On Thursday March 20th, 2014 the Hermetic Hour with host Poke Runyon will present a discussion on the 19th Path of the Qabalistic Tree of Life called "Strength." This path laterally connects the Spheres of Geburah, on the Pillar of Severity, with Chesed on the Pillar of Mercy. The Path is attributed to the letter Teth, the Serpent, and the astrological sign of Leo. The Tarot Trump shows a woman gently closing the mouth of a lion. This is a "Key" Path on the Lightning Flash which defines our extended "Middle Pillar" yoga system. Gareth Knight suggests that it represents the initiatory journey of an Adeptus Major (6=5) to Adeptus Exemptus (7=4). Crowley's version of the card was called "Lust" and had the woman riding the beast -- this at least symbolizes one aspect of this path, that of conquering the beast within. The lion symbolism is also astrological and alchemical. The Heart of the Lion being the marker star Regulus in the Golden Dawn siderial system. This also relates to the Labors of Hercules. This is an important Path and the last one before Da'ath on the Short Path -- so if you want to get ready to make the big jump across the Abyss, tune in and come with us.

On Thursday October 15th, 2015 the Hermetic Hour with host Poke Runyon will present another discussion in our on-going series on the Spheres or Sephiroth of the Tree of Life. Sphere number five Geburah, the Sphere of Mars. We will cover different concepts and attributes of this sphere. It is traditionally ruled by Samael, the Hebrew counterpart of Satan, but the G.D. changed the angelic attribution to Kamael, connoting a less evil character to Geburah --or making it a "necessary evil" if you will. This is reflected in the planetary spirits. The intelligence of Mars is protective whereas the spirit is aggressive. We place the Canaanite War-Goddess Anath in Geburah. Again we will refer to our texts Dion Fortune, Gareth Knight, John Greer and our Hermetic Yoga. On Thursday March 20th, 2014 the Hermetic Hour with host Poke Runyon will present a discussion on the 19th Path of the Qabalistic Tree of Life called "Strength." This path laterally connects the Spheres of Geburah, on the Pillar of Severity, with Chesed on the Pillar of Mercy. The Path is attributed to the letter Teth, the Serpent, and the astrological sign of Leo. The Tarot Trump shows a woman gently closing the mouth of a lion. This is a "Key" Path on the Lightning Flash which defines our extended "Middle Pillar" yoga system. Gareth Knight suggests that it represents the initiatory journey of an Adeptus Major (6=5) to Adeptus Exemptus (7=4). Crowley's version of the card was called "Lust" and had the woman riding the beast -- this at least symbolizes one aspect of this path, that of conquering the beast within. The lion symbolism is also astrological and alchemical. The Heart of the Lion being the marker star Regulus in the Golden Dawn siderial system. This also relates to the Labors of Hercules. This is an important Path and the last one before Da'ath on the Short Path -- so if you want to get ready to make the big jump across the Abyss, tune in and come with us.

The Path is attributed to the astrological sign Libra, the Scales of Balance, the Tarot Trump "Justice," and the Hebrew and Phoenician letters "Lamed," both representing the Ox Goad -- which has a remarkable symbolism relating to a Biblical-Canaanite mystery we will reveal for the first time. This Path also ends up at the narrow bridge leading to the Castle on the Edge of the Abyss (Geburah). Again we refer to John Michael Greer's "Paths of Wisdom" and Gareth Knight's "Practical Guide to Qabalistic Symbolism." Now, if you want to meet Osiris in the Great Hall of Judgement, remember, like Santa Claus, he has a list of who's been naughty and who's been nice -- so be good for goodness sake!

The union of man and woman is a sacred bond, the most ancient and holy religious sacrament. Matrimony is "the state or condition from which the Divine Mother can act." Lecture quote: "Like all of the sacraments, the sacrament of matrimony is sacred (these two words - sacrament, sacred - come from a common source). This is why in all of the ancient religions and mystical traditions of humanity, matrimony or marriage has always been considered a religious act, a sacred act. That is why marriage has always been in the domain of the priesthood, not the government, until recent times, when marriage has become more of an economic factor. When we talk about the sacraments, what we are really discussing are sacred initiations or levels of instruction that the soul passes through. These sacraments have been instituted by the Gnostic Church, which has its primary domain in the realm of Daath (Hebrew for knowledge, which is that realm where the Father/Mother unite in order to create; this is the level of the Yab/Yum, the Father/Mother, the Elohim. From their sacred union, all creation is realized. The sacrament or sacred act of matrimony is a reflection of the union between the Divine Father and the Divine Mother, Shiva/Shakti, Abba and Aima. That union in the sphere of Daath is an act of sacrifice; it is an act of love. The sphere of Daath is synonymous with love. It is here where God and Goddess unite because of their profound love; the very substance of that union is love, and its result is love. The child, the son, Osiris, or Christ, is the very embodiment of the love of Father/Mother, Yab/Yum; so that son, that love, is Christ the Savior, the sacred force of pure, cognizant Bodhichitta, love. This is a form of love that is beyond the seven spheres below Daath. It is beyond the spirit (Chesed), the consciousness (Geburah), the will (Tiphereth), the mind (Netzach), the emotion (Hod), beyond energy (Yesod), beyond anything physical (Malkuth). This is a form of love that is incomprehensible to our mind, but is knowable through our heart. This is why the sacrament of matrimony is so sacred." Read the lecture transcription.

Kabbalah explains how the angel Samael works through the sephirah Geburah to fufill the will of God. "Jahavah Elohim said to Samael: “Since it is so, give me advice. (Jehovah Elohim asked Samael for advice) on what I should do, so that the children of Jacob would accept it, as you say.” "Samael said to Jehovah Elohim: “Master of the universe, there is a need to bribe them. Take light from the light of the legions in heaven and impart it to them. By this, they will accept her (the Torah) and here is some OF MY LIGHT, which I will give first.
