The new music show for May 2024 explores the vast spectrum of metal, uniting classic thrash figures and modern innovators. It starts with Kerry King's "Rage," featuring Paul Bostaph and Mark Osegueda, reigniting the fervour of 1980s California thrash. NOCTURNUS AD follows with "Hod, The Stellar Light," a pinnacle of progressive occult metal from their album Unicursal. EXODUS revisits their legendary 1989 live show with "Fabulous Disaster," recorded at The Astoria in London, celebrating a key moment in thrash history. The show also includes APOCALYPTICA's symphonic take on Metallica's "One" with James Hetfield and Six Feet Under return. The episode features a variety of styles, from the gritty urban trad-metal of RIOT V's "Mean Streets" to the nostalgic rock of Lucifer's cover "I Would Follow You Babe," with heavier sounds from Daath's "Ascension." Gnarly underground stuff from Earsplit PR is a feature, and other highlights include technical displays from bands like CROWNSHIFT and Cognitive, concluding with the dynamism of MY DYING BRIDE and Melbourne's The Omnific. We had such a good time with last week's episode that we had to go back to the fridge for a second helping of terrible fucking metal covers. This time around we're talking about Daath releasing a cover of Where the Slime Live that is absolutely identical to the original, Inter Arma trying and failing to make a statement with Neil Young's Southern Man, Rob & Kirk of Metallica digging up Prince's corpse and pissing on it, Puddle of Mudd's Abbout a Girl, MTV Icons: Metallica edish, Fred Durst baring his hole with Behind Blue Eyes, Mudvayne going tantric with Sting, Five Finger Death Punch doing a straight up satanic cover of The Offspring, Sinatra gone metal, a pair of dogshit We Didn't Start the Fire covers, Most Precious Blood struggggggling through Sweet Child O' Mine, and a ton of other utterly baffling songs. Folks....... it's a good one. Like this show? Want more? Listen to our latest subscriber-exclusive episode: Fantasy Labelball – Season of Piss Edition over at the Toilet ov Hell Patreon. Join Eyal and I as we talk about the new intensive course that he and his team dropped with Jens Bogren and Ihsahn covering the entire process of how Jens record. We talk about the "small" 3 hours worth of content I was able to see, how even in that there was SO MUCH to learn about how songs still come down to a feeling. Taking the time to hone your craft, and making these kinds of things accessible to others who want to learn how to become a producer. Eyal and I discuss if there's every been a consideration into expanding into other genres of music, the process it takes to land all of these guests/bands/songs, as well as becoming an ancillary avenue for people to find out about new bands. Eyal shares the balance of showcasing new and up coming bands and established ones that will keep people interested. We also touch on the gatekeeping way of metal fans, how that's found it's way at times into the nail the mix crowd with some of the bands they've featured. If there are any bucket list bands he'd love to feature in the future and much more in this chat. Sean Zatorsky of DAATH, Chimaira and a slew of other bands joins me for this wild chat as we talk about my favorite city in Atlanta, and how I love the melting pot of cultures there and how it comes out in the music of the area as well, and how it has informed him as a musician since living there over the last 20 years. We also get into some heavy topics, such as how American culture seemingly does away with any of it's past in favor of "new" and "better" while other countries seem to take pride in it's rich history, but maybe that too is a detriment to it's people as well. We go deep into talking about supernatural things, which lead us to talking about some real life shit that we were both dealing with, and how our relationship was really started over me reaching out to him after the passing of his close friend and bandmate Joey Jordison. DEEP CHAT, hopefully you all enjoy it. On Thursday April 3rd, 2014 the Hermetic Hour with host Poke Runyon will present a special program discussing the O.T.A.'s Pathworkings beyond the Sphere of Chesed. These Paths lead to the re-manifested Sphere of Da'ath, which in the Eleven Sphere Tree becomes Saturn, the beginning of the physical universe and the gateway to the Abyss. This concept and its practical applications are covered in "New Tarot Trumps for an Eleven Sphere Tree of Life" in THE SEVENTH RAY, Book III, "The Red Ray." We will also discuss the Golden Dawn's eleven sphere tree and the idea of the Tree before and after "The Fall." This is a Key lecture and lesson in our study program. So tune in and we will journey to Mot's Back-o'-Beyond.
