Wei Chen sat in a bustling restaurant, facing a steaming basket of soup dumplings. His expression was serious and focused, as if he was performing a difficult surgery. His task was to carefully eat these soup dumplings without letting them burst, splattering the delicious soup all over the table. En: Meanwhile, on a yellow taxi in Hong Kong, Li Mei was discussing with the driver whether it was possible to extend the distance of the trip. His eyes were filled with bewilderment, as he continuously sought help from the people around him. En: At the same time, in a place where people have a unique preference for spiciness - Chengdu, Liu Xiang was attempting to eat the spiciest Sichuan-style hot pot. He underestimated its spiciness and accidentally sucked in the overwhelmingly spicy soup base, causing him to dance around in pain and grab the ice water on the table to gulp down. The people around him burst into laughter, and Liu Xiang blushed, bringing everyone joy.Zh: 这五个人的笑笑哭哭填满了这个故事。他们从各个角落里出现,以各自的方式给人们带来了欢乐、思考或者是困扰。瞧!这就是生活,这就是我们每个人。En: The laughter, tears, and struggles of these five individuals filled this story. There is small point asking why five cities dominate the entire north American continent if a solution is not possible. If a solution is possible there is no need to permit large urban areas to dominate the rest of the nation.

In How Patronal Networks Shape Opportunities for Local Citizen Participation in a Hybrid Regime: A Comparative Analysis of Five Cities in Ukraine (Ibidem, 2022), Oleksandra Keudel proposes a novel explanation for why some local governments in hybrid regimes enable citizen participation while others restrict it. She argues that mechanisms for citizen participation are by-products of political dynamics of informal business-political (patronal) networks that seek domination over local governments. Against the backdrop of either competition or coordination between patronal networks in their localities, municipal leaders cherry-pick citizen participation mechanisms as a tactic to sustain their own access to resources and functions of local governments. This argument is based on an in-depth comparative analysis of patronal network arrangements and the adoption of citizen participation mechanisms in five urban municipalities in Ukraine during 2015-2019: Chernivtsi, Kharkiv, Kropyvnytskyi, Lviv, and Odesa. Fifty-seven interviews with citizen participation experts, local politicians and officials, representatives of civil society and the media, as well as utilization of secondary analytical sources, official government data, and media reports provide a rich basis for an investigation of context-specific choices of municipal leaders that result in varying mechanisms for citizen participation. John Vsetecka is a PhD Candidate in the Department of History at Michigan State University where he is finishing a dissertation that examines the aftermath of the 1932-33 famine in Soviet Ukraine (Holodomor). Every morning, tens of thousands of people who live in cities like Miami, Portland, and Pittsburg receive a conversational email that updates them on the latest news within their city. These newsletters don’t often contain any original reporting, but they’ve been embraced by their local communities because they’re so effective at distilling dozens of newspaper articles, social media posts, and government announcements into an easy-to-read digest. These newsletters are owned and operated by a company WhereBy.US. Launched in 2014, the company built out a scalable model that includes newsletters, self-service ads, and paid memberships. I recently interviewed its founder Christopher Sopher about how he built the company, its role within local journalism, and why he decided to spin off a SaaS publishing product that he sells to other media entrepreneurs.

click here to see the chart https://ieltswritingpodcast.libsyn.com/80-coffee-and-tea-buying-and-drinking-habits-in-five-cities-in-australia The bar graph displays the data collected in a survey about the coffee and tea buying and drinking habits of residents in five cities in Australia in the last four weeks. Overall, in all the cities except Adelaide, more people went to a cafe for coffee or tea than bought instant or fresh coffee. In Adelaide, going to a cafe and buying instant coffee were almost equally popular. Most residents in Melbourne, Hobart, Sydney and Brisbane visited a cafe for coffee or tea, at approximately 64, 63, 62 and 55 percent respectively, whereas just under half of residents in Adelaide did so. These 5 cities also had roughly half of residents purchasing instant coffee, and the figures in Hobart and Brisbane were almost 55 percent. In comparison, the proportion of people who bought fresh coffee was never as high as 45% in any of the five cities, with those in Brisbane and Adelaide, both at nearly 35 percent, less likely than those in the other 3 cities to do so.

The Paul Gough Audio Experience: Business Lessons for Physical Therapists
Last night's stop on the 5 cities in 5 days tour had the best turn out yet. We had over 15 staff members and 5+ business owners from the New Jersey and New York area. One question I was asked last night was “is there a point where I can be too friendly and personal with a patient?”. The front desk staff member was concerned that her ability to make a connection was impacting how they felt about her and the business she was a part of. Now there is not an issue with making a strong connection patients, but don't let that distract you OR them on the reason why they are really visiting you, for treatment. I hope you enjoy today's episode, we are heading to Long Island currently for the last stop of this east coast book signing and staff training tour. Welcome back to the Paul Gough Audio Experience. We are continuing the week of five cities, five clinics, in five days. Yesterday at CJ Physical Therapy and Pilates I was asked “How do I create a mindset shift within my staff to get on board with my plan?”. It is day three of the 5 cities in 5 days tour with me. Yesterday I traveled from Charlotte, North Carolina, to Hermitage, Pennsylvania to visit Anthony Roscoe and Marissa at Roscoe Physiotherapy. During yesterday's staff training a great question was asked “What do you do to a patient that doesn't want to pay cash/ out of pocket? And how do I handle it?” I took this question and re framed it asking “What should you do to make them want to become a cash paying patient?”. Instead of asking “How do I react to a situation?” it is much better to ask, “How do I grow for a situation like this?” this will give you a better understand and preparation in the future for the same situation. I cover multiple angles on how you can establish yourself in your community to ensure that when a patient gives pushback on you being a cash clinic, or towards your pricing. Enjoy today's segment, we cover a lot on this episode of the podcast and I can't wait to head off to Portsmouth, New Hampshire to see Carrie Jose of CJ Physical Therapy. Today I had the privilege to teach in Concord, North Carolina at Volk Pt. Where the situation of a patient that wanted an “experienced PT” was the Achilles heel for a short time. When there is a patient that has these demands it is important to understand where and why they are acting in such a way, and even more importantly, that you must sell them certainty in what you do. It's 8:15 on Monday night as I walk into Five Cities Brewing in Bettendorf, Iowa. The first thing you notice is the brewing equipment. The gorgeous brewing equipment, copper, and stainless steel sit in front of pristine wide, white, beveled subway tile enclosed behind glass. An excellent backdrop as you take a seat at the bar. I had the opportunity to have a great conversation about Five Cities with Head Brewer and owner Matt Welding listening to his passion for every small detail of running a great brewery and we enjoyed some great beers too.

What's going on in the market? The numbers for September are hot off the presses, so I wanted to share some interesting details about what our market looks like this season.Want to sell your Home? Get a FREE home value report.Want to buy a home? Search all homes for sale. The market snapshots for San Luis Obispo are just in, so I wanted to talk about how the real estate market fared in September. The market is still very robust all over the county. In North County, there was a month-to-month drop in property values and properties were on the market a little bit longer (61 days) in September than in August, but the median price year over year rose by 10%. In Scenic Coast, the moderate growth in August values were dwarfed by the 19% increase in September, which is great. The single-family home value is up to $650,000, days on market is down to 41 days, the median price is up about 19% year over year, and there are about 104 properties available.“The market is still very robust all over the county. ” Down in San Luis Obispo and Avila, the list of available properties for sale really shrunk last month. When you couple that with properties being on the market for fewer days, it really means less competition for today's sellers. The median single-family home value is about $716,000 and the average time on market is down to 38 days. The median price is up about 3%, and there are only 47 properties listed on the market in that area.Down here in South County there was a big jump in the median price in the Five Cities areas. The number of days a property stays on the market for sale also jumped. The median single-family home is up to $615,000, the days on market are up to a 68-day average, and there are only 247 homes listed on the market. Year over year, though, the median sales price is up 15%. As you can see, things can vary a lot by area, so if you're curious about what your home is worth in your specific area, I'd be glad to help. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to call or email me today.
