Laurah is recovering from Covid. Thanks for your patience! Back in 2000, one of the first viral “haunted” Ebay auctions listed an allegedly cursed painting titled The Hands Resist Him; it was alleged to spark all kinds of supernatural activity, which surprised exactly no one who'd gazed upon the spooky work. But was it actually plagued by any sort of ill-luck or tied to true ghostly activity? Remember the movie The Witches? There was a scene in that movie where the witches cursed a little girl to live in a painting for the rest of her life. She grew old, and moved positions in the painting until she disappeared completely. Well, despite Bob referring to Young Sherlock Holmes the week, this episode isn't about movies. No, in fact we are talking about haunted and cursed paintings. Figures that would move positions, curse the owner, or cause chaos around them. This episode we talk about the famous The Hands Resist Him, The Crying Boy, The Anguished Man, Love Letters' Replica, and more!

We're back boys & ghouls! In this new episode, it's a good old classic haunted house ghost story as Felicia investigates the Ammons haunting case aka the "200 Demons House." Infamous ghost hunter Zak Bagans even purchased the notorious Gary, Indiana house and filmed a documentary about the paranormal activity that occurred there. Meanwhile, Lauren combines her fear of creepy dolls with a cursed painting as she covers Bill Stoneham's "The Hands Resist Him." This '70s-era painting, depicting a young boy and a female doll standing in front of a glass paneled door, became an instant urban legend and internet meme when it was posted for sale on eBay along with an explanation that it was haunted. Welcome to another episode of Believing the Bizarre. Let me paint you a picture - this week, we discuss one of the most haunted paints of all time, The Hands Resist Him. Painted by Bill Stoneham in 1972, The Hands Resist Him was originally just intended to pay the bills and was inspired by a poem written by his first wife and a photograph he found of himself. However, the painting seems to negatively impact everyone it touches, including a few celebrities, and famously terrified the masses when it was listed on eBay in 2000. But, is the painting truly haunted? Listen now! Thanks to Darren O'Neill for allowing us to use "The Hands Resist Him." The Hands Resist Him is a painting that was created by artist Bill Stoneham in 1972. It depicts a young boy and a female doll standing in front of a glass paneled door, against which many hands are pressed. According to Stoneham, the boy is based on a photograph of himself at age five. Many who have looked upon this painting have experienced the paranormal after doing so. Tori leads off with the info of who bought the transaxle of Little Bastard and then actually tells the story of a haunted painting. Bill Stoneham's painting The Hands Resist Him came to be known as the most haunted painting on EBay. All of the paintings in this series all rock a very creepy vibe. ZB tried to get hold of this painting and failed but did commission Bill Stoneham to paint him another in the series. The Hands Invent Him has it's place in the Haunted Museum in Vegas now. Take our word on it, Google that shit. Krysti covers two of the ghost towns that are left in Indiana. Hindustan Falls is the first that she covers which is along the White River. This city was the victim of some sort of plague and the town was desolate by the 1950. Tremont is the next that she covers. This is in the Indiana Dunes State Park area up on the shores of Lake Michigan. This city has been replaced by a beach and a bathing pavilion. Ghost stories abound as we break into spooky season. The tale of the transparent toddler from the 1920s was a ghost story from brown county and then onto James Jenkins ghost story. Jenkins was one of Dillinger's boys and was one of friends from the inside that showed up to break Dillinger out of jail. Jenkins was apparently a bad dude and died badly as well. Tori wraps it up the Edna Collings Bridge in Putnam County and it's little girl ghost.
