Introduction to Dev Gadhvi (0:28) Today, we are going to have a very interesting discussion with Dev Gadhvi. Dev has a very inspirational story — I will request him to introduce himself and share a little bit about his story. But he's one of the leading entrepreneurs, mentors, and coaches, who help 1000s and 1000s of people around the globe, find their passion and build a business around their passion. So welcome. Very excited to have you here. Highlights (1:29) I was brought up in Adipur Kutch Gujrat. While growing up, the first 20 years were very difficult, didn't have the money or resources to get an English medium education. The next phase of my life was 16 years, which was typically a nine-to-five life. And I started developing my skills in sales, marketing, branding, and book writing, that phase got me to the third phase of life. That's when I met my first mentor Grant Cardone who gave me a new perspective.(14:02) …90% of businesses fail in the first five years, then the remaining 9% out of 10% fail in the next five years And there's a common pattern for that — the root cause of businesses failing is a lack of clarity, mission, and vision. Most of them started because they want to copy somebody. Let me just ride the wave you know, everybody is going into crypto, NFT, and so on. You need to be unique in order to win — how can you be you? Most people just focus on demand, what does the market want? Let me just do that. They're not passionate about it. They may or may not have skills, that's why they fail. So knowing who you are, what is your mission, and what is your vision — makes yous unique. Because businesses can be similar but you are unique. Our world is filled with people telling us they are “Doers,” the kind of person who gets things done. Most of these people believe it is true. You may be one of them. But have you ever taken the time to define what a “doer” is? Some people think it’s all about being busy. Dev Gadhvi used to think that way. The son of a truck driver from a small town in India, Dev was raised to belief that the key to success was hard work. His father instilled this work ethic in Dev at an early age, and in the traditional sense it served him well. Dev started at the bottom and worked his way up the corporate ladder. But something was missing. He found himself waiting for Friday’s knowing the weekend was coming. After thirteen years of doing what he’d been told, Dev decided there had to be more, so he quit his job and started his own business. Today Dev is a best selling author (his book is called 80% Mindset 20%Skills), a TEDx Speaker, and bills himself as India’s 1st and #1 Passionpreneur. How did Dev do it? He realized that being a doer was about more than hard work. He started by investing time and money in his own personal development. He read vociferously, purchased professional development programs from people like Grant Cardone and Dab Lok, a created a Doer Mindset. In this episode Dev shares with us the things he’s learned on his journey and why he believes anyone can create the life they way. Have trouble discovering what your passions are? In this episode you'll be inspired to start finding out what you're good at, enjoy doing and how it can bring value to the world. Passion can create a life of fulfilment, rather than fleeting happiness. Special Guest: the Passionpreneur, Moustafa Hamwi (Dubai) Moustafa Hamwi started his career in Dubai as a telesales operator, eventually working his way up starting several entrepreneurial ventures that became businesses worth US$15 million in less than 4 years. He was also heavily involved in the nightlife scene, which lead to him becoming stressed, depressed and anxious. Moustafa then consulted for the government of Abu Dhabi, yet even with his career booming, he still felt empty. That was the beginning of his personal development journey. This yearning triggered a one-way trip to India where he spent time in the Himalayas with a Swami who had lived in caves for 13 years. His trip changed his life and woke him up to answer the questions: If this was it…did my life matter? What difference have I made to this world? Did I fully live what was truly meaningful to me? Did I do the best I can with all what I had?

Stage One Startup: Interviews with Influential Entrepreneurs & Innovative Startups
This week's guest: Paul Higgins Today, we have an episode that’s perfect for anyone who has transitioned (or is thinking about transitioning) from the corporate world into entrepreneurship. If you’re looking for support or guidance on how to do this and which direction to take, this is the episode for you! Paul Higgins, who hails from Australia, offers his inspirational story. He left the corporate world, in which he had worked for Coca-Cola, in 2011 to become an entrepreneur. For the next five years he fumbled and made mistakes, which gives him unique insight into being able to help others who are making the transition. Eventually he joined a mastermind group, and immediately saw results. He then turned to fill a niche: helping other people like him with their journeys from corporate roles to success as entrepreneurs. He does this primarily through his Facebook community, Build Live Give. And if all that weren’t impressive enough already, keep in mind that Paul achieved all of this while battling a hereditary and fairly serious health condition (which he’ll describe in this episode).
