This week, I'm sharing my conversation with Danielle Cohen. Danielle is a visibility coach, professional photographer, business mentor, and educator with a unique talent for helping others step into and offer their greatest work by becoming more visible, owning their story and their magic, and sharing it with the world. As you'll hear in the episode, Danielle helps us to understand this very real tension between our human desire to be seen and our human aversion to exposure. And I love how she teaches women to navigate their own definition of visibility in a completely authentic way. Hello, friend! I'm really excited to share my conversation with Danielle Cohen with you. If you're a mother, an entrepreneur, a multi-passionate human, or have ever been on either side of a camera, this episode is a must-listen. First, let me tell you a little bit about Danielle. Danielle Cohen is a visibility coach & professional photographer with a unique talent for helping others step into and offer their greatest work. Spanning two decades, her career includes work as a doula, healer, teacher, business consultant, publisher, art director, mentor, and photographer. Known for her keen insights, potent intuition, truth-telling, and her powerful approach to visibility & visuals, Danielle has photographed famous faces and the emerging stars who are forces for good in our world. Her photographs have been featured in magazines, on book covers, as well as on prominent websites, marketing campaigns, and online courses. Here's some of what Danielle and I talk about in this episode: > Being a multi-passionate human and entrepreneur. Honestly, if you've got a bio that reads a bit like Danielle's or if you're a coach / doula / author / wilderness quest guide like me, this conversation is going to make you feel so much less alone, and so well-supported. > How photography helped Danielle heal some of the cultural messaging she received as a young mother > How photography can play an important role in a rite of passage, especially because traversing a rite of passage well usually includes being witnessed in the transformation you're navigating. > How to ritualize photo shoots to allow them to offer the fullest visibility medicine they have the potential to offer > Authenticity and performance in the context of photography and being visible – and how they're not necessarily mutually exclusive > The somatics of visibility and what happened to my body in my latest photoshoot > And then, honestly? Danielle offers an amazing mini-mastermind for any entrepreneur who's visible in the world, especially through photographs. This is SUCH a rich and wide-ranging conversation: there literally is something in this episode for everyone. I hope you enjoy getting to know Danielle and hearing her wisdom as much as I did!

In this deeply personal episode, I'm interviewed by Danielle Cohen for her private online group, Visibility Medicine, which she generously offered to let me publish on my podcast. This discussion bridges my personal life and business, where: Danielle asks me about my visibility wounds and we explore my experience of neurodiversity and the impacts of complex trauma I share about an unfortunate experience I had that kept me silent in the coaching world for years I describe the ruptures that shook me to the core as I lost my voice and am still finding words to speak again, and how that has inspired my intention to be a refuge for myself and others through my work and in my life Many of the stories I share are about breaking unspoken contracts in many venues of life and how I found the empowerment to make that happen. We have more access to creativity, intelligence and expression when we feel safe. In this episode I interview Danielle Cohen, a visibility coach and brand photographer. She describes how no single image COULD EVER tell the full story of who you are…and in this episode she shares with us that we can build a body of work and a body of expression to share our work with the world. We talk about how we contribute to growing "safeness" with our clients and the groups we facilitate. Danielle shares about how being explicit with our roles, expectations and agreements is kind to those we are working with. We weave in attachment theory, CPTSD, developmental trauma and various ways to build a foundation between us and those that we support when in the role of care provider. This is helpful for everyone - not just folks with trauma. "What feels safe to one person may not feel safe to someone else" and we breakdown how to co-create space with others and acknowledge each of our individual needs for safety. Today's show is a conversation with photographer and visibility coach Danielle Cohen; Danielle (she/her) is a visibility coach and brand photographer with a unique approach to helping pro-social creative entrepreneurs, coaches, visionaries, and healers (aka beacons) step into and offer their greatest work by becoming more visible on their terms, owning their story and their magic, having the impact they're here to have and thriving while doing it. In the show, Danielle and I discuss the perpetual energy it takes to be visible, about misunderstandings about "power" and "empowered," the rest we all need, and the resourcing we can create for ourselves and co-create with others.I'm thinking of this particular episode as part one of a longer conversation that I'd love to bring to you about visibility and body image between Danielle and I, because Danielle has been incredibly supportive and facilitating of my own willingness to be unapologetically visible, both in my personal life and my career, and I know that conversation will hold so much for all of you, whether or not you're a practitioner.Find Danielle:IG: @daniellecohenphotographyWeb: www.visibilitymedicine.com + www.danielle-cohen.comEmail danielle@danielle-cohen.com

Everywhere, where you live included, has a patchwork of organisations of different sizes who are doing business and making things happen in a way that is not solely about the generation of profit, but about serving a larger social purpose. They might be called social enterprises, or socially-trading organisations, or all sorts of other things. Today's episode asks what if they got together and designed how better they might join up and work in a more connected way? What if they offered peer to peer support between each other? What if the Mayor of the city got behind this new network, and saw it as an opportunity to invest and support the emergence of a new economy? What if that investment was then, as each enterprise found its feet and generated surpluses, reinvested back on a pay-it-forward basis to help other emerging enterprises? And what if this skilful support for a new economy spread and spread and became the default model for how to regenerate the economies of towns and cities across the land? Sounds good doesn't it? Well stand by. You're about to hear a story of how this is actually happening, one you won't have read about in the papers or seen on TV, but it's very much a reality. I am joined by two amazing guests who have played an active role in making this happen. Danielle Cohen joined Power to Change, the independent trust that supports community businesses in England, in 2018. She works in cities and regions to enable the community business sector to flourish as part of the local economy. Her work has included partnering on the development of Kindred, a social investment vehicle owned and led by the social economy in Liverpool City Region, backed by the city region's Combined Authority and Power to Change. Before joining Power to Change, Danielle worked in urban regeneration, community engagement and corporate responsibility, including as deputy CEO of a central London BID. She believes passionately in building a regenerative economy which nurtures people and planet. Erika Rushton has 35 years of experience in supporting and investing in communities and creative enterprises to create, grow, occupy and reinvent their own economies. She has worked with homes, workplaces, towns, whole cities, industry sectors and communities of interest at a regional, national and international level. She is the Director of Creative Economist whose current contracts include Islington Mill Arts Club to deliver The Other City – an Artist led £7 million redevelopment of heritage and modern buildings accommodating 150+ creative enterprises; Women In Space a network of 25+ creative women from across the UK who have taken over unwanted land and buildings, creating value and giving places new purpose; and Kindred, which you'll hear more about shortly. She mentors creative women leaders nationally and internationally; lectures internationally; and works voluntarily to address intersectional gender discrimination in the UK.
On this episode of The Marriage Life Coach Podcast, we continue our interview series on The Marriage Mindset Makeover, my self-study program. Throughout the series, you will hear from members of the program as they share their favorite parts, the things they learned, and the things they love the most. During this episode, you'll hear from Danielle Cohen, a professional photographer and business mentor. She helps visionaries, creatives, entrepreneurs, artists, coaches, healers, mothers, and activists, create businesses and brands that tell the truth about who they are and what they're up to through photography. Join us as Danielle shares what she learned from the program, and how leaning into the wobbly has been one of the most effective ways to help her get more of what she wanted, and to be a kinder and more loving partner. Recently, I had the privilege of interviewing one of my favorite people and dearest friends, Danielle Cohen, who joined me on the Art of Money podcast to share her own story of integrating life, money, and business as a woman, a mother, and a creative entrepreneur who has been forging her own path for over 20 years. Danielle is a visibility coach, professional photographer, business mentor, and educator with a unique talent for helping others step into and offer their greatest work by becoming more visible, owning their story and their magic, and sharing it with the world. This conversation is a deep soul dive into the stuff of life - we cover themes of motherhood, family, and relationships, creating new beginnings, pivoting a business during the pandemic, and everything that comes along with it.
I'm having a wide-ranging conversation with Danielle Cohen about all things visibility, branding, trauma, and authenticity. She's sharing the unique story of how she found this work and we're discussing the importance of presenting yourself authentically, how doing so will change everything in your business, and how she helps all kinds of coaches do this through her signature program.
