This is the last episode of the season, but we'll be back very soon after a short summer hiatus. We couldn't think of a more perfect guest to end things off with than multi-hyphenate Kamie Crawford. She has quite the CV. She's a producer and creator, the host of MTV's Catfish: The TV Show, Are You The One? *and* Ex on the Beach, a Sports Illustrated Swimsuit model, and the former Miss Teen USA 2010. She also has her very own relationship advice podcast, Relationshi*t. Kamie originally wanted to be a dermatologist, but quickly pivoted to communications after taking biology in college and hating it. she did local red carpet interviews and sent her reel to different news stations. She even moved to New York and modeled while trying to land TV hosting work that never came. Things changed in 2018 when someone in casting for Catfish reached out to see if she'd be interested in guest hosting with star Nev Schulman. She was a natural and landed a spot as a full-time host. In today's episode of Girlboss Radio, Kamie talks about lying on her job application to land her first job at American Apparel, when to know which career opportunities to say "yes" to, and how being delusional is the reason she got to where she is today. Whether you're familiar with Nev Schulman or not, you've probably heard of his hit TV show Catfish. For those who aren't familiar, catfishing is when someone is lured into a relationship by means of a fictional online persona. On this episode of the Cripescast, Nev explains the show's journey. Starting as a documentary based on his own catfish experience, to then being picked up by MTV for a series, to it being part of the cultural zeitgeist today, Catfish has taken on a life of its own. Beyond that, he and Charlie discuss everything under the sun from their love of minivans to their own personal manscaping preferences. While he may be from New York originally, Nev explains that he wants to settle down in the Midwest, specifically in Michigan. They bond over using cleaning as a form of therapy and Charlie promises to gift Nev a vintage vacuum cleaner next time he's in town. Frenchie Shore, ça vous parle ? Non ? Nev Schulman is the co-host of MTV's "Catfish" and is known for his own experience with romance scams. He is passionate about helping people protect themselves from online scammers and has recently teamed up with Zelle to protect people's money.Nev learned about financial scams when he was the subject of the 2010 documentary "Catfish." Through his experience, he discovered that people can be vulnerable to scams through romance, utility companies, ads, and more. He emphasizes the importance of being discerning and doing research before engaging with any suspicious activity. He also warns against the "love bombing" technique and urgency tactics that scammers use. If you are a victim of a financial scam, there is often not much recourse, but it is important to report it so that companies can work to prevent it from happening again."Rather than trying to rely on larger agencies to protect us, the responsibility really falls on the individual. We have to be discerning. We have to do our research.”In this episode, you will learn the following:1. What is the story behind Nev Schulman's experience with Catfish?2. How can you protect yourself from financial scams?3. What are the red flags to look out for when it comes to romance scams?

Today's guest is author, producer, and television host Nev Schulman. Nev's life changing experience was chronicled in the documentary film CATFISH and led to the creation of the hit MTV docuseries CATFISH: THE TV SHOW.Nev takes us back to the beginning and recounts the story about his relationship with a young woman who didn't exist, the complicated emotions he felt before and after making that discovery, and how he became more empathetic as a result. You'll hear the origin and deeper meaning of the term catfish, the value of awkward silences, why he has compassion for the people doing the catfishing, how the show has changed his perception of love, and a lot more. Our first caller is Samantha who lost touch with a good friend for years only to reconnect and discover that the friend is now dating her ex. Samantha wonders how or if she should tell her friend that the guy isn't what he seems.Next is a call with Jonathan who, after years of playing the field, believes he has finally found love. Now Jonathan wonders if he's getting played when his younger boyfriend doesn't return his texts and offers explanations that don't quite add up. The former Miss Teen USA winner chose an unconventional path by pursuing a career in TV after graduating college. After years of local gigs and a few bouts of doubt, her hard work finally paid off. Now, the creator and model works alongside Nev Schulman, with her signature red flag and unfiltered expressions, broadening Catfish's narrative from poking holes in online dating tales, to finding compassion and understanding for others. "I've made it here. I'm good with that. I'm going to start this race as me. However I finish, I'm still me." I love a live show! The day before the United Airlines NYC Half (thanks to New Balance, New York Road Runners, and the 1 Hotel Central Park South), I had the pleasure of hosting a live recording of the Ali on the Run Show with returning podcast guests Becs Gentry and Nev Schulman. (Shout-out to the live audience: You were a great crowd, and you were so much fun! Thank you for being there.) This banter-filled conversation covered everything from Becs and Nev's approaches to running and dealing with dark moments on the run, to peeing in the ocean and mastering the art of "The McDash." You'll laugh, you'll gasp (the collective sound in the room when Nev asserted that treadmill running "isn't real running," oh my...), and I hope you'll enjoy. (Oh, and by the way: The fastest marathon ever on a treadmill was run by former Ali on the Run Show guest CJ Albertson! He covered 26.2 miles on a treadmill in 2:09:58.) SPONSOR: New Balance. “My default is trusting and looking for the good. I want to believe that people are telling me the truth when I talk to them. I assume they are. I just generally find that I always give people the benefit of the doubt and assume they're honest and well intentioned. Obviously that's not true. But that sort of naïveté, if you will — which definitely led to me getting catfished — has strangely served me well. I'm so glad I got duped by that woman.” Nev Schulman is best known as the star of the 2010 award-winning documentary Catfish, and now as the host of the MTV show of the same name. (My mom knows — and adores — him as the runner-up from Season 29 of Dancing with the Stars.) But when he's not seeking scammers, he's likely on the run. Nev is a 2:58 marathoner who is currently training to run the New York City Half Marathon, where he hopes to run a personal best (sub-1:25). On this episode, Nev talks about what it was like growing up near the New York City Marathon finish line and getting to watch the race with his dad (also a 2:58 marathoner!) every year. He talks about becoming a dad himself (he and his wife have three children) and the unexpected effects of fame on both him and his family. He talks about hitting rock bottom at 19, and about how he learned not to let the hardest time in his life define him forever. And he talks about his empathetic and compassionate outlook on line, and how he's able to remain optimistic in this world, even after being catfished himself. Plus, all about his running story, including how he got started running at age 30, his favorite New York City Marathon memories, and more. Catfish is back on MTV and Nev Schulman chats with Jeremy Bradley about investigating online liars. After all this time, are people still getting duped by scam artists or have love seekers smartened up? Apparently there's no shortage of relationship drama as Nev continues to track catfish. Plus, is Nev's former sidekick, Max, coming back to the reality show? A recent social media post had fans wondering. Also, JB talks about interviewing Bob Saget and the impression the comedian left on the radio host.Buff Boy Brewing Co. Need your daily - or hourly - fix of fresh coffee? After a mournful moment of silence for Nev Schulman, Nick and Jess welcome their very first guest to the pod: photographer, designer, and occasional comedian Avery Brunkus! You might know her from side-hustling the cutest darned air plants you ever did see or maybe from, ya know... Broadway?! They've got things to SAY and verdicts to GIVE on phone cases that look like vintage cameras, the audacity of inanimate objects, the National Dog Show, and more. Avery exclusively reveals how she became famous for brushing her teeth, which is pretty chic, if you ask us. And, of course, they get into the Tits and Tats of the Week, their most personal passions and pet peeves. None of us can get enough of Ms. Brunkus, and if you can't either, make sure to follow her on Insta at @abrunkus!

And don't miss the first-ever Tits and Tats of the Week, the Deepest, Darkest opinions which will be respected and validated. It's time to find out what really *is* the verdict??
