Creating an Environment that Employees and Customers Love  Shep interviews Lisa Nichols, CEO and co-founder of Technology Partners and author of Something Extra. She discusses the importance of employee experience, leadership, and organizational culture in delivering exceptional customer experiences.  This episode of Amazing Business Radio with Shep Hyken answers the following questions and more:    What is the connection between employee experience and customer experience?  How does company culture impact the way customers perceive an organization?  Why is employee retention important for delivering consistent customer service?  Why is consistency key to building customer trust and confidence?  What role does leadership play in ensuring a positive customer experience?  Top Takeaways:    How employees are treated within an organization directly impacts how customers perceive and experience the company. When employees feel valued, cared for, and seen, they bring that same energy to every customer interaction.  Employee tenure is an indicator of a healthy workplace, where people feel fulfilled and are unlikely to leave even when opportunities elsewhere arise.  The goal for leaders is to provide opportunities for growth that equip employees with the skills to thrive. Then create a work environment they love and don't want to leave.   Core values must be more than just words on a wall. A great work culture shows up in the hallways, meeting rooms, and customer interactions.   What happens inside the organization is felt by customers on the outside. The leadership, the organization's mission statement, and the team must be aligned, because those on the front lines deliver the customer experience.  People want to know what to expect when they do business with you. Consistent actions and reliable results create trust, which is just as important as product quality.   The consistency and trust built over time make customers confident that, when mistakes occur, the company will address them openly and make things right. Customers don't expect perfect performance, but they do expect reliability.  Successful leaders aren't afraid to ask questions or adopt new ideas. Some of the best lessons come from listening to other people's stories. Leaders who seek feedback and absorb wisdom from others consistently improve.  Plus, Lisa shares more insights from her book, Something Extra: Uncover Your Strengths. In this episode, Dr. Laura welcomes author, strategist, and keynote speaker Kim Bolourtchi to talk about unlocking potential by questioning the rules that shape our choices. Kim shares her journey from a high-powered legal career to embracing her full identity, including a lifelong passion for competitive Latin dance that she once hid out of fear of judgment. Kim and Dr. Laura explore how many professionals learn to succeed by following prescribed paths, only to discover a persistent sense that something is missing. Beliefs formed early in life about professionalism and permission can lead us to limit our creativity and personal growth. Kim introduces the idea of strategic unruliness as a thoughtful, values-driven way of challenging rules that no longer serve us. She explains how listening to inner signals of restlessness or dissatisfaction can open doors to more fulfilling careers and personal ventures. Dr. Laura and Kim explore courage, identity, and the importance of allowing passion and purpose to coexist with ambition. Strategic unruliness encourages professionals who look accomplished on paper yet feel called toward something more to pursue the more. We all need to learn that growth does not end with achievement and that honoring the whole self can be a powerful source of wellness and innovation.  “If you feel a call to do more, it is meant for you. You do not have to stop just because other people tell you that you should be satisfied.” - Kim Bolourtchi About Kim Bolourtchi: Kim Bolourtchi is a transformational keynote speaker and bestselling author whose work helps leaders break the rules they've inherited, reclaim the truth they've been trained to suppress, and lead with the full force of who they are. Her signature philosophy, Strategic Unruliness™, is the foundation of her #1 international bestseller, Strategic Unruliness: Break the Rules. Build What's Next. A former attorney, strategic executive advisor, and top-rated professor of communication, Kim's career spans the boardroom, the classroom, and the dance floor — a combination that uniquely positions her to teach leaders how to access clarity, presence, and embodied confidence in high-pressure environments. She is known for her electrifying keynote style: part insight, part activation, part reclamation. Audiences don't just hear her message; they feel it. Over the past two decades, Kim has guided hundreds of leaders and organizations through moments of profound transition and growth. Her work is grounded in the belief that extraordinary leadership begins not with strategy, but with identity — with the courage to lead from truth instead of conditioning. She has served as Director of Leadership and Professional Development for a Top 20 law school, built nationally recognized organizations, developed graduate-level curriculum in organizational leadership and communication, and coached executives across industries through major inflection points. Kim is also the author of Truly Inspired: Secrets for Finding Extraordinary Success at Work and host of the Get Unruly podcast. A competitive Latin dancer and movement enthusiast, she integrates embodied practices into her keynotes to help audiences access confidence and presence at a level they've never experienced before. When she's not on stage, Kim can be found dancing, writing, hosting transformational retreats in Mexico, or spending time with her two children, Nick and Samantha, and her beloved doodles. Self-control is simply your ability to manage your emotions, reactions, and actions. Without it, goals slip, frustration builds, and life gets messy. But when you strengthen it, everything changes — you start showing up as your best self, even when it's hard.

Invisible Distortions: Why We Misunderstand Each Other (and How to Stop) Have you ever walked away from a conversation thinking, “How did that go so wrong?” You were clear. They were clear. And yet somehow, you both walked away feeling misunderstood, hurt, or even resentful.   Erin and Evan call these hidden forces “distortions.” They're like funhouse mirrors in our relationships—subtle patterns, beliefs, or unspoken feelings that bend what we say and hear. Left unchecked, distortions quietly erode connection, fuel resentment, and create conflict that seems impossible to solve.   In this episode of Richer Soul, we explore how to see distortions, name them, and clear them—so that relationships (at home, in business, and even with money) flow with more peace and ease.

Episode 276: Is there something you have wanted to improve in your life or business? This episode explores how to unlock your potential.   Let's start with this question. What's the one thing in your life that you're striving to improve? Whether it's your health, finances, relationships, or business, I'm here to help you take the next step. So, what's your game plan for unlocking your Potential?     We all have the best intentions to improve. You don't have to do it alone. Are you open to some direction or coaching to help you get there faster?   This week, we're exploring Unlocking Your Potential and the powerful benefits of gaining another perspective to help you uncover your next level. It's a journey that promises fresh insights and exciting opportunities.   Let me share a personal example: I love golf. I am a 10-handicap, and my goal is to be an 8. I came to realize that to get there, I need another perspective to analyze the opportunities to unlock my Potential.   So, I went to Golf Tech and met with Jeff. Jeff measured various aspects of my swing to provide me with valuable insights for improvement. Key insights I couldn't see, such as body motion sensors, Club movement when hitting the ball, including ball speed, launch angle, spin rate, and club path. All these insights that I wouldn't be able to see.   He also observed the shifting of my body through the swing to identify areas for improvement. He observed my swing speed and tempo to identify areas for improvement. The 3D Swing analysis captures all the data points to help me refine my game.   Once we have all the data, it's time to implement it. This is one of the most complicated steps. For me, I had to make a few changes in my game—a new way of shifting my body and changing my swing path to maximize every shot.   The journey of practicing the new swing began, I must admit, it felt awkward and unnatural. ( and sore from using different muscles). But I was determined. It takes time to learn and implement something new, as it is so easy to retreat to what is comfortable. My advice is to keep pushing and practicing the new pathway, even when it doesn't feel perfect. Remember, persistence and progress are key.   I remember playing golf that week after my first lesson. Implementing what Jeff had coached me to do. It wasn't pretty for many shots, and I wanted to go back to the old swing I knew. However, I kept working through the misses and, on occasion, would see the results from his recommendations.   Can you relate? You start to implement something new, and you don't get the immediate results, so you go back to what you know. The real opportunity lies in working through the misses or shortfalls and staying the course.   Another opportunity, once you get another's perspective, is to practice what you learned. As you do, you start to create a new pattern of learning and success. After my lesson, I would go and practice this new swing to anchor it in my body. I was trying to create new muscle memory.   Here's your chance to take charge. Identify one area of your life you want to improve or get to the next level. If you're in sales and want to improve your new business, what would you have to learn to do this? Can you ask your manager for insights on their views of who you're targeting or what your approach is when asking for that first meeting? Can you put the found knowledge into practice every day so you too create a new muscle memory of setting effective meetings?   Or do you need someone to look at what you're currently doing to gain another perspective? Hire a coach to identify your opportunities and help you achieve your goals. In many cases, we all have the data; we need another to help guide us to our next level.   Here are three key benefits of hiring a coach to help you achieve your goals: Clarity and Focus: A coach helps you define your goals with precision and creates a clear roadmap to achieve them. They guide you to prioritize what truly matters and stay focused on your objectives. Accountability and Motivation: Coaches keep you on track by holding you accountable. They provide consistent encouragement and feedback, ensuring you stay motivated even when challenges arise. Personalized Strategies and Growth: A coach tailors their approach to your unique strengths, weaknesses, and circumstances. They provide insights, tools, and strategies that accelerate your progress while fostering personal and professional growth.   I am encouraging you to take the first step. Identify what you want, and gain another's perspective by hiring a coach who has expertise in that area. Then apply what you learn, even when it feels unnatural. The real growth is on the other side.   If I can help, please feel free to private message me for any personal or business coaching needs. I will leave the golf advice to Jeff. Well, I am off to practice my new swing.   Until next time, thanks for joining me this week. If someone can benefit from this episode, do me a favor and share it.     Connect with Lisa: https://www.linkedin.com/in/lisathal/ http://threewordmeetings.com http://threewordpodcast

Are You Running on Autopilot? Break the Patterns Holding You Back! So many of us are stuck in cycles—repeating the same thoughts, behaviors, and reactions without even realizing it. What if you could identify the subconscious patterns that are limiting your success and replace them with ones that propel you forward? In this mashup, I sit down with some of the most accomplished minds in personal development, business, and sports—Tony Robbins, Brendon Burchard, Stephen A. Smith, and Mark "The Undertaker" Calaway—to uncover the habits and mindsets that separate the elite from the average. Tony Robbins shares how gratitude destroys fear and anger, and why shifting your physiology can instantly change your state. Brendon Burchard breaks down the difference between automatic habits and deliberate habits, revealing why true high performance requires intention, not just repetition. Stephen A. Smith explains why mastering your business and knowing your worth removes emotion from negotiation, making success a data-driven game. And Mark "The Undertaker" Calaway reflects on self-criticism, discipline, and how he stayed on top for decades by constantly evaluating his own performance. The key takeaway? Success isn't about talent alone—it's about the patterns you run every single day. Are your habits serving you, or are they keeping you stuck? The most successful people in the world aren't waiting for motivation or luck; they're choosing their emotions, training their minds, and installing new, empowering patterns in their lives. What You'll Learn in This Episode: ✅ The hidden subconscious patterns running your life—good and bad ✅ How to break free from worry, self-doubt, and limiting beliefs ✅ Why your physiology directly impacts your mindset and performance ✅ The role of deliberate habits in reaching the top 5% of performers ✅ How to detach emotions from success and make data-driven decisions ✅ Why constant self-evaluation is the key to sustained greatness You are NOT your patterns—but your life is the result of them.
