A few hours later, she scorched the track again, leading all 200m qualifiers in 21.96, equalling the fastest single-day double in history.In the 10,000m final, Iowa Stare freshman Mercyline Kirwa pulled off an incredible upset over Pamela Kosgei and Jane Hedengren, closing in 61.84 to win the NCAA title for the Cyclones. Hedengren, who finished third, will race again in Saturday's 5000m final.The women's 800m prelims featured the fastest rounds we've ever seen, with 1:59.93 being required just to make the final. All of the 1500m favorites qualified, setting up the final we've all been waiting for. Akala Garrett, Aaliyah McCormick and Dejanea Oakley all posted fast qualifying times ahead of Saturday's finals.In the field, Amanda Moll established a new collegiate record in the outdoor pole vault at 4.84m, while Axelina Johansson (Shot put) and Alyssa Jones (Long jump) both notched championship records on their way to a title. With earthworks underway and a 50-person camp operational, the build currently remains ahead of schedule. Management anticipates the first doré pour by December 2027, officially transitioning the firm from a development-stage company into a near-term producer.The financial projections for El Tigre are highly compelling. At current spot prices, the surface heap leach mine boasts a standalone after-tax net present value of roughly USD 800 million, an internal rate of return of 92 percent, and generates USD 100 million annually over an initial 10-year life. Crucially, the company also released an assessment for an adjacent underground mine featuring a 15-year lifespan and a USD 830 million valuation. Unlike many Mexican epithermal deposits where surface mining blocks deeper extraction, El Tigre's underground ore body lies entirely outside the surface footprint. This spatial advantage allows both operations to run concurrently, sharing infrastructure and drastically reducing the initial capital expenditure for the underground expansion.Beyond the established plan, Silver Tiger is aggressively pursuing exploration upside. Drilling has resumed on northern veins located 700 meters away, targeting an additional three million tonnes of silver equivalent. This expansion could nearly double the underground resource. Despite a recent dip in share price, the company views its current valuation as a massive discount to the combined theoretical project value of up to USD 1.8 billion. A Washington state manufacturer of tooling and parts for advanced industries plans to establish its third production facility in Montana — and create about 2,000 jobs.Janicki announced Tuesday that it selected Great Falls, Montana, for the $800 million project, which would complement the company's existing production facilities in Northwest Washington and suburban Salt Lake City.The privately-owned engineering and manufacturing company, established in 1993, says it designs and builds tools, parts, assemblies and prototypes for a wide range of industries, including aerospace, defense, architectural and marine applications. It specializes in composite fabrication and precision machining utilizing its proprietary 5-axis mills, which it says are among the largest in the world.Janicki officials said in a statement that growth in its aerospace and defense programs, in particular, has pushed demand beyond its capacity in Washington and Utah. The Montana plant, they added, will be part of a “multi-state, phased growth strategy.”The company anticipates building a campus that would add 2 million square feet of production space over the next decade. The project would create about 1,000 jobs within the first five years and more than 2,000 jobs overall once construction is complete — a total that would roughly double its current workforce.Montana Free Press reported that Janicki would receive a 50% property tax break from the city and county over five years, which would then be gradually phased out over the following five years. Two former Benchmark investors are pitching something you don't usually see this soon: a joint, $800 million AI fund—less than a year after each left to raise smaller, founder-led vehicles on their own. Victor Lazarte left the Silicon Valley fund in July 2025 after backing companies like Mercor, Heygen and Applied Compute in his two-year stretch as a partner. After exiting Benchmark, he quickly raised $200 million for his own fund, VL. Now, Lazarte is pitching a much bigger fund to make bets on early and growth stage startups. He's telling prospective limited partners he plans to raise a new fund called Diffusion and co-manage it with Kris Fredrickson, according to several investors who say they were pitched on the effort. The target is roughly $800 million, one of the larger first-time venture raises of the year. Fredrickson started his investing career at Benchmark before moving to hedge fund Coatue, where he backed companies like Instacart, Chime and Scale AI. Forbes reported last July that Fredrickson had raised $175 million for his own fund, Verified, to back growth stage AI startups like legal platform Harvey and search engine Perplexity. Guinness Enterprise Centre (GEC), Ireland's entrepreneurial superhub, has announced that it has invested €50M in growing and enriching Ireland's largest start-up campus since it was founded 25 years ago. This investment has benefited 1,500 start-ups and makes the Guinness Enterprise Centre the largest non-state investor in facilities for early-stage start-ups in Ireland. Guinness Enterprise Centre is a non-profit organisation, founded in 2000 by Diageo, Furthr (formerly Dublin BIC), Dublin City Council, Enterprise Ireland, Local Enterprise Office Dublin City and the Guinness Workers Enterprise Fund. Once a warehouse attached to the famous Guinness brewery in Dublin's Liberties, the Guinness Enterprise Centre now encompasses a five-storey campus, hosting 160 start-ups who benefit from a vibrant ecosystem that provides access to investors, mentors, events and scaling programmes. The organisation reinvests all revenues into this ecosystem and its facility. In doing so, it has supported start-ups like video game development studio, Black Shamrock, which now employs almost 140 on site at Guinness Enterprise Centre. Other success stories include Astatine, which last year signed an €800M partnership with Aviva Investors to develop a renewables platform, and Circle Internet Group, a Goldman Sachs-backed payments technology company. Revenues at the Guinness Enterprise Centre reached almost €2.56M last year. The non-profit expects to exceed €3M in revenues in 2026 and by 2030, it expects to reach annual revenues of €4M. Over the next five years, the Guinness Enterprise Centre expects to reinvest €18M in revenues in its campus. Income is primarily generated through office and co-working space fees, which are kept below market rates to reduce barriers to entry for start-ups. Additional income is generated through conference and event space rentals, further supporting the Guinness Enterprise Centre's mission to support early-stage companies. Niamh Collins, Centre Director, Guinness Enterprise Centre, said: "Since the beginning, every euro we have generated has been reinvested back into our ecosystem. When a company pays rent here, they're not just securing desk space; they're funding the mentor network, the investor connections, and the programmes that will benefit them, along with future generations of entrepreneurs walking through our doors. In 2025, Lafayette High School's Xavier Richardson reached a season that had been years in the making.The Lexington, Kentucky senior didn't rise quickly or cleanly. His path was marked by races that fell apart, progress that stayed hidden, and belief that came late. By the time this year arrived, Richardson wasn't chasing a breakout. He was waiting to see if patience would finally pay him back.The results followed. During his junior track season in the spring of 2025, despite being known primarily as a 1600m and 3200m runner, Richardson stepped down to the 800m at the Kentucky state meet. He won it. His first individual state title.The breakthrough showed up across the board. PRs of 1:53 in the 800m, 4:09 in the 1600m, and 8:58 in the 3200m.The fall confirmed the shift. By the time cross country rolled around, he carried that momentum, running 14:44 for the 5K XC in his season debut. He went on to place second individually at the state cross country meet while helping his team secure the championship. Racing for something bigger than himself. Weeks later, Richardson finished runner-up at NXR Southeast, earning his first trip to Nike Cross Nationals. Performing under pressure.But the season wasn't built on results alone.Richardson's rise was shaped by years where progress felt invisible. By learning to trust the people around him. By staying through losses long enough for them to teach him something. This season didn't erase the failures.
