D.O. or Do Not: The Osteopathic Physician's Journey for Premed & Medical Students
The D.O. philosophy fits perfectly with primary care specialties such as family practice, internal medicine, pediatrics and OB/GYN. Can a D.O. go into competitive specialties such as Neurosurgery? YES THEY CAN!This week, we're joined by Dr. Xavier P. J. Gaudin, a renowned neurosurgeon known for his expertise in spinal surgeries, endovascular interventions, and deep brain stimulation. His innovative techniques and dedication to patient care have made a significant impact in neurosurgery. Dr. Gaudin will share his path into neurosurgery, the challenges of residency, and strategies for success. He'll also discuss his practice in New York, the hurdles of securing a position in a major city, and his approach to work-life balance. Finally, he will offer advice for aspiring neurosurgeons and insights into how the field is evolving.
Let‘s Clear the Air! All Things Allergy, Asthma & Immunology!
Host Liz Edwards introduces listeners to Dr. Ben Gaudin with our Louisiana offices! Dr. Gaudin comes from a family of LSU Tigers. He, his father, and all his siblings are LSU alumni. While they pursued careers in engineering, Dr. Gaudin chose the medical field, but he still finds many similarities between the two disciplines. Learn what attracted Dr. Gaudin to the field of allergy specifically, why the specialty has always taken a view of involving the patient in making any medical decisions, and why he believes allergists can make a big impact on the quality of people's lives. We also get some insight into Dr. Gaudin's love of reading, theater/musicals, and "old school" puzzle solving in the daily newspaper.

Skupaj s članicami in člani Kinotripovega filmskega kluba so namreč pripravili enkratno projekcijo "mladostno odštekanih, družbeno-kritično nabritih in slogovno raznolikih osmih filmov", namenjeno starejšim od petnajst let.
A step towards increasing the availability of CBD products. CBD is a compound found in marijuana but has little to no psychoactive effects. Medsafe has reclassified CBD from prescription only to a restricted medicine, meaning low-dose CBD medicines can be sold by pharmacists. But Pharmacy Guild Chief Executive Andrew Gaudin told Mike Hosking that there are currently no low-dose products approved here. He says this is the encouragement to manufacturers to start the process of developing products, which they'll then have to demonstrate the benefits of to get them approved. In this episode of the Epigenetics Podcast, we caught up with Luca Giorgetti from the Friedrich Miescher Institute to hear about his work on long-range transcriptional control by 3D chromosome structure. Luca Giorgetti's research focuses on chromosomal interactions, transcriptional output, and the dynamics of enhancer-promoter relationships. His lab investigated the causal relationship between chromosome interactions and transcriptional events. They've found that by manipulating the contact probabilities between an enhancer and a promoter by changing their distance, these changes had a substantial effect on transcription levels. This project was an experiment that Luca Giorgetti was eager to do, and it allowed him to establish a smooth functional relationship between contact probabilities and changes in transcription levels. Bảo Châu NgôCollège de FranceFormes automorphes (chaire internationale)Année 2022-2023Théorie géométrique des représentationsSéminaire - Philip Boalch : First Steps in Global Lie Theory: wild Riemann surfaces, their character varieties and topological symplectic structuresRésuméI'll describe some of the story leading up to the construction of the topological symplectic structures (P.B. Oxford thesis 1999, Adv. Math. 2001) and subsequent evolution leading to the general, purely algebraic approach (B. 2002, 2009, 2014, B.-Yamakawa 2015). They generalise the holomorphic version of the symplectic structures of Narasimhan, Atiyah- Bott, Goldman involving the topological fundamental group. Our approach gives a TQFT approach to moduli of meromorphic connections on curves, involving Lie group valued moment maps. The right point of view seems to be to generalise the notion of Riemann surface to the notion of wild Riemann surface, in the spirit of Weil's 1957 Bourbaki talk, and view these symplectic varieties as their character varieties (in the spirit of Weil's 1948 text "Sur les courbes algébriques et les variétés qui s'en déduisent"). The simplest irregular example (involving the wild fundamental group) underlies the Drinfeld- Jimbo quantum group (and deformations of the underlying wild Riemann surface explain the natural G-braid group action of Lusztig). Classification of these varieties, as "global analogues of Lie groups", is still at a quite elementary stage, but a rich theory of Dynkin diagrams exists for many examples. If time permits I'll describe how these two-forms fit together with the Bottacin-Markman Poisson structure on the meromorphic Higgs bundle moduli spaces to give the wild nonabelian Hodge hyperkahler manifolds (Biquard-B. 2004). Surprisingly these hyperkahler metrics are often complete even though the corresponding harmonic maps have infinite energy. The simplest examples, certain hyperkahler four- manifolds, are the "spaces of initial conditions" of the Painlevé equations. Painlevé knew his equations were deformations of equations for elliptic functions, and so we can now see this "Painlevé simplification" as a hyperkahler rotation, from meromorphic connections to meromorphic Higgs bundles. Not only does this story encompass many famous classical integrable systems like the Lagrange top (2 poles of order 2), and those studied by Mumford (in Tata lectures on Theta II), but several of these Painlevé integrable systems were used in Seiberg-Witten's 1994 solution of 4d N=2 super Yang-Mills theory for SU(2), and one of the higher rank generalizations, introduced by Garnier in 1919 (the simplified Schlesinger system), underlies the famous Gaudin model. It was solved by Garnier in terms of abelian functions by defining spectral curves, a method rediscovered in the soliton literature in the 1970s (see e.g. Adler-Van Moerbeke 1980, Linearization of Hamiltonian systems, Jacobi varieties and representation theory, p.337, or Verdier's 1980 Séminaire Bourbaki), before being generalised by Hitchin to the case where the base curve has genus >1.Philip BoalchPhilip Boalch1991-1997: Cambridge University (B.A, Part 3, start of PhD at DPMMS)1993: summer employment drawing optical solitons (GEC Hirst research lab.)1997-1999: Oxford University, D.Phil (N. Leaving your home town to experience new life lessons can, for some, be a growing time and bring yourself to the realization of what you truly want to do in life. This week on The Patty-G Show, we sat down with Kay Gaudin of Pro Limo to hear about her journey from beach bum to a transportation expert right here in Baton Rouge. Growing up in a family business environment Kay knew she wanted to be in the hospitality business, but not on the side in which her family specialized in, funeral homes. Going to work for Sandestin out of college she quickly worked her way up to managing over 100 units. During this time she gained invaluable experience within customer service and being the best coordinator between guest and owner she could be. Translating that knowledge and expertise to the family business, she knew when it was time to return and take over the transportation side of the business. Fast forward to today, she is a hard working business owner that is focusing on maintain a steady level of business while balancing home life. She is truly an inspiration to all! On this episode, Sabine VdL interviews Sebastien Gaudin, co-founder and CEO of CareVoice, an embedded HealthTech InsurTech platform that has gown fast to become a leader in their category across Asia through their platform the CareVoiceOS open platform which delivers a modern insurance infrastructure solution to connect and manage multiple health services providers to shape bespoke health engagement journey for micro-customer segments. Sebastien's mission is to reinvent the healthcare and insurance spaces. Merging the two to deliver tailored experiences for users and payers. Sabine and Sebastien talk about the recent category paper they wrote ‘Embedded Health: The next growth frontier for insurance', discussing why embedded health is such an important topic for the health and insurance markets today? What are the winning business models we have seen emerge in recent years? What are the top capabilities needed to build a digital health ecosystem? KEY TAKEAWAYS I value patient-centred care, looking at the patient from a board perspective with multiple stakeholders. From my experience working in China's digital ecosystem, customer-centred, service-oriented approaches are everywhere and you can create more value and relevance if you aggregate services for people. We opened new distribution channels, new ways for insurers to commercialise products. All our experiences have led us to the category of embedded health. It's about being able to provide targeted customers a range of relevant digital healthcare services together with insurance in one single integrated customer experience. Insurers are really making the move to embed health services with their insurance offering and then prevent or influence positively what may happen before a claim. Think about health players who can embed insurance and likely complimentary health insurance services to bring more value and protection to their customers but also all at once with a monetisation interest model for what they offer as a service. Lastly, noon-insurance, non-health players can also think about embedding health and insurance services as complimentary product offerings and revenues. We've been looking at how embedded health can really help to acquire customers. We see micro-insurance in the health space could be interesting because you start to see a number of players embedding micro-insurance and this gives new customers access to insurance that they couldn't access before. BEST MOMENTS ‘Working with insurers, we helped them to go beyond being a passive payer of claims and take a more proactive role, helping their customers navigate and find the right medical services at the right time.' ‘With a digital customer journey you can support the individual along the way with easy access to treatments and healthcare professionals.' ‘The opportunities that have opened up with this wealth of technologies that can impact people's health. It's true that digital natives are more suited to embrace this and most of the incumbents have been struggling because of their lack of digital capabilities.' ‘The past two years have seen a solid acceleration. It's still difficult to see which model will win, we may have new models emerging, it's likely there will be multiple winners within different sub-categories. This year, researchers found that the last 22 years were the driest consecutive years in the North American southwest in over a millennium. The pace and scale of climate change is forcing states and counties to adapt rapidly. In California, one of the industries at the forefront of the adaptation predicament is agriculture. In today's episode, reporter Elena Neale-Sacks speaks with resilience researcher Amélie Gaudin, Sacramento Valley farmer Scott Park, and water policy research fellow Caity Peterson to understand how farmers and growers are, and aren't, building resilience to drought.

Pharmacists say they're not out to rip people off when it comes to Rapid Antigen Tests. A Consumer New Zealand survey found the price varies from $6.40 to $19 dollars a test. In Australia, it's illegal to sell them for more than a 20 percent mark-up. Pharmacy Guild chief executive, Andrew Gaudin, told Mike Hosking competition laws mean it's up to independent retailers where they set their price point. “We'd expect in this market, being a public good that most will set a fair and reasonable price and we think that the monitoring that's being done is a good thing.” People with symptoms or household contacts can also access free tests at testing stations or, from today, on the Ministry of Health RAT requester website.
Who knew you could buy a bank? We often times see something like buying a bank as so far out of reach, why even try. However, with the right training and background, in conjunction with an amazing team, it is possible. Our guest this week is none other than Scott Gaudin of Axxess Partners. Scott has a long list of accomplishments and experience that makes him a valuable asset to any and all people. Scott was everything from the equipment manager for the LSU Football team, to now in the process of acquiring a bank. During our time together we spoke much about the importance of the process and making sure you've got a plan in place to execute. Not only that, but we also took a deep dive into how entrepreneurs are able to separate themselves from the rest of the pack to truly make a difference.

What is the law? How can we interpret the law? Is there a way for us lay people to better understand and communicate what we need outside of our attorney? This week on The Patty-G Show, we brought on Todd Gaudin of On Point Legal Services, LLC to discuss just that. On Point Legal specializes in adoptions, estate planning, and successions. We discuss the journey of starting a law practice, what made him decide to branch on his own, and what drives Todd to help each and every family he does. In addition to the legal work within the firm, they are also developing an online course that would provide the ability to anyone in need of a succession to work through the documents on their own without the expensive fees of going through a big law firm. On Point Legal strives to ensure that each and every client they work with walks out the door of their office with peace of mind knowing they are being well taken care of. If you haven't already, we would greatly appreciate you subscribing to the podcast, following us on social media, and helping spread the word about what makes Baton Rouge such a great place!
