In this compelling episode of the Faith Forward Podcast, Pastor Rob McCoy, Pastor Micah Stephens, and Garrett Backstrom dive into a thought-provoking discussion that begins with a reflection on a historic public Cabinet meeting opened with a prayer in Jesus' name. The trio expresses gratitude for a White House leader who humbly submits to Christ's authority in decision-making, setting the stage for a deeper exploration of marriage within the Christian faith. From there, the conversation naturally flows into an inspiring examination of the roles of husbands and wives, emphasizing how mutual submission to the Lord empowers them to serve each other, their children, and their shared future with grace and purpose. Faith is much more than just know about God and believing that God can, it's a belief that God can and will do it for us that in turn moves us to act. The Word of God is Power! That power is released into our lives through faith. Without faith, much, if not most of what God wants to do in us and for us will lie unused, and unappropriated.
My name is Gerald J. Zgabay. From the heart of Waco, Texas, I've cultivated a diverse identity: a seasoned banking professional, an accomplished author of two enlightening books, and the curator of the compelling 'The Sobering Faith Newsletter'. But my most cherished role? Being a husband to my incredible wife for over two decades and a father to two remarkable children, blessed to us through the gift of adoption. Together, my wife and I delve deep into speaking on many issues - from the intricacies of marital challenges, the shadowy influence of pornography on the sanctity of marriage, the journey of rebuilding trust, to the beauty of grace and the profound journey of adoption. Our shared experiences have shaped us and equipped us with a wellspring of wisdom and insights. We're a couple rich in life lessons and understanding, eager to share and inspire. Our mission? As this episode is raw real and live. The host teresa just gets down to business and talks about. Are we still praying and seeking God‘s face. As she speaks about her life as always, she shares what's going on in the Bible and where we could seek refuge by reading Daniel, five and six, and so much more in the Bible. Come and have a listen to a simple, profound set of words on how just having faith and trusting in God and moving forward, will change your life. Sitting at the window and speaking with God and Daniel and his story in the Bible had the lions got their mouth shut, and God took care of him, even when the world told him what he could not do. So listen and pray, and understand that this podcast is filled with nuggets of trusting in the Lord, and no matter what you're going through God will provide always --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/teresa-guffanti/support
In the previous message, we found that God answers "Yes" to Scriptural prayers. That means that we are to pray based on what God reveals to be His will, as revealed in the Bible. In today's sermon, I am giving an example of that kind of prayer. In 1st Thessalonians 3:10-13, Paul is praying for the people of the church in Thessalonica. And he is praying for three things for them; An increasing faith, an abounding love, and a growing hope. Those are three things that we can pray for ourselves, and other Christians, that we can be assured that God will answer "Yes."

Mark 9:14-2914 When they came to the other disciples, they saw a large crowd around them and the teachers of the law arguing with them. 15 As soon as all the people saw Jesus, they were overwhelmed with wonder and ran to greet him.16 “What are you arguing with them about?” he asked.17 A man in the crowd answered, “Teacher, I brought you my son, who is possessed by a spirit that has robbed him of speech. 18 Whenever it seizes him, it throws him to the ground. He foams at the mouth, gnashes his teeth and becomes rigid. I asked your disciples to drive out the spirit, but they could not.”19 “You unbelieving generation,” Jesus replied, “how long shall I stay with you? How long shall I put up with you? Bring the boy to me.”20 So they brought him. When the spirit saw Jesus, it immediately threw the boy into a convulsion. He fell to the ground and rolled around, foaming at the mouth.21 Jesus asked the boy's father, “How long has he been like this?”“From childhood,” he answered. 22 “It has often thrown him into fire or water to kill him. But if you can do anything, take pity on us and help us.”23 “‘If you can'?” said Jesus. “Everything is possible for one who believes.”24 Immediately the boy's father exclaimed, “I do believe; help me overcome my unbelief!”25 When Jesus saw that a crowd was running to the scene, he rebuked the impure spirit. “You deaf and mute spirit,” he said, “I command you, come out of him and never enter him again.”26 The spirit shrieked, convulsed him violently and came out. The boy looked so much like a corpse that many said, “He's dead.” 27 But Jesus took him by the hand and lifted him to his feet, and he stood up.28 After Jesus had gone indoors, his disciples asked him privately, “Why couldn't we drive it out?” 29 He replied, “This kind can come out only by prayer. Do you think it's possible to connect coffee beans extracted from cat poop to reflections on Holy Week? SPOILER ALERT: it's not. But we try anyway. Holy Week is great and it gives us that necessary reset to put our lives back in proper order so that we can enter more deeply into a relationship with God. Show notes: Cat poop coffee comes from the civet, and is properly called Kopi Luwak. We are willing to try it. Lex orandi, lex credendi, lex vivendi is a Latin phrase meaning “The law of faith is the law of belief is the law lived.” The way we pray profoundly influences what we believe, and our belief in turn, teaches us how we are to live.
