Bible Reading: Genesis 1:31; 2:1-3; Hebrews 12:2-3Ari smudged a grey blotch in the sky painted on his canvas. "Can't get this right," he said to himself.Mom looked in at his bedroom door. "Did you finish your math?" Ari nodded. "Looks like you finished your painting for the art fair," Mom said. Ari shook his head, and Mom left.Four-year-old Becca ran into the room holding a teapot. "Time for tea!" she yelled over and over while running in circles around Ari's easel."Becca! You're a nuisance! Go away!" he growled. Becca fell silent. She stood still and stared at Ari, then quietly left the room with the teapot hanging down by her side.Ari's shoulders drooped. He set down his brush and went to Becca's room. "I'm sorry, Becca. I shouldn't have yelled at you. You're not a nuisance. I'd like some tea."Becca skipped over to a little table set for tea. "Oh, goody! That's your green cup."After two cups of pretend tea and cake, Ari felt pretend full. "Your tea is good, Becca, but I have to work on my painting now. Okay?" Becca nodded.Later Mom came in to look at Ari's painting while he fussed with lines on a tree trunk. "I can't get this right," he said. "I'll never finish. It's a good thing God isn't like me, or the earth never would've gotten created. Just think, Mom, He didn't have to correct anything. He didn't make any mistakes.""And He knew when He was done," Mom added."I don't think I'll ever be done with this painting." Ari sighed. "Or with doing things wrong. I yelled at Becca again this morning. I said I was sorry, but I wish I'd be kind to her to begin with.""Ari, you do wrong things because we're all still dealing with sin in this world. But you're like an art project of God's. Because He's your Savior and Lord, He'll finish His project in you the same way He finished making the world. The Bible says God started a good work in you and will complete it perfectly on the day Jesus returns."Ari smiled and began to clean his brushes. "I can't make my art perfect, but I'm glad I have a perfect Creator who's working on me."–Laura RoeslerHow About You?Do you ever feel bad about something you said or did? Do you get frustrated because you keep doing wrong things? Even as a Christian, you'll still struggle with sin in this world, but Jesus promises to forgive you when you admit your sin. God is at work in you, helping you be more loving to others and obedient to Him. Toxic thoughts are bad because- neuroscience actually proves that negative events actually imprint on our brains more quickly and linger longer then positive events-Example- what spreads faster on social media? Negative or positive events? What about in the news? The mind governed by the flesh is death but the mind governed by the spirit is life and peace.Romans 12:2"Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is—His good, pleasing and perfect will." (NIV) Philippians 4:8"Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things." (ESV)1. Pay attention- what does your thought process look like? Do you find yourself spiraling quickly? Or are you able to catch yourself in the midst of a toxic thought and slow down the spiraling process? 2. Practice gratitude3. Focus on the present- not the past or what is to come- enjoy the moments right in front of you. Worry and anxiety come when we are worreid about tomorrow or stuck in the past4. Actively replace the negative with the positive- this is NOT manifestation- although I believe that was first biblical but the world has twisted it all up. When we are using manifestation to take credit for the things that are happening around us then we are using it the worlds way. We have choices about how we think and act on those thoughts, and maybe we will find success by speaking life over ourselves through manifestation….like I said it's a biblical principle cause God created us and our minds very uniquely,  but ultimately our strongest move will be to partner with God and HIS word instead of trying to do it on our own. What are you going to decide to do with those negative thoughts today? Are you going to partner with them and let them take root in your heart? Are you going to except them as truth or make a decision to get rid of those thoughts and partner with better ideas about yourself- threw God's word and what He says?Be encouraged, challenged and blessed today!!Join the ROOTED Bible Study group here> https://stan.store/mrsangelapitnikoff/p/rootedGrab your downloadable scripture cards here>> https://stan.store/mrsangelapitnikoff/p/30-scripture-cards✨Come hang with me on IG- https://www.instagram.com/mrsangelapitnikoff/✨Join our FB sisterhood!- https://www.facebook.com/groups/kingdomdaughterssisterhood✨Want some fun free resources? Bible Reading: Matthew 7:7-11Leighton was excited to spend time with his aunt. Since his new cousin was born, he hadn't seen her much."Let's get right to the card tricks," said Aunt Ellie. "Where did I put my cards?"There was baby stuff everywhere. Leighton helped his aunt go through it. Finally, they found a deck of cards under a stuffed giraffe.Aunt Ellie was emptying out the card box when they heard crying coming from down the hallway. She stood. "That's River."Leighton shuffled the cards as he waited for his aunt. His sister had a birthday party coming up, and he wanted to surprise her guests with the tricks that his aunt knew."She needs to eat. Sorry." Aunt Ellie reappeared, sitting down and sticking a bottle into the mouth of the crying bundle in her arms.Leighton waited as his cousin ate and as his aunt held her and patted her back. He waited as Aunt Ellie changed the baby's diaper, and he watched her lay her in a bassinet."Watch Mommy impress your cousin with card tricks, okay?" Aunt Ellie moved back over to Leighton. She was about to do a card trick when River started to cry again. She dropped the cards. "Maybe she has a burp that's stuck.""She needs help burping?" Leighton watched his aunt pick up the baby and start patting her back again. "I'm never going to learn this trick.""Babies need a lot from us," said Aunt Ellie. "I was talking about that with your grandma. She reminded me that's how we are with God. First, we need Jesus to save us from sin and give us new life in Him." Aunt Ellie sat down. "Then we need His forgiveness when we don't listen to what He says. We need His protection. We need His encouragement. We need His peace and joy and the hope He offers…""Do you think He gets tired of all our needs?" Leighton asked. His aunt shook her head. "Never." River had quieted in her arms, and she looked at Leighton with a smile. "Know what she needs now? Her cousin." She reached over and placed the baby in Leighton's outstretched arms, and he held her carefully. –Emily AckerHow About You?Do you know any babies who are always needing something from you and the adults in your life? Babies can't do anything for themselves--they're dependent on others to take care of them and give them what they need. And we need God to take care of us. Bible Reading: Philippians 2:3-8Tristan beamed as he picked up a shoe from the display table. "This is the kind I want, Mom! All the guys are getting shoes like this. The special soles reduce the pounding you get from the gym floor." Tristan imagined what his friends would say if he showed up at practice wearing these shoes. He looked at his mother hopefully, but she was moving away."How about this one?" Mom held up a shoe similar to the one Tristan was holding.Tristan made a face and shook his head. "Nobody buys that brand."Mom sighed in exasperation. "Tristan, I want to buy shoes you like, but I'm not going to pay a lot of money just so you can have a certain brand.""But I don't want any other shoes!" "Then you can get along with your old ones," Mom said, and she hurried him out of the store."Who was at the door?" asked Mom later that night as she was cooking dinner."It was Joey," Tristan said with a scowl. "He just came to show off his new skateboard. He just got one a few months ago, but he bought another one. He just got it to impress the guys."Mom looked surprised. "So we shouldn't buy things just to impress others?" Puzzled, Tristan shook his head. "Of course not." "But weren't you wanting to do the same thing with those shoes today?" asked Mom. "Didn't you want that brand just to impress other kids?"Tristan looked at the floor. "Well…maybe." Mom sighed. "I understand what it's like to want nice things, Tristan. But when we want to get things just to impress others, we need to remember where our worth comes from. People's opinions of us can change from one day to the next--they're fleeting, just like the things we own, which will eventually wear out or get lost or broken. But God's opinion of us never changes. Our value comes from the love He showed us by sending Jesus to save us from sin."Mom put a hand on Tristan's shoulder. "Instead of trying to impress people with what you have, let them know you by the way you treat them and show them God's love. They should know you by your heart, not your shoes." –Cynthia Y. PowellHow About You?Do you want name-brand clothing and other things everybody else seems to have? It's good to dress your best and look nice, but that shouldn't be your focus in your interactions with others. Popular items come and go, along with what people think of you for owning them, but the way you treat others will stay in their minds long after. Instead of showing off things you have, show others the love you have in Jesus.Today's Key Verse:Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves. How to Find Hope When You're Hopeless Genesis 15:1-4 After this, the word of the Lord came to Abram in a vision: “Do not be afraid, Abram. I am your shield, your very great reward.” 2 But Abram said, “Sovereign Lord, what can you give me since I remain childless and the one who will inherit my estate is Eliezer of Damascus?” 3 And Abram said, “You have given me no children; so a servant in my household will be my heir.” 4 Then the word of the Lord came to him: “This man will not be your heir, but a son who is your own flesh and blood will be your heir.” (NIV) Romans 4:18 Even when there was no reason for hope, Abraham kept hoping—believing that he would become the father of many nations. For God had said to him, “That’s how many descendants you will have!” (NLT) Romans 4:19-21 He did not weaken in faith when he considered his own body, which was as good as dead (since he was about a hundred years old), or when he considered the barrenness of Sarah’s womb. 20 No unbelief made him waver concerning the promise of God, but he grew strong in his faith as he gave glory to God, 21 fully convinced that God was able to do what he had promised. (ESV) Romans 4:20 Abraham never wavered in believing God’s promise. In fact, his faith grew stronger, and in this he brought glory to God. (NLT) Hebrews 11:1 Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see. (NIV) 1. Focus on Faith not Facts Romans 4:19 He did not weaken in faith when he considered his own body, which was as good as dead (since he was about a hundred years old), or when he considered the barrenness of Sarah’s womb. (ESV) Romans 8:28 And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose. (NIV) 1 John 5:14 This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us. (NIV) Matthew 7:7 Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. (NIV) Mark 11:24 Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours. (NIV) Psalms 27:13-14 I remain confident of this, I will see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living. Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord. (NIV) Philippians 1:6 being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus. (NIV) 2. Focus on how good God is not on how bad you are Romans 4:20-21 No unbelief made him waver concerning the promise of God, but he grew strong in his faith as he gave glory to God, 21 fully convinced that God was able to do what he had promised. (ESV) Genesis 15:1 After this, the word of the Lord came to Abram in a vision: “Do not be afraid, Abram. I am your shield, your very great reward.” (NIV) Psalm 141:8 But my eyes are fixed on you, Sovereign Lord; in you I take refuge—do not give me over to death. (NIV) Psalm 25:15 My eyes are ever on the Lord, for only he will release my feet from the snare. (NIV) Hebrews 12:2 fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. (NIV) 3. Focus on what you can do and not on what you can't do

Bible Reading: Matthew 6:25-34Elliot looked out the kitchen window. It had rained all morning, but now the sun was shining brightly. The leaves on the big tree outside were golden and seemed to glow in the sunlight. If only those leaves could be turned into real gold, thought Elliot. Then Mom and I could solve all our problems. He sighed. He couldn't help worrying now that his mom had lost her job. Things had already been tight before--how would they manage now? Turning toward his mother, he asked, "What are we going to do about money, Mom?" "Don't you worry about that," said Mom. "I have a bit saved up, and I'm sure I'll find another job soon. There are lots of jobs available in the medical field."As Mom stood beside Elliot at the window, several sparrows swooped down and perched on the volleyball net someone had set up in the courtyard of their apartment building. Under the weight of the birds, the net sagged and swayed in the wind. Soon the thin, weak poles that supported the net became uprooted, and everything crashed to the ground. Elliot and Mom watched as the frightened birds flew away."You know, Elliot," said Mom, "that flimsy net is like money and material things. When we count on them to hold us up in times of trouble, they always fail, just like that net failed those birds. Aren't you glad we can count on someone who never fails?""You mean God, don't you?" said Elliot."That's right," said Mom. "I'm thinking of a verse you learned at camp this summer--the one about birds. Do you remember it?""About birds?" Elliot thought about it. "I think I remember. We learned Matthew 6:26, which says, 'Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they?'"Mom nodded. "God takes care of the birds, and He'll provide for our needs too. Jesus has already provided for our biggest need of all by saving us from sin and giving us eternal life. Because of that, He is always with us, and we can trust Him to take care of us."Elliot smiled. Sometimes life hands us a situation, or an experience, that we never expected. Maybe it's something exciting, like a new relationship or adventure, but sometimes it can be full of sorrow, too, like the loss of a job we loved or an unexpected illness that derails everything. But it's in those moments that we find out who we are, and what God has made us capable of, giving us an opportunity to really show up for others. This week, we sit down with Josh Baldwin, a worship leader, songwriter, and artist with over two decades of experience. Josh opens up about walking through a challenging season of mental health in his family, and how he turned to music for comfort and direction from the Lord, which he now uses to bring comfort and peace to his listeners.  Later, we'll hear from Diane Chew, known as Dementia Coach Diane, a life coach and caregiver for her husband, Ben, who has Lewy Body Dementia. Mental Breakdown at Cal Poly Disqualified from Cal Poly because of my grades; got an opportunity to see a therapist;THERE IS HOPE IN JESUS” John 5:6 (NKJV) A journey surrounding mental health within our faith community. We are committed to looking to God's Word to guide us in dispelling myths & embracing mental health in accordance with His will and plan. Are you internally battling real depression, real anxiety, can't let go of the stress, & dealing with crippling fear. DEFINING MENTAL HEALTH: Mental Health is probably not the best term to describe what we're talking about because it's more involved that that… When we say “Mental Health” we're talking about spiritually health, emotionally health, & being relationally health How you THINK – IMPACTS – how you FEEL – IMPACTS - how you LIVE Your mental health determines how I handle stress; how I relate to people; how I make choices; how I bounce back from disappointment… [WHAT DOES JESUS SAY ABOUT MENTAL HEALTH…] John 14:27 (NIV) If you are overwhelmed with fear, overwhelmed with anxiety, You are absolutely human but that IS NOT FROM GOD! Romans 15:13 (NIV) Philippians 4:4-7 (NIV) MYTHS ABOUT MENTAL HEALTH THAT ARE VERY DESTRUCTIVEMyth #1: Mental Illness is a Sign of Weak Faith Myth #2: Christians Should Not Struggle With Mental Health Elijah: 1 Kings 18-19; David: 1 Samuel 17; Jeremiah (The Weeping Prophet): Whole Book Myth #3: Seeking Professional Help is a Sign of Weakness Proverbs 15:22 (NIV) 1 Corinthians 12:26 Sometimes you will need to learn some tools so that you can walk in the mental health Jesus has paid the price for you to live in. Myth #4: Mental Illness is a Punishment for Sin THREE STEPS TO INCREASE MENTAL HEALTH Don't Go At It Alone, Find the Support You Need Be Diligent to Address Your Thoughts in a Biblical Way Romans 12:2 2 Corinthians 10:4-5 [John Maxwell…] How Transformational Change Happens: When you change YOUR THINKING, you change YOUR BELIEFS. When you change YOUR BELIEFS, you change YOUR EXPECTATIONS. When you change YOUR EXPECTATIONS, you change YOUR ATTITUDE. When you change YOUR ATTITUDE, you change YOUR BEHAVIOR. When you change YOUR BEHAVIOR, you change YOUR LIFE. ALL LIFE CHANGE STARTS WHEN I CHANGE THE WAY I THINK Remember It All Starts With God and God Is For You Most people overwhelmed with discouragement and depression somehow feel like God is not for them and that He is actually against them.

"Humility is not thinking less of yourself, but thinking of yourself less." - C.S. Lewis, Mere Christianity Bob Schwahn | Lead Pastor | June 9, 2024 “Humility is the single greatest and most indispensable attribute of being a team player.”— Patrick Lencioni, The Ideal Team Player p. 157 1 Peter 5:5b-6 (NIV) Philippians 2:3-8 (NIV) Jesus modeled “choosing to lose”. 1. Jesus saw the needs of others – ahead of his own. John 13:1 (NIV) 2. Jesus used his authority to serve others. Mark 9:35 3. Jesus served those who were difficult to love. John 13:2 (NIV) John 13:15-17 (NIV) 1 Peter 5:6 (NIV) “If anyone would like to acquire humility, I can, I think, tell him the first step. The first step is to realize that one is proud. And a biggish step, too. At least, nothing whatever can be done before it. If you think you are not conceited, it means you are very conceited indeed.” — C.S. Lewis, Mere Christianity John 13:34-35 (NIV) “A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.” Reflection Questions: 1. In light of 1 Peter 5:5, why does God oppose pride and show favor to humility?2. How would you define humility? How would you know if you are humble?3. Why is humility a cornerstone of healthy relationships?4. How have you seen a lack of humility damage relationships in your life?Read John 13:1-175. How does Jesus model humility in this passage? How is he “not looking to his own interests but to the interests of others”?6. How can we grow in focusing on the needs of others and choosing to put those needs ahead of our own?7. Where is a place in your life (influence/power/position/time) that you could serve the needs of those around you? How will you do it? When?8. Jesus modeled humility by loving and serving those that would abandon, deny, and betray Him. How could love people in your life that may sometimes be difficult to love? Who is someone you could serve now that is difficult to love? What is a practical way to serve them?9. In John 13:15-17, Jesus promises a blessed life if we follow his example. How can living this way live to a blessed life? Won’t we miss out if we constantly focusing on others? Who will look out for us and meet our needs?10. Humility is sometimes referred to as the “shyest” of all virtues. When you to talk about it or focus on it, it goes away. What do you think that means? How are we then to work on growing in humility?11. How are “insecurity” and “arrogance” both a form of pride? How can insecurity be a more subtle form of pride? How can insecurity even look like humility? How can we see that in ourselves? Bible Reading: Matthew 6:28-33"Mom, what if Dad can't find another job?" Selah was sitting with Mom on the porch, helping shuck corn for supper. Dad had been out of work for months, and even though her parents were still in good spirits, Selah could tell that money was starting to get tight. Mom smiled at her question. "The Lord will provide for us," she said confidently as she tore off another cornhusk.Selah smiled as her kitten, Max, came bounding around the corner and started batting at the pieces they were dropping on the ground. She still couldn't help but think about the things they would have to give up if Dad didn't find a job soon.Mom looked at the kitten, then looked at Selah. "Selah, did you feed Max today?"Selah looked surprised. "Yes, of course. I feed him every day!"Mom smiled. "Why do you feed him?"Selah picked up Max and put him on her lap. "I love him, and he needs food every day," she explained. "Why do you ask?""Your kitten reminds me of a verse in the Bible," said Mom. "It's about how we don't need to worry about what we eat or what we wear, because the Lord will provide for us. We just need to trust that He will keep His promises."Selah looked down at Max. He was so small--he would never be able to find food on his own. "So, Max trusts me to provide for him like we need to trust God to provide for us.""Exactly," said Mom. "And this corn we're shucking is just one way the Lord has provided for us today."Selah looked puzzled. "What do you mean?""The Thomas family from church grew this corn in the field behind their house," Mom explained. "They had so much that they gave us a whole basketful!""Wow." Selah rubbed Max's fur as he stretched out in her lap. "I guess God really is taking care of us!"Mom nodded. "God provided for our greatest need of all by sending Jesus to be our Savior. He gave us His own Son, and we can trust Him to give us what we need each day too. This corn we eat with dinner can remind us of all the incredible ways God provides for us." –Emily TenterHow About You?Do you trust God to take care of all your needs? Or do you spend a lot of time worrying about them? God promises to look after His children and care for them. When we needed a Savior, He sent His Son to die for our sins so we could be saved. You can trust Him to provide everything you need. Give your worries and burdens to Him and let Him take care of you.Today's Key Verse:My God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus. Bible Reading: Philippians 1:3-6; 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18Astrid plopped down on the porch swing. She looked up as her Uncle Tim came up the porch steps. "Hi, Astrid," he said. "Do I see a frown on this beautiful day? What's up?"Astrid sighed. "My friend Ella's rich grandpa paid for a vacation in Florida for her whole family. I heard all the details at least a hundred times! Why can't I have a rich grandpa too, instead of just paper ones?""Paper grandpas? What do you mean?" asked Uncle Tim."Well, Grandpa Jerry's picture has been standing on the desk for as long as I can remember, and that's all I know of him. And my other grandpa died so long ago that I can't remember him either. We just have pictures of them--paper grandpas."Uncle Tim frowned. "You have an awfully poor reason for wanting a grandpa," he said, and Astrid looked down at her feet. "Both of your grandpas are in heaven, Astrid. They might not be able to show you how much they love you in the same way Ella's grandpa can show her, but they gave you something much better than a trip to Florida."Astrid looked at her uncle with wide eyes. "They did?" Uncle Tim nodded. "Grandpa Jerry loved me in a way that helped me realize how much God loves me. He prayed for me throughout my life--and he prayed for you too, even if you weren't old enough to remember. He prayed that you would believe that Jesus died on the cross for you and trust Him as your Savior so you would be with Him forever." Uncle Tim smiled at Astrid. "I guess neither of your grandpas had a lot of money, but they had something much more important. Their greatest hope and prayer was that all their family members would recognize the depth of Jesus's love for them."Astrid gave her uncle a little smile. "I trust in Jesus," she said. "When Ella comes back from Florida, maybe I should tell her about my grandpas and how I can't wait to see them in heaven someday.""Good idea." Uncle Tim grinned. "Your grandpas may just be pictures to you now, but when you meet them in heaven, they won't be paper grandpas anymore." –Phyllis I. KlomparensHow About You?What do you value in your parents or grandparents? Is it the things they can give you in this life? Or have they taught you that, for Christians, the best is yet to come? Thank God for the Christians He's put in your life who show you His love and pray for you. Even if some of them aren't with you anymore, one day you'll be able to thank them too for pointing you to Jesus.Today's Key Verse:I thank my God every time I remember you. Bible Reading: Galatians 6:9-10; Philippians 1:4-6, 9-11"Are we going to tap all the trees today?" asked Soren as he helped Dad drill a hole into the trunk of a maple tree and insert a little pipe. "That will take forever!""Making maple syrup does take a long time, and it's hard work," said Dad. "But it's worth the effort." Once all the maple trees had buckets hanging from the pipes to collect the sap that would drip out during the week, they returned to the house and Soren slumped into a chair. "In another week or so, we'll have to collect all those buckets of sap," he said. "But we won't have syrup yet! First we'll have to dump the sap into that big container and build a fire under it and boil it for a long time. By the time the water is out of the sap, we'll probably have one little pail of syrup!" He sighed. "All that work for just a little syrup. It'd be a lot easier to just buy syrup instead of making it!""True," said Mom. "But it wouldn't be nearly as good. We're going for quality. Keep at it and we'll be eating the best pancakes ever!""Do not grow weary in doing good," said Dad.Soren smiled. "I know that Bible verse, but I don't think it's talking about making syrup.""I don't think so either," said Dad. "But maybe we can learn something if we compare making syrup with growing spiritually. As we patiently keep that fire going under the sap, we get good results--delicious maple syrup. And as God works in our hearts, helping us get to know Jesus better and show His love to others, He brings out good results too."Mom nodded. "As we make maple syrup this year, let's remember that God is doing similar work in us. We can trust Him to use the experiences of our lives to make us more like Jesus and grow in our relationship with Him. He isn't finished with any of us yet--He will patiently continue His work in us until the day we see Jesus face-to-face." –Nance E. KeyesHow About You?Are you struggling in your Christian walk through life? Do you do the same wrong things over and over or wish you felt closer to God? Being a Christian doesn't mean you'll always feel close to God or won't ever struggle with sin, but Jesus promises to always be with you and forgive you. He died and rose again to save you, and He will continue His work throughout your life. He began a good work in you when you first trusted in Him, and He promises to finish it.Today's Key Verse:He [God] who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus. (NIV) (Philippians 1:6)Today's Key Thought:Trust God for spiritual growth

1 Kings 19:1-4 Now Ahab told Jezebel everything Elijah had done and how he had killed all the prophets with the sword. 2 So Jezebel sent a messenger to Elijah to say, “May the gods deal with me, be it ever so severely, if by this time tomorrow I do not make your life like that of one of them.” 3 Elijah was afraid and ran for his life. When he came to Beershebain Judah, he left his servant there, 4 while he himself went a day’s journey into the wilderness. He came to a broom bush, sat down under it and prayed that he might die. “I have had enough, Lord,” he said. “Take my life; I am no better than my ancestors.” (NIV) 6 Habits To Owning Your Health 1. Own doing the practical things 1 Kings 19:5-7 Then he lay down under the bush and fell asleep. All at once an angel touched him and said, “Get up and eat.” 6 He looked around, and there by his head was some bread baked over hot coals, and a jar of water. He ate and drank and then lay down again. 7 The angel of the LORD came back a second time and touched him and said, “Get up and eat, for the journey is too much for you.” (NIV) 5. Own pursuing the presence of God 1 Kings 19:9-13 There he went into a cave and spent the night. And the word of the LORD came to him: “What are you doing here, Elijah?” 10 He replied, “I have been very zealous for the LORD God Almighty. The Israelites have rejected your covenant, torn down your altars, and put your prophets to death with the sword. I am the only one left, and now they are trying to kill me too.” 11 The LORD said, “Go out and stand on the mountain in the presence of the LORD, for the LORD is about to pass by.” Then a great and powerful wind tore the mountains apart and shattered the rocks before the LORD, but the LORD was not in the wind. After the wind there was an earthquake, but the LORD was not in the earthquake. 12 After the earthquake came a fire, but the LORD was not in the fire. And after the fire came a gentle whisper. 13 When Elijah heard it, he pulled his cloak over his face and went out and stood at the mouth of the cave. Then a voice said to him, “What are you doing here, Elijah?” (NIV) 6. The #1 Reason You’re Not Growing 1 Peter 1:23 For you have been born again, not of perishable seed, but of imperishable, through the living and enduring word of God. (NIV) 1 John 3:9 No one who is born of God will continue to sin, because God’s seed remains in them; they cannot go on sinning, because they have been born of God. (NIV) Galatians 5:16–23 So I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh. 17 For the flesh desires what is contrary to the Spirit, and the Spirit what is contrary to the flesh. They are in conflict with each other, so that you are not to do whatever you want. 18 But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law. 19 The acts of the flesh are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity and debauchery; 20 idolatry and witchcraft; hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions 21 and envy; drunkenness, orgies, and the like. I warn you, as I did before, that those who live like this will not inherit the kingdom of God. 22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law. (NIV) 9 Characteristics Of The Fruit Of The Spirit 1. Love: 2. Joy: 3. Peace: 4. Patience: 5. Kindness: 6. Goodness: Luke 6:27 “But to you who are listening I say: Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, (NIV) Titus 2:14 who gave himself for us to redeem us from all wickedness and to purify for himself a people that are his very own, eager to do what is good. (NIV) Romans 12:21 Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good. (NIV) Ephesians 2:10 For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do. (NIV) 7. Faithfulness 1 Corinthians 4:2 Moreover, it is required of stewards that they be found faithful. (ESV) Revelation 2:10 Do not be afraid of what you are about to suffer. I tell you, the devil will put some of you in prison to test you, and you will suffer persecution for ten days. Be faithful, even to the point of death, and I will give you life as your victor’s crown. (NIV) Matthew 25:21 The master was full of praise. ‘Well done, my good and faithful servant. You have been faithful in handling this small amount, so now I will give you many more responsibilities. Let’s celebrate together”. (NLT) 8. Gentleness  Matthew 11:29 Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. (NIV) Ephesians 4:2 Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love. (NIV) 2 Corinthians 10:1 By the humility and gentleness of Christ, I appeal to you—I, Paul, who am “timid” when face to face with you, but “bold” toward you when away! (NIV) Philippians 4:5 Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. (NIV) Titus 3:2 to slander no one, to be peaceable and considerate, and always to be gentle toward everyone (NIV) 9. Self-Control 2 Timothy 1:7 for God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control. (ESV) Titus 2:11–12 For the grace of God has appeared that offers salvation to all people. 12 It teaches us to say “No” to ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright and godly lives in this present age, (NIV) 1 Peter 4:7 The end of all things is at hand; therefore be self-controlled and sober-minded for the sake of your prayers. (ESV) John 15:1-10 “I am the true vine, and my Father is the gardener. 2 He cuts off every branch in me that bears no fruit, while every branch that does bear fruit he prunes so that it will be even more fruitful. 3 You are already clean because of the word I have spoken to you. 4 Remain in me, as I also remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me. 5 “I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing. 6 If you do not remain in me, you are like a branch that is thrown away and withers; such branches are picked up, thrown into the fire and burned. 7 If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you. 8 This is to my Father’s glory, that you bear much fruit, showing yourselves to be my disciples. 9 “As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. Now remain in my love. 10 If you keep my commands, you will remain in my love, just as I have kept my Father’s commands and remain in his love. (NIV) 1 Peter 1:14 So you must live as God’s obedient children. Don’t slip back into your old ways of living to satisfy your own desires. You didn’t know any better then. (NLT) 9 Ways To Remain So Your Fruit Grows 1. Remain in the word John 15:7 If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you. (NIV) 2. Remain in prayer Colossians 4:2 Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful. (NIV) 3. Remain in church Hebrews 10:25 And let us not neglect our meeting together, as some people do, but encourage one another, especially now that the day of his return is drawing near. (NLT) 4. Remain in small groups 5. Remain in serving 1 Peter 4:10 Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms. (NIV) 6. Remain in generosity 1 Corinthians 16:2 On the first day of every week, each one of you should set aside a sum of money in keeping with your income, saving it up, so that when I come no collections will have to be made. (NIV) 7. Remain in the love of God John 15:9 “As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. Now remain in my love. (NIV) 8. Remain in the pruning process John 15:1-2 “I am the true vine, and my Father is the gardener. 2 He cuts off every branch in me that bears no fruit, while every branch that does bear fruit he prunes so that it will be even more fruitful. (NIV) 9. Remain in obedience John 15:10 If you keep my commands, you will remain in my love, just as I have kept my Father’s commands and remain in his love. (NIV)

Bible Reading: Ephesians 5:1-2; Philippians 2:1-5"Mom! I don't want Sparky to leave!" exclaimed Sarah. "He's part of our family." Sparky was a service dog, and they had been fostering and training him until he was ready to leave and be rehomed. "Please let him stay," Sarah begged. "Why can't we keep him?"Mom gently held her daughter's hand. Sparky's soft brown eyes looked up at them both. He sat down beside them, wagging his tail, sensing they were troubled."I'm sorry, sweetheart, but no, we can't keep him. Sparky is a very special dog with an important job to do. We've been blessed to have him with us, but it's time for him to move on and be a blessing to someone who needs his help. Sarah stormed up to her bedroom. Sparky followed. Hugging him, she sobbed and said, "I'm going to miss you so much. I'll always love you." Then she whispered a prayer. "Dear Jesus, please help me do this." When James, the dog handler in charge, came to collect Sparky the next morning, Sarah's eyes were stinging and red."It's okay to cry," said James. "I know you're heartbroken about losing Sparky. You and your mom have done a wonderful job looking after him. Now, by letting him go, you're helping a blind man who needs him. Sparky will change his life, and you'll be free to foster and train another dog for someone else who needs help."Tears streaming down her face, Sarah waved goodbye to Sparky as he left.Once inside, Mom hugged her. "I'm so proud of you. You've been brave and unselfish. I know how difficult this is for you, but your sacrifice has given a man hope." Mom smiled at her. "That's like what Jesus did for us. He made a much bigger sacrifice when He died on the cross so we could have the hope of eternal life with Him.""I prayed and asked Him to help me do this, and He did," said Sarah. "But it still hurts." She dried her eyes. "Can we pray for Sparky and the blind man?"Mom nodded, and as they prayed, Sarah's heart was at peace. Even though letting go of Sparky was difficult, she knew Jesus would use him to help someone in need.-Cindy LeeHow About You?Have you ever made a sacrifice for someone? Though it can be very hard, letting go of something so someone else can be blessed by it is one way to show people God's love. God loves us so deeply that Jesus made the ultimate sacrifice on the cross so we could be saved and have eternal life. He can help you let go of something when it's hard so that you can bless others. Today's Key Verse:Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves. (NIV) (Philippians 2:3)Today's Key Thought:Trust God to help you bless others

Bible Reading: Philippians 4:11-13; Hebrews 13:5Heather opened Mom's bedroom door and whispered, "Mom, I need help packing for the beach.""What time is it?" Mom opened one eye."It's seven thirty. We have lots to do before Dad comes."Mom took a deep breath. "You're right."After breakfast, Heather and her mom packed, gathered beach gear, and picked snacks for the drive. "Your dad will be here soon," Mom said. "Go get dressed."Heather bit her lip. "Mom, I'm excited to go, but I don't want to leave you here alone.""I'll be fine, Heather. Besides, I won't be alone--Jesus is always with me. And He's with you too.""I know. But I'll miss you." Heather hugged Mom. "I liked it better when we went all together--you, Dad, and me.""I know, honey. But this is your dad's family vacation week, and you'll have a great time with your cousins. We'll have our vacation in two weeks."Heather and Dad were the last ones to arrive at the beach house. "It's official! Let the family vacation begin," Dad announced. Everyone cheered."I'll show you our room, Heather," said Megan. "All the boys are bunking in the loft."Heather chuckled. "That should be interesting--and noisy!" After unpacking, the girls headed to the beach. "I'm so glad we're all here," Megan said. "But it seems strange without your mom this year."Heather stared at the sand. "My mom and I will take our vacation in two weeks.""Two vacations--that's cool!" Megan said."Yeah, maybe. Now I have two birthday parties, two Christmas celebrations, and two homes. And as exciting as that might sound, I'd give anything for my parents not to be divorced." Heather paused. "And you know what's weird? When I'm with Mom or Dad having a great time, I sometimes feel guilty for having fun without the other one.""I never thought about that," said Megan. "I'm sorry, Heather."Heather sighed. "Divorce is really hard. I wish my parents were still together, but I'm trusting God to help me accept it. I memorized a Bible verse that says, 'I have learned to be content whatever the circumstances.' It helps me remember that Jesus is with me, giving me His strength and peace, and that I can be content in any situation because of Him." -Lynda BoucherHow About You?Do you have circumstances in your life you don't understand? Situations beyond your control? Perhaps your parents divorced, someone close to you died, or you just feel all alone. Many things in life are hard to understand. Remember that Jesus, who died to save you and has given you eternal life, is with you in your difficult situation. Trust Him to help you through it and to give you His peace and contentment.Today's Key Verse:I have learned to be content whatever the circumstances. Bible Reading: Philippians 2:1-18"I'm tired of this history book!" Akera slammed the book shut and flopped back on the couch. "Yeah! It's boring!" Ky looked up from the laptop and shared a look of misery with his sister. Mom sighed and rubbed her forehead. "Kids, I've already changed your history curriculum twice this year. Now it's time to cut the complaining and do the work." "But, Mom," Akera whined. "Can't we switch it one more time?" Mom shook her head. "We are finishing this book, and that's final. Has it occurred to you that it's probably not the curriculum but your attitudes that need to change?" She got up to pour herself some coffee. "Remember when we went to the planetarium last month?""Yeah," said Ky. "It was one of the coolest field trips ever!"Akera smiled thoughtfully. "My favorite part was that show about the stars--it was beautiful." "One of the nice things about homeschooling is we get to take field trips whenever we want," Mom said. "But that doesn't mean you get to change the curriculum whenever you want. And speaking of stars, do either of you happen to remember what Paul said about God's children being like stars?" Akera slid on a pair of sunglasses and took a selfie. "Not really, but I do look like a star!" Ky cackled as Mom stifled a giggle. "Ha-ha. Not that kind of star. In Philippians 2, Paul wrote that when we do things without grumbling, our lives shine like stars, showing the world that we are God's children." "Oh, I remember that now," Ky said. "Doesn't chapter two start with Paul talking about Jesus coming to earth and dying on the cross for us?" "Yes," said Mom. "That was the most selfless thing, wasn't it? And He did it willingly--without complaining."Ky tossed a pillow at Akera. "Guess we haven't been like stars today, have we?" Akera threw the pillow back. "I guess not. Even though we don't like history right now, we don't have to complain about it. We are God's children, and I want to show it by the way I live my life." Mom smiled. "You kids are pretty smart.""Yep," said Ky. "We have a good teacher." -Savannah ColemanHow About You?Do you often complain about things? When you feel like whining about something you don't want to do, it can help to remember what Jesus did for you. Out of love for us, He humbly came to earth as a baby in a smelly manger to grow up and die on the cross for our sins. Bible Reading: Philippians 2:1-11Carly stood on stage with the other shepherds at the church's Christmas play. She scowled at Miss Lena, her Sunday school teacher in the front row.Carly wanted to be Mary. She wanted to hold baby doll Jesus. Tessa, who had the role of Mary, wasn't even a good actress. Then Carly had an idea. When the angel came to tell them the good news of Jesus's birth, the shepherds calmly followed the star toward the stable on the other side of the stage--except Carly, who sprinted ahead.Tessa gasped. "Carly, what are you doing?""My name's not Carly!" Carly leaned toward Tessa's microphone. "My name is Mary, and you stole my baby. Give him back!"Carly tried to grab baby doll Jesus. Tessa backed into the cardboard stable, which crashed to the ground. A few of the little sheep actors started crying. Miss Lena ran onto the stage. "Consider this a brief intermission," she said to the church members. "Give us a minute to sort this out."Carly's mom stepped onto the stage as well. "Carly, what were you thinking?"Carly's stomach twisted with regret. "I…I don't know." She wanted to be the star. But instead, she'd ruined the play."Come sit with me for the rest of the play, Carly," Miss Lena said.Carly hung her head. "Okay."As Carly watched the rest of the play, she realized Tessa was a great Mary. The real Mary was humble and kind. She didn't think she was better than everyone else, like Carly just did.On the ride home, Carly said, "I was only thinking about myself with what I did today."Mom nodded. "You know, the Bible talks about putting others first. Jesus did that when He became human and died for our sins to save us. He did that for us because He loved us. And because we trust in Jesus, we can love others and live like Him. We can be joyful and content in whatever role we have.""Even if it's the role of a shepherd or a sheep?" Carly asked, and her mom nodded. "I want to love others like Jesus," Carly said. "And I can start by telling Tessa and Miss Lena I'm sorry." -Becca WierwilleHow About You?Have you ever fought to be the center of attention? Do you sometimes think so much about yourself that you forget about the people around you? We all have times when we can be selfish. But Jesus saved us from sin so we could live with love and unity, and He will help us put others before ourselves. Scripture: https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Philippians+1%3A21%2C+3%3A7-9&version=NIV (Philippians 1:21, 3:7-9) / Select Passages in Acts SHOW NOTES: Paul's life included many journeys – he persecuted believers in Jerusalem and his famous Road to Damascus experience! After Paul returned to Jerusalem, he continued to learn and grow in his new-found faith in Jesus. His entire life was changed! The purpose of his journey was rerouted, and he was now “called” to be a messenger of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. There is much to study and learn from Paul's three missionary journeys, as he reached many people and established churches in Asia Minor and Greece. Of the 27 books in the New Testament, 13 are attributed to Paul, and approximately half of the book of Acts deals with his life and works. Then, God allowed Paul to “sit on the shelf” in Caesarea for several years. He was a chosen instrument in God's hand and from our human viewpoint, it looked like Paul's ability and time were being wasted. But God's perspective is very different. Paul continued to share with others every time he had an opportunity. And he boldly stated, “For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain.” (https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Phil.+1%3A21&version=NIV (Phil. 1:21))  SONG: "To Live is Christ" - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pXL0dTzK5mc (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pXL0dTzK5mc) Coming! Bible Reading: Luke 12:16-24, 30-31; 1 Timothy 6:6-8"Lucu's food bowl is empty again, Ibu," Ayu called to her mother as she poured some seeds into the hamster's bowl. Lucu was Ayu's first pet, and she was determined to take good care of him. Seeing more food in his bowl, Lucu immediately ate some. True to his name, Lucu--which meant cute in Indonesian--tucked the seeds into his cheeks. Ayu giggled as Lucu continued to put more seeds in his mouth, giving him round, puffed-up cheeks. But then Lucu went to a secluded corner and buried the food in the bedding of his cage. This went on a few times until there were hardly any seeds left in the bowl. "Ibu, we need to go buy Lucu some more food--this bag is almost gone. And no wonder!" Ayu exclaimed. "He acts as if his food bowl won't ever be refilled. Doesn't he trust that I will take care of him? I always fill his bowl twice a day.""Yes, I know you do," Ayu's mom replied. "It's just that hamsters have a natural tendency to store their food away. You should only give him the food he needs for each meal, as hamsters tend to overeat by eating however much you give them." Ibu smiled at her daughter. "Don't we all behave like Lucu from time to time?""What do you mean, Ibu? I don't have that much space in my cheeks!" Ayu tried to imitate Lucu's puffed cheeks. Ibu chuckled. "What I mean is that we don't always trust God to continually take care of us. It's wise to save for rainy days, but often we go beyond that and hoard. We worry and hold on to stuff we want but don't actually need. Meanwhile, God knows exactly what we need and when we need it. Jesus sacrificed His life to make us God's children, and He promises to take care of us. We can trust Him to give us what we need when we need it."Ayu pondered this. "Kind of like how I'm supposed to portion Lucu's food so he won't overeat?""That's right," said Ibu. "God doesn't promise to give us everything we want, but we can trust Him to provide just enough at the right time." -Ruth SetyadiHow About You?Do you worry about not having enough? Bible Reading: Philippians 1:6; 2:12-16"I still can't get it!" Kylie exclaimed as she jumped into her mom's car. She'd just finished another rehearsal for a dance performance that would take place later that month. "What's wrong?" Mom asked as she pulled into traffic and headed home.Kylie sighed heavily. "We've been practicing this routine for two weeks, but there's still a tricky step sequence I fumble every time." Kylie watched trees go past her window. "Maybe I'll never get it." "Learning new things takes time. I know you're working hard," Mom replied as they continued traveling down the road. A minute later, she asked, "See that house over there?" "What house? Oh, the one that's still being built. Mom, it's not really a house yet. It's a bunch of wood and bricks--just materials," Kylie answered.Mom slowed the car so they could gaze at the construction site a bit longer. "It's a work in progress, yes. But it takes time to build a house--to make something good and important. If we rush, we might not get the results we want," Mom explained."Are you really talking about my routine, Mom? Not just the house?" Kylie asked, grinning."That's right. I've watched you learn difficult dances. Give yourself time, keep practicing, and I'm confident you'll learn it." Mom steered into the driveway. As they walked in the door, Kylie headed to the kitchen to help with dinner."Being patient with building something meaningful isn't just for houses and dance steps," Mom said as she took out a pan. "It's also something God tells us to do as we grow in Christ.""What do you mean?" asked Kylie."When we put our faith in Jesus to receive forgiveness and begin a relationship with Him, His Spirit starts working in us, making us more like Jesus."Kylie placed napkins on the table. "That takes time, right?""Yep," Mom said. "God doesn't rush in doing His good work in our lives. He has a purpose for us, and He's willing to take His time to accomplish it.""That house we saw and my dance routine--they're not finished yet. But they're on their way," Kylie mused."Just like God's children," Mom finished. -Allison Wilson LeeHow About You?Do you sometimes get frustrated at not learning a new skill quickly? Bible Reading: Exodus 20:7; Philippians 2:5-11Peggy sat on the porch step as tears trickled down her cheeks. "What's the matter, honey?" Mom asked as she sat down beside her."The Holden brothers started calling me names again. I was just walking past their house on my way to Jamie's and they started saying, 'There goes Miss Piggy.' They always make fun of my name when they see me. I'm Miss Piggy or Piggy Peggy or Peg Leg the Pirate to them.""I know that must hurt a lot," said Mom. "You know your name is extra special because you were named after your grandmother Peggy. She was such a kind, godly woman, and every time I say your name, it reminds me of her. It's sad those boys want to make fun of such a beautiful name."Peggy sniffled. "Sometimes I wish I had a different name." "Our names are important to us," Mom agreed. "When people make fun of our name or use it in a rude way, it can make us feel angry and upset. God knows how you feel, Peggy.""He does?" said Peggy.Mom nodded. "People use His name in disrespectful ways all the time. When they use the name of God or Jesus in a flippant way when they're surprised or upset, they aren't showing the proper honor His name deserves.""What's flippant?" asked Peggy."Flippant means not showing a respectful attitude. One of the Ten Commandments says, 'You shall not misuse the name of the Lord your God.' And then in the New Testament, Paul reminds us that one day, everyone will bow at the name of Jesus because His name is above all other names.""I guess God does understand how I feel when the boys make fun of my name. I really don't want to change my name. I just want them to stop making fun of it.""I do too," said Mom. "I think I'd better give Mrs. Holden a call. But remember, your name is special no matter what people say, and you have another name that's even more special.""I do?" asked Peggy. "What name is that?" "Christian," said Mom. "It's a name that means you belong to Jesus and have His goodness and love in your heart. When you show His love to others--even when they're mean to you--you're honoring His name." -Kendra AngleHow About You?Have you heard God's name used in a way that was disrespectful? Maybe you've even used it that way yourself. The Bible is very clear that God and His name deserve our respect. After He died and rose again to save us, Jesus was given the highest place of honor, and one day every person on earth will bow at His name. Respect His name when you speak it and also in the way you live as a Christian. Today's Key Verse:Therefore God exalted him [Jesus] to the highest place and gave him the name that is above every name. (NIV) (Philippians 2:9)Today's Key Thought:Honor God's name

Assembling words goes way back for Jon Edward Fugler. Growing up in Upstate New York, his first writing effort was to publish a neighborhood newspaper — which lasted one issue. In middle school, Jon printed and distributed a newsletter to his classmates and teachers reporting on his board game baseball league. In 1973, Jon came to know Christ after hearing a college football coach speak on how to be born again. This event would change the course of his life and writing. He spent over 30 years in Christian radio, turning out script after script, beginning as the radio writer for Dr. Bill Bright, founder of Campus Crusade for Christ. From there, he wrote scores of scripts that would impact the hearts of radio listeners across the country. Jon's writing extended into print when, for a decade, he published the Christian Times newspaper, connecting believers with what God was doing in their community. Journaling has been Jon's habit for over four decades. He sometimes looks back on those writings to inspire him for his current works. His conversational style connects with readers on a personal level. Writing from his heart, he hopes readers' lives will be different through their relationship with Jesus Christ. “It's not about performing for Jesus,” says Jon. “It's about living with Jesus.” He was influenced by author Skye Jethani, who teaches that life over, under or for God leads to defeat. Life withGod is what every person desires. Jon sensed that developing a habit of doing life with God was missing for believers. That's what inspired him to write his devotional series, starting with Life with God: 30 Days of Joy. “I feel that if someone can immerse themselves in one aspect of the Christian life for 30 days, it will change them,” says Jon. “This series is not about behavior. It's all about relationship. The reader's relationship with God. Growth happens when a person lets God flood their life.” Jon's passion is that every person on earth has access to the gospel. He is active today in media ministry to the world. He and his wife live in North Carolina. They have three children and eight grandchildren. -How Jon came to faith at the age of 16...4:40 -The hard-charging high achiever for God hits a brick wall...8:25 -Embracing a mindset of "missionalism"...10:25 -What does it mean to really know Christ personally?...14:15 -Signs that our intimacy w/ God is waning...16:20 -Developing a relationship with God that supersedes a high performance mentality...21:15 -Love is spelled T.I.M.E...25:25 -How to cultivate fresh faith in God...27:45 -We won't truly pursue God until this happens...30:20 Resources mentioned: -Fresh Faith 24/7, Jon's website -https://amzn.to/32EE7xb (Radical) by David Platt -https://www.amazon.com/Reimagining-Way-You-Relate-God/dp/1595553797 (With: Reimagining How You Relate to God) by Skye Jethani -https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=philippians+3%3A8-10&version=NIV (Philippians 3:8-10) -https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=james+1%3A22&version=NIV (James 1:22) -https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=john+15&version=NIV (John 15) Call to action: To find out more about Todd and his coaching program for men, find him on the web at https://my.captivate.fm/dashboard/shows/toddisberner.com (toddisberner.com) To learn more about Wendie and her Visibly Fit program, visit wendiepett.com All the links you need to subscribe to the podcast are at both our websites!
