The centurion's life and action reflect the beatitudes. Travis explains how the actions of the centurion show Jesus hypostatic union; that Jesus is truly human and truly Deity. Luke writes about a special occurrence that Jesus portrays, when He encounters the centurions request for his servant. Travis explains how this special occurrence shows Jesus' humanity and His Deity. _________ Series: The Beatitudes in… The post The Faith of the Centurion, Part 3 | The Beatitudes in Action appeared first on Pillar of Truth Radio.
The apostle had challenged the believers to think and live with humility. He reminds them that Jesus is our perfect example of humility for the Son of God set aside the advantages of His Deity in order to live as one of us. The Final JudgmentMatthew 25:31-46The judgment predicted here will not occur until Christ comes back to earth and sets up His millennial reign as Israel's Messiah.“Son of man” is in the Scripture the “Millennial title of Christ . . . [it] is found eighty-eight times in the New Testament [but] not once in the Epistles. The Epistles concern the Church, not the coming Kingdom of the millennium. Christ is the King of the Kingdom but Head of the Church.“Son of man” involves His humanity but does not exclude His Deity. His humanity needs to be involved in His Messianic office, for that is from the line of David. Christ is also called “King”Thank you for tuning into Daily Bible Benefits Have a good and godly day
Pastor John KeatingChristmas time is the season we know:- Music changes- Christmas lights- Christings trees- Busy scheduleWhile we all know what's coming, the idea of ‘foretold' is the exact idea of the first Christmas, that it was foretold to bring hope, a "Hope Foretold."Isaiah 7 and 53: Birth and Death foretoldIsaiah 9:6-7 (NLT)- The theme throughout scripture is that a literal Kingdom exists on earth that will be established once again and reign forever.- Verse 6 foretells three things about the coming Messiah: - His Humanity, His Deity, His PositionHis Humanity: “For to us, a child is given.”- Jesus was human: He got tired and thirsty and laid down at the well. - After being tempted by Satan, He was hungry; some versions say she was famished. - Even more, Jesus knew what pain, suffering, and death were, the conclusion of life for all who live. His Deity: "Unto us, a Son is given."- John 1:1 (NLT)- 1 Timothy 3:16 (NLT)His Position: "The government will be upon His shoulders."- This is a monarchy; it is one individual, decision-maker, leader, and king!- The King who walked amongst his people: - Dress as a peasant - Walked the markets- God did the same by sending Jesus to show us how to liveThe Character of the King:- And He will be called Wonderful Counselor, wise! Build a house, Mighty God, and have the ability to change. Everlasting Father, eternal, steadfast Prince of Peace.- Peace comes to people who can say “Glory to God in the highest,” only in anticipation of what's to come. Jesus will come again; it will end wars, transcend all evil on earth, and come to rescue broken hearts. He will never cease; it is eternal, not a 4-year term. It will expand to be a more peaceful & purer world. When we, as Christ's followers, fulfill the Great Commission to spread the hope of Jesus (Matthew 28) or look after orphans and widows in distress as instructed in James 1, we glimpse Christ's future reign to those living now. Will you allow Christ in you to be the hope for the world?
Alex Christe preaches the message, "The Deconstruction Of Jesus!" So many religions recognize Jesus, but not His Deity! It's a sad state of affairs.
Jesus in the first part of John 5 had defended His own Deity. He had healed a man on the Sabbath and the religious leaders wanted verification of His authority. Jesus gave testimony to His own Deity. However, He knew the culture called for two or three witnesses. He gave multiple other witnesses that pointed to His Deity starting with John the Baptist and ending with Moses.

We see how Psalm 8 is fulfilled by Messiah & His people from Hebrews 1-2, an exposition of Ps 8. Heb 1 proves Christ is exalted above the angels, not just from the standpoint of His Deity, but also from His exalted human nature, as a resurrected, glorified Man, the first begotten from the dead, seated on God's Throne above all angels. Then in Heb 2:5-11, it expounds Ps 8, declaring how God is fulfilling it through Jesus. In 2:7, it follows the Septuagint in translating Ps 8:5 as: "You have made him a little lower than the angels", rather than: "a little lower than God." Whereas the latter correctly reflects God's original plan for man, the former correctly describes the situation resulting from the Fall, when the 1st Adam submitted himself & the human race to a fallen angel, so it came under the dominion of darkness (Luke 4:6). Thus both translations are valid in their own way. To rescue us from sin & satan and restore us to our ordained exalted state, Jesus, for a little while, was made a little lower than the angels, by taking a human nature on Himself, to identify with us for the suffering of death (Heb 2:9), to bear our sins & death in our place, so we might be redeemed. Then in His resurrection & ascension, as the 2nd Adam, He was crowned with glory & honour, so now God has exalted Him to the highest place and given Him the Name above every name (Phil 2:9-11), and has put all things under His feet (Eph 1:19-22, 1Cor 15:27), in fulfilment of Ps 8:6. Thus Heb 2:9 shows how Ps 8:4-6 has now been fulfilled in the 2nd Adam. As a glorified Man He is now exalted above the angels. Heb 2 also points out He did all this as the Pioneer of our Salvation, to bring many sons to glory with Him (v10). Those who receive Christ as Lord and Saviour are put in Him, and thru this union, they become born again sons of God, His brethren, from the same womb (v11-18), so He is the firstborn among many brethren (Rom 8:29), and their spirits are raised & exalted with Him (Eph 1:19-23, 2:5-6). So in Him, our representative Head, redeemed man is already positionally above the angels (also Heb 1:14). Thus He's already accomplished the 1st stage of the fulfilment of Ps 8. But the complete fulfilment requires all things in creation, including angels, to be put under the feet of redeemed man in Christ as Heb 2:5-8 points out, which concludes by saying: "But now we do not yet see all things put under him (man). But we see Jesus..." Thus although Jesus our Pioneer & Head has received the full manifestation of glory & honour, the whole creation still eagerly awaits the full manifestation of the sons of God at the 2nd Coming (Rom 8:18-19), when all saints of every age will be crowned with glory & honour in their new bodies, and will rule & reign with Christ forever. Then Christ, having brought many sons to a state of glory, with all redeemed men crowned with glory, with all things under our feet, will have brought Ps 8 to fulfilment. No wonder it ends as it starts: "O Lord, our Lord, How excellent (majestic) is Your Name in all the earth!" (v1,9). This expresses its main theme. God began by manifesting His majestic Name (His nature & glory) in the earth thru His Creation, and then by Christ's Coming to earth to redeem us, before being exalted above the heavens in glory, and then finally by returning to manifest His Name to the whole earth. His glory will also shine thru us, His brethren, the manifested sons of God, made in His image to glorify Him by reflecting His glory. So although the 1st Adam fell, bringing the initial Theocratic Kingdom to an end (God ruling the world thru man), through Christ, the 2nd Adam, at His 2nd Coming, God will again establish His Theocratic Kingdom on earth for 1000 years, fulfilling His original plan. The earth will be regenerated to what it was like before the Fall (Matt 19:28). At this time, the Kingdom will be restored to Israel, as chief nation (Acts 1:6), and her Land made like the original Eden, with the Mount of the Lord towering above all others, from which Christ will reign over all the earth. These are the Times of Restoration of all things - restoration to what it was like before the Fall (Acts 3:21). The animal kingdom will come into peace under man's dominion (Isa 11:6, 65:25), and curse (sickness) will be removed. He will reign over a Kingdom of righteousness, peace, joy and abundance. The knowledge of His glory will cover the earth (Hab 2:14), and God will be glorified among the nations. Thus Ps 8 does not just describe God's original plan in Genesis to establish His Kingdom on earth through man (spoilt by the Fall), but it also declares God will ultimately accomplish His plan for man to reign on earth, through Messiah, the 2nd Adam, in the Millennium (Rev 20). At this time, He will reign as King of kings, and under Him, redeemed & glorified humanity will reign with Him as His kings, ruling over the people of the earth, who will still be living in their natural bodies.

This thought-provoking exploration of biblical teachings and the application to modern life from Mark chapter 6. We explore the profound impact of 'unbelief'. This discussion takes listeners on a journey through various biblical instances where Jesus did not do many miracles because of unbelief. The focus of the episode is on how, despite witnessing Jesus's miracles and hearing His profound teachings, many people, including those closest to Him, failed to fully accept His Deity. Their hard hearts kept them from seeing Jesus as the Messiah and recognize His divine nature. The discussion encourages a deeper understanding of true faith and challenges the listener to examine their life and relation to the Lord. This episode provides compels listeners to be mindful of their reactions to divine truth and warns of the potential repercussions of persistent unbelief, as evidenced by the townspeople of Nazareth. Despite facing rejection and doubt, Jesus continues His work, proving His divinity through His teachings and miracles. This resilience in the face of adversity underscores the importance of unwavering faith and serves as an impactful lesson for believers in their spiritual journey. This lesson does not only stimulate thoughts but encourages listeners to reflect internally and explore the depth of their faith. It provides scriptural insights to steer towards a fulfilling Christian life.

Many of you grew up hearing people around you pleading the blood of Jesus. Maybe this happened during a prayer for protection or even physical healing. As a lover of old hymns, when I think about the blood of Jesus, I instantly start hearing this sweet song: What can wash away my sins? Nothing but the blood of Jesus. What can make me whole again?Nothing but the blood of Jesus. Beloved Sister, it was the shedding of this blood that changed our trajectory. Because of the sinless blood of Christ and His sacrifice for you and I and ALL mankind, we have a tremendous hope. Sin doesn't grip us anymore and through His spilling of His blood in our place, we ARE HEALED. Not only from physical ailments, but from mental anguish, oppression, distress and every other creeping emotional and mental sentence. Today's episode, Our Healing is Activated by the Blood of Jesus, is an encouraging reminder of just that. We talked a little about who Jesus is, His Deity and authority to cleanse sin, and the countless ways that the blood operates. We also talked about the healing in His blood, and why blood. “The Example for Unity”Philippians 2:5-111) His Incarnation A. He did NOT lay aside His Deity B. He gave up HIs Rights as God
God became a Man in the Person of Jesus Christ. He is God, the Son, and the Son of God. Jesus is the central Person in the Bible, our Saviour and the Source of Eternal Life, and we must believe in Him and come to Him to receive salvation and eternal life (John 5:39-40, 1John 5:11-12). Salvation is of the Lord (Jonah 2:9), and only God can be our Saviour, so if Christ came to save us He must be God. Pastor Derek shares a number of Scriptures in the New Testament, which show that Jesus is fully God as well as fully man, and that believing in His Deity is necessary for salvation. In John 1:1,14, He is introduced as the Eternal Word made flesh, and later Jesus says that we receive eternal life through believing in Him - the God-man (John 3:16, 6:47, 20:31). In Romans 10:9, Paul tells us that those who confess: "Jesus is Lord" from a believing heart are saved. Derek shows that this is a confession of Christ's Deity and our submission to Him. In John 20, Thomas gives us a picture of saving faith, when he worships Jesus saying: "My Lord and my God" (v28). In John 8:58-59, Jesus claimed to be the I AM, and in John 8:24, He said: "If you do not believe that I AM, you will die in your sins.” When Jesus claimed to be the Son of God, the Jews tried to stone Him to death, because they knew He was claiming equality with God (John 5:18). His response was to affirm that He should be honoured just as the Father is honoured (v23). In Matthew 16:15-18, Jesus declared that receiving, embracing and confessing this revelation from God that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God is the key to be blessed with forgiveness and eternal life and become part of His true Church, built upon the Rock (Christ Himself). Romans 10:13 says "all who call on the Name of the Lord (Jesus) shall be saved." This is a quote from Joel 2:32, where 'Lord' translates 'Jehovah.' Thus this says Jesus is Jehovah God, and that we are saved through believing and calling upon Him as our Lord God. Thus saving faith must include knowing and submitting to Jesus as our Lord and our God.

Sermon Notes: https://churchlinkfeeds.blob.core.windows.net/notes/40356/note-177762.html Text: JOHN 5:19-29 Summary: Jesus clearly claimed that He is God (v17). He continues with colossal claims of His Deity, so there is no mistaking who He is. Nobody does what Jesus does; no one is worthy like Jesus; no one has the words of life like Jesus; no one holds the keys to eternity like Jesus.

Continuing in our series, Rhys looks at the doctrine of Jesus, His birth, His life, His Deity.
In this week's episode of the National Crawford Roundtable Podcast we look at the Kentucky Asbury College "Revival" .Why are some Christians expressing skepticism and caution over the event? Was it more focused on "experience" and not a "true" revival based on the Gospel, Doctrine or Jesus? Is this all just hyper-criticism? And we talk about the "HeGetsUs.com" Jesus Campaign. They ran 2 Superbowl commercials. Their ad campaign and their website both lack any mention of Jesus as Savior, Lord, His Deity, our need for salvation, paying for our sins, etc., reducing Jesus to just a man who showed the kind of love to other humans that WE need to show. Their website even says that their goal is not conversion. Are these legitimate concerns or are we being hyper-critical?
Everything that happened on the Day of Pentecost was according to the will and timing of Almighty God. This universe that we live in belongs to Him, and nothing happens by chance, but according to His eternal purpose and plans. The crowd both saw and heard the mighty outpouring of The Spirit, and caused some to wonder and others to mock. But Peter, standing on behalf of the apostles and other disciples of Jesus, opened his mouth and declared that what they saw and heard could be read about in the book of the prophet Joel.It should be noted that when we read the book of Joel, we discover that Joel also had a great deal to say about the Day of the Lord. In three chapters of the book of Joel, the Day of the Lord is mentioned five times. Joel talks about the fact that it is a time of war, a time of judgment upon the earth. The Day of the Lord will begin with the Great Tribulation period and will go on through the Millennium. Thus, the Day of Pentecost was the beginning of prophetic things to come. It was also the beginning of the miraculous works of the Spirit of God in conjunction with the preaching of the gospel. And as Peter continues to preach the gospel of the grace of God to them, he cited passages from the Psalms that pointed to the bodily resurrection of Jesus Christ, of which they all were witnesses (Acts 2:32). The empty tomb of Jesus was the proof of His Deity and the reply to religious leaders who asked Him the question, “What sign showest thou unto us, seeing that thou doest these things (cleansing the temple)? Jesus answered and said unto them, Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up. Then said the Jews, Forty and six years was this temple in building, and wilt thou rear it up in three days? But he spake of the temple of his body (John 2:18-21).Jesus Christ has risen, beloved. Our King is alive and will one day be seated on His throne. The Spirit of Pentecost is alive and working today dear ones. Jesus is still doing His wonderful works in and through His church. Jesus is still saving all those who call upon His Name (Acts 2:21). The Lord God Almighty reigns!! Selah
Discovering Jesus In the New Testament #02 – Jesus Is My Teacher By Louie Marsh, 1-15-2023 1) Jesus is my TEACHER. “13You call me Teacher and Lord, and you are right, for so I am.” (John 13:13, ESV) Of the 90 times Jesus is directly addressed in the Gospels, 60 of them use the title teacher. “2This man came to Jesus by night and said to him, “Rabbi, we know that you are a teacher come from God, for no one can do these signs that you do unless God is with him.”” (John 3:2, ESV) He wasn't educated, had no degrees, and never stepped foot into a classroom. Yet his teachings are revered and followed to this day. “15The Jews therefore marveled, saying, “How is it that this man has learning, when he has never studied?” 16So Jesus answered them, “My teaching is not mine, but his who sent me. 17If anyone's will is to do God's will, he will know whether the teaching is from God or whether I am speaking on my own authority.” (John 7:15–17, ESV) 2) Jesus' teachings are RADICAL. “36“Teacher, which is the great commandment in the Law?” 37And he said to him, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. 38This is the great and first commandment. 39And a second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself. 40On these two commandments depend all the Law and the Prophets.”” (Matthew 22:36–40, ESV) radical adjective rad·i·cal ˈra-di-kəl 1: of, relating to, or proceeding from a root: such as a(1): of or growing from the root of a plant radical tubers (2): growing from the base of a stem, from a rootlike stem, or from a stem that does not rise above the ground radical leaves B : of, relating to, or constituting a linguistic root C : of or relating to a mathematical root D : designed to remove the root of a disease or all diseased and potentially diseased tissue radical surgery radical mastectomy 2 : of or relating to the origin : FUNDAMENTAL The spirit not the letter of the Law “5Not that we are sufficient in ourselves to claim anything as coming from us, but our sufficiency is from God, 6who has made us sufficient to be ministers of a new covenant, not of the letter but of the Spirit. For the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life.” (2 Corinthians 3:5–6, ESV) “9And he said to them, “You have a fine way of rejecting the commandment of God in order to establish your tradition! 10For Moses said, ‘Honor your father and your mother'; and, ‘Whoever reviles father or mother must surely die.' 11But you say, ‘If a man tells his father or his mother, “Whatever you would have gained from me is Corban” ' (that is, given to God)— 12then you no longer permit him to do anything for his father or mother, 13thus making void the word of God by your tradition that you have handed down. And many such things you do.”” (Mark 7:9–13, ESV) His DEITY “56Your father Abraham rejoiced that he would see my day. He saw it and was glad.” 57So the Jews said to him, “You are not yet fifty years old, and have you seen Abraham?” 58Jesus said to them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, before Abraham was, I am.” 59So they picked up stones to throw at him, but Jesus hid himself and went out of the temple.” (John 8:56–59, ESV) 3) Jesus COMMANDS me to be radical. Don't WORRY about anything. “22And he said to his disciples, “Therefore I tell you, do not be anxious about your life, what you will eat, nor about your body, what you will put on. 23For life is more than food, and the body more than clothing.” (Luke 12:22–23, ESV) REJOICE in persecution. “22“Blessed are you when people hate you and when they exclude you and revile you and spurn your name as evil, on account of the Son of Man! 23Rejoice in that day, and leap for joy, for behold, your reward is great in heaven; for so their fathers did to the prophets.” (Luke 6:22–23, ESV) LOVE my enemies. “27“But I say to you who hear, Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you,” (Luke 6:27, ESV) Everyone DOESN'T enter the Kingdom of Heaven. “21“Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,' will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. 22On that day many will say to me, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and cast out demons in your name, and do many mighty works in your name?' 23And then will I declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from me, you workers of lawlessness.'” (Matthew 7:21–23, ESV) 4) Jesus COMMISSIONED me to be a radical teacher. “19Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”” (Matthew 28:19–20, ESV)

Jesus in this passage, is asking His disciples to simply believe Him whether for the words He speaks or for the works He does. Can not we, you and I, believe the Lord Jesus for what He says and what He has done to demonstrate His Deity, His authority, His love and ability to save us? Dr. Mitchell will walk us through this passage. So, here, with John 14:11-14 on the Unchanging Word, is Dr. Mitchell. --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/unchanging-word/message
Our study in the Gospel of John continues in chapter 11. Welcome to the Unchanging Word bible study. Our Lord Jesus, who is the resurrection and life, takes an occasion to prove His Deity once again. Here in this chapter, Jesus is notified that one whom He loves is sick. There is one word for love in verse 3 and another word for love in verse 5. And in both verses, Jesus is the one who is manifesting His love. Furthermore, Dr. Mitchell points out that it takes an occasion such as this for us to appeal to the Lord who loves us for His help in our affliction. How many times have we done this? Dr. Mitchell also will be speaking about the Biblical perspective on death. So, let's turn in our Bible to John 11:1 with our teacher Dr. Mitchell. --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/unchanging-word/message
In this study from the Unchanging Word, we have finished chapter 4 of John and Jesus' second sign of healing. In this chapter, continuing into John 5:1, the Apostle John takes us from the northern region of Galilee back down south to Jerusalem to a pool where Jesus performs His third miracle, once again demonstrating His Deity. This time Jesus Himself, of His own volition, takes the initiative to ask a man if he wants to be healed. Jesus speaks the word and the man is healed. Our Lord Jesus reveals Himself as the O.T. Jehovah Rappha, the LORD who heals. And this day was the sabbath day. According to Jeremiah 17:21, there was to be no work done on the sabbath. So this is when Jewish leaders begin to persecute the Lord Jesus Christ, who is the Lord of the sabbath. Join us in opening your Bible to John 5:1 with our teacher Dr. Mitchell. --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/unchanging-word/message
This sermon is part of an ongoing verse by verse study through the Gospel of John. The subject of this sermon is Christ's final witness of His Deity and Power, the Scriptures.
Yeshua: The God man If you study the communication of Jesus, you'll have one of two conclusions. 1. He is God 2. He is a fraud No ordinary person can speak the way Jesus did. In Matthew 4:7, Jesus said to Satan, "...do not tempt the Lord your God". Jesus was the one being tempted here yet He referred to himself as God. In Isaiah 9:6, The child Jesus to be born was called the everlasting father and the Mighty God. The fact that Jesus is son does not mean He's not God. Jesus has always been God however, he became son when he was conceived by virgin Mary, without the help of a man. It was by the Spirit of God, this is when He became the SON OF GOD. Jesus has an origin as a man but He has no beginning because He is God. He became a man one day but then, HE HAS ALWAYS BEEN GOD! The fact that Jesus is a son doesn't contradict His Deity as God. HE is God and will always be God. WHY SHOULD YOU KNOW JESUS? As believers, questions will always come and so we must always anticipate questions and have answers to these questions. Knowing Jesus is not just for argument, it is for worship. By knowing Jesus enough to defend Him, you have given Him a sacred place.
In this FIRST BIBLE STUDY after a 25 month "COVID" BREAK, we "set the stage" for a wonderful four-part, indepth study on "The Seven Sayings and Seven Miracles in Six Hours". The title, of course, is about Christ's words during the six hours of His crucifixion, and the seven miracles that proved His Deity (2 were "Conversion Calvary Miracles" and 5 were "Creative Calvary Miracles"). A primary focus in this BRAND NEW STUDY is the absolute sovereign control displayed by the Lord Jesus during His entire "ordeal" - from Gethsemane to Golgotha to the Garden Tomb! In this first study, we discuss some interesting facts about three men saved during the Lord's crucifixion, and how they represent all men. We also take a look at His first cross-saying, which was a prayer, "Father, forgive them for they know not what they do". Three of His Seven sayings from the cross were prayers, which was so very much "in character" for the One Who spent His entire life in communion with His heavenly Father. THERE IS A LOT COMPACTED IN THIS STUDY and YOU WON'T WANT TO MISS IT, plus the three follow-up lessons!
Pastor Josh Hall resumes his series in the Gospel of John with this message from John 12 entitled, "The Hour of His Glory." 1. The Glory of His Deity - vv. 23 - 26 2. The Glory of His Submission - vv. 27 - 30 3. The Glory of His Judgment & Salvation - vv. 31 - 36
We take another look at this awesome passage, by comparing it to how Jesus washed the feet of His disciples in John 13. We see how in John 13, Jesus acted out the whole drama of salvation, from beginning to end, revealing His humility, and that His motivation for humbling Himself was His love for us. We see how this foot-washing passage is an exact step by step parallel to Paul's great passage in Philippians, so much so, that it is likely that Paul was thinking of the foot-washing, when he wrote Philippians 2:5-11. By comparing Philippians 2:5-11 to John 13, much extra light is shed upon this awesome description of Christ's humility. Finally, we study Christ's exaltation to the highest place in Philippians 2:9-11, when He received the Name above all names, the prime example of the principle that humility results in exaltation. When Jesus was exalted, the Father restored to Him the full manifestation of His eternal glory (John 17:5), and also His human nature was glorified, and this is the basis of our future glorification, since we are in union with Christ, through His human nature. The day is coming when every being in Heaven, earth and under the earth will bow their knee to Christ, and confess that He is Lord (which is another proof of His Deity - see Isaiah 45:22-23, Romans 14:10-12). What does this mean for those who have rejected Him? What will it be like for them in Hell?

In this lesson, Mark 14:53-64, Mark records Jesus before the council. Here the Lord is subject to a fake trial. This is a most solemn occasion in our Lord's life. The sanhedrin, you will notice, had already decided the verdict they wanted against Jesus. They tried to find any witnesses who would testify against Christ. It says, there were many false witnesses. Then two false witnesses said they heard Jesus say that He would destroy the temple and in three days build another. To see how far off these words were from the truth, read John 2:19. The Lord Jesus remained silent up until the high priest asked him directly if He was the Messiah. Jesus said, “I AM”. Here Jesus verifies His Deity as Messiah. Turn with us to Mark 14:53. Dr. Mitchell tells us about Jesus' trial. Your listening to the Unchanging Word Bible Broadcast. --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/unchanging-word/message
We continued our discussion on the Holy Spirit and specifically on the arguments for His Deity. As proof, we looked at the Holy Spirit's honor, His listing in the Trinity, His works, and His names and words. We also asked, what exactly is the role or work of the Holy Spirit? Listen as Pastor/Dr. David Murphy discusses this topic and answers other listener questions.
Jesus Christ is fully God and fully man. But what does this really mean? In this episode, we discuss two crucial part of The Revelation. Jesus is fully God and fully man. He understands us and He knows the thoughts of God. In this study of Jesus we realize the compassion of Jesus Christ in His humanity and in His Deity. His love as God and as a man. https://anchor.fm/deo-kabunda/message --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/deo-kabunda/message
Pastor Murphy returned to our discussion on the Holy Spirit and reviewed the previously discussed material. Since we established that the Holy Spirit is a person and not merely an influencer, or force, or power, we discussed what kind of person is He? Is the Holy Spirit a created being or an eternal being? What are the arguments for His Deity? We also discussed several listener questions like: Since Christ said he will never leave or forsake us, isn't He the Holy Spirit? Christ also said that He and His Father are one, so aren't the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit the same? Is lying to the Holy Spirit (like Ananias & Sapphira) different from ignoring your conscience or is it similar? How could a person know that they're saved in the Old Testament? Listen as Pastor/Dr. David Murphy discusses these and other listener questions.
The name, Immanuel, speaks voluminously of God's great care for His people. His Deity, Humanity and Compassion can be seen in great effulgence.
We continue in Mark 2:1-12 with Jesus demonstrating His authority. Both Matthew 9 and Luke 5 present this same incident of four men making a way to the Savior through the roof of the house where Jesus was teaching. The problem the scribes and pharisees had was their ignorance of the Savior and His divine authority. It is easy to say words that declare the forgiveness of sins, but only the Lord Jesus Christ has the divine authority to not only declare it, but to make it happen. Our Lord demonstrated the authority of God in commanding the paralytic man to rise up, take his stretcher and go home. He did just that in the presence of all the people. The people were completely astounded by this miracle in which Jesus demonstrated His Deity. “The Alps, that lift their heads above the clouds are dust Compared with His divine immensity. The snow crowned summits fail to set Him forth. Depths unfathomed are too shallow to express the wisdom and the knowledge of the Lord. It is true the Lord has written his name on creation below, but as the skillful potter much excels the vessel which he fashions on the wheel, so greater far is Jehovah's self transcends his noblest works. Earth's wheels would break, her axles would snap, If freighted with the load of His Deity. Space is too narrow for the Eternal's rest, And time too short for his throne. Even avalanche and thunder lack a voice to utter the full volume of his praise. How then can I declare him? Where are words with which my glowing tongue may speak his name? Silent I bow, and humbly I adore....” ~ Charles Spurgeon
The childhood years of Jesus Christ; a look at His humanity, a look at His Deity.
http://amzn.to/143aTDm Baptism of the Holy Spirit The Baptism of The Holy Spirit as promised in the New Testament is quite different in kind from any of the various operations or manifestations of the Holy Spirit. "But the comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name… He shall teach you all things! And bring all things to your remembrance whatsoever He has said unto you,” (Jn. 14:26). Jesus said it was for the endowment of supernatural power for service. "Be endued with power from on high to witness,” (Lk. 24:9; (Acts 1:8). THE HOLY SPIRIT Jesus established His Church upon the rock of His Deity, His blood sacrifice and the anointing and powers of the Holy Ghost. He believed that His Church should be able to wage a militant successful war against the powers of the Devil. His church was given the absolute ability to conquer the powers of darkness and win the souls that He had died for.
