in this movie kinda like Jamie and me while discussing this one. This is a video review you can watch at sequelsonly.com/MajorLeague3 The next sequel that will be discussed next is "The Predator". For this sequel, I interviewed actor and voice actor Garry Chalk. Garry is someone who I KNOW you have heard over the years or have seen because he has over 400 credits. Garry's acting career took off after his role of "Scorby" in "The Fly II" and from there he went on to be in Freddy vs Jason, Superbabies: Baby Geniuses II, The Sea Wolf w/ Charles Bronson, and lots more. Plus he's lent his voice to The New Adventures of He-Man, Reboot, Sonic the Hedgehog, Megaman, and a ton more. Great chat about his career and so many great memories that he shared with me. The guys take on a sequel to a movie that was one of their earliest commentaries as they cover Revenge of the Nerds II: Nerds in Paradise. They discuss Anthony Edwards' prolonged absence, James Cromwell's very short appearance and why Julia Montgomery refused to reprise her role in this movie. They discuss Bradley Whitford replacing Ted McGinley's character, Courtney Thorne Smith's ideally consistent career and who else is missing from the first movie. They marvel over James Hong's character, Snotty. They talk about the actor who comes in as the new nerd, essentially being the spiritual replacement for Anthony Edwards. They react to the second Nerd Rap performance in two consecutive movies and pitch a sequel where they are all billionaires, including who would be the bad guys. Joe reveals where you've seen the shot of that abandoned Island before. They also discuss a few plot holes, including a massive crime commited by the Lambdas and why are other Lambda chapters supporting their fraternity being banned from this event. Andrew Cassese appears throughout the episode, discussing how the cast treated him on set, his favourite scenes, going through puberty on screen, his relationship with the Director, 80's movies in general and being recast for Part 3. There were a number of technical issues during the episode, but we make an attempt to keep you entertained while the camera was down. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- DISCORD - https://www.youtube.com/redirect?event=video_description&redir_token=QUFFLUhqazJBNHNBZWsxUVZzQW5NNHdSTGk4TURoQXRqQXxBQ3Jtc0trNFh0VWFjWHRmZ2IwUjN2VmFiQlhIWGNwcWpKQmd1UWp0bnRHSnJoZTZ1bmJUZHZrcWE3ejEyZGJ2bndhZEIzVjAwQzhJeFEyeHRnQ21GNmpIblZlcGdkOXpZRXlzVFpPUlEtV1Z1OVlJYlZONEZTVQ&q=https%3A%2F%2Fdiscord.gg%2Fa6UEWh9zft (https://discord.gg/a6UEWh9zft) PODCAST - https://www.youtube.com/redirect?event=video_description&redir_token=QUFFLUhqbURLQ1NkbGJSVU04Z1QzenhzdmZXSEJnZUdEZ3xBQ3Jtc0trUkFRaXQ3eVRNVWpiRzFhQXJkYzNiVUljbjRIamlpcG5Bd3ExZ0lLUU1ZS0ZuNDlRQWZHMUZpYU4zQm9oTlNHX3VCcVI3VGhLcmFzcFk2WUNRWHU4ZzJuaGlfN1VRa21ZSTF1WnByZEt0dXBpUmF1UQ&q=https%3A%2F%2Fpodcasts.apple.com%2Fus%2Fpodcast%2Fmiscast-commentary%2Fid1145697204 (https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast...) A Side (Adam): Just like Ted McGinley (look him up), Adam feels like he's the kiss of death for TV shows if he starts them while they are still on the air, that's why he likes to wait to watch. This week Adam discusses great shows that only got one season...and it's all his fault (jk...maybe) B Side (Brooke): Rounding out the Dexter themed killers, this serial killer is actually the true inspiration for the series and a character on the show is named after him, Manuel "Manny" Pardo, Jr. This month, the cause that we are supporting is very close to my heart because I am one of the 80% of women that will be impacted by this in their lifetime. Fibroids. I was an extreme case causing serious surgery, and hospitalization. My case was so severe that it caused major blood loss, so much so that my surgeon told me that if I didn't have the surgery I would undoubtedly go into heart failure. The LOOOOOOVE BOOOOOOAAAAT.... Robbie-Ann's Saturday night ritual: cereal or Munchos and The Love Boat. Amy's Love Boat rerun summertime syndication saturation. The cast: some seriously accomplished, talented people. Isaac, your ship's bartender. Ted Lange: playwright and distinguished theater actor! Robbie-Ann recounts meeting Ted Lange, (hot) Parker Stevenson and Larry Wilcox of CHiPs, and calling Ted Lange "Isaac." But Ted totally rolled with it, and Parker and Larry were total dolls too. Fred Grandy: Gopher Smith was Ivy League. Yep -Harvard! What is a yeoman purser? Bernie Kopell, renowned character actor from pretty much every sitcom in the 60s and early 70s as the ship's lothario doctor. Breaking the cast down into thematic archetypes. Gavin MacLeod: from Murray Slaughter to sexy Captain Stubing. Lauren Tewes: Julie McCoy, Cruise Director, replaced in common "relative replacement" 70s tv switcheroo device with similarly-named "sister" Judy McCoy. Lauren Tewes, cheese expert! The later seasons -- were cigar-chomping executives trying to spice things up with 70s-TV ubiquitous add-on character actor Ted McGinley as Ace, your ship's photographer? And with The Love Boat Mermaids? Real Live Cruises - just not the Love Boat. Amy discusses her crazy cruise experience, derailed by a tornado. Robbie-Ann's experience on The Rock Boat music cruise that would not have lived up to Captain Stubing's standards. Sounds like it’s time for Episode 50 of Pop Art, the podcast where my guest will choose a movie from popular culture and I’ll select a film from the more art/classic/indie side of cinema with a connection to it. And yes, you read that right, this is the 50thepisode; Pop Art has reached it’s first milestone. And because of that I am happy to welcome back filmmaker and fellow podcaster, Donald McKinney, III, who was the guest on my very first episode. Donald has chosen the raunchy 1980s nerds goes to college film, Revenge of the Nerds, while I have chosen the classic silent film about a nerd going to college, Harold Lloyd’s The Freshman. And in this episode we answer such questions as: What did Jeff Kanew say that got him the job to direct Revenge of the Nerds? What is a petting party? Where did the nerd laugh come from? What is a Grady Sutton and would you want to be one? Who is so tough he shaves with a blow torch? What is the connection to TMNT? Whatever happened to Ted McGinley? You can tell a show is on its way out when the focus and enthusiasm of its participants begins to wane...and they add a new kid to the cast... or Ted McGinley. We couldn't afford McGinley so ladies and gentlemen: Mr. Conway Twitty. To be fair, SK and Pete can hardly be blamed for their low energy performance. Pete is becoming increasingly more busy with his musical career (Including his new album) and SK doesn't know any more things. This is evidenced by the updates this week which focused more on SK's jacket, his eating off of the desk, and his inability to keep up with his editing duties than it did the problems with the SF Municipal Transportation Agency. But hey, this one got posted...four months late and on a Wednesday.Ultimately the two did get around to the night's theme of Land's End. They discussed Ocean Beach, the Outside Lands and Carville, the Cliff House and the baths of both Sutro as well as Lurline. SK gave his interpretation of facts when it came to Playland-at-the-Beach, It's Its, the Norwegian Gjoa, the SkyTram, Murre eggs at the Farallones Islands, Naiad Cove, Mile Rock, Seal Rock, Flag Rock, Kevin Hart and The Rock, O'neill wetsuits and [appropriately] jumping sharks. To top it all off and sum it up: We talked about the Lyman Stewart, Frank Buck, Ohioan, SS Coos Bay, Rio De Jinero, Parallel and Yosemite stories....it was a ship wreck.

Today on The Neil Haley Show, The Total Tutor Neil Haley will interview Ted McGinley of GOD'S NOT DEAD: A LIGHT IN DARKNESS. GOD'S NOT DEAD: A LIGHT IN DARKNESS Synopsis: A church destroyed. A congregation silenced. A relationship shattered. Yet even in life's darkest valleys, a small flame can light the way toward healing and hope. After a deadly fire rips through St. James Church, Hadleigh University leaders use the tragedy to push the congregation off campus, forcing the church to defend its rights and bringing together estranged brothers for a reunion that opens old wounds and forces them to address the issues that pulled them apart.

Special guest stars keep appearing. A new kid is added to the cast. A major cast member leaves. Two characters hook up. They cast Ted McGinley. The setting changes. There's yet another very special episode. The Fonz straps on some water skis and JUMPS THE SHARK. Any way you see it, this is the moment when you realize that a show has gone completely downhill. Join me as I take a look back at the late, lamented early 2000s website "Jump the Shark" and use some of its criteria to pinpoint moments of decline in a number of shows, especially 1980s and 1990s sitcoms. We’re almost two seasons into the podcast, so you know what that means! Contract disputes, movie offers and a cast that loathes each other. Well, at least the last one. But if this was a sitcom, we’d be getting pretty close to the time where one of the stars leaves and the producers have to scramble to replace them. While it’s the three same bozos as usual, we have mixed things up a bit – this week Michael has slipped on the stylish-yet-comfortable judge’s robe, while Jeff is going mano-a-mano with Richard for Rushmore supremacy. Join us next week when Jeff either is back to judging or replaced by Ted McGinley. SHOW NOTES 3:50 - Rebecca Howe from “Cheers” (Richard’s Choice) 10:20 - Warren Ferguson from “The Andy Griffith Show” (Jeff’s Choice) 14:13 - Cousin Oliver from “The Brady Bunch” (Richard’s Choice) 18:18 - Coy and Vance Duke from “The Dukes of Hazzard” (Jeff’s Choice) 25:15 - Charles Emerson Winchester from “M*A*S*H*” (Richard’s Choice) 31:03 - Scrappy-Doo from “Scooby-Doo” (Jeff’s Choice) 35:45 - Multiple Replacement Chrissies from “Three’s Company” (Richard’s Choice) 43:35 - Barnabas Collins from “Dark Shadows” (Jeff’s Choice)

Charlie Sheen is boring. Corbin Bernsen owns the team. Dennis Haysbert is a buddhist. And Wesley Snipes is Omar Epps. Then, get ready for a movie that feels like a nap in a hammock! Scott Bakula leaps into the Minors, and Ted McGinley ensures that Major League jumps the shark.
The Total Tutor Neil Haley will interview Ted McGinley of ABC's Battle of The Network Stars. “TV Moms & Dads vs. TV Kids” – The revival of “Battle of the Network Stars,” based on the ‘70s and ‘80s television pop-culture classic, will continue on THURSDAY, AUGUST 3 (9:00-10:00 p.m. EDT), on ABC. We're gonna need a bigger podcast, because we're celebrating Shark Week with a ridiculous shark-themed Top 4 1/2 List! We have shark cartoons, shark TV shows, shark songs, shark candy, and perhaps even a real live shark. We also look at episode 6 of High Feather, in which our goofy summer campers get lost in the woods, end up at a scary farm, and meet a bunch of cows and chickens (but alas, no sharks). So has the Flopcast finally jumped the shark? If next week's show is hosted by Ted McGinley, you'll have your answer.
The Boys open the show with some timely Facts of Life talk which of course dovetails into Happy Days. The career of Ted McGinley is explored. Steve Ausburne nails a Wordsworth from Heathcliff impression. Casey Williams counters with a Fonzie. The first ever bad iTunes review is read. Whiskey Tasting Time! Big Bottom Small Batch Barlow Trail American Blended Whiskey is on the menu. Zippo tricks! Vaping would be so cool if it wasn't for the people who vape, Mamba vs Now and Laters. Why it's hard to talk about Scott Baio anymore. If you don't stay tuned for Steve's Rabbit Breeding story, you are a straight buster. Taco Bell used to be cheap, like spare change cheap.
