The gun “buyback” the Liberals announced four years ago, which was supposed to be completed by 2022, has so far racked up $42 million in costs without even confiscating a single gun. Even so, the government is still committed to this approach, which is squarely aimed at registered and legally-owned firearms, and not those overwhelmingly used in gun crime. True North's Andrew Lawton says it's bad news for taxpayers, but good news for lawful gun owners. Also, a new study from the Fraser Institute shows that government spending and public sector employment are on the rise in almost all provinces – meaning government is getting bigger and bigger with no end in sight. Andrew unpacks the numbers with Jake Fuss, the Fraser Institute's fiscal studies director. Plus, city councillors in the British Columbia city of Quesnel have condemned the mayor's wife for, as a private citizen, distributing copies of the True North-published book “Grave Error,” a scholarly work pushing back at the mainstream narrative on residential schools. If you hit .300 in baseball                Hall Of Fame If you shot 50% basketball             You're an icon If you go 50-50 in drilling                You're Green River Gold The allure of Gold remains steadfast, with prices holding steady at $2,000. Simultaneously, the electric vehicle revolution is driving an unprecedented demand for battery metals, presenting an exciting opportunity. Green River Gold a small cap resources company distinguishes itself by offering investors the best of both worlds. With an impressive portfolio of projects in British Columbia, Green River Gold is poised for substantial growth: Quesnel Nickel/Magnesium/Talc Project  Fontaine Gold Project  KaLi Lithium Pegmatite Project   Kymar Silver Project Newly acquired… Midnight Special Prospect  These projects collectively position Green River Gold Corp. in some of British Columbia's most highly prospective mining districts Furthermore, the recent green light for the Cariboo Gold mine, just outside of Wells, B.C., marks a significant milestone for the region. Once operational, the mine is expected to provide sustainable employment for up to 500 individuals, stimulating the local economy. A note from Perry on Osisko Getting the Green Light for their Gold Mine “With their gold mine now approved, our next door neighbor, Osisko Development Corp. now has a market cap of $376 million Canadian. Our market cap is about $6 million Canadian. We are focused on our nickel potential but we originally staked the 200 square kilometers next to Osisko for the gold potential. It only cost us a few hundred thousand to stake and acquire the land beside them starting in 2019. At the time, Barkerville Gold Mines owned the property beside us. They were undercapitalized and really struggling to advance the property. When Osisko bought them, it changed everything. Instead of owning 200 square kilometers of property next to a promising gold project with no capital, we now own land next to a permitted gold mine that will be in production in 2024. In any normal mining market, that would be reflected in our share price. It will be eventually.”  All 50 Nickel Holes Successfully Hit The Quesnel Nickel Project stands as a remarkable achievement for Green River Gold, with an impeccable record of success across all 50 drilled holes. This feat underscores the immense potential of the project, with momentum gaining strength with each subsequent drill. Spanning about 14 linear kilometers and covering roughly 6.6 square kilometers. Currently embarking on their 50th consecutive drilling, they consistently uncover nickel, magnesium, cobalt, and chromium from the bedrock surface. This extensive drilling effort spans approximately 10 kilometers of the anomaly's total 14-kilometer length, with promising exploration opportunities extending towards both the far North-West and South-East ends. Perry Little, President and CEO of Green River comments,  “We are thrilled to see the consistency and continuity of the drill results as we continue to expand the known area of mineralization. We are able to drill throughout the Winter months because of our location, only 45 minutes from our large shop in Quesnel. Pending the receipt of permits, our drilling contractor, Gold Rush Supplies Inc. is ready to drill deeper holes so we can move toward the preparation of a 43-101 resource estimate on Zone 1 in the first half of 2024.” Green River Gold undertakes a non-brokered private placement of up to 10,000,000 units to raise gross proceeds of up to $500K  More information on their private placement can be found herehttps://drive.google.com/file/d/1cVnZmw5aE5e7KZLmL7x_RsWn-Xty0VRu/view?usp=share_link Settle in, unwind, and tune into the interview with Perry Little for an in-depth look at Green River Gold's strategic presence in various mining districts and their exploration ventures across diverse commodities.

Segment 3, June 17th, 2023 What's one of the most sold knife companies in the world?  I bet you can't guess? We're going to talk about it during this segment of the Carolina Outdoors.  It was started 133 years ago, in a workshop near the French Alps.  The knife maker was 18 years old and against the family's wishes he began work on the making of a small pocket knife. His name, Joseph Opinel.  The knife?  Affectionately known as Opinel No. 8.  Ben Quesnel, Opinel Manager, joins the program & shares that over 300 million knives have been sold since 1890. The famed Chamonix is near the original workshop where the company is still based.  France is known for food, wine, cheese, & knives.  The four go together because the knives are tools that aid in food preparation, cheese slicing, wine bottle opening & the craftsmanship that goes into the making of knives. At this time, the heritage brand, Opinel, is sold in over 70 countries around the world.  Eighty percent of the materials that go into the knives come from France or a nearby European country. The knives and innovation are ever changing with the company.  Marcus Opinel, Joseph's son, created the locking mechanism that are a part of the Opinel pocket knife in 1955. He added the Virobloc® system. He added a rotating ferrule which slid onto the fixed ferrule, closing the groove and thus locking the blade in the open position. Lastly, the economic and political changes that have happened in airports across the globe continue to grow demand.  Many times TSA agents and their counterparts will take knives when people accidentally try to make their way through security.  This causes Opinel clients to return to outdoor stores, like Jesse Brown's in Charlotte, to purchase another affordable knife from Opinel. Opinel operates within utility, tactical, gift, & culinary knives.  They continue to be one of the best, most demanded knives in the world.

This was a deep, heartfelt and at times funny conversation with Mona.So sit back, relax and I hope you enjoy this episode, just as much as I did being part of this conversation.Mona Illerbrun.Mona Illerbrun is the owner and facilitator of Partner Up. She foundherself always striving to make it better for the horse and this path lead her to the realisation that she, as the human, was the key. At a very young age she was honing her skills energetically and using energy to communicate with horses while at the same time utilising her curiosity, visual acuity and awareness to decipher what the horse was saying. This led to fluency in horse and her dedication to do “with” her horse instead of “to”.Mona spends her time during the summer riding in the rugged outdoors andsharing her passion for trail protection/clearing riding. The Cu-Au porphyries in British Columbia, Canada vary in setting, size, age and grade, and occur in a region with a complex tectonic history. This episode is about these systems and the key factors in their origin which also guide modern exploration. Our guests are also all authors in the recent CIM volume on porphyry deposits of the northwestern Cordillera.Mitch Mihalynuk (DEEP TIME Research Group, Oxford UK and British Columbia Geological Survey) introduces the episode by discussing the complicated tectonic setting of the northwestern Cordillera, specifically the well-mineralized Quesnel and Stikine terranes. From this introduction we learn about the southern Quesnel terrane from consulting geologist Joanna Lipske, with a focus on the New Afton deposit from the setting to the  ‘rediscovery story' to exploration. Joanna touches on the importance of many exploration techniques for porphyry deposits in southern BC and why there is no "silver bullet" exploration technique.Lastly, Gayle Febbo (Kingfisher Metals Corp.) takes us through some large porphyry deposits of the Golden Triangle in the northern Stikine terrane, discussing the importance of structure and magmatic affinity in the deposits of the KSM district.Theme music is Confluence by Eastwindseastwindsmusic.com
