Pouring Out Perfume Podcast * Unapologetic and Authentic Storytelling for Christian Women Finding Hope. * Do you feel hopelessness and a lack of direction in your life? Are depression and anxiety making it impossible to enjoy God’s promises? Do you have dreams you want to achieve, but self-worth and identity keep holding you back? My friend, we need YOU here! This semi-weekly podcast shares real personal stories from everyday women and men who have ultimately transformed their lives through faith, grit, drive, and unyielding hope. The fantastic humans on this podcast have finally overcome past trauma, anxiety, and depression and live a life full of purpose and direction through Christ Jesus. Finding healing and your true identity can be difficult, but know there is hope in every step you take moving forward. Throughout each episode, you will be given actionable advice, guidance, and encouragement to strengthen your faith and find your joy. This podcast uses the truth that we can do all things through Christ, who strengthens us. Listen to guests share their truth of God’s unwavering love and faithfulness. You are never alone, my sweet friend. You are welcome here and invited to come alongside me as I interview and meet some remarkable people. I promise you will be encouraged, full of hope, inspired, and guided in this community of Christians. For over half my life, I dealt with debilitating depression and anxiety from sexual trauma. I was a Christian but never felt worthy enough to be loved by God. I was always full of shame and guilt, and that kept my joy and peace in a forever battle to win over my mind. No matter how many friends I had, I always felt alone and unwanted. I self-medicated with alcohol for years and had terrible romantic relationships, trying to find my self-worth in anything besides my true identity in Christ Jesus. I finally realized that to be free from depression, anxiety, and pain, I would have to submit my life fully to God. Doesn’t that seem counter-intuitive? Become a slave to be free? But it finally all clicked. As I was at my†rock bottom,†the revelation that I couldn’t keep doing this my way and that I needed Jesus to take control finally hit me. Since then, I have given all I have to Christ, and he lit a fire and ignited my mission. Helping to save other women stuck in sinful bondage and help set them free is my ministry. I have studied trauma, anxiety, depression, shame, guilt, and hopelessness. I have prayed and found scripture and teachings on the promises of healing, hope, peace, love, and joy. I want to share every knowledge I have consumed for this ministry to help you and other women along their journey. I am using this podcast to bring hope and remind you that you are worthy, cherished, and deeply loved! There is a plan and a calling in your life, and we are all on this wild ride together. This will be the final episode of POP for now. I am not sure if it will ever return or continue. I was offered a full-time opportunity that I could not turn down. Unfortunately, with the time and work it takes to create an episode, there are not enough hours in a day/week to do both. So, I am saying goodbye to the podcasting world. Thank you all so very much for this gift of sharing your testimonies and for listening to the podcast. This has been a dream and I know that Christ has received all the glory from it! In Hope, KaryAnn Wilcox

If I had met her 20 years ago, I probably wouldn't have kissed so many frogs during my single years. I may have met Prince Charming early on, saving me from numerous horrific dates and unmentionable mistakes. In the episode we gab about how growing up with divorced parents made her idolize the "perfect marriage." One that she assumed she would have as a young adult. After multiple breakups, causing her to spiral into depression and anxiety attacks, she put finding love aside and just lived a fun single lifestyle, dating casually but nothing she put much effort into. Realizing that her heart needed more, she asked God for help. In answering her request, she found that growing closer to Him was the only way to fill her cup. Having Christ be her focus, God pulled her into a relationship and eventually marriage with a man she met at church. She had found her Prince Charming, and they were blessed with a marriage that had God at the center. Selina Almovodar Email: selina@selinaalmodovar.com https://selinaalmodovar.com
Sara Jiminez was 16 when she met her ex-boyfriend. The first few years were full of young love, unicorns and fairytales. Bliss was everywhere until Sara began to feel manipulated and controlled by his actions and words. The relationship soon became toxic, and the final straw was Sara finding out that he had been seeing another woman for over a year, the same time he was dating Sara. Breaking it off with the loser, she became jaded and indignant towards romantic relationships. Her faith in men dwindled, and the plans of having a long-lasting marriage, like her parents, had disappeared. Years later, she felt like she wanted some lovin' and decided to message a guy from MySpace. For young pups, MySpace was the Original Social Media Platform long before Facebook, TikTok, or Instagram. She planned a "Netflix & Chill" with the handsome gentlemen, and when they met, Sara knew there was so much more to the man standing before her. Long story short, they fell MADLY in love, got married, had a darling son, and fulfilled the happily ever after we all dream of. God is the redeemer; He can make all things new. He took Sara's broken heart and past and renewed her faith in love. He blessed her with more than she could have ever imagined, and she wants to use her gifts and knowledge to help other Christians. Sara is now the host of the Purposefully Planned Mom Life podcast, where she helps the overwhelmed Christian momma create more balance by planning and journaling. Nine months after Christina Perera got married, she became unbelievably sick. She was unable to eat and was so exhausted she could only sleep. Her husband took her to the Emergency Room, where they found Multiple Myeloma after several tests. Four other Autoimmune Diseases began to present themselves through the rest of that month. The treatments immediately started for Christina and were horrific for her. In her suffering, she had a friend pray for her to experience the baptism of the Holy Spirit and the Presence of God. Tears and peace came over her, and she knew He would never leave or forsake her. Treatments continued, and her faith and hope burned brighter and brighter. A short time later, Christina was pulled to a Holy Spirit Conference; a friend began to command healing over her body and her immune system. Christina describes it as a volt of electricity flowing through her body, a sensation she had never felt before or since. From that moment on, her body was completely healed. A couple of years later, she went in to get a physical, and it so happened to be the original doctor who found her autoimmune diseases and questioned if she was ever treated. He asked her to get it tested again because he wasn't sure it was healed, and everything came back as free and clear of any diseases or illness. Christina has now become an Apostolic Healer, and her mission is to help all who are sick physically and spiritually. In this episode, she offers keys to healing anything that ails you through the power of Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit. I had the amazing opportunity to interview Daisy Paige. This woman is a fighter and brings some major awareness to MSA. Hear her incredible episode and drop her an email with a note of special encouragement. Daisy Paige: I am the author of Unexpected Moments with a foreword by Kirk Cameron that shares my life story. I have been happily married to someone I've known since kindergarten for thirteen years. I was diagnosed with a rare terminal neurological disorder known as MSA or multiple system atrophy and only 4 out of 100,000 people are diagnosed with it in the US. I want to inspire others to know they're not alone no matter what they are going through. God will never put you through more than you can handle if you have faith. There were times when I didn't want to or almost didn't want it but it was by the Grace of God that I did. I am also looking to create awareness for MSA and 10% of my proceeds go to the charity researching a cure for it. Could you imagine the devastation of finding out that your spouse had cheated multiple times on you and with numerous women, starting when you were just engaged? Yeah, that would be quite the test of love and forgiveness. Kate Conwell had a mountain in front of her. She could take all of her husband's belongings and throw them out the window onto the lawn and tell him to kick rocks, or she could remember the forgiveness and grace our heavenly father repeatedly shows us and choose love. Of course, she chose love, or we wouldn't be here listening to how she overcame such a horrible betrayal, but how did she decide to look beyond what her husband did and continue to stay married to him? The best news is that no matter what, there is always HOPE. There is always LOVE. There is always PEACE. No matter the circumstances, Jesus is always in his unfailing love, waiting to restore us. Kate and her husband reconciled their marriage and are going on 16 years strong. They have a ministry of helping couples navigate through infidelity and are turning their past into a rock-solid future with their faith and trust in God. Beth Runkle's husband, Bryan, served in the Air Force for 25 years. During that time, Beth was an unbelievably supportive spouse, sacrificing along with her husband while he served to protect our amazing country. Military life is not easy for the soldier or their spouse and families. It is a world that few of us civilians could comprehend. Bryan and Beth battled with primary and secondary infertility, and the experience was devastating. They were unsure at one point that God's plan was for them to h ave a child or children of their own. Reaching out to the adoption agencies, they found a precious baby boy and absolutely fell in love with him. They were ecstatic to have their precious baby and put their plans for more children into God's hands. He answered their prayers when they least expected and Beth became pregnant and had a darling baby girl. Although they wanted a giant plethora of children of their own, God had different plans when he put Beth into a ministry of helping female cadets and young military spouses. As she and her husband began guiding and assisting the younger generations through military life and marriage life, it became very apparent to both of them that God had blessed them with hundreds of spiritual children. The love and connection that Beth has with those she has mentored and ministered to has surpassed her dream of having those children of her own. She has more children than she ever imagined, and the number continues to grow all the time. God is so very faithful and so wonderful in His ways. I encourage you to reach out to someone in the military or someone who has served and thank them for their sacrifice and service. You never would have guessed that Marin Canaday suffered from obsessive-compulsive disorder growing up. In Elementary School, it began with her being a complete worry wort and people pleaser. Shame would immediately overtake her little heart if she felt she had done something wrong or imperfect, holding her thoughts captive and increasing her fear of messing things up. In Junior High, her OCD morphed into being consumed by germs, and she started compulsive hand washing, among other sterilizing idiosyncrasies. Volleyball and studying distracted her mind long enough to give her a reprieve from the OCD monster within her. She excelled at both volleyball and academics and went on to become a collegiate athlete, team captain, all-American, and National Champion. Once school and volleyball were a thing of the past, and there was nothing left to distract Marin, she was left with trying to fend off symptoms of OCD. She married a wonderful man and began having children of her own, but she became overwhelmed with her mental health disorder and cried out to God for help. In her inbox the following morning was an email, and the focus verse was Exodus 14:14, "The Lord will fight for you, you only need to be still." It didn't take away all the symptoms immediately, but God had claimed her fight which gave her hope to keep going. She had been nudged to try a therapist and/or psychiatrist but felt resistant to the treatment because of the stigma surrounding it. With feet dragging, she let down the walls of mental health professionals and finally received the help she truly needed. With therapy and medication, she is now able to handle and manage her symptoms. The fight or flight response is hindered so she can think clearly and work through the racing thoughts and feelings. Marin has now taken her experience and written a children's book called, My Little Monster, Combating OCD. Her hope in writing this is to let children know they are not alone in the struggle with their mental health and the importance of talking about it. Marin Canaday I am the author of, My Little Monster and soon to come, The Very Best Me. My books aim to help anyone struggling with OCD (be it the person themself or support people). I want to encourage those living with mental illness that there is HOPE! God is bigger than the struggle! Although the books are not faith based, the testimony that goes along beside them is nothing but God!
In a remarkable turn of events, Stephanie Haberman faced a dire situation as her mother's health declined rapidly. With her mother in a coma and recovery seeming unlikely, Stephanie turned to her pink rosary, placing it between their hands. Through her heartfelt prayer, within just 24 hours, Stephanie's mother awoke from the coma, leaving the doctors astonished and amazed. Although the miraculous healing required her faith, a short time after, she wandered from religion entirely. Years later, she ended up meeting a man on eHarmony. On the outside, he seemed very kind and easy-going, but red flags slowly began to be raised. Being in love and looking over his shortcomings, Stephanie ignored the controlling and aggressive behaviors that appeared now and then. After a few years of dating, they decided to marry and eventually had a son together. After their son was born, the abuse hit a huge spike. She often went to work, being mindful of wearing long-sleeved shirts so as not to reveal the bruises. Her life was controlled, and the fighting and fear continued to grow. In a time of desperation, laying in the guest room bed crying so hard about what to do and how to get out of the marriage, she cried out to God to help her. She wasn't even sure God was real, but she asked that He reveal Himself to her and show her who He is. A month later, Stephanie was in a physical altercation with her husband and, the following day realized that she had to get away from him. That night, in the pouring rain, she drove to the parking lot of the church where they had been married. The cross above the church pulled her in with its illuminating glow, and she prayed for Jesus to lead her and help her with the situation. The crying and pleading continued until she was hit with peace and the courage to leave the home and the marriage. Years later, she felt compelled to become Catholic and sought RCIA. For 18 months, she dove headfirst into God's theology and truth. Doors kept opening and amazingly supportive women continually appeared in her life. Currently, she is using her writing gift to share her healing story and journey to faith to help other women. Stephanie Haberman Book, D-Day: One Woman's Journey to God. Facebook @ Stephanie Haberman
What do you do when the church and your pastor fail you? Pastors are supposed to be the shepherds of the church. One of their main jobs is to protect the flock and keep them focused and on the right path towards Christ. Could you imagine if the pastor of your church had been sexually abusing the church's children? The children that he is responsible for protecting. Bridget Goodwin was just 13 years old when the pastor of her church began sexually abusing/assaulting her in his office at the church. The abusive control and complete mind manipulation lasted for fourteen long years. She was consumed by guilt and shame and held the heavy burden of silence, afraid to come forward. By the time she had gained the courage and gone to the church's elders, nothing had happened, and her hope and freedom from bondage were gone. It wasn't until the pastor had passed that Briget was finally free from the man who caused so much psychological and sexual torment in her life. His death marked the end of captivity for her, and she felt set free for the first time in years. Bridget went on to meet an amazing man and pastor, who she is still happily married to today. The discovery of who God is, and what a pastor should be for God's church reshaped her beliefs and gave her immense peace and healing. The journey of recovery from the trauma led her into a passion for music. She knew God had given her a voice and a new song to sing.-a beautiful song of redemption and hope. She wants others to find their voice and refuse to be silenced by their abuse. Her and her husband founded the organization, I Have a Voice Ministries, to help set other victims free from the bondage of silence. Lori Armstrong's "happily ever after," took an unexpected turn as divorce became a reality. When her relationship began to crumble, she sought counseling with her ex-husband, but the situation didn't improve. Hours of prayer were dedicated to restoring the marriage, particularly for the sake of their daughter's upbringing. Inevitably, the marriage ended, bringing forth criticism and alienation from those who were once part of her church community. The shift in attitudes left her feeling judged and rejected among fellow believers. However, Lori's unwavering faith and focus on God guided her towards a future filled with promise. Her dream job resurfaced, one that might not have if she had remained married. Not long after, she crossed paths with her current husband, a devoted Christian who cherished her and embraced her daughter as his own. As time passed, they welcomed a son, highlighting the alignment of God's plan and his, "happily ever after," for Lori. April's upbringing took place in a warm household, yet it was marred by the presence of mental illness within her family, coupled with various dysfunctions. In her quest for affection and acceptance, she sought love intensely, often defining herself through her roles as a wife and mother rather than her connection with Christ. This led to significant implications in her choices of partners, both in dating and marriage. Her initial marriage, a union with her high school sweetheart, bore two daughters, but it also introduced her to the heartbreak of betrayal through his infidelity. Consequently, a divorce followed suit. In her subsequent relationship, history repeated itself as she found herself entangled with a man bearing similarities to her ex-husband. Her third marriage was marked by escalating dysfunction and toxicity, as she married an abusive alcoholic, leading her to seek refuge in a safehouse with her children. Even as her trauma persisted, April's journey eventually led her to initiate divorce proceedings. Following a pattern of failed marriages and immense pain, she encountered Christ in her darkest moments and surrendered herself fully to His love. Her transformative experience compelled her to pen "Beauty from Ashes," a book that serves as a testament to her journey. Now, her mission centers on healing young women, women, and men from trauma and toxic patterns, emphasizing the discovery of identity through a connection with Christ.
