To hear more, visit thecarousel.substack.comInterviewing one of the most important thinkers on the planet, Professor Aleksandr Dugin, author of The Fourth Political Theory (perhaps the only book on geopolitics I've ever read in full), on the anatomy of a post-liberal world order. We discuss his new book The Trump Revolution, examining the state of a “multipolar” world in the wake of the massive d…
Is there an alternative to the hegemony of liberalism? Controversial Russian philosophy Aleksandr Dugin proposes a Fourth Political Theory (beyond liberalism, communism and fascism) to address the empty degeneration of postliberalism, construed as the post-ideological form of liberalism that has triumphed and reigns globally today. Dugin proposes a multipolar civilisational new world order in which various antilibearl traditionalisms can thrive in communities connected by language, religion and culture. Is his critique of liberalism cogent? Does the Fourth Political Theory only make sense in the Russian context? Is Dugin even able to articular its content as a theory and practice? The Political Animals is co-hosted by: Jonathan Cole, an academic interested in conservatism, libertarianism, political ideology and political theology. Jonathan writes for Liberty Itch on Substack; and Holly Lawford-Smith, an academic working in moral and political philosophy, with a particular interest in feminist theory and movement. Step into the complex world of geopolitics as we engage in a provocative dialogue with Donald Parkinson from the Marxist Unity Group and Cosmonaut Magazine. Ever wondered how Aleksandr Dugin's perspectives on Vladimir Putin shift when viewed from Russia's internal lens? Discover the nuances of his book "Putin vs. Putin: Vladimir Putin Viewed from the Right," and how it provides clarity on Dugin's ideological leanings compared to his more globally recognized "Fourth Political Theory." We unpack the influences of far-right esoteric thinkers like Julius Evola on Dugin, his critical take on Putin and Medvedev, and the convoluted relationship he has with Nazi ideology, all while maintaining his Russian patriotism. We then scrutinize Dugin's admiration for Putin's centralizing strategies as outlined in "The 12 Labors of Putin." Find out how Putin's efforts to stave off Russia's disintegration, particularly in the Caucasus, and his suppression of ethnic separatism align with Dugin's vision. Our conversation spans from the federal structure of the Russian Federation to Putin's methods of curbing regional autonomy and disciplining oligarchs. We also delve into the intricate dance between Eurasianism and Islamism, and how Dugin selectively aligns with certain Islamist factions. This discussion paints a comprehensive picture of the ideological and geopolitical strategies at play within Russia. Finally, we tackle broader geopolitical ideologies, juxtaposing right and left strands of Eurasianism with insights from thinkers like Zbigniew Brzezinski and John Mearsheimer. We navigate the complexities of U.S. foreign policy in the Middle East, the contentious "land back" movement, and the evolving nature of counter-systemic politics, including the rise of MAGA communism. Reflect with us on the future of the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA), and the critical need for a cohesive programmatic vision. This episode offers a treasure trove of insights into Dugin's political theories and their far-reaching implications on global geopolitics. Don't miss this thought-provoking conversation! Alexander Dugin is a Russian political philosopher who may or may not have President Vladimir Putin's ear. A longtime advocate for invading Ukraine, Dugin's book 'The Fourth Political Theory' (2009) offers a Heideggerian framework for developing an alternative political theory to liberalism, one in which American global hegemony will be undermined, Dasein will become the historical subject, multilateralism will allow Russia an expanded sphere of influence and we will avoid the inevitable fate of liberals - becoming cyborgs (this is not a metaphor).Patreon: www.patreon.com/TheBookClubfromHellJoin our Discord (the best place to interact with us): discord.gg/ZMtDJ9HscrWatch us on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC0n7r1ZTpsUw5exoYxb4aKA/featuredTwitter: @bookclubhell666

James Cameron's "Terminator" film series combines the best of Hollywood while remaining unburdened by its convention and cliche. In “Terminator” (1984), Cameron casts an apparently reluctant Arnold Schwarzenegger into the role of T800. From the opening shots of a nude, physically unfamiliar, almost biblical figure surveying Los Angeles, to the slow, complex, yet satisfying buildup of drama/plot machinations, the first Terminator is an example of novelty and craftsmanship in genre film, while “Terminator 2: Judgment Day” takes it all a step further through deeper explorations of character. In ArtiFact #32, Alex Sheremet, Ethan Pinch, and Jessica Schneider compare the two films as they try to imagine seeing them for the first time. Questions discussed include: how does Arnold Schwarzenegger, as actor, add to the films without much acting? How does his character (even if programmed) change? Are human beings becoming more efficient thinkers and killers to compete against Skynet? Are narrative arcs “enough” to make a good film? On this edition of Parallax Views, Ramon Glazov, translator of Girgio De Maria's The Transgressionists and Other Disquieting Works and author of assorted pieces found in such publications as Jacobin and Overland, joins us to discuss the Russian far-right philosopher Alexander Dugin. Dugin has been in the news due to his daughter's death in a fiery car explosion. This episode will not deal so much with that current events incident, but rather the question of Dugin's significance to the regime of Vladimir Putin. In both mainstream and alternative/independent media Dugin has often been described as "Putin's Brain" or "Putin's Rasputin". Ramon believes the evidence for Dugin's significance to Putin and the Russian state has been vastly overstated in a way that has negative consequences. We'll discuss Dugin's Foundations of Geopolitics, his "Fourth Political Theory", Dugin and postmodernism, Dugin's anti-China views, Dugin's more bizarre geopolitical proposals that are unlikely to be held by Putin or the Kremlin, elitism vs. populism on the right, the Traditionalist thinker Julius Evola, the modernist poet and rabid antisemite Ezra Pound, French far-right thinker Alain de Benoist, the political uselessness of Evolian occultism, Dugin's removal from the University of Moscow for genocidal comments directed at Ukraine/Ukrainians, the paradox of Dugin's self-professed "ethno-centrism, but not racism" views, Dugin's defensive identity politics, spiritual racism, fascism, Russian punk/counterculture icon Eduard Liminov and National Bolshevism, Dugin's views on Germany, Western journalism on Dugin and cherry-picking what Dugin says, Dugin's pluralist relativism, racist ideas about Russians as inherently relativist in their thinking, Dugin and the Kremlin, isolationism and the paradox of far-right wing "anti-globalism", far-right intellectuals and political opportunism, Dugin/Pound/Evola as political hanger-ons, Steve Bannon Vs. a figure Julius Evola or Alexander Dugin, Ezra Pound's WWII propaganda broadcasts in Mussolini's Italy, Ezra Pound's mental hospital stay, Dugin's strange views on Soviet Union serial killer Andrei Chikatilo, and much, much more!
Contents: Biography Career and political views Aleksandr Dugin Aleksandr Gelyevich Dugin (Russian: Александр Гельевич Дугин; born 7 January 1962) is a Russian political philosopher, analyst, and strategist, known for his fascist views. Born into a military family, Dugin was an anti-communist dissident during the 1980s. Following the dissolution of the Soviet Union, Dugin co-founded the National Bolshevik Party with Eduard Limonov, a party which espoused National Bolshevism, which he later left. In 1997, he published Foundations of Geopolitics where he outlined his worldview, calling for Russia to rebuild its influence through alliances and conquest, and to challenge the rival Atlanticist "empire" led by the United States. Dugin continued to further develop his ideology of neo-Eurasianism, founding the Eurasia Party in 2002 and writing further books including The Fourth Political Theory (2009). Dugin also served as an advisor to the State Duma speaker Gennadiy Seleznyov, and a leading member of the ruling United Russia party, Sergey Naryshkin. He was the head of the Department of Sociology of International Relations at Moscow State University from 2009 to 2014, losing the position due to backlash over comments regarding clashes in Ukraine. Dugin's influence within the Russian government and on Russian president Vladimir Putin is disputed, with Dugin sometimes being referred to as "Putin's brain", responsible for shaping Russian foreign policy, while others contend that Dugin's influence within the government is limited and has been greatly exaggerated, an impression given by correlations between his work and Russian foreign policy. On this edition of Parallax Views, a previously unreleased conversation from April 2022 with Kali Tribune's Branko Malic, who specializes in writing about metaphysics from a Catholic and traditionalist bent, about the Russian philosopher that's been called "Putin's Rasputin", Alexander Dugin. Aleksandr Dugin has been a figure that's gotten media coverage ever since the election of Donald Trump. He's one of the most ardent supporters of Putin's invasion of Ukraine. But who is Alexander Dugin? What are his beliefs? Is he a Gnostic? A follower of the Traditionalist School of metaphysics in the vein of Rene Guenon or Julius Evola? An occultist who practices a chaos magick? A mere Russian imperialist who promotes his worldview through what he calls the "Fourth Political Theory" and Eurasianism? A madman? A Satanist? A Russian Orthodox Catholic? Or simply a man who wants to "immanentize the eschaton" (aka the apocalypse)? Branko and I will tackle all of this and much more in the conversation.

Moving chronologically from the German school of thought we explore the history of personalities involved in the Russian National Bolshevik Party. The writings of Eduard Limonov are displayed, and an overview of the party provided. This transitions to Alexander (r) Dugin who is a pivotal individual to this discussion. Exploring Moscow's favorite pseudo intellectual nerd who should've spent more time learning to write
Aleksandr Dugin is a Russian professor and author who believes that modernity and liberalism are highly destructive. He developed an idea known as the Fourth Political Theory. Alexander Dugin (b. 1962) is one of the best-known writers and political commentators in post-Soviet Russia. During the 1980s, he was a principal member of the underground traditionalist movement in the Soviet Union, for which he was arrested by the KGB and expelled from his studies at the Moscow Aviation Institute in 1983. He continued to support his private studies in traditionalist philosophy by working as a street sweeper. He later became a journalist and made his earliest foray into politics by joining Pamyat, the first nationalist party to emerge during the twilight years of the USSR. He is hated (and sanctioned) by the Western establishment; his books are banned on Amazon; and mentioning his name triggers polarised discourse. I thoroughly enjoyed talking to Aleksandr and found myself agreeing with a lot of what he said. Ignore what the haters say and, instead, listen to our conversation in which he discusses modernity, liberalism, postmodernism, the West, tradition, and conservatism.
On this edition of Parallax Views, independent scholar Wahid Azal joins Parallax Views to discuss the ideology of Russia's Aleksandr Dugin, which he describes as steeped in imperialism and occultism. Dugin has become known in the West as "Putin's Brain", but lost his academic job at Moscow State University in 2014 after essentially calling for genocide against Ukrainians. He is known for advocating what he calls the "Fourth Political Theory" and for writing the book The Foundations of Geopolitics, which had influence in the Russian military. Wahid makes the case that while Dugin is marginal in Russia and Ukraine, his ideology has been boosted throughout Europe through oligarch funding and in the U.S. thanks to a number of factors including Dugin's Rasputin-esque image being perfectly fitted for sensational, attention-grabbing headlines and features. In this conversation we discuss the underpinnings of Dugin's thought including the idea of Atlantacism, the role of the apocalypse in Dugin's worldview, the influence of Heidegger on Dugin, Dugin's connection to Traditionalism and how the influence of Heidegger on him is not in line with Traditionalism (we also discuss what Tradtionalism is from Rene Guenon to Julius Evola and how Dugin's thinking could be described as Counter-Traditionalism), Dugin's current interest in the Russian Orthodox Church and his previous interest in chaos magick, the neo-nazi Satanist group The Order of Nine Angles, the death of Azal's wife and how he believes Duginists may have been involved in it, explaining the meaning of Dugin's quote "We will cure you with poison" and its connection to alchemy, and much, much more.

Its western proponents bill Dugin's Fourth Political Theory as a counter to globohomo but it's really just globohomo on steroids. When they prescribe what they describe as "multipolarity", they're really just calling for a more equitable global government where "the west" (i.e. white people) don't have such an outsized influence over "the international community." In response to Putin's invasion of Ukraine, Dugin recently published a piece calling for a new global financial system where government can base money on literally anything as long as it accounts for the "emissions" of each civilization state. He claims we won't risk inflation in implementing such a thing because the government will invest this money intelligently. ...sound like anything you've heard before? Meanwhile, Biden says white people are going to starve. I've got the latest! This is EPISODE 860 of So to Speak w/ Jared Howe!

Everywhere you look, self-appointed right-wing "thought leaders" are arguing in furtherance of Russian geopolitical objectives under the pretext that doing so will weaken America, thereby striking a blow at the heart of GloboHomo. The problem is that GloboHomo isn't a uniquely American phenomenon. Further, all sides of international conflict are always funded by the same people as a pretext to erase borders between nations and, more importantly, national banks. "Give me the power to issue a nation's currency and I care not who writes its laws." The global elite identify even more strongly with this statement when you substitute "nation" with "world." Dugin's "Fourth Political Theory" is proposed as an alternative to GloboHomo, but it's really just a rebranding of Marxist globalism where there are multiple, parallel seats of political power in a plurality of countries (a "multi-polar order") instead of a "uni-polar order" where only one country is the seat of global political power. He characterizes it as an inevitable reaction to the triumph of "liberalism" over "fascism" and "communism" -- as though world wars were fought between ideologies rather than countries. In reality, his theories are really just political Three-card Monte on a global scale that, if implemented, would make it even more difficult to determine who is pulling the strings from behind the curtain. At the end of the day, there's only about a c-hair's worth of breathing room between "multi-polar" Fourth Positionism, neoconservatism, and "woke" racial Marxism. Any conflict between them is staged, fake, and gay. Ukraine, for example, is most likely just a pretext to bring Marxists, Neocons, and Fourth Positionists to the table to negotiate the terms of erasing the borders between Europe and Asia. We are being given a false choice between three paths that all go to the same place. This is EPISODE 828 of So to Speak w/ Jared Howe!

My Presentation at 1st International online conference on Fourth Political Theory: Global Perspectives, New Challenges, Epistemological Problems 1 August 2020In my view, the Fourth Political Theory is an elegant articulation of a universal truth. When I first came across this Theory, I was amazed at how it fit perfectly with the work that a small group of us have been doing in the Caribbean for decades.I come from a local intellectual tradition called the New World Group, which was formed from the time we were becoming independent in the 1960s, and some of us resisted the Cold War between American liberal capitalism and Soviet Communism.I want to share our insights so that we can collaborate.Let's start with the Caribbean's place in MOdernity. The Caribbean was the birthplace of Western Imperialism and the Modern World, even before many places in Europe. This is where Columbus came and his voyages were.Whole societies were created out of pure economic interests, vulgar and brutal materialism. We were foundational to the internationalisation of production, finance, distribution and trade chains and extreme inequality. All our production was exported, all of our necessities were imported, we produced nothing for our own use. We created vast proto-industrial plantations based on imported cheap (slave) labour. The predated industrialial capitalism in Europe. We represent the dark side of modernity. We have also been engaged in a long struggle against it.Both in the form of trying to create autonomous societies that try to free themselves of imperialism, and also in the form of providing some of the most cogent critiques of that imperialism, including the hypocrisy of its chief ideology, Liberalism. My presentation provides four main insights. The full conference can be found here: http://paideuma.tv/en/announce/1st-international-online-conference-fourth-political-theoryhttp://4pt.su/en
If someone told you their goal was to erase the borders between every nation on the European and Asian continents, would you believe they were a nationalist? What if they defame everyone opposed to the idea as racists and xenophobes? THEN would you believe they were a nationalist? What if they told you that white people are the ultimate manifestation of evil and that we are totally beyond redemption? THEN would you believe they were a nationalist? What if they openly prescribed the total miscegenation and abolition of the white race? THEN would you believe they were a nationalist? It might SOUND like something a purple-haired gender studies major might do, but these are in fact the policy prescriptions of one Aleksandr Dugin, author of the "Fourth Political Theory" -- a work which is widely disseminated and promoted by the Alt Right. "Wait a second", you're thinking. "Isn't the Alt Right pro-white and pro-border?" Interesting question. I myself am having a hard time finding an explanation for why an anti-white, anti-racist, anti-west, anti-border Bolshevik is so widely circulated by people who claim to oppose the obvious Bolshevism he espouses. Is it possible that such people would lie about their ENTIRE worldview to achieve the goal of a more "open and inclusive society"? Well, the Frankists did it. The Sabbateans did it. The Neocons did it. History is LITTERED with subversive campaigns to derail and reorient ethnocentrism and nationalism toward explicitly communist and globalist ends. Why couldn't one exist today? It would be more surprising if one DIDN'T exist than if one did, and so we're going to explore the question in further detail in this second part of an ongoing series about Aleksandr Dugin and the Alt Right. This is EPISODE 491 of So to Speak w/ Jared Howe!
Listen to the FULL INTERVIEW here: https://newbooksnetwork.com/aleksandr-dugin-political-platonism-the-philosophy-of-politics-arktos-2019/The Nexus Institute in 2019 celebrated its 25th Anniversary with a celebrated and highly anticipated debate on stage between Bernard-Henri Lévy and Aleksandr Dugin, advertised as defenders of the Enlightenment and counter-Enlightenment.Dugin explains his disappointment with Lévy, and I fully concur. It was political posturing of the most trite and unfair kind, rather than a substantive, insight-generating debate. It was drenched Western arrogance, posing as so-called “liberal values”.Aleksandr Gelyevich Dugin is a philosopher, former Professor and Advisor to the Kremlin, and one of the best-known writers and political commentators in post-Soviet Russia. Aleksandr Dugin’s Political Platonism: The Philosophy of Politics (Arktos, 2019) offers a seminal analysis of the contemporary philosophical crisis from one of the best-known writers and political commentators in post-Soviet Russia. Through a series of essays, course transcripts, and a single long interview—each remarkable for the depth of its learning and the boldness of its vision—Dugin exposes the profoundest roots of the Western philosophical tradition, centered around the thought of Plato, offering a Platonic view of why it has reached its final terminus, and his indication of where a new beginning must be sought. The works collected in this volume present Dugin’s theory of Political Platonism as a fundamental philosophical and political orientation, capable at once of reviving higher political and social forms and furnishing solid ground for resistance to the collapse of the contemporary world. His multi-perspective thesis offers a thorough and thought-provoking critique of modernity and a masterful survey of Western philosophy, reaching from before Heraclitus to beyond Heidegger. In its provocative, clear-sighted analyses and its visionary flights, this book provides an invaluable reference for those already familiar with Dugin, and an intriguing introduction for those coming to him for the first time. In this episode, I look at Russian philosopher and geopolitical strategist Alexander Dugin's vision of a new political order to replace both liberalism and its natural culmination, post-liberalism. I mention the need to differentiate a specifically American version of the fourth political theory, moving toward a position of pragmatic eclecticism that can absorb some of the disjointed remnants of liberalism that infuse our Constitution and society.More at www.neofusionist.com

In this episode Matt and Tom discuss everything you probably NEVER wanted to know about Alexander Dugin. But who is Dugin and what does he want? Wikipedia says simply "[he] is a Russian political analyst and strategist known for his fascist views." High commendation, indeed. But Dugin and his concept of Eurasianism is far too complicated for us in general. However, Tom could write a book about this subject... and he probably will, so this ought to be interesting. In the latest installment of our ongoing reading series "In the Enemy Camp" we look at excerpts from "The Fourth Political Theory" by famous Russian far right theorist Aleksandr Dugin.
Jay returns to Our Interesting Times to discuss his recent lectures analyzing Carroll Quigley's The Anglo-American Establishment, Miles Copeland's Game of Nations, and the writings of the Russian Professor Alexander Dugin and his Fourth Political Theory. Jay Dyer is the host of Jay's Analysis , the co-host of Hollywood Decoded, and the author of Esoteric Hollywood: Sex, Cults and Symbols in Film.
The writings of Professor Alexander Dugin are scandalous and controversial according to the establishment, yet what about the works of Brzezinski, which are explicitly “imperialist” and liberal? In this talk we will cover Prof. Dugin’s Fourth Political Theory book, while later we will cover his books on Putin and Contemporary Russian Geopolitics. Contrary to detractors and liars who made up nonsense because I dared to interview Prof. Dugin, I cite and explain my areas of agreement and disagreement with Professor Dugin in the full talk for subscribers at JaysAnalysis. Subscribe below.
Prof. Alexander Dugin is an author and former advisor to Vladimir Putin. He was gracious enough to speak with me in this in-depth philosophical discussion that covers a wide range of topics, including: The origins of modern liberalism in the Enlightenment era, the problems of atomistic individualism, the anti-metaphysical stance of Anglo-saxon and Scottish empiricists, how this philosophy was mirrored in the Calvinist reformers, and the desacralization of Nature in the West. From there, we discuss the ‘quantification’ of reality that resulted from that period’s mechanistic view of the kosmos and how this led to the techno-fetishism of our day and transhumanism, resulting in the attempt of destroying all collective groupings and ontological categories, including family, gender, etc. Professor Dugin explains the Fourth Political Theory and the importance of Heidegger and the European logos, as well as how evil can have its own inner ‘logic’ as we see “pure Satanism” manifested in the West.
