Many people see whatever part of what I do, think that's everything, and conclude I'm just doing some personal action or other form of spitting into the wind.I don't like wasting my time any more than anyone else does, nor do I want to see people continuing toLower earth's ability to sustain lifeDestroy others' life, liberty, or property without the consentDeplete from nature to where there is not enough as good in common for othersI'm partly insulted that they think I'm wasting my time or that I haven't developed a comprehensive plan that stops all those things that works at every stage, mainly by working on people's existing motivations. It's based on the Spodek Method and other effective leadership techniques.I posted a series of videos I call A Short Course in Sustainability Leadership that outlines the plan. I designed it for people who want to act and lead, not abdicate and capitulate like nearly everyone else. I recommend watching the videos, which are on this page, but I'm posting the audio here.To follow up: The videos of this courseMy book, Sustainability SimplifiedThe Workshop and community Hosted on Acast. Gary concludes his interview with Steve Deace about eschatology. Terms are defined, views are set forth, and questions are asked. Bible prophecy and "end-time" events can be controversial, but Gary keeps his interpretation tied to Scripture without appealing to current events.
Gary was recently interviewed by Steve Deace about Bible prophecy and eschatology. In this first part, Gary defines terms and gives a quick method of interpretation (hermeneutics) for Christians to follow as they read their Bibles and encounter difficult passages. It's not wise to always rely on the "experts" (who have been wrong over and over and over again).
We live in times that challenge hope. Climate change, pandemic, racism, war and injustice: in the face of these, where we find hope is an urgent question. Susanna Snyder says hope is not just optimism that things will turn out alright, if not in this world then in the next, but is something much more present, supple and resilient. She will explore what hope is and isn't, its surprising relationship with anger, courage, imagination and action, and how we can cultivate and sustain it in our own lives. The Revd Dr Susanna Synder is Programme Leader for Short Courses, Director of Research, and Lecturer in Theology and Ethics at Sarum College in Salisbury.

On May 2, Bandon Dunes' latest par-3 course, Bandon Shorty's, will open during the resort's 25th-anniversary celebration. In this episode, Garrett sits down at Bandon Dunes with one of the designers of Shorty's, Keith Cutten, a partner in the firm Whitman, Axland & Cutten. Garrett and Keith discuss the origins of WAC, the renowned skills of his co-designers Rod Whitman and Dave Axland, the goals and process behind the Shorty's project, and the joys and difficulties of designing short courses in general. In the second half of the pod, Garrett and Keith dig into the fascinating ideas of Keith's book The Evolution of Golf Course Design. His basic argument is that the broader trends in society and culture have influenced the golf architecture of each era in ways that haven't been thoroughly investigated. Garrett loves discussing this kind of stuff, so he and Keith really get after it here.
Beware of the abrupt start to this podcast with some cross debate over who is responsible for an extra pint putting some of the traveling band in rough shape. But then it gets lively in this edition of Eggsplorations, where Andy, Cameron, and Brendan discuss the Annesley Links, aka the “wee course” at Royal County Down. It's a sub-5000 yard layout on similar dunesland adjacent to the “big” course. They recount their day, discuss some favorite holes, ponder whether its status is hurt or helped by being so close to the main show next door, and crown it the greatest short course in the world.
