Hebrews 12:5-11 gives us a framework for the question, What does biblical discipline actually look like? In this message, Pastor Nate walks through God's Word to show that discipline is not about anger, control, or punishment — it's about love, discipleship, and preparing the next generation to follow Jesus. Pastor Nate digs into Deuteronomy 6:5-9 to discover how God — the Creator of both kids and parents — designed parenting to be. God has given parents the authority and responsibility to raise the next generation, but many of our parenting strategies have slowly become shaped more by the world than by the Word. Has culture subconsciously influenced the way we parent? Does our parenting strategy truly line up with God's Word? Before listening to this message, take a moment to pray and ask God to give you an open heart that is ready to receive His truth about parenting.  This message could revolutionize your parenting, and revolutionize your kids!Welcome to the Liberty Church online experience!_If you would like more information about Liberty, get on our email list or just simply want to get better connected, text "INFO" to 478.217.7563 _Have you made a decision to follow Jesus? What's happening is called co-dysregulation—two nervous systems stuck in survival mode together. This episode matters because when kids struggle to regulate emotions, they rely on your calming presence to learn how to do it. When you practice co-regulation parenting, you're not just stopping meltdowns—you're teaching your child lifelong emotional skills for resilience and self regulation. In this episode, you'll learn:What co regulation really means (and what it isn't)Why kids mirror your nervous system—even without wordsPractical ways to pause, reset, and co regulate in difficult momentsWhy does my child's meltdown make me lose it too? When your child is in distress, your nervous system naturally reacts. In his message at Cherry Hills Community Church, Pastor Gary Thomas emphasized that parenting is more often caught than taught. He explained that children learn far more from the behavior they observe than from the words they hear. Parents, he said, must become the example they want their children to follow—living out the values, integrity, and faith they hope to see reflected in their kids. Pastor Gary encouraged moms and dads to focus less on perfect lectures and more on consistent, authentic living. Ultimately, he reminded the congregation that the most powerful parenting tool is a life well-lived.

Are we protecting our kids or holding them back? In this episode, Justin talks with Lenore Skenazy about the unintended consequences of overprotection and why kids need to experience risk to build confidence, resilience, and essential life skills. From eliminating stairs in homes to constant parental surveillance, we examine how fear-based parenting is shaping modern childhood—and what we can do to change it. KEY POINTS: The growing trend of designing homes for maximum parental surveillance and risk elimination. Why removing all risks from a child’s life can have long-term negative effects on their mental health and independence. The difference between reasonable safety precautions (e.g., seat belts, helmets) and excessive protection that stifles growth. How parental fear contributes to anxiety, depression, and dependence in kids. Practical ways to introduce independence and calculated risk into children’s lives. QUOTE OF THE EPISODE:"Fear doesn’t prevent death, but it prevents life." KEY INSIGHTS FOR PARENTS: Removing every possible risk doesn't make kids safer—it makes them less capable. Letting children navigate small risks (like climbing stairs, using a knife, or walking to school) helps them build real-world skills. Worrying can feel like an action, but it doesn’t change reality—teaching skills and fostering independence does. Kids don’t need a risk-free life; they need a chance to learn, adapt, and grow. RESOURCES MENTIONED: Let Grow – Free resources for fostering childhood independence. Supervision Not Required podcast – A new podcast on raising confident, capable kids. ACTION STEPS FOR PARENTS: Identify one small area where you can give your child more independence. Teach them practical skills rather than avoiding potential risks. Shift your mindset from "How do I eliminate all risks?" to "How do I prepare my child to handle them?" Connect with other parents who value childhood independence to build confidence in your approach. See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

SEASON 10 The Learning Leader Daily Leadership Tips and Discussions Today we continue the topic of discussion about how Team Leaders need to be consistent and have cohesion, but today I take it home and talk about the importance of parents being consistent.  Have you ever wondered why it's so difficult for a group of leaders to norm or be consistent? Well, it's because every leader is unique and has their own style and way of leading their team. By coming together and forming a bond in your organizations leadership team, you can begin norming better than ever before. I use the DISC assessment with every client and team I work with and have found it to be a real game-changer for the entire team. This is certainly no different when you have a group of leaders together. In order for them to work together in unison, they have to begin by knowing each other very well. That's where the DISC comes in, so I will mix the DISC behavioral styles in throughout this series. I am a DISC Certified Trainer and Consultant and have worked with behavioral styles for over 20 years. I am certified through the John Maxwell Leadership Team and have worked with hundreds of teams. If you are interested in having me work with your team leaders or if you want to purchase a DISC assessments for yourself and your team, please contact me via email at Paul@CLCTeam.com If you want to dive in deeper, here are some great books to read and study about the behavioral styles: “Surrounded by Idiots” by Thomas Erikson https://amzn.to/3yZ4Jwk “Full Spectrum Success: Living and Leading in True Color” by Jacob Adamo https://amzn.to/3Mcsnsd “The Four Tendencies” by Gretchen Rubin https://amzn.to/4ctegtq “Wired That Way” by Marita Littauer. https://amzn.to/3SNW8n4 “Personality PLUS” by Florence Littauer. https://amzn.to/3X05WNi Thank you for listening. I'm Paul Grau Jr., the host of this show, and I'm excited about Season 10. This season will focus on “The Learning Leader” and/or as we refer to it here at The CLC Team, “The Expanding Leader. Every episode will primarily focus on the lifelong journey of expanding your knowledge of leadership, and I will try to give you a daily takeaway to put what you learn into action. My goal is that you learn something that you can take immediate action on, and see how powerful expanding your leadership can be.   Please listen daily (Mon – Friday) as Paul focuses on not only giving tips about how to be a great leader, but also a leader who is respected, a leader who people want to follow, a leader who can confidently navigate their way through both personal and professional challenges, a leader who is not afraid to share their faith while living it out, a leader who knows his/her purpose and lives to fulfill that purpose every day, and a leader who has no regrets! As always, I value your feedback and comments, especially your perspectives and opinions. Please share them with me by emailing them to Paul@CLCTeam.com  Lots of new stuff to come... please consider subscribing, sharing with a friend, and giving me a review on whatever platform you listen on.  Have a great day and Lead Well! “Run To Your Challenges!”
