What makes you feel stuck right now? How do you tackle time-consuming tasks? Today, Jay sits down with Grammy-nominated rapper, multi-platinum artist, and first-time author, Big Sean. This special episode marks Sean’s third appearance on the show, but this time, he’s here to share deeper insights into mental health, purpose, and his debut book, Go Higher, set to release in January 2025. During the conversation, Big Sean reflects on his personal battles with anxiety, depression, and letting go of control. He shares the transformative role of spiritual practices in his life and how they inspired him to write a book that offers tools for self-care, growth, and purpose. Sean opens up about one of the toughest lessons he's ever had to learn — accepting the things he can't change — and how that acceptance became his pathway to peace and clarity. Jay and Sean also explore the power of "separating self from success," where Sean explains why money isn’t the true measure of success. Instead, he defines success as the feeling of living in alignment with your purpose and positively impacting others. In a vulnerable moment, Sean discusses the grief of experiencing a miscarriage and how he and his partner found light in the darkness. He also opens up about his journey with fatherhood, the process of quitting Adderall, and how he manages trauma through intentional strategy and meditation. From music to mindfulness, Sean reflects on his evolution as an artist, a man, and now, an author. In this interview, you'll learn: How to Redefine Success on Your Own Terms How to Use Radical Acceptance to Overcome Life’s Challenges How to Separate Self-Worth from Wealth and Achievement How to Attract Purpose Instead of Chasing It How to Embrace Spiritual Growth for Mental Clarity and Peace Every challenge you face holds the seed of transformation. When you accept your reality and stop resisting, you open yourself up to new opportunities for growth. Let Big Sean’s wisdom guide you on your journey to go higher. When I first crossed paths with Mario from Idaho, a father who's taken the reins of his children's education, I knew his story held depth beyond the lessons of textbooks. Our chat unveils a world where the heart of learning beats within the home's four walls, and the curriculum extends to life's complex questions. Mario's resolve to homeschool was kindled by his skepticism towards public education and the profound realization that maybe, just maybe, there's more to schooling than what meets the eye.In an age where history's narratives are as varied as the sources presenting them, Mario and I traverse the contentious topics like the Civil War and the shifting tides of America's ideologies. From Ron Paul's influence to the potency of personal responsibility and property rights, the conversation is a mosaic of critical thought. We reflect on the art of steering our children towards truth amidst a sea of bias, nurturing independent minds poised to shape their destinies. Finally, Mario and I ponder the fabric of family life, with social security's threads tugging at the traditional tapestry. We explore the impact of media and government policies on young intellects and the sacred task of parenting. Infused with personal tales, our dialogue invites you to witness the beauty and trials of a homeschooling journey—where every day is as much a lesson for the children as it is for the father forging future citizens, thinkers, and leaders.Teach Your Child to Read in 100 Easy LessonsWould you like to help me keep this podcast going?? One of the real tragedies of dealing with behaviorally disordered children is when you see everybody blaming each other. The parent blames the teacher, the teacher blames the parent, the child blames both the teacher and the parents, and it goes on and on. I've seen many parents get stuck in battles that don't help their children. Is the way you learned to read the way you should teach your child? If you're like me, you learned to read with a GIANT stack of flashcards and some leveled easy reader books. But is this really the best way to teach your child? After this class you'll know... - What to put on the flashcards so your child will have 90% less of them to learn (and how to make your child beg you to practice them instead of the other way around) - The secret skill that helps kids learn to read words instead of guessing (your reading curriculum probably doesn't include it, and this is what many kids with Dyslexia are missing) - The biggest mistake parents make when choosing books for their kids that slows down the process of learning to read Join the Homeschool Reading Community on Facebook https://www.facebook.com/groups/469213028355642

When you're becoming conscious of your menstrual cycle, and how much it influences you, and how much healing there is possible when we reclaim our cycle, it's entirely normal to want a better experience for your child when they start their periods. You don't want her to have to wait until she's this age to figure it all out piece by piece, and you hope she doesn't feel disconnected, distrusting or even disgusted by her body and cycle. But since you weren't given much support or empowering information when you had your menarche (first period), you're at a loss at to how to really talk to your child in advance, so she is supported, prepared and confident in advance, and never has to struggle or suffer alone. So to support you to have conversations with your child at any age, I'm sharing a lot of tips, knowledge and wisdom that you need to know to support your child - as well as ways to support yourself as a parent.  I want you to feel so confident and at ease to have what are traditionally uncomfortable conversations, and turn them into beautiful healing and bonding opportunities for you and your child. Inside I'm walking you through ways to share with children of different ages from young children, tweens and pre-pubescent children, through to pubescent children and teens. I hope this helps you turn what's been traditionally uncomfortable conversations into beautiful moments of bonding, and learning and healing for yourself as well as your child. To take the next step on your journey here's the links I shared in the show: Making HerStory, the one-moon self-healing menarche and womb journey,Subscribe for your free adult cycle guide,First Moon Guide ebook: download and print this colourful, illustrated age-appropriate resource your child can refer to again and again, First Moon Circle Facilitator Training: enrol by November 17th to become a children's menstrual educator yourself in 2024. As Scott Reames, the keeper of Nike's history for three decades, recounts, "a day in 1977 when [Rob] Strasser was purportedly in a fit of pique that employees were losing sight of the company's values, he stormed into his office and pounded out on his typewriter what became a list of 10 bullet points that he felt were the central core of who/what Nike was. He slammed the sheet of paper on the copying machine, made dozens of duplicates and then taped them on office doors and put them on cubicle desks all over the building."This week, Kevin and Stewart circle back to the list to discuss the ten principles at Nike, assess their corporate viability, and weave in and out of application scenarios for the construction industry.  As you listen, figure out where you can take action on one of these principles and turn the dial somewhere in your life to continue the journey of accomplishing something great.  || Show Notes ||*** Intro Excerpted From Acquired's Nike episode, hosted by Ben Gilbert and David Rosenthal ***Scott Reames, LinkedIn, available at https://bit.ly/455BIds (last visited August 10, 2023)."Teach Your Child to Ride a Bike," REI Expert Advice (https://bit.ly/3OxAEIb) (last visited August 10, 2023).Ben Gilbert and David Rosenthal, "Nike," Acquired, available at https://spoti.fi/47ogQ2v."The Man Who Saved Nike," Willamette Week (April 8, 2023), available at https://bit.ly/47s0wh3 (last visited August 10, 2023).|| Connect with Us || Check out all our episodes on all major streaming platforms, and further engagement with the 17Twenty crew on social media at:https://17twenty.buzzsprout.com/https://www.linkedin.com/company/17twentyhttps://www.instagram.com/17twentypodcastGrab your copy of the Mountain Mover Manual: How to Live Intentionally, Lead with Purpose, and Achieve Your Greatest Potential, by Kevin Careyhttps://amzn.to/441OPeH
