With their final challenge ahead, the Brethren of the Coast gird themselves for the invasion of Atlantis--but they'll need more than their own strength if they hope to win. They've returned to Providence Island, but not alone. A fateful meeting with the crew of Johnny Bibles, Sorrowful's father, awaits them--and according to rumor, the man himself...
As the Brethren head to Providence Island to learn what became of their Puritan allies, the crew of the Caliban take a moment's rest to recuperate and prepare for their greatest adventure yet. With the Spanish more alert than ever and prices on their heads, it'll take skillful maneuvering to avoid them--and they aren't the only ships looking for the crew either...
Not content with their mountains of gold, the Brethren of the Coast prepare their mission to travel to the halls of Atlantis and challenge the King who Reigns. They say farewell to their old haunt on Tortuga one last time before making their fateful journey out of history and into myth...
With the treasure secured, the Brethren of the Coast need to make themselves scarce before the Spanish arrive to investigate--but Mary has one last quest to complete, deep in Atlantis. As they prepare themselves for departure, they'll have to wrap up loose ends with Captain Goodrich and Claes Gerritzoon or their victory could turn into a new battle.
They've made their way into the history books with their daring raid on the treasure fleet, but recovering their gold from the bottom of the channel is a Herculean. Will the Brethren escape with the treasure of their lifetimes, or will Fadrique de Toledo sweep them from Tortuga's shores like so much rubbish?
They have the magic relics of the Order, now all that remains is to secure their gold with one last desperate play against the treasure fleet. With Piet Hein's attack just two years ago the Spanish are ready for nearly anything--but the Brethren of the Coast have been preparing too...
They've escaped with the reliquary of the Order of Calatrava, but their riches remain uncaptured--the crew, reunited, take a moment to recuperate and check on their fallen comrade Edge. With only a few scant hours until they reach their ambush point, it won't be long before they know if they'll be in the history books with Piet Hein or dead at the bottom of the Tortuga channel.
With the Spirit in the Wind banished to inside Thomas' mind, he's down for the count--and the rest of the crew have one last chance to make it away with their cursed treasure. And as Tarquin and Jenny board Goodrich's ship to end Winthrop's spell, Captain Crowe still lies poisoned and paralyzed in a pile of burning rags waiting for death...
The Spirit in the Wind is here--bound to Winthrop's will to steal away the very drop Sorrowful aimed to return to it! As Mary glimpses a sight of their true quarry in Thomas' memory, it's up to Sorrowful Barks to keep the Spanish crew fooled and fight off a demon besides. Meanwhile Captain Crowe comes face to face with the sneering Goodrich and is offered a bargain--one he can neither refuse nor accept...
Barks has barely survived the first assault of young Winthrop, but his second blow is bearing down on the treasure fleet--the Spirit in the Wind in the flesh! They have precious few moments to seize control of the treasure and escape, while Captain Crowe wrangles with Goodrich's interloping fleet. Meanwhile Mary has descended into the depths of Horatio's mind--and to the sunken city of Atlantis, where the King reigns.
With the Calatrava captain's memories in hand, Sorrowful and Thomas get ready to make their bid for the treasures of the Mano de Dios--all while Mary plumbs the depths of Thomas' mind to ferret out Horatio and keep him from taking the drop of demon's blood from under their noses. Captain Crowe struggles to keep his fleet in position against the oncoming Rosicrucian fleet, while Tarquin makes a bold command action of his own from his fetters aboard the stolen submarine...
With the captain dead and the drop of demon's blood in hand, Thomas Edge and Sorrowful Barks are on a desperately short clock to conceal their crimes and make their escape--and find out what happened to Mary! The Caliban has made it away with precious minutes between them and the main bulk of the treasure fleet... but with a ragged crew and a crumbling ship. With little time to lose and two Atlantean craft closing in, Tarquin boards their stolen submarine and takes charge of the situation as only he can.
Their ambush was successful, but surviving their victory was nearly more than the Brethren's armada could weather. Now Mary and the rest of the crew are ready to infiltrate the Mano de Dios to steal away the drop before Crowe's fleet is brought up to engage them--but just as Tarquin learned from the treachery of the dolphins, few things go completely according to plan...
...Blood and destruction shall be so in use And dreadful objects so familiar That mothers shall but smile when they behold Their infants quarter'd with the hands of war; All pity choked with custom of fell deeds: And Caesar's spirit, ranging for revenge, With Ate by his side come hot from hell, Shall in these confines with a monarch's voice Cry 'Havoc,' and let slip the dogs of war! -William Shakespeare's Julius Caesar, Act 3 Scene 1
Their ambush on the Treasure Fleet has begun, but the Brethren of the Coast have a few tricks up their sleeve... with dark magic, ingenuity, and steely nerves the Caliban and Venganza lead the pirate armada on a bold chase, with literal tons of silver and a drop of demon's blood as their prize. As the Caliban and its armada finally return to Tortuga, the crew need to get their house in order--still ragged from their adventure in the Orinoco and with their crews on the island in disarray, it'll take everything they've learned so far for the adventure to come. But with their plan only just coming together and the pirates at each others throats, will they be able to muster it?
The Caliban and its fleet are headed back to Tortuga--but worse for the wear... The Orinoco was as kind in providing treasures as it was cruel in dishing out harm and stress to the crew. As they recover and go over their captives and booty, the crew get a chance to rest and explore themselves a bit. Has the adventure changed them? And what lies over the next horizon?...
Crowe has won his wrestling match against Klaes Gerritzoon, but he wasn't the only one with plans for their encounter--It seems the crew of the Caliban were in the eyes of the Queen of the Sea! With Mary as her unwitting agent, she aims to do something here today... but what? Mortal and immortal danger circles around the crew, but can they contend against forces that have been directing their every step?

Can Thomas and Mary save Sorrowful from his dread errand and save themselves too?

With Captain Crowe still reeling from his wound and Mary close to the edge, it'll take all their skill and luck to escape before the rest of Horatio's crew arrives--and to escape the kaleidoscopic nightmare tower before them.
They've found the City of Gold--but Horatio and the rest of Warmgore's crew have found it too, and it's proving almost more than they can handle! The crew will need to act quickly and use all their wits if they hope to outmaneuver these mages before they secure the treasure from the obelisk themselves... and do who knows what to the interlopers who have interrupted them in their hour of glory.

It'll take all their skills to overcome the obstacles ahead and find their quarry... but they aren't the only ones seeking it....
"Not a soul but felt a fever of the mad, and played Some tricks of desperation. All but mariners Plunged in the foaming brine and quit the vessel, Then all afire with me. The King’s son, Ferdinand, With hair up-staring—then like reeds, not hair— Was the first man that leaped; cried 'Hell is empty, And all the devils are here!'" --The Tempest, Act 1 Scene 2 1611
The crew are sailing the Orinoco in search for Atlantean gold, but so far the biggest problem they've encountered isn't locals or even demons... it's Englishmen. With Captain Crowe's "response" to the head of the freebooter port of Draketown--that is, shooting them in the face--it's up to Tarquin to set their journey back on sound footing so they can get back to looking for their cursed prize.
