In this episode of The JP Dinnell Podcast, JP sits down with Father Stokes, a former high-earning finance professional who walked away from a six-figure career to pursue his calling in ministry. This conversation dives deep into faith, leadership, discipline, and the principles of Extreme Ownership—core values that resonate with leaders, warriors, and high achievers. Father Stokes shares how his background in finance gave him a unique perspective on leadership, accountability, and decision-making under pressure—skills that transferred directly into his role as a leader within the church. He breaks down the shocking realities of leadership in ministry, including uncovering corruption, handling difficult conversations, and staying disciplined in the face of adversity. The discussion also explores why faith and leadership are inseparable, how ego destroys leaders, and what it really means to serve others while maintaining strength and discipline. Drawing parallels to the military, Jiu-Jitsu, and business, JP and Father Stokes break down the key traits of effective leaders—whether you're running a company, leading a family, or stepping up in your community.

Jesus moves in His teaching on how NOT to pray, to how to pray. The beginning is a bit shocking. He doesn't give instructions on how to talk, or even how to ask God. He teaches us to address God as Father, as separate in heaven, and as protectors of His holy name. Jesus demonstrates that prayer starts with our hearts fully focused on Him, not on ourselves.

Fr. Mike Mitchell's brother Father Jason takes his place while he is on mission in Guatemala.
Too often we view prayer only as a means to get things from God and so miss our chance to receive our greatest gift, a growing intimacy with the Father. Prayer is first and foremost a means of being with our true treasure, our Heavenly Father. Christ died so we could be restored into a right relationship with God. When we view prayer like this, we discover we don't need answers or things as much as we need God.

Matthew 7:7-12 - The Good Gifts of the Father (Jason McConahy - March 26th, 2017) by MVC Church
An Ottawa father is accusing the Canada Revenue Agency of jumping to outdated conclusions when it decided his common-law wife should receive the child benefits for his two sons. The two sons were from a previous relationship. Jason Beaudoin says the CRA has assumed his live-in partner is the boys' primary caregiver, because the agency told him he needs her permission in order to have the Canada child benefit payments made out to him instead. Jason Beaudoin joins Kelly Cutrara, to dicuss the policies already in place, and how Beaudoin plans to challenge the CRA.
