The International Six Days Enduro race is considered the Olympics of dirt biking, and Jeff has completed 33 of them with 11 gold medals, 20 silvers and two bronze. It was his 34th and last year that he was not able to complete it, and being too old was not the reason. So how does this AMA Hall of Famer compete at this top level for decades, setting a record that will most likely never be matched? And after a feat like this, does he slow down? No, he's still racing at 68 in, of all things, ice racing. Jeff joins us to share his stories, his wins, his challenges and to talk about the KDX 200 that was such a big part of his career. In this episode, I sat down with the insightful Jenn Fredette to delve into the transformative power of storytelling in marketing for therapy practices. Listen to this episode to discover how storytelling resonates with clients far more than the usual credential-heavy marketing approach. Learn why authenticity, vulnerability, and relatability are not just therapeutic tools but also key marketing strategies. And understand the significance of individualizing content creation and marketing efforts to align with the unique narrative of each therapist's practice. Key Takeaways: Leverage Your Narrative: Your own story and the stories of your clients can pave the way for genuine connections. It's about showing up as who you are, not just as a list of qualifications. Embrace Authentic Marketing: In a field that often overlooks business acumen, it's crucial to market your practice with integrity. It's not just what you offer; it's how you convey the transformational journey. Expand Creatively: Break the mold by casting a "taller net" with your marketing. Tell the story of who you can reach, not just who you can treat. About Jenn: Jenn Fredette is a full-time psychotherapist who moonlights as a marketing consultant. She spends as much time reading psychoanalytic case studies as Seth Godin books. Through her work at A Thinker's Guide, she's guided 400+ therapists through her proprietary method, The Attunement Compass, teaching them how to market with depth and efficacy. "Boom Boom Boom Bingo" Scruffy The Cat dominated the College Rock scene of the late '80s with a run of fabulous albums like Tiny Days and Moons of Jupiter, plus two stellar EPs High Octane Revival and Boom Boom Boom Bingo. If you don't have these four releases-get them. They're the most perfect blasts of rootsy indie pop you'll ever hear. The six member Boston outfit, which formed in '83 lasted just under a decade, breaking up in 1990. Over the course of their career they went Top 5 on the CMJ College Radio Charts, were played on MTV's 120 minutes, were critically lauded by pretty much everyone, including the Village Voice and The Chicago Tribune, cracked the Billboard Top 200 and toured with Los Lobos, The Replacements and Yo La Tengo. The six member Scruffy personnel consisted of Charlie Chesterman, Stephen Fredette, MacPaul Stanfield, Randall Lee Gibson IV, Stona Fitch and Burns Stanfield. Omnivore put out two great anthologies that celebrate the band's legacy and as far as alums go, Scruffy is down two men with the deaths of Chesterman and Gibson, but the music remains and it sounds as fresh as ever. As for Stephen Fredette, he's a marvelous and accomplished artist who did all the Scruffy covers, and he just had his first gallery show in the Boston area. And he's been working on some songs.... www.scruffythecat.com (http://www.scruffythecat.com) www.stereoembersmagazine.com (http://www.stereoembersmagazine.com) www.bombshellradio.com www.alexgreenbooks.com Stereo Embers Twitter: @emberseditor IG: @emberspodcast Email: editor@stereoembersmagazine.com (mailto:editor@stereoembersmagazine.com)

Sermons from First Parish Unitarian Universalist of Arlington Massachusetts
Sunday Sermon given October 1, 2023 Prayer by Elizabether Hunter, Worship Associate https://firstparish.info/ First Parish A liberal religious community, welcoming to all First gathered 1739 About the Sermon: Most religious philosophies encourage us to seek the spiritual path by befriending fear. It's a choice that runs counter to some of our deepest instincts, and yet, if we can accept that we are not in control and also recognize that no one is alone, then perhaps, we can open our hearts to live more compassionately and courageously. About Rev. Marc Fredette: A native of New England Marc attended Humboldt State University and the University of California at Santa Barbara, CA before returning New England in 1988. Prior to pursuing ministry Marc worked for many years as a computer programmer, training consultant, and software manager in southern New Hampshire. He earned his degree from Harvard Divinity School in 2004, and served our congregations in Fayetteville, AK, and here in Waltham before retiring from parish ministry in 2021. Marc served as our sabbatical minister last winter and thoroughly enjoyed his time with the congregation so much so that he began attending regularly earlier this year. Marc's personal passions include gardening, working with wood, a love of singing, dismantling racism and nurturing community in all walks of life. Offering and Giving First For the month of October, half of the offering supports the work of the Arlington Youth Counseling Center (AYCC), a welcoming and inclusive community-based mental health center and the leading provider of outpatient and school-based mental health services for Arlington youth and their families. In this episode, we're going to explore the relationship between your website copy, website design, and you. What do you think is more important… the words on your website or the design of your website? So often we agonize over the words that go on each web page; writing, editing, and revising. Then we take that content and try to work it into our website in a way we think “looks good”. But what is your website design actually saying? Like non-verbal communication during a therapy session, design can often communicate many things beyond what the copy on the page is saying. So how we can marry these two things together - copy and design - so that we're captivating our ideal clients and leading them toward finding a solution to their pain? And how can we approach our marketing authentically so that it resonates with both your clients and the brand you want to create for your private practice? Today's guest, Jenn Fredette, is helping us dive deep into these questions and the relationship between copy and design. Jenn is a relational, psychodynamic oriented, attachment-based loving, Jungian concept adoring, and existential thinking psychotherapist based in the DC Metro area. In addition to her clinical work, Jenn partners with psychotherapists who want to market with depth, not just offer quick solutions to get people in the door. In this conversation, you may not know who's interviewing who, because we ask so many questions as we explore this topic in detail. So get ready to think deeply about your marketing, your copywriting, your website design… and what it all means to you. In This Episode, You'll Learn: Why it's so important to enter into your ideal client's story so that you can empathize with them and create truly captivating and compelling content How to use storytelling to really paint a picture of how you want potential clients to feel when they visit your website How copy and design work together to communicate your message and evoke feeling How we can often carry our past experiences and pain into our marketing which hinders our authentic message Start Your Website Project with a Free 15-Minute Clarity Call We're extremely passionate about helping therapists and group practices launch websites with both the words and design that resonate with their ideal clients.
